Politics / Nigeria Is A Farm & Not A Home To A Nigerian Slave Master by Oleys: 8:07am On May 04
Muyiwa's musing

Farm and Home in Nigeria

Do you know that our slave masters (political and religious leaders) do not see our country Nigeria as a HOME? Nigeria is a FARM to them. I will explain myself.

Farm is a workplace to a farmer where he tills the ground, takes care of his farm or live stocks so that he can reap bountifully. He does not love his farm but he manages it to record bountiful harvests. When he's done, he goes home to go and rest.

At home, he deliberately makes it so conducive and peaceful for him to relax, play with his children, eat, lays his head to sleep and rest. He secures his home so that intruders will not disturb his peace.

Have you heard any of Nigerian slave masters telling you that he wants to go to London, Paris, New York, Berlin, or Dubai and rest?

That is his home! A home he did not develop. These homes are made conducive for him at our own expense.

I know you must have heard this many times from these fat cats.

They farm from Nigeria, steal our money, mismange our resources and deprive us from all the basic necessities of life (food, security, good roads, hospitals, electricity, orderliness or peace).

It's not that they don't know how to replicate what they see in these foreign lands but they deliberately subjugate us so that we shall continue to worship them. Of course a slave is supposed to worship his master or a benefactor.

They don't believe in Nigeria and hence, they don't want ordinary man to have peace.

They prefer to go to different choicest destinations all over the world to rest and continuously keep taking from Nigeria and give little in return.

Have you also noticed our Pastorprenuers preach different messages to us in Nigeria but when they go abroad, they dare not ask their followers to pay tithes, sow special seeds so that they can have food on their tables, be employed or have good health care facilities.

These our god of men are so smart and intelligent not to do that mistake.

They come to Nigeria to tell you to sow 24 or 48 hrs miracles to receive miracles for you to enjoy facilities that are not provided by the state. And our mumu never do, many gullible rush to lay our hard earned money on the altar and claim it, in Jesus name.

This is why these Pastorprenuers have large auditoriums in Nigeria to accommodate more and more followers. The bigger the auditoriums, the more money to harvest.

Unfortunately, they have smaller Parishes abroad. In the guise of doing evangelism. they secretly go on vacation to rest and enjoy their harvests in a more secured environment. They will also use the oppurtunity to see their doctors to attend to their health before coming back to make more money.

They dare not allow their children, just like the political leaders to study in the FARM. Their children are studying in best and expensive schools from the proceeds of exploitation from Nigeria.

When these children grow up and well equipped, they will return to Nigeria and take over from where their parents stopped and continue farming in Nigeria.

Look around you, the children of Nigerian GOs are gradually taking over daddy's ministry. Children of political leaders are taking over powerful positions

Peace and comfort have eluded ordinary Nigerians because on daily basis, they have to struggle to survive in the FARM their slave masters deliberately created for them. This is why life is too short and brutish in Nigerian FARM.

I just say make we borrow ourselves brains this morning.

Politics / Tinubu: Nigerians Must Kick The Fraud Occupying Aso Rock Out by Oleys: 5:31am On Oct 15, 2023
You applied for a job or an exalted office with credentials not issued by your school, and you were employed..... what do you call this act?

A big FRAUD or a HEINOUS CRIME.

There are no other ways to explain this criminal act. This is not an ordinary job, it is an exalted and the greatest job in Nigeria, the office of the President.

This is an office that the occupant is expected to be filled with a man of honour, with no blemish and integrity. This President represents more than 200M people, a home of black men all over the world.

Nigeria should be grateful to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for revealing this naked truth to us. He spent his hard earned money to expose this fraud, ghost and the impostor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is currently occupying the office of the President of Nigeria.

It is now left for ordinary Nigerians to kick this impostor out of office, even if the Supreme Court decides to uphold this FRAUD.

If Nigerians refuse to do the needful, be rest assured that the next four years is going to be another wasteful venture just like the 8 years of President Muhammadu Buhari.

