Self-acclaimed journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has been forced to switch off her phone after being bombarded with calls.

CrimeBaltimore Man Shot Himself After Killing His Ex Girlfriend & Ex Pregnant Wife by Oleys(op): 4:29am On Dec 14, 2021
Police in two Maryland jurisdictions are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after they say a man killed his ex girlfriend, his ex-wife, and then himself on Saturday December 11.

Police were called to a Howard County apartment in the 7300 block of Eden Brook Drive in Columbia just after 2 p.m. on Saturday for reports of gunshots and found a man and a woman dead inside a vestibule of an apartment building.

The woman was identified as Wendy Natalie Black, 42, of the 7300 block of Eden Brook Drive, Columbia, Md. The man was identified as Rajaee Shareef Black, 44, of the 7600 block of Ironworks Way, Hanover, Md.

Police said the suspected man came to the apartment complex looking for his ex-wife and shot and killed her. He then turned the gun on himself and died by suicide. After police arrived, they found the Blacks’ two unharmed young children in Rajaee Black’s car, which was parked at the apartment complex.

Police said the children have been placed in a safe environment and did not witness the shooting.

Shortly before killing himself and the woman, police said they believe the man killed another woman in Baltimore, who they describe as the man’s ex girlfriend.

Baltimore City police said the man had kicked in the door of an apartment and shot the woman to death.

Soon after the killings, Baltimore police informed Howard County police that the man had posted a video on Facebook stating his intentions to come to Howard County.

According to Shareef Black his ex wife stopped him from seeing their children by claiming that he used to molest them. He said they broke up and he met someone else who got pregnant for him. Soon after, he got into a fight with the pregnant lady who also said she’d keep his child away from him when he or she is born and this got him infuriated.

“Anyway, I just did something crazy, man. I just shot my ex-girlfriend in the head,” he says in the video.

“Felt like a dream. I never thought I would be that guy. I can’t go to prison, so the person that really started my depression and all of this is my ex-wife. So, she next. Then I’m going to do myself too.”

“I just want to say this to people. Don’t play with people mehn… don’t lie on issue’s mehn…” he added

In that moment, his ex-wife opens the door. “Oh, there’s my ex-wife right now,” he says as the video cuts.

By the time police received word of the Facebook post, the killings had already happened, Howard County police said.

“What we now believe is that was a domestic-related murder-suicide. We believe the suspect, who is male, came to the area, sought out the female victim, shot and killed her and then shot and killed himself,” Howard County police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn said.

“This is a tragic domestic event that did not have to happen, and this is what we’re talking about all the time with guns and domestic violence and the willingness of people to use these guns to take out their anger to solve conflict,” Harrison said.

CelebritiesI Did Not Contribute To Your Failed Marriage With FFK, Rev Olorunmagba Reveals by Oleys(op): 4:15am On Dec 14, 2021
The pastor, who was accused by Precious Chikwendu, the estranged wife of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, as contributing to the trouble in their marriage has refuted the allegations against him.

Rev. Emmanuel Olorunmagba said rather than bringing in women to replace her, as alleged, he denied being a party to the broken marriage, adding that he had been the one that always interceded on her behalf on several occasions.

Rev. Olorunmagba explained that he been busy with a programme, hence the delay in responding to the allegations against him.

However, in a detailed response to Chikwendu’s allegations, the cleric wrote:

RESPONSE TO PRECIOUS CHIKWENDU’S FALSE ACCUSATIONS.

-By Rev Emmanuel Olorunmagba.

“Precious Chikwendu claimed that I was responsible for most fights between her and Chief FFK and claimed I called her derogatory names which are just lies and cheap way of getting sympathy from the general public as her custom is. It’s so unfortunate that she turned out to be an ingrate and chose to employ lies on me because I posted that those issues in circulation on social media are not good for her four sons to read in the future.

“And I have personally said same to Chief FFK, who to the best of my knowledge, I have not seen him posting on her issue, rather it was his lawyer’s response that I saw and he has even said he won’t say anything personally on her issue. But funny enough some Nigerians don’t used to care to hear the other side of issues before jumping to conclusions especially if it has to do with a female accusing a pastor.

“Of course the new trend now is that social media has become a tool of cheap blackmail against pastors. And social media has turned many people to “journalists” even when they don’t understand the ethics of journalism that if a person is accused you (bloggers) don’t just post one sided story you reach out to the person and hear his own side so as to balance your report. Amusingly some bloggers carried her lies without anyone trying to contact me in any way to even hear my own side.

“Note that I am not one that would publicize the good I have done for someone but just for the record, I have to respond to her childish and cheap lies and will be forced to say just little out of many things.

“Precious Chikwendu, on more than two occasions, I have settled issues between you and Chief FFK. An example was the Anambra State incident where you angrily left the hotel room where you were lodged with Chief at odd time, even hit the police man that was begging you not to go to your father’s house. But you left and still the lawyer that was with us then and I, had to plead for you with chief and we got down to your father’s house with chief to ensure reconciliation.

“Or was it that of 28th December 2019 (I am mentioning this case because it’s already on social media) when chief called me and told me of how he caught you in the act of adultery in a hotel room with a Naval Officer, and how he was done with you and will release the video of you and the guy on social media. But I took the next available train from Kaduna to Abuja only because of that and still pleaded with chief not to make any post that will tarnish the image of his children’s mother. He listened to my plea but vowed before me and others not to ever make love to you from that day on.

“And I was still preaching to him for forgiveness and reconciliation of you both even when others were shouting ,”send her away” to the extent that the staff in the house did not only celebrate that you would never return, they even went to House on the Rock Church to thank God that the person deducting their salaries and oppression them had been shown the way out. But as I returned to Kaduna I still kept calling and talking on the need for forgiveness until Chief FFK brought you back to his house.
“On another occasion that you packed out of the house among many occasions (of packing out and packing in), I even called you on phone and spoke with you after talking to chief so that both of you can get back together for the sake of the kids who are entitled to both parents’ love and presence.

“Even the night I received call that you carried knife and was jumping from on top of chair to another chair; that the entire staff were scared, that Chief FFK said he had to call a female police DPO to come with female police officers and it took several hours till late into the night, before they could get the knife out of your hand and you were taken for psychiatrist attention the next morning. While others were expressing fear that what if it starts happened to you in the dead of the night while you are alone with Chief FFK and you stab him, I still prayed that God heal you. Now you are turning against me?

