Wise words from the padre. I wish every Nigerian would read this and realize that our nation is like this because our politicians are very adept at appealing to our sectarian nature, and not to our thinking faculty. While some on this platform are acting like this victory is a personal one, others are so dejected as if it is a personal defeat. The question should be how well did Ihedioha perform in the short while he usurped authority, and how to make sure Uzodinma doesn’t abuse the trust Imolites have given him. It is time the masses band together and keep their leaders in check. After all, leadership is supposed to be in service of the people and not the other way around. Ka Chi’neke męzi okwu! |

quirus:I’ll concede that uve got a point, but u should equally know that the sentiments of the Ibos are not represented by a misguided few on Facebook who subscribe to the IPOB propaganda. This is a tribe whose people make their living mostly in other people’s land and can’t do so successfully without assimilating or identifying with the owners of the land. Cross tribal/ethnic marriages does not raise eyebrows with them. These people voted against their own(Alex Ekwueme) for an Obasanjo a Yoruba man massively in ‘99, and I know some that have even gone to the extent of giving their kids Yoruba & Hausa names as second names in honor of their friends. Everything in this country suddenly has a religious tone to it! Is it not possible that the parents didn’t want her to have a child out of wedlock? I know the Ibos place a huge price on their female children, and would go to any length to preserve them for someone that can pay the price. They can throw tantrums all day if they want, but Operation Amotekun is here to stay, hohaa!! The real threat to national unity is an absentee president who thinks the opinions of a portion of the country is not important.