We cannot continue to embrace lies and unrighteousness or wallow in sin as a nation and be asking for greatness and prosperity

To be forewarned is to before armed!!

Politics / 2023: Why Is Biden Congratulating The Winner Of Disastrous Presidential Election by Oleys: 2:47am On Apr 07, 2023
By Chimamanda Adichie

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has written an open letter to the President of the United States of America Joe Biden about the recently concluded election in Nigeria.

In the letter titled ‘Nigeria’s Hollowed Democracy’ and published on The Atlantic, the renowned author questions why Americans keep congratulating the winner of Nigeria’s disastrous election in February.

Dear President Biden,

Something remarkable happened on the morning of February 25, the day of the Nigerian presidential election. Many Nigerians went out to vote holding in their hearts a new sense of trust. Cautious trust, but still trust. Since the end of military rule in 1999, Nigerians have had little confidence in elections. To vote in a presidential election was to brace yourself for the inevitable aftermath: fraud.

Elections would be rigged because elections were always rigged; the question was how badly. Sometimes voting felt like an inconsequential gesture as predetermined “winners” were announced.

A law passed last year, the 2022 Electoral Act, changed everything. It gave legal backing to the electronic accreditation of voters and the electronic transmission of results, in a process determined by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The chair of the commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, assured Nigerians that votes would be counted in the presence of voters and recorded in a result sheet, and that a photo of the signed sheet would immediately be uploaded to a secure server. When rumors circulated about the commission not keeping its word, Yakubu firmly rebutted them. In a speech at Chatham House in London (a favorite influence-burnishing haunt of Nigerian politicians), he reiterated that the public would be able to view “polling-unit results as soon as they are finalized on election day.”

Nigerians applauded him. If results were uploaded right after voting was concluded, then the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), which has been in power since 2015, would have no opportunity for manipulation. Technology would redeem Nigerian democracy. Results would no longer feature more votes than voters. Nigerians would no longer have their leaders chosen for them. Elections would, finally, capture the true voice of the people. And so trust and hope were born.

By the evening of February 25, 2023, that trust had dissipated. Election workers had arrived hours late, or without basic election materials. There were reports of violence, of a shooting at a polling unit, and of political operatives stealing or destroying ballot boxes. Some law-enforcement officers seemed to have colluded in voter intimidation; in Lagos, a policeman stood idly by as an APC spokesperson threatened members of a particular ethnic group who he believed would vote for the opposition.

Most egregious of all, the electoral commission reneged on its assurance to Nigerians. The presidential results were not uploaded in real time. Voters, understandably suspicious, reacted; videos from polling stations show voters shouting that results be uploaded right away. Many took cellphone photos of the result sheets. Curiously, many polling units were able to upload the results of the House and Senate elections, but not the presidential election. A relative who voted in Lagos told me, “We refused to leave the polling unit until the INEC staff uploaded the presidential result. The poor guy kept trying and kept getting an ‘error’ message. There was no network problem. I had internet on my phone. My bank app was working. The Senate and House results were easily uploaded. So why couldn’t the presidential results be uploaded on the same system?” Some electoral workers in polling units claimed that they could not upload results because they didn’t have a password, an excuse that voters understood to be subterfuge. By the end of the day, it had become obvious that something was terribly amiss.

No one was surprised when, by the morning of the 26th, social media became flooded with evidence of irregularities. Result sheets were now slowly being uploaded on the INEC portal, and could be viewed by the public. Voters compared their cellphone photos with the uploaded photos and saw alterations: numbers crossed out and rewritten; some originally written in black ink had been rewritten in blue, some blunderingly whited-out with Tipp-Ex. The election had been not only rigged, but done in such a shoddy, shabby manner that it insulted the intelligence of Nigerians.

Nigerian democracy had long been a two-party structure—power alternating between the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party—until this year, when the Labour Party, led by Peter Obi, became a third force. Obi was different; he seemed honest and accessible, and his vision of anti-corruption and self-sufficiency gave rise to a movement of supporters who called themselves “Obi-dients.” Unusually large, enthusiastic crowds turned up for his rallies. The APC considered him an upstart who could not win, because his small party lacked traditional structures. It is ironic that many images of altered result sheets showed votes overwhelmingly being transferred from the Labour Party to the APC.

