Alaafin of Oyo and a foremost Yoruba monarch, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi died at 83 in the late hours of Friday.

The Alaafin of Oyo died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.

Oba Adeyemi has served as Alaafin of Oyo for 52 years, making him the longest-reigning Alaafin.

The Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, has gone to meet his ancestors.

Alaafin Adeyemi, the third from the Alowodu Ruling House, died in the late hours of Friday at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.

The remains of the top Yoruba traditional ruler were brought to Oyo in the early hours of Saturday and traditional rites began.

He was 83 years old and the longest reigning Alaafin ever, having ruled for 52 years.

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, is expected to make an official announcement upon receiving the report of the monarch’s passing from the Bashorun of Oyo, Yusuf Akinade, who will now lead Oyo before a new Alaafin is installed.

A well known Facebook influencer, known as Ovaioza has been apprehended by the police for allegedly defrauding Nigerians on Facebook to the tune of N3 billion. Her real name is Imu Ovaioza Yunusa, the CEO of Ovaioza Group of Companies

According to reports, Ovaioza got arrested in the Lugbe area of Abuja amid plans to flee the country. After preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the embattled lady had bought houses in the United States with proceeds from her investment scam venture.

It’s also reported that she got married to a man who got her pregnant immediately she became famous.

Those who knew her noted that she was just a poor Nigerian in 2021, but suddenly became a billionaire in 2022.

The case is being handled by the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID).

Ovaioza offered investors a huge return on investment. She once claimed to have bought a plaza in the nation’s capital for more than N500million.

The same property was put on sale for N500million on a trading website after it expired.

Ovaioza also co(owns) Ovaioza Skills Acquisition Center (OSAC) and Relax and Chill.

Born December 30, 1993, she hails from Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State and attended College of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Okene.

Pastor Sam Adeyemi has been a great influence and a believer in the corporate existence of Nigeria. He has used his platform and his church, DAYSTAR to motivate mostly Nigerian youths. Boca Juniors attacker Eduardo Salvio is currently wanted by the Argentine police for running over his wife with his car.

According to reports, the 31-year-old was accused of having an external affair which was caught by his wife This allegedly prompted Salvio to carry out the dastard act.

Salvio and Magalì Aravena have been married for a decade and about a week ago they mutually agreed to separate.

She left with her two children and for a few days she decided to live in an apartment in Olivos, near the Argentine capital. He, on the other hand, remained to live in the house in Puerto Madero, the neighborhood of Buenos Aires not far from where the crime happened.

Late Wednesday evening, Aravena went to Salvio’s house and spotted her spouse’s car in the street. Approaching she saw that he was not alone and that with him was another woman.

Linda Ikeji has reacted angrily to the judgement of the Abuja court awarding N25m against her blog. In a case brought before her by the law firm Olaniwun Ajayi LP, representing Mrs Ajibola Ajayi, the court ordered her, in addition to the damages, to write letters of apology to the litigant in some selected national newspapers.

In celebrating the judgement, law firm wrote:
"This week, the court awarded 25m against Linda Ikeji for publishing false information about Mrs Ajibola Ajayi. Judgments like this will serve as a lesson to bloggers and publishers of libelious information without proper findings or verification".

In her verified social media handle, Ikeji retorted:

The popular Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji published a malicious story against Mrs Ajibola Ajayi, daughter of late ex Governor Abiola Ajimobi and her lawyer, Olaniwun Ajayi LP wrote her organisation and others to withdraw the story and apologise. This act of ommission has landed the popular blogger with an Abuja court judgement for defamation of character and an order to pay damages of N25.

Ajibola Ajayi, daughter of Oyo Governor Abiola Ajimobi, stated her intention to sue celebrity blogger, Linda Ikeji over an Instagram post wrongly attributed to her.

Following a recent encounter between Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi and protesting students of the Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho, Ikeji, alongside other online blogs and news sites, published an Instagram post purported to be Jibola Ajayi’s.

The governor’s daughter later rebutted she neither owned the Instagram account nor made the incendiary comment attributed to her. Ajayi moved a notch further to demand a retraction of the story and an apology.

According to her (Ajayi) lawyers – Olaniwun Ajayi LP – the 15 January publication, captioned; ‘Generation of mannerless children’ Gov. Ajimobi’s daughter lashes out at protesting LAUTECH students’ has “caused grave reputational damage, and untold psychological and emotional hardship to our Client and her husband”.