“You even lied to the extent that you that once claimed Chief FFK can’t perform on bed now turn to lie again that I anointed WOMEN that were brought on your BED. Ha, Precious Chikwendu, I have never and will never introduce any single lady to another single man for marriage not to talk of ever introducing women to a married man. God forbid!

As per the prayers, not only have I and is still praying for chief, I have prayed for you as well and I do pray for anyone that I am close to and I will still continue praying for all the people I am close to and no devil can stop that because I am called to bless. Before you went for your last surgery, chief called me and I prayed for you, both during and after the surgery. I have always prayed for peace in the family and your children as well. You are in the know of all these but you always take to social media to solicit for sympathy through lying. On the false and laughable allegations that “I am living in Chief FFK’s house: since you claimed that my members don’t see me in church, then give my church address to your followers and tell them to come any Wednesday 5pm during our Midweek Service or any of our two services on Sunday at 7 am and 8:45 am respectively. Then if they don’t see me and I am in the country they can conclude on that. I won’t say more than this.

“Over this your relationship issue, you have lied on Chief FFK, Mrs Regina in Ghana, a Senator, police personnel, lawyers and now it’s the turn of pastors and my turn for you to lie on. Ironically, some Nigerians are still believing you despite that you have two criminals cases in different courts over defamation of character, falsehood, conspiracy and cybercrime. The cases are still ongoing, yet you still continue for the media attention through false and malicious allegations on people.

“GET THIS CLEAR TODAY, I HAVE NEVER BEEN PARTY TO ANY BROKEN MARRIAGE AND I WILL NEVER BE PARTY TO SUCH. RATHER BY THE GRACE OF GOD, MANY MARRIAGES THAT WERE AT THE VERGE OF COLLAPSE HAVE BEEN RESTORED THROUGH ME, AS FAR AS BOTH PARTY TAKE COUNSEL AND PRACTICE THE WORD OF GOD AS TAUGHT.

“And I still stand on my point that continuous social media ranting will only keep exposing things your children will not be happy to read when they grow. I just hope you realise what you are doing yourself before it becomes too late…” Olorunmagba stated.

“The former Aviation Minister has been embroiled in a bitter divorce war with his ex-partner, who is claiming custody of their children, on the grounds that Fani-Kayode never married her and that they merely cohabitated for six years. The former beauty queen also claimed that she did not conceive her children naturally by sleeping with Fani-Kayode but through artificial insemination, as, according to her, the ex-aviation minister had erectile dysfunction.

SportsNFF Sacks Gernot Rohr, Appoints Eguavon As Interim Manager Of Super Eagles by Oleys(op): 3:58am On Dec 13, 2021
The three-time African champions’ 1-1 draw with Cape Verde proved to be the last game for the German tactician, as the NFF replaced him on Sunday

Gernot Rohr has been axed as Nigeria coach after five years in charge, with Augustine Eguavoen drafted in as an interim replacement.

“The relationship between the Nigeria Football Federation and Mr Rohr has come to an end. We thank him for his services to the Super Eagles and Nigeria,” said NFF general secretary Mohammed Sanusi in a statement made available to the media.

“We also want to thank the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports for their collaboration and guidance all through.”

Eguavoen – who will lead Nigeria to Cameroon 2021 – will be assisted by Salisu Yusuf (chief coach), Paul Aigbogun (assistant coach), Joseph Yobo (assistant coach); Terry Eguaoje (assistant coach) and Aloysius Agu (goalkeeper trainer).

Former Nigeria captains Austin Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and Garba Lawal will provide technical and ambassadorial support for the crew.

Rohr was named as permanent manager of the three-time African champions in August 2016, following the departure of the Nigerian great Sunday Oliseh.

He won his first game in charge of the Super Eagles – defeating Tanzania 1-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

The German tactician led the country to the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia as well as the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations – where Nigeria finished third after defeating Tunisia in the third-place match.

In May 2020, he agreed on a two-and-a-half-year contract extension after the NFF reviewed his performances.

Before he was axed, the 68-year-old came under heavy criticism from Nigerians after the Super Eagles struggled but eventually advanced from Group C in the second round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The former Bordeaux coach currently has a record of 28 wins out of 54 matches with Nigeria and he is the most-capped coach in the national team’s history.

Former African Player of the Year Victor Ikpeba had warned that sacking Rohr on the eve of Afcon would be a “disaster” while urging the NFF to learn from history.

“It is less than 48 days before our first game against Egypt at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. The speculation about his sack has been intense and I’m really surprised,” Ikpeba said on SuperSport.

“I know what happened in 2002 and in 2010. Rumour of people going to the sports ministry and the presidency calling for Rohr to be sacked.

“Rohr has done the needful qualifying the Eagles for the World Cup playoffs. Yes, we were not brilliant against Cape Verde but he has done the needful.

Politics“How We Replaced Mulikat Adeola With Tambuwal, Akande by Oleys(op): 12:49pm On Dec 12, 2021
As president in 2011, Goodluck Jonathan did all he could to ensure South West grabbed the country’s number four seat, including lobbying then opposition leaders from the zone, to no avail.

The North West through Aminu Tambuwal eventually grabbed the seat, supported by South West leaders in opposition to then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Former Governor of Osun State and now statesman, Bisi Akande, made this revelation in his autobiography, “My Participations” which is currently dominating political and national dis- course.

Aminu Tambuwal, now Sokoto State governor, won the seat, against the preferred pick of his party, Mrs Mulikat Adeola Akande, from the South-West.

Defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, then a fledging opposition, which had Akande and his soulmate, former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, as front- line leaders, openly asked its elected members of the House of Representatives, mostly from the South-West, to work against their region and back Tambuwal from North-West.

The opposition party’s support carried Tambuwal through the contest against Akande, then ruling party’s favourite for the speakership seat.

In his book, Akande revealed that former president then as incumbent, personally reached out to Tinubu, who is now believed to be nursing presidential aspiration in 2023 and himself, but couldn’t convince them.

He wrote, “President Jonathan, immediately after the meeting (with political parties), called Bola Tinubu aside into a lobby to broach the matter of ACN support for a choice of who would become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“That same day, President Jonathan talked to me on phone about the same matter. He disclosed that PDP had zoned the position to the South-West but that only one Muraina and another Mulika won elections on PDP ticket from the zone into the House of Representatives.

