Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Over 500,000 Applicants Jostle For 3,200 Vacancies In Customs by olawooro: 11:18am On May 14, 2019 |
I don't know why many Nigerian youths are very desperate when it comes to Federal Govt jobs. Custom service for that matter. I want to believe 50% of the number of those applicants are employed, though it might be under employment. Be that as it may, most of them are not jobless or fresh graduates. God knows, I don't like being a civil servant. How much are they going to pay you? 100k at the end of months and 13th month salary at the end of year. What is the meaning of servant? 'Eru' (slave) So public/civil servant is "eru ilu". Working in govt ministry/agency in Nigeria limits your potential and productivity. It makes you lazy, which I think it is one reasons many rush for it. You cannot be rich and wealthy as much as you ought to except you steal. Right from my childhood, my ambition has been how to become an entrepreneur/ businessman and employer. As a self employed, their is no limit to where you can reach in this life. Your success is limitless. It is dependent on your own, not on anybody. 1 Like |

As Nigeria is currently experiencing insurgency which has displaced millions of its citizens, there are foreign NGOs in their hundred in the country for the sake of humanitarian assistance. Who cares weather you were present or not? Pressmen and propaganda. They just like making issue out of nothing. Anyway, they must sell their market, and this is one of marketing strategies. If not that Nigeria is a lawless country, How will someone who, in the eye of the constitution/law does not posses any political power, be overrated? Nigeria, a place where an individual is stronger than an institution. |

GOFRONT:But they loved to be suffered and smiling for 30 yrs, while those of Gadaffi, and Gbagbo loved suffering for over 40 years? Nonsense. Nigeria is not good. I accept. But mind you, what happens in those countries can never happen in Nigeria. Whether you will agree with me or not, Nigeria still remains largest democracy in Africa, though we are yet to get there. The kind of rights and freedom you enjoy here are absent in those countries. Go and and ask Lybia returnees. 1 Like |

But Babalola is not in that grave. God forbid. Going to the grave to pray? This is not different from heathenish practice. If going there for the purpose of tourism, fine. But when you believes it is until when you go to the grave of your spiritual father, before your prayer could be answered, that is paganism. A Bible commentator said one of the reasons God did not reveal the tomb of Moses to the Israelites was because of their paganism tendency. Having stayed in Egypt which was reputed for its idolatry, they would definitely worship him. The greatest sin of Saul in the sight of God was the invoking the spirit of prophet Samuel. If that practice could be evil in the sight of God, even in the old testament, how much more in Christianity where Christ alone is the greatest and final sacrifice, and the only medium through we can reach God? Africans are paganistic in nature. That is the reason why many don't have faith until they go to the so called holy land, Jerusalem to pray at the sight where Jesus was crucified or the side of river Galilee. 4 Likes |

Gboliwe:Too bad, you would say? It is very unfortunate that criminals have now capitalized on the unemployment situation in the country to perpetrate their heinous crimes. People that they themselves are unemployed, now turn to employers, making full advantage of modern means of communications. If not for nairaland and social media platforms, can they afford to make job averts on a national daily? |

solosamste:Too much desperation is very bad. I know you did this in order to get ahead of others. So that when the guy eventually open his mail, he would know you're the one. This is a bribery in kind or a way of seeking a favour, as far as I am concerned. All the same, this is not a wise decision. |

uuzba:It is like you don't know that some people do create threads on nairaland to collect primary data for a project and research purposes. One of the advantages of online data gathering is that the respondents willingly respond because it is anonymous, which if it is face to face interview they may be reluctant or felt embarrassed, especially on a sensitive topic which has to do with personal life. You will also be able to reach a large number of respondents. 22 Likes 3 Shares |