“Since the date of publication attributed to our Client, our Client and her immediate family have been subjected to opprobrium, public ridicule, backlash, intimidation, violent threats and hatred within and outside Nigeria”, the law firm, stated.

The law firm said Ikeji’s publication “which is clearly false and libelous was no doubt with malicious intent” and demanded

“an unreserved apology from you, for the false and libelous publication along with an admission of your error in publishing falsehood; (ii) a full retraction of the entire content of the publication and (iii) that you take down the publication from your Blog forthwith”.

“FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that if the removal of the publication is not effected immediately after receipt of this letter and we do not receive a written confirmation with evidence, of your compliance with all of the above demands within forty-eight hours from the date of this letter, we shall be constrained to seek appropriate legal remedies against you,” said the law firm’s letter.

Equally, Ajayi’s lawyer had written to Premium Times and other platforms that published the story.

In its response, Premium Times admitted wrongdoing and has apologized.

“We commissioned an internal enquiry and it was clear that the handling of that story by the editor on duty fell far short of our standard.

“Our gatekeeping process is pretty rigorous and if it had been followed, the ownership of the Instagram account should have been ascertained and more documentary evidence collected before publication.

“Before publishing the story, our reporter tried to find out the authenticity of the post from the governor’s spokesperson as reflected in the story, but by our standard, that is clearly not enough.

“We offer Mrs. Ajayi sincere apologies, and assure her that we meant no malice to her and her family, and that this was clearly an avoidable editorial error, said Idris Akinbajo, managing editor, Premium Times.

This judgement if not carefully handled by Linda Ikeji may open up floodgates of litigations against her organisation. This error of omission may adversely affect her brands.

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja has slammed 25 million Naira damages on gossip blogger, Linda Ikeji for defaming Mrs Ajibola Ajayi.

In a release on its official Twitter page, the Law firm of Olaniwun Ajayi LP announced that its has successfully prosecuted the case against the controversial gossip merchant in suit number FCT/CV/667/2018: Mrs Ajibola Ajayi v. Linda Ikeji before an FCT Abuja High court.

In the court case, the Mrs Ajibola Ajayi had sued Ms. Linda Ikeji in respect of the defamatory article published in the latter’s blog, on 15.01.17 and 17.01.17 which cited Mrs. Ajibola Ajayi as having described protesting students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, as a “generation of mannerless children” in an Instagram post with the username “conceited_csj”.

In the judgment delivered on 12.04.2022, the Court held that the publication by Ms. Ikeji was false and malicious and that the evidence before the Court showed that the Defendant knew that the Instagram account with the username “conceited_csj” did not belong to the Claimant.

The Court further held that the publication was made available to readers worldwide which exposed the Claimant to ridicule by members of the public who read the offending article.

In reiterating the trite principle of law that libel is actionable per se, the Court awarded general and exemplary damages in the sum of N25,000,000.00 (Twenty-Five Million Naira) against Ms. Linda Ikeji and directed Ms. Ikeji to publish a written apology to the Claimant in three National tabloids.

The Founder and Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor Paul Eneche, has broken his silence over the death of popular gospel singer, Mrs Osinachi Nwachukwu.

In a video posted on his official Facebook page on Wednesday evening, Enenche said he decided to set the record straight by disclosing what he knew regarding the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.

He said that he could not tell if complications from alleged domestic violence contributed to Osinachi’s death, but was only aware of her respiratory health challenge, which he helped her to secure medical assistance for.

Enenche said, “Over two or three months ago, she (Osinachi) came to see me with her husband with complaints of chest pain [and] respiratory distress. I prayed for her, and prayed again.
“When the situation did not abate, I counselled them to go to the hospital to help us know what we were dealing with and they asked if I could help facilitate that process. I called the head of our medical team, Dr Osang, who is a Consultant Paediatrician at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, to assist with their situation and he called his colleagues at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, where they attended to them.

“On seeing her, they ordered some investigations after examination, and that included a CT scan. That was done and from what the doctors saw, they felt that there was a need for further investigation, either at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital or at the National Hospital in Abuja.

“I called the doctor, a consultant pulmonologist respiratory physician at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Dr Akoh Alexander, and told him the situation, and he asked that they come to see him immediately; and they went to the Gwagwalada Teaching Hospital.