“I quickly reminded him that, as at (sic) that date in the United States of America, while the Democrats produced the Senate President, the Republicans (the opposition) produced the Speaker of the House of Representatives. I boasted that ACN was capable of suggesting to him ten names of members from the South West from among whom to choose if PDP would be magnanimous enough to practice democracy the way it was being practised in the USA, from where we imported our presidential system.

“He seemed pissed off and stopped the conversation,” he said.

In the era being referenced by the former national chairman of the defunct opposition party, the controlling party in each of the chambers of the Congress in the United States was in the majority, which wasn’t the case with ACN when the Ila-born politician was making his claim.

He also revealed in the book that their political platforms had their sight on working against the then ruling party.

“In the aftermath of the 2011 elections, many of our people were dissatisfied. Under the PDP, our country has become thoroughly decadent. Those of us who saw the then ruling party as an extension of the military corrupt politics preferred to work with all the major opposition parties which would eventually lead to a merger if we were to uproot the entrenched PDP and its evil tendencies. The first party that came to mind was the CPC which like us, was resolutely opposed to the PDP.

“Immediately after the elections, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila led a team of ACN boys to Bola Tinubu and me to suggest support for Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, a PDP member from Sokoto, to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

In the meantime, President Goodluck Jonathan was pressing for a government of national unity, with a bid of sucking ACN into manipulative extinction.”

Another major revelation from the book is the involvement of a former National Security Adviser and a Sokoto prince, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd) in the presidential project of now President Muhammadu Buhari preparatory to the 2011 presidential election against then incumbent Jonathan.

Jonathan defeated Buhari in the contest, before Buhari triumphed in their replay in 2015.

PoliticsIyiola Omisore Crept Into My Life Like A Silent Malignant Cancer, Bisi Akande by Oleys(op): 3:39am On Dec 12, 2021
Former Interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Bisi Akande said his former deputy, Iyiola Omisore crept into his life like a silent malignant cancer.

Akande, in his autobiography, “My Participations,” unveiled on Thursday in Lagos said Omisore came in full force and that he regretted he did not know him in his true colours.

“Iyiola Omisore crept into my life like a silent malignant cancer. He came in full force. In a few months, I thought I knew him. I regret I did not know him in his true colours,” he lamented.

He said since Omisore was introduced to him by Yekini, popularly known as Bisi Adedotun, he started visiting him regularly in Lagos and Ila and “calling me Baba, while I called him Iyiola.”

”Every place in my home, including my bedrooms, was made accessible to him even though I did not bother to know his house or wherever he might have been coming from. I very much admired Yekini and by intuition, I merely transferred the same admiration to Iyiola Omisore,” he said.

Akande said at the initial time, he did not want to use Omisore for his running mate but that pressure mounted on him to use him.

He said Omisore’s closeness to the Abacha regime made matters of trust difficult, but that he had to settle for him afterall.

Akande said the Alliance for Democracy, AD, later won the election in Osun in January 1999.

”It was part of my immediate problems after the election that Sola Akinwunmi who seemed to have had a very soft and kind disposition for Iyiola Omisore began to alert me about Omisore’s disloyalty. They were earlier close friends because Akinwunmi, as an article of faith, wanted me to become the governor of Osun State at all cost.

”He entered into friendship with whosoever shared that faith with him. Sooner after our election, Sola Akinwunmi, as the then secretary to the party, was disappointed at Iyiola’s attitudes towards me,” he said.

Akande said Omisore was reported to have been withdrawing some party funds from Sola Akinwunmi using his name without his authority.

“He would go to the party secretariat and use my name to collect money, sometimes, N100,000. On one occasion, Ayo Opadokun lost his father in Offa, Kwara State and we thought we should honour him. I said I would visit him. I funded a gift from my own pocket for my visit to Opadokun in Offa.

”Then, one Omisore’s messenger came and met me with Opadokun. He whispered to me that his boss sent him to give money to Opadokun and also give him N50,000 on my behalf. I told the emissary not to worry about mine because I had already seen Opadokun. It was later I learnt that Omisore took money on my purported authority from the party secretariat for the simple act of condolence,” he stated.

On another occasion, Omisore was said to be collaborating with the Commissioner of Police to impose ADC of his choice on me, but said the plan was exposed and thwarted.

Akande also said when Peugeot 504 cars were being given to every governor-elect by the military authority, as take-off transport needs to the governor before inauguration, Omisore was said to have used his name without his authority to collect the four cars from the then Osun State Secretary to the Government-Elder Femi Adelowokan.

”He sent one to me and appropriated three to himself. I then requested for the other three cars. After a while, he claimed one was snatched by robbers on the way to Cotonou in Benin Republic and that another had a serious accident. So, he never brought the remaining three cars,” he said.

PoliticsObasanjo & Prominent Northern Elite Warned APC Against Fielding Buhari, Akande by Oleys(op): 3:26am On Dec 12, 2021
The pioneer Interim National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande, has given an insight into the severe pressure mounted on the party by influential persons to make sure Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), now the President, did not emerge as the party’s candidate for the 2015 election.

In his 559-page autobiography, titled ‘My Participations’, launched in Lagos on Thursday, Akande said persons like former President Olusegun Obasanjo and some unnamed elite, especially from the North, including royal fathers, were against Buhari becoming the party’s candidate.

The former Osun State governor explained that an aristocratic leader from the North came to Osogbo, the state capital, to persuade the then governor, Rauf Aregbesola, to prevail on them to drop Buhari.

He, however, said the leaders of the newly formed party decided to go ahead with Buhari, given his charisma and the support he had garnered in his previous attempts, having contested the coveted position three times earlier. He said the emergence of the APC created a formidable structure for him and that Buhari’s candidacy was in fact one of the bases for the merger of the constituent political parties.

Regardless of this, he noted that the party allowed anybody interested in the ticket to contest against Buhari at the convention, where he eventually won.

On Obasanjo’s opposition to Buhari’s candidacy, he wrote, “When the party was ready and we were going around to all the leaders, someone reminded us that we had not seen Obasanjo and (former Head of State, Ibrahim) Babangida, and asked them to join us.

“We also met Obasanjo and asked him to join us. He said he would not join us but that he had his sympathy for us. He said he had decided not to join any political party since he left the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party).