As vote counting began at INEC, representatives of different political parties—except for the APC—protested. The results being counted, they said, did not reflect what they had documented at the polling units. There were too many discrepancies.

“There is no point progressing in error, Mr. Chairman. We are racing to nowhere,” one party spokesperson said to Yakubu. “Let us get it right before we proceed with the collation.” But the INEC chair, opaque-faced and lordly, refused. The counting continued swiftly until, at 4:10 a.m. on March 1, the ruling party’s candidate, Bola Tinubu, was announced as president-elect.

A subterranean silence reigned across the country. Few people celebrated. Many Nigerians were in shock. “Why,” my young cousin asked me, “did INEC not do what it said it would do?”

It seemed truly perplexing that, in the context of a closely contested election in a low-trust society, the electoral commission would ignore so many glaring red flags in its rush to announce a winner. (It had the power to pause vote counting, to investigate irregularities—as it would do in the governorship elections two weeks later.)

Rage is brewing, especially among young people. The discontent, the despair, the tension in the air have not been this palpable in years.

How surprising then to see the U.S. State Department congratulate Tinubu on March 1. “We understand that many Nigerians and some of the parties have expressed frustration about the manner in which the process was conducted and the shortcomings of technical elements that were used for the first time in a presidential election cycle,” the spokesperson said. And yet the process was described as a “competitive election” that “represents a new period for Nigerian politics and democracy.”

American intelligence surely cannot be so inept. A little homework and they would know what is manifestly obvious to me and so many others: The process was imperiled not by technical shortcomings but by deliberate manipulation.

An editorial in The Washington Post echoed the State Department in intent if not in affect. In an oddly infantilizing tone, as though intended to mollify the simpleminded, we are told that “officials have asserted that technical glitches, not sabotage, were the issue,” that “much good” came from the Nigerian elections, which are worth celebrating because, among other things, “no one has blocked highways, as happened in Brazil after Jair Bolsonaro lost his reelection bid.” We are also told that “it is encouraging, first, that the losing candidates are pursuing their claims through the courts,” though any casual observer of Nigerian politics would know that courts are the usual recourse after any election.

The editorial has the imaginative poverty so characteristic of international coverage of African issues—no reading of the country’s mood, no nuance or texture. But its intellectual laziness, unusual in such a rigorous newspaper, is astonishing. Since when does a respected paper unequivocally ascribe to benign malfunction something that may very well be malignant—just because government officials say so? There is a kind of cordial condescension in both the State Department’s and The Washington Post’s responses to the election. That the bar for what is acceptable has been so lowered can only be read as contempt.

I hope, President Biden, that you do not personally share this cordial condescension. You have spoken of the importance of a “global community for democracy,” and the need to stand up for “justice and the rule of law.” A global community for democracy cannot thrive in the face of apathy from its most powerful member. Why would the United States, which prioritizes the rule of law, endorse a president-elect who has emerged from an unlawful process?

Compromised is a ubiquitous word in Nigeria’s political landscape—it is used to mean “bribed” but also “corrupted,” more generally. “They have been compromised,” Nigerians will say, to explain so much that is wrong, from infrastructure failures to unpaid pensions. Many believe that the INEC chair has been “compromised,” but there is no evidence of the astronomical U.S.-dollar amounts he is rumored to have received from the president-elect. The extremely wealthy Tinubu is himself known to be an enthusiastic participant in the art of “compromising”; some Nigerians call him a “drug baron” because, in 1993, he forfeited to the United States government $460,000 of his income that a Chicago court determined to be proceeds from heroin trafficking. Tinubu has strongly denied all charges of corruption.