“After they had examined her there and saw the situation, they felt there was a need for histology and biopsy of the lung tissue and they asked that she should go to the National Hospital to get that done.
“I again called Dr Jubril, who is the Head of Pathology and Consultant Histopathologist of the National Hospital Abuja, and reported the issue to him so he could help us with the investigation and find out what exactly happened and they continued the management.

“The histology was done, and from what I saw at that time, the picture was much milder than what the CT scan earlier showed. So, we felt very happy that, at least, there was a relief. She called me daily and we prayed with her, she reported progress; the point came when she did not need oxygen anymore.

According to what she said to me one night, they checked her oxygen perfusion and it was 100 per cent, and we were very excited about that progress.

“That was the point it was before we went for the crusade in Cameroon. It was the second night in Cameroon that I got to know of the unfortunate incident of her passing.

“If there was domestic violence that led to or coincided with those symptoms that she came with two to three months ago, there is no way I would know. And if there had been perennial domestic violence, there was no way I would have known.”

The singer died after spending some days admitted in a hospital. Her death sparked allegations of domestic violence from different quarters.

However, the husband of the deceased, Peter Nwachukwu, after being arrested and detained by the police stated that his wife was ill before her death.

The alleged killing of Sister Osinachi Nwachukwu’s death as a result of domestic abuse by her husband, Peter Nwachukwu is still reverberating across Nigeria. Osinachi was the powerful voice behind the popular gospel worship song ” Ekwueme” The sister to the deceased, Favour Made has aired her voice in support of the aleged serial domestic abuse against her that led to her death.

She said her sister died as a result of a cluster of blood in the chest from the kicking she allegedly got from her husband. Peter.

“She did not die of cancer. The husband, Mr Peter Nwachukwu hit her with his leg on the chest. All these while, he had been beating her but my sister hid all that she was passing through from us. Before now, we told her to come out of the marriage, we told her that they are not divorcing, that it’s just separation. But she felt that God is against divorce.

We told her that separation is not a sin but just for her to stay alive and take care of her children. She will always tell us to relax that the man will change. So, when the man kicked her on the chest, she fell down and he took her to the hospital but he did not even tell us. It was her friend who lives in Ebonyi state that called her twin sister, because Osinachi has a twin sister, to ask, ‘did your sister tell you that Peter hit her on the chest? the sister then told her no.

It was the hitting on the chest that killed her. My brother had to ask doctor what killed her and doctor said that there were clusters of blood on her chest. Unfortunately, they did not tell the doctor that she was kicked on the chest because; doctor could have known what to do if he had idea of what happened. Each time we talked to her, she will be pleading for peace and if we move to act, she will tell us no, that we should calm down”,

All is not well with actress Funke Akindele-Bello’s second marriage to Abdulrasheed Bello, also known as JJC Skillz. The six year old marriage is undergoing some turbulent time, as JJC Skillz is said to have moved to London to cool off.

Trouble started when the mother of two accused her husband of squandering money without her authorisation as the largest shareholder of Scene One Production company. The couple had a heated argument at their house in Amen Estate, which attracted the attention of neighbours. The argument started after Akindele-Bello discovered that some funds were missing. It was gathered that her husband allegedly used the money to rent an apartment, where his three older children from his previous relationship would stay anytime they come visiting him.

However, he didn’t carry his wife along when he took money to get the apartment. When she got to know about it, she instructed him to leave her house. Before then, Funke Akindele-Bello has allegedly been labelled as an over possessive wife, who takes charge of her marital affairs without giving her husband the chance to be the man. But because of the love he has for her, he has been enduring her excesses. Before they got married, the two agreed that Scene One Production would be a family business with the two as certified owners and the company would be run by the two of them.

Also, aside their production company, the two would be allowed to work on private jobs as well. But after their marriage, the actress never stopped making it known that the company is hers and would only let her husband have a decent amount of money. She would freely take up private jobs, but when it comes to JJC Skillz taking up private jobs, which has no affiliation with Scene One Production, Akindele-Bello will come up with an excuse on why her husband cannot and should not take up the job. Her reasons were always that she is “protecting her husband from industry people”, while discarding the fact that JJC Skillz has to make money because of his three older children, who also depend on him financially. The issue which has created a rift between the once peaceful couple is yet to be resolved.