“Behind the scene however, I understood he was pressurising some of our leaders not to use Buhari as our candidate. It got to a point when Bola Tinubu had to confront him thus: ‘It is not fair sending me to Buhari. Buhari was a soldier and he was one of your junior officers in the army. Why don’t you call Buhari and let him know how you feel about his intention to be President?’

“I don’t know whether Obasanjo stopped at it. From the start, he did not want Buhari to be President.”

Also, on the opposition by the other elite, Akande wrote, “It was apparent from the start that Buhari would be our choice for President. That was one of the bases for the merger. However, there were pressures from the elite, especially from the North, including royal fathers, piling pressure on us not to allow Buhari to be our presidential candidate.

“A prominent aristocratic leader from the North stayed several nights in Osogbo, persuading Governor Aregbesola to prevail on us not to field Buhari. He threatened that if we did, there would be trouble in the North. We reviewed all these threats and decided to go through it with Buhari.”

FamilyYou Contributed To My Marital Woes To FFK, Precious Chikwendu To Pastor Emmanuel by Oleys(op): 5:10am On Dec 11, 2021
Nollywood actress and beauty queen, Precious Chikwendu has spilled out more revelations in the wake of the unending dramas accompanying stories of marital dispute that led to her divorce from Femi Fani- Kayode, Nigerian former minister of aviation.

Precious, who had recently stirred reactions online by accusing the former minster of nonperformance in bed, reacted to a post by one Rev. Emmanuel Olorunmagba (President of Total Liberation Mission) as she accuses him of being responsible for her marriage woes.

Taking to her instastory, Precious wrote, “This is the head of the 7 pastors that lived in our home and called me delilah or vashti, annointed women that were brought in my bed to replace me when i still lived there, he was responsible for most fights and is also always present in court each day I’m in court to report proceedings to his master.

His church in kaduna hardly sees him as he lives with short fuse all week praying for short fuse to be president. Now he is on a rant since i speaking. I will call you all out. Wait for me.”

Precious shared a screenshot of a post the clergyman shared on his Facebook page and said he has been “ranting” since she started speaking about their marital crisis.

PoliticsHow Tinubu Became Frustrated When Buhari Picked Osinbajo, Bisi Akande by Oleys(op): 4:14am On Dec 11, 2021
At the time, Tinubu was certain that Buhari had his own agenda.

When the APC was setting out its stall to unseat the PDP, ahead of the 2015 presidential election, Bola Tinubu became so frustrated with President Muhammadu Buhari for reneging on previous agreements, according to ex-Osun Governor Bisi Akande who was in the room and was part of the negotiations.

Akande is a former interim national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In his autobiography titled: “My Participation”, Akande writes that Buhari promised that Tinubu was going to be his running mate in the 2015 election and then went back on that agreement–a move that visibly riled Tinubu.

ThisDay has been publishing excerpts from the book.

“In April 2014, I was in Abuja when Buhari called me and asked me to persuade Bola to run with him. Governor Masari was the one who came to call me. When I followed him into Buhari’s private lobby, Bola Tinubu was already seated there,” writes Akande.

“So, when Buhari tabled the matter, I cautioned them that this must not get out beyond the four of us. ‘How could he be talking of a running mate when he had not secured the ticket?” I mused.

“I thought such information, if leaked to the general public, might affect the conduct of the party’s congress at the presidential primaries, if not its choice of candidate. I thanked Buhari for thinking so highly of our friend.

“Bola later told me that Buhari’s emissaries had been coming to him, but he tried to dodge the gesture and not to show interest. We agreed that we would reopen the matter when Buhari had secured the ticket,” he adds.

Akande says he was taken aback when Buhari was given a list of potential vice presidential picks, after assuring Tinubu that the position was his for the taking.

Akande writes that it was Odigie Oyegun, who was supported by Tinubu to emerge chairman of the party, who asked for names from the geopolitical zones from where Buhari was going to pick a running mate.

“He said it was from this list that Buhari would choose a running mate. I objected. I turned to Buhari. ‘General, where are you choosing your running mate from?’ He answered, ‘The South-west.’ ‘Oh! I didn’t know,’ Oyegun said. He apologised.

“I didn’t know why Oyegun made that proposition and at whose behest. As the chairman of the party, maybe some people pushed him to do that,” Akande says.

Akande continues: “Then, I called Buhari aside. ‘Is our arrangement still standing?’ I referred him to our discussion in April. He said yes!”

After one Elders’ Committee meeting which ended in a deadlock, Buhari put a phone call across to Tinubu to hand him three names from where he would pick a running mate

A startled Tinubu discussed Buhari’s latest move with Akande immediately.

“We were all in Abuja and Tinubu rushed to me with this information. He wanted to know whether the understanding we reached with Buhari had changed. I called Buhari and he told me he now needed three names from us. I was angry with him.

‘‘General, this was not what we agreed upon,’ I said in annoyance. ‘You are changing our agreement?’ He knew I was getting angry.

“He said he was under pressure from some governors from the north, including those who were Muslims. I told him the slot belonged to the South-West and among the Yoruba, religion is not a factor in leadership,” he writes.

Akande adds that: “Oshiomhole was surprised about the narration. ‘If indeed you promised to make Asiwaju your running mate, it would not be fair to renege,’ he said. Buhari now said he never meant it that way. What he meant originally was that Tinubu should partner with him.”

Safe in the knowledge that he was no longer in the running for a vice presidential slot, a frustrated Tinubu told Akande that he was leaving Abuja for Lagos: “I don’t want to be part of whatever you are discussing now, ‘he said. ‘I don’t trust Buhari anymore!

“Even if we give him names, he may decide to go outside the list. So, let him choose on his own. He was unhappy with Buhari.

“I told him that was not the attitude to adopt. We were trying to toy with some names and I wanted him to participate in the discussion. After some time, Amosun, Aregbesola and I were considering some names. Then I decided to call Tinubu again.

‘We negotiated with Buhari in 2011 and gave him a name to choose instead of Pastor Bakare,’ I spoke to Tinubu on phone. ‘Who was that person?’ l asked.

‘It was Yemi Osinbajo,’ Tinubu declared.

“I asked Aregbesola to find out where Osinbajo was. He called him on the phone. ‘Yemi, where are you?