I hope it will not surprise you, President Biden, if I argue that the American response to the Nigerian election also bears the faint taint of that word, compromised, because it is so removed from the actual situation in Nigeria as to be disingenuous. Has the United States once again decided that what matters in Africa is not democracy but stability? (Perhaps you could tell British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who quickly congratulated Tinubu, that an illegitimate government in a country full of frustrated young people does not portend stability.) Or is it about that ever-effulgent nemesis China, as so much of U.S. foreign policy now invariably seems to be? The battle for influence in Africa will not be won by supporting the same undemocratic processes for which China is criticized.

This Nigerian election was supposed to be different, and the U.S. response cannot—must not—be business as usual. The Nigerian youth, long politically quiescent, have awoken. About 70 percent of Nigerians are under 30 and many voted for the first time in this election. Nigerian politicians exhibit a stupefying ability to tell barefaced lies, so to participate in political life has long required a suspension of conscience. But young people have had enough. They want transparency and truth; they want basic necessities, minimal corruption, competent political leaders, and an environment that can foster their generation’s potential.

This election is also about the continent. Nigeria is a symbolic crucible of Africa’s future, and a transparent election will rouse millions of other young Africans who are watching, and who long, too, for the substance and not the hollow form of democracy. If people have confidence in the democratic process, it engenders hope, and nothing is more essential to the human spirit than hope.

Today, election results are still being uploaded on the INEC server. Bizarrely, many contradict the results announced by INEC. The opposition parties are challenging the election in court. But there is reason to worry about whether they will get a fair ruling. INEC has not fully complied with court orders to release election materials. The credibility of the Nigerian Supreme Court has been strained by its recent judgments in political cases, or so-called judicial coronations, such as one in which the court declared the winner of the election for governor of Imo State a candidate who had come in fourth place

Lawlessness has consequences. Every day Nigerians are coming out into the streets to protest the election. APC, uneasy about its soiled “victory,” is sounding shrill and desperate, as though still in campaign mode. It has accused the opposition party of treason, an unintelligent smear easily disproved but disquieting nonetheless, because false accusations are often used to justify malicious state actions.

I supported Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate, and hoped he would win, as polls predicted, but I was prepared to accept any result, because we had been assured that technology would guard the sanctity of votes. The smoldering disillusionment felt by many Nigerians is not so much because their candidate did not win as because the election they had dared to trust was, in the end, so unacceptably and unforgivably flawed.

Congratulating its outcome, President Biden, tarnishes America’s self-proclaimed commitment to democracy. Please do not give the sheen of legitimacy to an illegitimate process. The United States should be what it says it is.

Sincerely,

Chimamanda Adichie

This is a viral leaked video of a section of international observers giving a damning verdict of the February 25th of the Presidential election that produced Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner.

These observers were so shocked to the level of impunity in snatching of ballot boxes, assaults, rigging, thuggery that heralded the election.

The commentator wondered why the election results of the National Assembly election results were successfully uploaded on the iRev server of INEC but the Presidential election were not successful. He wondered why till this day, the results have not been completely uploaded.

“Many international observers were disenchanted just like I was including four former heads of governments”, he continued

Politics / Nigeria's Prebend Using Psychological Warfare To Stop The Looming Revolution by Oleys: 12:37pm On Mar 21, 2023
The prebend and the “old political order” that have been holding us down in Nigeria unleashed a psychological operation using ethnicity phrases like “Lagos is no man’s land” and “Igbo want to take over Lagos” to scuttle the beautiful EndSARS protest that metamorphose to Obidient movement.

This movement has retired old politicians in the February 25th and March 18th, they are afraid they are going to be consigned to dustbin of history hence resorted to ethnicity to stop this revolution.

They used this same bigotry to re elect Governor Babajide Sanwoolu. It is so sad that Sanwoolu that is viewed as one of the most friendly Igbo loving Governor in Lagos state is caught in the crossfire.

Please watch this video to get the big picture and then understand the dangerous games of the old order politicians that are trying so hard to stop us from having the Nigeria of our dreams that will be free from ethnicity and religious coloration

Crime / Nigerian Deportees From Dubai Chained Together Like Animals (video) by Oleys: 9:03am On Jan 13, 2023
Nigerians living in the United Arab Emirate, Dubai are being deported from the oil rich country for reasons yet to be disclosed.