With this statement, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has finally declared to run for the Presidential election to succeed his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023. We reported earlier that he met with five Governors and members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Iftar at his official residence, Akinola Aguda House in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. We also said Osinbajo is set to declare his interest in the 2023 presidential election on Monday 11th of April, 2022.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is hosting members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), to Iftar at his official residence, Akinola Aguda House in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Sources close to the office of the Vice President hinted Osinbajo would use the occasion to consult with the Governors on his rumoured presidential ambition.

As at 6:45pm, not less than six Governors, including Mallam Nasir El-Rufa’i (Kaduna) and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) were already within the premises.

Other APC Governors seen driven in before the 7pm scheduled time for the gathering were: Hope Uzodinma (Imo); Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos) and Gboyega Oyetola (Osun).

A source revealed that Oyetola is in far away Makkah, Saudi Arabia, for the lesser Hajj (Umrah), fuelling speculations the Governor’s car might have conveyed his Deputy Benedict Alabi.

The meeting, which seemed exclusive to only the invited Governors and some of their aides, did not admit journalists in the premises of the Vice President’s residence.

Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky has reacted to the anti-cross dressing bill passed by the House of Representatives

It could be recalled that the bill passed by the House of Reps says that crossdressers may be facing 6 months jail terms over their affairs and influence on the masses.

Reacting to this, Bobrisky affirmed that he is not a crossdresser but a woman.

According to him, he did so many surgeries that can’t be reversed such and when the time comes, the government will see that he is a now girl.

In his or her words;

“I am not a cross dresser, I am a woman. I have done so many surgeries that can’t be reversed such as Lipo, boobs, etc.

When the time comes even court self go confirm am say I am now a girl.

“I still have many upcoming surgeries to be done. Na who be cross dresser go they fear. I have all my doctors report on all my surgeries.”

Is Bobrisky afraid of going to prison as his or her colleague James Brown has also reacted to the proposed law?

Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on Saturday, declared his ambition to run for president in 2023, saying he remains the best suitable candidate to address Nigeria’s problems.

Bakare said this at the virtual meeting Unveiling Project 16 to Nigerians in diaspora, with the theme The portrait of a new Nigeria, organized by the PTB4Nigeria in diaspora group.

In his address, the cleric warned that ahead of the 2023 general elections, the south is being set against the north, while Christians are set against Muslims.

He, however, said he remains the rallying point to restore order in the country.

He said: “The PTB brand is a rallying point for all Nigerians. I have a vision of a new Nigeria and I will play a leading role as we approach the Nigeria of our dreams.”

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared his intention to contest for the office of the president in 2023.

Mr Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State, made the declaration in his verified Facebook page.

“I stand before you today to declare my intention and submit my application to serve as your next President.#RiversAPC#”.

Mr Amaechi’s declaration has ended months of speculation that he plans to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Mr Amaechi joins former Lagos and Imo State governors Bola Tinubu and Rochas Okorocha, as well as other aspirants in the presidential race under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

In the same vein, they reportedly attacked a livestock market in Nkwo Igboukwu, an area in the Aguata local government area of Anambra State.

At least twenty cows and several goats were killed by the assailants.

The animals were seen lifeless in the pool of their blood.

Some of the affected traders and residents were seen also in the video running into the bush after sighting some men approaching the market.

They, however, returned and observed their assumption was wrong.

The traders were humbled with fear even as they examined the gunshot wounds on some of the cattle that have been killed as they stood in circles discussing.

A contingent of Nigerian military personnel have intercepted a vehicle allegedly conveying the sum of N100million cash and other items to bandits wreaking havoc in the country.

In a viral video, a soldier was heard saying the huge sum of money was found in the vehicle registered in Kano with ‘FGE-959TC’.

The money was packed inside disposable boxes and covered with loads of food supplies including cartons of noodles and crates of egg in order not to raise questions.

Pointing to the boot of the red car, a soldier said in pidgin, “All na money, them they carry am go give bandits, even this bag here, all na money, see this Indomie (noodles) carton, na money full am.

Na money full the whole motor, N100 million ooo. (It’s all money that is inside. It is being taken to bandits as a ransom for kidnapped victims. These cartons of noodles are full of money; N100 million).”

The location where the video was shot is yet unknown at the time of filing this report.