‘Don’t you know your case is coming up tomorrow?’ ‘l am in Abuja to argue your case.’ Osinbajo answered at the other end. ‘Which hotel are you staying?” Osinbajo inquired.

“I got a blank sheet of paper and wrote Yemi Osinbajo on it. I instructed Amosun and Aregbesola to deliver that note to Buhari immediately. It was almost midnight. Then the two of them left.”

He continues: “I was waiting for Buhari to call me after he must have received my message. He did not. It was Tinubu who came to me at the wee hours of the morning. He was not in a good mood and was worried that Buhari might visit our efforts with bad faith.

“Let us go back to Lagos”, he said. Why? I asked. “Maybe Buhari has his own agenda,” he said. Even if we give him a name , he might not use the person. Maybe he just wants to use us for whatever his agenda might be.”

“I reassured him that Buhari will not disappoint us and that he would agree with our choice as the vice presidential candidate of our party.”

Osinbajo would go on to become Buhari’s running mate in the 2015 and 2019 presidential contests.

Most of the political heavyweights who participated in the discussions of the period, have said Tinubu was ruled out because the APC didn’t think it was going to win a nationwide election with a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Like Buhari, Tinubu is a practising Muslim from Nigeria’s southern region.

CelebritiesHow Can A Little Girl Of 21 Control A 74 Year Old” , Jaruma Slams Ned Nwoko by Oleys(op): 3:48am On Dec 10, 2021
Controversial Aphrodisiac seller, Jaruma has slammed Regina Daniel’s billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko after he released a statement stating that his marriage to Morrocoan wife, Laila Chacarani did not end over Kayanmata as speculated but infidelity.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, December 9, the sex therapist made a video expressing her disappointment over the accusations Nwoko made against Laila. She also stated that she is shocked that a ’74-year-old man’ would speak ill about a woman in such a manner.

Speaking further, Jaruma said that she is surprised that Nwoko decided to release a statement attacking her over the Kayanmata saga she had with his wife Regina Daniels weeks after the issue was raised, adding that she has since moved on from the issue.

She also said that her ex-husband whom Ned claimed left her despite her kayanmata influence on him would not tarnish her image as he did his ex-wife.

“You won’t see my husband rattling me out, talking about this nonsense, calling me a pig, calling me disgusting, accusing me of sleeping with other men while I was married. And you don’t see me saying these nasty things about my husband either. Do you see Davido saying these nasty things about Chioma? Do you see Chioma saying nasty things about Davido? common daddy, you are 74 years old you are supposed to give us a good example which means do not talk about your spouse in this manner.

“If Kayamata is not working on you, how can a little girl of 21 control you and your PR to type this, five pages, Jaruma product is working on you, If not how can a 21-year-old girl allow this to be published on your own page with your own words. We know it is Regina’s writing,” she said.

Ned Nwoko had on Wednesday released a statement on Instagram denying that his decision to end his marriage with Laila was influenced by Jaruma’s kayamata which Regina Daniels used on him.

He also questioned why the sex therapist’s husband left her in spite of her claims that kayamata has the power to bend any man to a woman’s will.

CrimeMr Oromoni You Played A Role In The Death Of Your Son Sylvester, Lady Reveals by Oleys(op): 8:48am On Dec 09, 2021
A Social Media commentator, Anwulika Udanoh has opened up on her Facebook page to give another perspective to the death of 12 year old Sylvester Oronomi Jnr, a student of Dowen College,Lekki Lagos.

In her accounts, she narrated how religious belief by parents of the boy contributed to his death.

Udanoh who claimed this maybe her last post on the teenager’s death wrote that the young lad may not have died, if he had got a quick medical attention.

She revealed that the reason he wasn’t taken to the hospital and even driven by road all the way from Lagos to Warri in such condition was because of religion belief of his parents.

The deceased parents, she claimed, are members of God’s Grace Ministry, a very controversial church in Warri, owned by self styled ‘Bishop of the whole World,’ Saint Dikeji Daniel MiyeriJesu.

The members of the church, according to her, must not go to see the doctor when they or their children are sick but should rather go to the Pastor for him to lay his hands on them.

And when they feel there is need for a doctor, the church has a doctor and I am sure that was the same doctor the father invited to see the boy at home. Of course the father would have been punished by the Church if he had taken Sylvester to the hospital in Lagos or somewhere else,” Udanoh wrote.

Watching the videos, she queried what sort of a father will see his child in such pains and drive him by road from Lagos to Warri when he can afford his treatment in any hospital in Lagos?

Which hospital did he intend to take the boy to in Warri, that made him leave Lagos, drive past UBTH, drive past Oghara? If I may ask,” she said.

Sylvester’s case, she said, must be properly investigated and culprits brought to book saying she is sure his parents will forever live with the guilt of the role they played in events leading to his death.

This may be my lAST POST ABOUT SYLVESTER’S DEATH.

“After listening to his father and watching the videos, I sincerely think that had Sylvester gotten quick medical attention, there are huge chances he would still be alive today. And the reason he wasn’t taken to the hospital and even driven by road all the way from Lagos to Warri in such condition was because of religion.

A situation where Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, and people of very fantastic educational certificates depend on a complete illiterate to teach them the Bible played a BIG ROLE in the death of little Sly.
His parents are members of God’s Grace Ministry, a very controversial church in Warri, owned by self styled ‘Bishop of the whole World,’ Saint Dikeji Daniel MiyeriJesu.

A church where the Bible has been turned upside down completely. Where husbands are told how and how not to sleep with their wives. How members must not go to see the doctor when they or their children are sick instead come to him to lay hands on them. And when they feel there is need for a doctor, the church has a doctor and I am sure that was the same doctor the father invited to see the boy at home. Of course the father would have been punished by the Church if he had taken Sylvester to the hospital in Lagos or somewhere else.

Watching the videos, just ask yourself, what sort of a father will see his child in such pains and drive him by road from Lagos to Warri when he can afford his treatment in any hospital? Which hospital did he intend to take the boy to in Warri, that made him leave Lagos, drive past UBTH, drive past Oghara? If I may ask.

Sylvester’s case must be properly investigated and culprits brought to book, but I am very sure his parents will forever live with the guilt of the role they played in events leading to his death.