In a video that has since gone viral, scores of Nigerians are seen being chained together like animals and loaded in a bus heading to the airport for onward deportation.

According to one of the men in the video, fifteen more buses besides theirs have already been filled up with Nigerians awaiting deportation.

The man while advising Nigerians planning to go to Dubai, warned them to ask questions while arminh themselves with the necessary information to avoid their current scenario.

While this is not the first time Nigerians have faced deportation from Dubai, this is however the first time they are treated as being less than human, what with the way and manner they are being chained to prevent any possible escape.

Back in August 2022, Nigerians faced withforced expulsion from Dubai, had appealed to the federal government for assistance.

Since July 2021, Nigerians in the UAE have been victimised solely on account of their nationality and thousands have lost their jobs as new labour policy prohibits them from being issued work permits by the country’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MORHE) in charge of regulating labour affairs.

International laws which seek to protect the human rights of migrants prohibits arbitrary or collective expulsions and migration management is fundamental to ensuring stability and development of the state especially in a globalized world where labour mobility is a key feature.

Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Right states that “everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state”.

Politics / 2023 Election: Military Coup Imminent In Nigeria If…… by Oleys: 8:49am On Jan 08, 2023
“History repeats itself, first as a tragedy, second as farce” – Karl Marx

There was an attempted military coup in Chad yesterday, 6th January 2023. This came barely three weeks after a similar attempt in The Gambia. Earlier, a similar attempt had failed in Sao Tome.

Of course, we are aware Sudan, Mali, Bourkina Faso, and Republic of Guinea are presently run by military regimes.

All these are warnings to Nigeria. The warning goes largely to the reckless, selfish, and corrupt politicians running our affairs from Abuja to the Local Government.

If the caliber of politicians that brought us to the peak of economic hardship where we are now are returned to power in the 2023 elections, you can bet on it that a violent shakeup in the political arena will only be a matter of when; not if.

The level of hardship an average Nigerian is experiencing now is better left to extreme imagination. People are starving. People are sick and dying because they lack the means to get medical services. Many families are breaking up as wives take to prostitution to make ends meet with their children. People are committing suicide because life has become a daily mental and physical torture.

If this trend continues there will be a coup. Whether it will solve our problem is an unknown variable. I don’t pray for it, but I see it coming if the incoming administration removes fuel subsidy rather than crash the high cost of fuel of diverse kinds by making local refining a reality fast enough.

I see it happening if the next administration, instead of blocking financial leakages and the looting binge, decides to tax companies and individuals the more to raise funds.

I see it happening if an unimaginative president is elected and he cannot bring some immediate relief to the masses between six months and a year and continues the foolhardy habit of blaming his mediocrity on the errors of past regimes.

You can pontificate with the worn out cliche that the best military government is worse than the worst civilian government, you’re deceiving yourself only because you’re comfortable or part of the rot. Those who are already down that a visionless and aloof president seeks to bury alive will be on the streets to welcome any harbinger of hope.

It’s happening around us already!

Let’s be sober on the choices we make in the 2023 elections. Go beyond the emotional attachment to a candidate and scrutinise his policy agenda. Don’t vote any candidate whose policy agenda has no critical component of bringing immediate reliefs to the masses undergoing extraordinary suffering as we speak!

Donne, in a famous short essay, posed the question to know who was being buried at the old cemetery where each internment was marked with a bell toll, “For whom the bell tolls”?

The ensuing reply was, “It tolls for thee”! We will all die some day. Each bell that tolls is a warning for you, even if it’s not your internment yet.

That’s a proverb on the resurgence of military coups in Africa, our West Africa in particular.

Crime / Apostle Suleman Attack: “You Were Not Saved By God But By Your Bullet Proof Car by Oleys: 8:33am On Oct 23, 2022
An attempt by assasins to kill the founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Auchi, Edo State, Apostle Johnson Suleman failed but unfortunately seven lives of his staff were taken in the attack along the Benin-Auchi Road, close to Auchi.