For those of you in Delta that your ‘Osu’ as he is fondly called has ‘HYPNOTISED’ i hope you will have a rethink. Or better still enjoy your…

‘BISHOP OF THE WHOLE WORLD’ who always promise to protect you all as you pray through him but his secret cult son was butchered by fellow secret cult member in that same Warri. And nothing happened.

No be juju be dat? She wote

May the young, innocent and gentle soul of Sly rest in perfect peace.”

CelebritiesAlaafin Of Oyo Denies Estranged Wife Queen Dami Entrance Into The Palace by Oleys(op): 8:37am On Dec 09, 2021
Queen Damilola, one of the wives of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has been denied access to the palace amidst her unreserved public apology to the monarch and the entire royal family over her previous misconduct.
Recall that Queen Damilola was locked up in a cell after allegedly going against a palace rule, an act that prompted her to leave her marriage and run away from the palace for Lagos on April 2021.

Days after her exit from the place, Damilola became homeless until some concerned Nigerians decided to contribute money towards helping her get a decent accommodation and start-up life again.

However, on May 31st 2021, a man in a video shared by Instagram blogger Gistlovers alleged that the monarch frequently sends feeding allowances to queen Dami after her exit from the palace.

The man also alleged that the Alaafin also rented Dami’s mother an apartment.

In contrast, the queen’s ex-wife refuted the claim stating that she paid for her mother’s rent and son’s school fees from the money contributed to by well-meaning Nigerians.

In a chat, the blogger questioned Dami if she would retune to the palace following the monarch‘s claims.

She responded, saying she would not be returning to bondage as the monarch was only trying to manipulate her.
However, Queen Damilola, in a post shared on her Instagram page on Sunday 31st October 2021, apologised to the monarch and refuted the claims that Oba Adeyemi was not taking care of her.

According to Queen Dami, frustration and some friends had misled her to leave the palace, adding that some things are not more evident to her, and she is sorry for dragging the royal family in the mud.

Queen Damilola begged the royal monarch to forgive her and accept her back into the palace, stating that she would refund the money people contributed to during her difficult times.

Amidst the public apology, an Instagram blogger Gistlovers has alleged that the monarch denied his estranged wife, Dami, access to the palace.

The blogger also said that queen Dami is staying with a friend and why she has not been able to share photos of her in the palace.

CrimeLagos Community Thrown Into Confusion As 8 Children Die Inside Vehicle (pics) by Oleys(op): 6:54pm On Dec 05, 2021
The residents of Adelayo Street in Jah-Michael community, Olorunda area of Lagos have been thrown into commotion following the discovery of the lifeless body of eight children inside a Honda Pilot jeep with registration number AAA157BD parked inside a fenced house.

The lifeless body of the children aged between four to nine years old were discovered at about 5pm on Saturday evening when Saliat Kazeem who wanted to feed her granddaughter raised alarm that the children were trapped inside the vehicle.

Saliat Kazeem, the owner of the building where the incident happened was asleep when the children, including her granddaughter entered and got trapped inside the vehicle and died of suffocation.

When Vanguard got to the scene on Sunday afternoon, relatives of family of the victims were at the scene, they opened the gate to inspect the compound and held meetings insinuating that there was more than meets the eyes.

At the compound, shattered windscreen from the vehicle littered the scene everywhere. Glasses from the window of building which was destroyed by irrate residents were also scattered on the ground.
Vanguard learned that the eight children involved are from four different families. A family has three children, another family has two, another has two while Saliat Kazeem has one (granddaughter) The names of the children are, Zainab, Tayab, Farida, Mamod, Yakubu, Wahab, Aisha and Saliat Kazeem’s granddaughter.

According to Azeez, it was actually when the owner of the building Saliat Kazeem woke up, that she discovered that the children including her granddaughter whom she wanted to feed was inside the vehicle.”

“When I heard the incident I rushed there like other residents, we found out some of the children were still alive, they were still breathing, we were telling them to rush them to the hospital, but they were wasting time, they didn’t do anything till it was late. By the time they eventually took the grandchild of Saliat Kazeem to the hospital, it was too late as she died on the way.”

“Yesterday was like war as young men in the community wanted to set the house ablaze. Relatives of the affected families attacked people who were passing yesterday.

A community leader in the area who spoke to Vanguard on the condition of anonymity said yesterday agrieved youths almost lynched Saliat Kazeem, the onwer of the vehicle and building but for the police who intervened and sealed off the building.

Yet to understand what was happening, a little boy who identified himself as AbdulKareem, said my two siblings, Aisha and Farida were among the children who died inside the vehicle.

Lamenting, a resident, Adetayo Ojo, said “the gate is hardly open, anytime we pass through this street, the gate is always locked. So I wonder what happened that it was opened and eight children went there to play.”

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson Lagos state police command CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu said “eight children were said to have mistakenly locked themselves in an abandoned car while playing. Their bodies have been recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for autopsy so as to determine the actual cause of death. Notwithstanding the report made to the Police, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough and speedy investigation into the circumstances surrounding their death. The CP also commiserates with the families of the victims.”

Politics“I Visited Tinubu, Not That Support His Presidential Ambition by Oleys(op): 12:31pm On Dec 05, 2021
Leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural Group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has said Tinubu is solely responsible for problems of Nigeria and does not deserve to be President unless Nigerians are tired of living, and would want a President that would hasten their deaths.

Adebanjo who stated this in an interview with New Telegraph, said if Nigerians say Buhari is a terrible President, why should they expect someone who brought Buhari to power to do any better?

The elder statesman said although he wish Tinubu no harm, he will however, not forgive him for the damages he did to the nation by bringing Buhari to power unless he changes his ways.
Responding to claims that Tinubu is still relevant many years after he left office as Governor and that he is the most qualified for the office of the president from the South West now, Adebanjo said, “Don’t come and campaign to me about Tinubu. You cannot change my mind on that.

“People have asked me if I have forgiven him, how can we be talking of that, when he is not doing the right thing? I have been condemning him for being in alliance with Buhari. He is the cause of all the problems we have in this country. If he did not have an alliance with Buhari, we will not be in this situtation.”

On whether his recent visit to Tinubu is a sign of support for his 2023 presidential ambition, he said, “You press men should not contribute to the evil in the land.

“The visit to Tinubu was purely on humanitarian ground after he came back from abroad. Some people went to London to visit him; I cannot afford to go to London. I disagree with Tinubu, but I don’t wish him to die. I am the one God used to make him the Governor, I thank God for that.

“So, when he came back from abroad, I went to greet him and we thanked God for his life. We went there purely on humanitarian ground, which is typical of Yoruba people. Even if we are fighting we should not wish the person dead.

Our visit was purely to wish him well. I told him that he is not doing the right thing. He has been very liberal to me, but that is not the question. But is he doing the right thing for the country or not? When I criticise him, it’s not because I hate him. The Bible says God does not want a sinner to die, but to repent. I will continue to criticise him until he does the right thing.”

Adebanjo also maintained his position for a new constitution saying it is irrelevant where the next president comes from if the constitution is not changed.

“That is not the question now; we cannot be talking of election now,” he said while responding to question on his preferred candidate should the presidency be eventually zoned to the South West.

“Change the Constitution, the Constitution you want to use for the election is fraudulent that is my stand. I am not opposed to anybody, but I oppose this Constitution that was imposed on us and that is against anybody that is non-Fulani because it was imposed by the Fulanis. We said let us change the Constitution,” he added.

Celebrities“Yes I Had A Surrogate Child”, Ini Edo Talks About Her Baby Daddy by Oleys(op): 12:06pm On Dec 04, 2021
Popular actress, Ini Edo, has said that she decided to go the surrogacy route to have her child in order to avoid the drama that usually accompanies single parenthood.

In an interview with a popular blogger, the 39-year-old said, “I opted for a donor for me and my baby’s peace of mind. Ideally, it should be marriage before children but we are not living in an ideal world. Another reason I opted for a donor is because it scares me so much when I see banter and controversies between a mother and a father over a baby on public forums or when I see the man insisting that he wants his child if things do not work out between both parties. For me, it is the fear of what that would mean for the child. I am not someone who allows any situation control me. I make lemonades out of lemons thrown my way and have no regrets. Life itself is so fragile and short to be striving for perfection. I am well and capable of taking care of my child as I have been taking care of myself. I wanted a child and I thank God for the options of surrogacy and donors.”

Admitting that she had a child about a year ago, she said, “Yes, I do have a daughter and I had her through surrogacy. I was hoping to talk about her on her first birthday (which comes) in a few months but mischief-makers beat me to it and spoilt the beautiful story with lies. The eggs are mine, so genetically, she is my blood. I chose this path to fulfill my dream of becoming a mother. I still have a good number of eggs frozen in case I decide to do surrogacy again or carry my baby myself.”

Reacting to allegations about her child’s father being a married man identified as Kome, the actress said, “It is so sad that in Nigeria when a single woman is friends with a guy, it must mean to people that they are dating. Kome has been my friend for years and that’s what it is, period. He is a responsible family man and doesn’t deserve to be dragged into my motherhood story.”

The actress also opened up about her past miscarriages while pointing out that it did not influence her decision on surrogacy. “I had a series of miscarriages in the past but that was not my reason for going this route. I still hope to carry babies in my womb in the future, God willing.”

The incident occurred on Friday, November, 26, 2021, when Yeboah and two other colleagues were assigned on night patrol duties. At about 3:00am, the police officers were said to have extended their tour to Fiapre roundabout near the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).

Upon reaching the roundabout, they saw an unregistered Toyoto Corolla parked few metres away from the roundabout along the road leading to Berlin-Top with the parking lights on. They reportedly moved towards the car to find out if there were occupants in it and what they were doing.

The team claimed they saw a man having sexual intercourse with a female in the front passenger seat. In an attempt to arrest them, L CpL Yeboah held the victim and searched where the victim was sitting, but did not find anything.

Yeboah then reportedly started touching the thighs of the victim and tried fingering her while saying “you are naked, you are naked” amidst resistance from her.

The harassment continued for a while and the victim together with the boyfriend were eventually arrested for the offences of gross indecency and sent to the Sunyani Municipal Police Station where they reported the matter for further investigation. The victim and the boyfriend were cautioned and admitted to enquiry bail.

However at about 2:00pm on the same day, the regional police command saw a viral video of Lance CpL Yeboah indecently assaulting the victim and subsequently set the necessary investigations into the matter, leading to his arrest.

During interrogation, the police officer admitted to touching the thighs of the victim, but explained that he did not do it with any bad intention.

12 Bayelsa women arraigned for allegedly using ‘juju’ to stop road construction

No fewer than 12 women from Agobiri community in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have been arraigned by the police for allegedly plotting to scuttle the ongoing construction of the Yenagoa-Oporoma Road by the state government with juju (charms).

The accused women are Nerisa John, 43; Christiana Famous, 36; Dolphina Ochai, 34; Flora Clinton, 55; Ayibanua Lucky, 33; and Motoko Oyibadoemi, 54.

Others are Amilo Brandy, 30; Tuebi Romeo, 25; Ayibaegben Godbless, 40; Becky Williams, 37; Ayababy Kwoli, 50; and Falaba David, 30.

The women were said to be carrying out a demonstration demanding that the road should pass through their community to give residents a sense of belonging.

The police, in a two-count charge filed before the magistrate’s court, Oporoma division, accused the protesting women of conspiracy to commit a felony.

The charge read in part, “That you (all the accused) and others at large, on the same date and place in the aforesaid magisterial district, with intent to carry out a common purpose, did assemble in such a manner by blocking the ongoing Oporoma-Yenagoa Road construction with sticks, plantain, juju, palm fronds, causing persons in the neighbourhood to fear and tumultuously disturb the peace of the people using access road without reasonable occasion, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 54 and punishable under Section 55 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. C14 Laws of Bayelsa State.”

But the protesters pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of N50,000 each with one surety who owned landed property.

The presiding magistrate, A.N Asuku, adjourned the case till December 6, 2021.

The Agobiri women were arrested during their protest against alleged exclusion from the communities to benefit from the road project.

They had allegedly threatened to stop the road project if the Governor Douye Diri-led administration did not include their community in the road infrastructure.

RomanceI Got Pregnant After A One Night Stand, Lady Confesses by Oleys(op): 2:47am On Dec 02, 2021
The man Ego met on the bus while traveling to Abuja must have charmed her with his tender care or probably the freebies he bought for her on transit did the job. They were already couples before they got to their destination, only waiting for the bus to stop for them to head for their honeymoon. That same day, she followed the man to his house and made love to him passionately.