According to available information, Suleman had just returned from a trip to Tanzania when his convoy was ambushed.

However, I still don’t understand why a “man of God” would be the target of an assassination attempt.
In all honesty, I find it difficult to comprehend the brutal attack that tragically claimed the lives of seven individuals connected to this contentious man of God.
Apostle Suleman claimed, “My life is in the hands of God, nobody can kill me,” after the failed attempt on his life.
His bulletproof car worth millions of dollars saved him, not God. If he had given his advance squad a bulletproof car, we wouldn’t be lamenting the loss of these innocent people.

So our respected leaders of God travel around in bulletproof vehicles while simultaneously asking with their naive followers to be protected by the blood of Jesus.

Yeye!!

I wonder if these 7 people who were shot don’t matter to this callous “man of God” since he spent so much time talking about his family in the brief video, including how they were traveling from Tanzania with his wife and other such details.

I tried looking up the identities on the internet, but nothing came up. According to media, there were three armed police officers, two of the Apostle’s chauffeurs, and two domestic workers.

Therefore, these 7 innocent people that fell from the sky are unimportant, have no families to grieve them, and are just numbers.
We hardly noticed when these victims left their various houses and said goodbye to their family, not realizing they wouldn’t be returning. When I saw pictures of two individuals who had died and were covered in blood laying on the ground and being loaded into a waiting van to be dumped at the mortuary, I was incredibly moved.

These people’s grand aspirations have come to an end.
Sad!!!

The controversial Apostle implied that he knew those who meant to murder him

I exclaimed: “Wonderful.”

While the Nigerian Police are searching for the assasins, this alleged philanderer that is more interested in using his manhood to sow wild oats to some of our young vulnerable ladies instead of preaching the words of God must be investigated and all hands must be on deck to get to the root of the matter

May the soul of the deceased rest in peace, Amen

Crime / 2nd Yr Of #Endsars & #LekkiMassacre: The Spirits Of Our Martyrs Live On (pics) by Oleys: 12:42pm On Oct 20, 2022
Today is the second anniversary of #EndSARS and #LekkiMassacre.

It is in commemoration of the day Nigerian government sent soldiers to shoot innocent Nigerian youths protesting and demonstrating against injustice in the land.

Recent events have shown that the deaths of our young martyrs that fell on that fateful day 20.10.2022 have not been in vain

Muyiwa is an advocate of EndSARS and he’s happy with this turn of events even though we have not reached the promise land

Why is he happy?

The ashes of EndSARS has resurrected and metamorphosed to become Obidient movement that’s currently shaking the foundation of prebendal and geriatric Nigerian political system entrenched decades ago

My indefatigable Nigerian youths keep fighting till will get to the promised land

Long live Nigeria!!!

At olumuyiwa.com.ng we remember this day with these memorable pictures

Politics / We Forgave You For Bringing Sickly Buhari But Not Again With Sickly Tinubu by Oleys: 8:40am On Oct 08, 2022
This man is sick, yet his personal ambition is driving him insane. Not just him, the personal ambitions of his beneficiaries are equally driving them insane. They don’t care how their self-absorbed and opportunistic intentions further degrade the nation, they just want Tinubu to be president of Nigeria because it serves their money-grubbing, insensitive and acquisitive premeditated design.

When you speak up against the danger of getting another sick man like Buhari into power, they look at your surname and tag you an ethnic bigot, undermining the fact that not everyone who bears the name is from the east of Nigeria, an IPOB sympathiser, or a politician. And if it’s a Yoruba name, they come up with the useless slogan “Yoruba ronu.”

Tinubu built Lagos but didn’t build hospitals that would cater for his parkinsonism. He built Lagos, but not good enough to serve the purpose of taking his incessant medical rests when his rapidly deteriorating health runs down sporadically like a phone battery that has long passed its sell-by-date.