Ego was probably not expecting to be pregnant after sleeping with a man she barely knew without protection. Few weeks later, she found out she was pregnant, and worst still she couldn’t remember anything about the man, not even his name.

“I was on the bus traveling to Abuja. I was going to Abuja for an interview. I just finished school and in a hurry to get a job. My little savings from my NYSC allowance was almost finished, and I needed to land myself a good job as soon as possible.

“At the bus terminal in Lagos, I noticed a man arguing seriously with a tout who has packed plenty loads at the foot of his seat. He insisted the loads must be removed or they should refund his money. The heated argument went front and back and finally the manager of the company intervened.

“Immediately we moved from the bus station, the guy, who was almost violent few moments ago, became very charming and sweet to me. As the bus moved, he bought different things that kept our mouth busy as we journeyed. Meanwhile his eyes never left my side. The way we related, one would think we had known each other for long. We chatted away till we got to Abuja.

“I had already made arrangements to stay with a friend during my stay in Abuja but this guy was able to convince me to follow him to his house. Like one under a spell I willing followed him to his supposed house.

“When we got to his house I behave so foolishly like one drunken in love, I allowed him to make love to me severally that night without protection, and when I came back from Abuja, I found out I was pregnant for a man I didn’t know.

“He gave me a name but I couldn’t remember his name after the day I left his place. I don’t think I would be able to identify him if I passed him on the road and I won’t identify the place we went to that night. I don’t remember anything about him. It all happened like magic.

“I was not scared of being pregnant. My fears were not being able to present the person responsible for my pregnancy.

“I became very worried. I tried calling his line but another woman picked the call and said she was his wife. And she warned me not to call the line again without even knowing who I was. So, he was married and he didn’t tell me. This time around I knew I was in a bigger mess.

“I didn’t tell anyone about it because I was ashamed. Out of panic, I took several things to get rid of the pregnancy. Luckily for me, I was able to.

“This secret has been on my mind since then. I have not been able to share it with anyone. I am married now, I just wanted to let it out of my mind, and to encourage young, naive girls not to pay attention to any guy that says hello to them on transit, especially those ones that act too friendly. Most of them intentionally ask those selling tickets to put a lady close to their seat.”

PoliticsBandits Commit Terrorism But They Are Not Terrorists, Sheikh Gumi by Oleys(op): 6:36pm On Nov 28, 2021
Renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has said bandits are committing terrorism but they are not terrorists.

Gumi said this in an interview he granted recently

He said calls for the government to declare bandits as terrorists was driven by prejudice and bigotry.

He spoke before a Federal High Court in Abuja declared bandits as terrorists.

“That is unfortunately driven by prejudice and bigotry. IPOB is an organization, it does not mean Igbo. Boko Haram is an organization and it does not mean Kanuri.”

“So you can declare Boko Haram terrorists, you can declare IPOB terrorists. In this case what are you going to declare terrorists?

“Bandit is a vague description. What are you declaring? You want to say herdsmen are terrorists? That is one. Secondly, IPOB now is declared a terrorist, how has it changed? America, European Union, everywhere did not recognized that declaration.

“They have not sanctioned them, stopped them from travelling, contributing money, probably because they are not us, they are them.

“And in this case, if you say Fulani herdsmen are terrorist because that is the only words you say, you cannot say bandits are terrorists, bandits commit terrorism but they are not terrorists.”

Extrajudicial killings of Fulani Fuelling Banditry

According Gumi, extrajudicial killings of Fulani is the major factor fueling banditry in the country.

He added, “An innocent Fulani man can be apprehended on suspicion and he will lose his cattle, the same way an innocent man will be kidnapped by bandits and he will lose his possession.

“So all the people holding guns are now liable to exploit and extort people, either on the government side or the…”

“In fact they are justifying what they are doing from the experience of their own people at the hands of the rogue security agents.

“I don’t say all the security are like that but from the rogue ones we have and with that experience they said ‘okay we are revenging’ and that is why they don’t have any remorse for committing any of these crimes.

“You don’t know the crimes committed against them, even genocide was committed against the Fulani’s herdsmen.“

CelebritiesI Am Glad I Reconciled With My Father Baba Suwe Before He Died, First Son Akanni by Oleys(op): 4:05am On Nov 28, 2021
Akanni, the first son of veteran actor, Babatunde Omidina, aka Baba Suwe, has said he was happy that he was able to connect with his father before his death on Monday, November 22, 2021.

In an interview with journalists at the burial, Akanni, who did not know Baba Suwe as his father for many years, said, “I am very grateful to God that I met with my dad before his demise. I believe God is the only one who determines one’s death. I knew Baba Suwe right from childhood because I loved watching him on TV but my mother always asked me to change the station whenever she saw me watching any of his movies. However, I developed more interest in him. When I travelled out of the country, I also heard little about him but I could no longer watch his movies because of my job as a medical practitioner. I met with my dad twice after visiting him about four times before his demise. I am grateful I came home to support my dad. I am glad that I was able to show him love before his demise. Although I am Baba Suwe’s first son, I urge my uncles, aunts and other relatives to let love lead among my father’s children.”

The late actor’s alleged first wife, Suwe, identified simply as Ayodele, aka Suwe, was conspicuously present during the burial and according to her, she was with the late actor in his last moments.

She said, “I told the nurse that he was no longer breathing before she proceeded to check his pulse and discovered that he was dead. I never got remarried to anyone else. Baba Suwe was a good man and he was the only husband I ever had. He is the husband of my youth and the only one I got married to.”

Meanwhile, actor and filmmaker, Saheed Bayonle, who identifies as Baba Suwe’s foster son also noted that contrary to insinuations in certain quarters, Omidina got all the support he needed from colleagues, fans and family members. He told Saturday Beats, “Baba Suwe’s illness started long before it became known to everyone. I guess it was worsened by old age. There was no problem with money because it was readily available. He got the support he needed from everyone, including his colleagues.

“The NDLEA issue was obviously a contributing factor to his illness. He was subjected to physical, mental and psychological torture. I understand that most people expected him not to be broken over the case because he was a man but there is a limit to what men can endure. Baba Suwe’s confidence in the country could have been boosted if he was given the compensation awarded to him by the court because he never peddled cocaine, contrary to what some people believed. In the long run, he was just all by himself because the government did not obey the court’s judgment.”