I’m not as irritated with Tinubu as I am with those who support his crazy ambitions notwithstanding their full knowledge that they’re selling a bad product that will jeopardise the future of their own children – their immediate benefits overwhelm the danger that awaits the whole nation if their madness is actualized by hook or crook. End of day, they’ll come pretending they never foresaw the impending disaster.

We will not forgive you. Whether you succeed or fail. Whether you later get cured of your insanity. Whether you’re a brother, sister, or friend. Let me sound a note of warning to you that WE WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU. We forgave you for bringing Buhari. We took it as a mistake. You also want to bring Tinubu. It’s no longer a mistake; you’re just being WICKED, so WE WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!

Politics / “how I Became A Physiotherapist To Handle Buhari’s PTSD”, Aisha Buhari by Oleys: 5:39pm On Oct 05, 2022
The First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which had consequences on her for many years, following his involvement in Nigeria’s civil war without rehabilitation.

Mrs Aisha made this known yesterday at the ground-breaking ceremony for the Armed Forces Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Centre (AFPTSDC) initiated by the Mrs Lucky Irabor-led Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), where she was the special guest of honour.

Also in attendance were the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, former President of Malawi, Dr Joyce Banda, Vice President of Liberia, Dr Jewel Howard-Taylor, Member of the UK House of Lords, Baroness Sandy Verma, Minister of Defence, Maj-Gen Bashir Magashi (rtd), Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Lucky Irabor, and the service chiefs.

“So, at the age of 19, I had to figure out how to tell somebody of his calibre that he was wrong or right and that was the beginning of my offence in his house, and contesting elections in 2003 and failed, 2007, failed and 2011, the same thing – all without rehabilitation – I became a physiotherapist,” Mrs Buhari said.

She also revealed that her husband’s toppling as the military head of state, and subsequent detention for 40 months without being charged with any offence severely contributed to his ailment

“It is a reality that soldiers and military families have to live with, despite its negative consequences. Being a soldier’s wife or a retired soldier’s wife and a wellness expert, I understand the challenges associated with PTSD and its impact on military families and the nation.”

“My husband served the Nigerian Army for 27 years before he was overthrown in a coup d’état. He fought the civil war for 30 months without rehabilitation; he ruled Nigeria for 20 months and was detained for 40 months without disclosing the nature of his offence,” the first lady noted.

“Failing election for three times was a big blow to every contestant but those that have contested for just yesterday, a simple primary election, they are still living in a traumatic condition, I tried to console them, I tried to talk to them, some of them have switched off their phones up till today, just because of a primary election.”

“You can imagine me at 19 years, handling somebody that went to war, suffered coup d’état, then lost several elections, and, finally, getting to the Villa in 2015. Also, for a woman to tell them that this is wrong or right in Nigeria and Africa is a problem.”

She thanked DEPOWA for its support of soldiers facing PTSD,

“I thank DEPOWA for this initiative and the military establishment for supporting them. I call on them to ensure that this centre provides quality and sustained care for soldiers that suffer from PTSD.”

Celebrities / “Na Me Bring Amapiano Come Naija, After Me Was Davido” May D Brags by Oleys: 3:53am On Sep 15, 2022
Popular Nigerian singer and DMW signee, Akinmayokun Awodumila, popularly known as May D, has publicly bragged about bringing the Amapiano style of music to the Nigerian music industry.

What is Amapiano?

Amapiano is a style of house music that originated from South Africa in 2012 and it is a hybrid of deep house, jazz, and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads, and wide percussive basslines.
The singer’s claim comes few hours after the DMW boss, Davido dragged South African Record Producer, DJ Maphorisa for downplaying his role in the success of Amapiano music in Africa and giving his credit to Wizkid and Burna Boy.

However, May D, in a post shared on Twitter, said he brought the genre of music to Nigeria and there are awards to prove his point.

The “Ile Ijo” crooner further laid claims to being the starter of the Nigeria-South African collaboration, adding that Davido was next to him.

He tweeted: “Na me bring amapiano come Naija, and I have awards to prove that! We started the Naija South African collaboration!

“I don’t like saying sh*t like this, but y’all like putting me under the box, after me was Davido.”
