Good Day PrinceCEE I'd Like To Commend You on taking this bold step, but i will suggest that you carefully look within those appliances you have listed and choose those you think are critical. If you were to be estimated based on your request, am afraid the cost will make you scared. For me airconditioner is not a critical appliance and also the home theatre too those gadgets consume medium to high power. You can as well take advantage of our companies free consultation as to determine your power needs. PrinceCEE: Hello!
Please I need candid advice on the best choice and also the the budget from the inverter to the installation cost.
I need a setup that'd last me for the whole day, given the power consumptions.
1. 4 laptops 2. One 32inch led tv 3. Three ceiling fans. 4. 5 energy saving bulbs 5. Home theatre 6. AC 7. Mid size refrigerator
I would want both the inverter and solar together. So what's gonna be the likely configuration and budget? |

care to please give more info? remizvxcq: I was in a bank the other day to market these high-calibre ESS. The guy in charge said that they already have back-up generator and each computer station has its own UPS. As he was saying this, PHCN/NEPA took light. The banking hall went dark, in mid day, while the sun was shining hot outside. For a few minutes, everybody stood still, while the UPS stations stated screwing that annoying alarm sound. Then a mighty roar as the back up generator started up. And died, A second roar as a bigger back-up for the first backup kicked into life. Consuming litres of diesel, and belching thick toxic fumes into the surroundings. Within a half-hour, PHCN/NEPA was back.
All the noisy beep, beep, beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, nuisance smells, poisonous fumes, embarrassment of stop-work, danger of inflammable fossil fuels in close proximity to confined premises, lost profits due to maintenance and repair costs of over-large generators, all that, could be better managed at lower costs, with a LiFePO4 ESS. Get in touch for an energy audit.

okay! with the 6mm cable, you will loss some power along that long stretch of length. so here lies the Dilemma, 2s2p or 2s3p for the future is the best and most sweet spot you should opt for, but with the cable not being so large coupled with long distance. BUT because your cable is 6mm i will suggest a 3s2p so you will not loss much power. One other thing i notice is that, you will most likely oversize your array by 15% or 115% which is great but with a down size of overcharging your 200Ah battery. .... you don't want your sweet battery to start releasing Hydrogen gas...... No. if need be that you will really use the PV upgrade, then the 3s2p option will be best advice for reason stated above, * As it will not allow the current to overshoot too quickly to overcharge your battery. These are my own POV. Topmost11: 4×150watts panels(two more to be added by feb ending) in parallel 25meters×6mm cable 12v 900vac inverter 60a mppt CC 200ah battery |

Hello Oliyeniun I'd love to work on your system for you while you gain knowledge too. I guess you have everything needed for the installation on ground? I will get the electrical schematics to you later on in the day. Yes the connection is different as you will have Eliminated some components and set up will come out different. And I will recommend a minimum of 10mm or 6-8 AWG cable from PV to Inverter (since hybrid) oliyeniun: Hello house,
Please i am trying to install a solar panel system for my parents, can you recommend a good solar installer in Ilorin?
Secondly, I want to ask if anyone can help with the schematic drawing for hybrid inverter connection. I am not an expert but I try to read up, and from my readings, it seems that the connection of solar hybrid inverter is different from the normal solar-inverter connection.
Thirdly, I assume I don't need a charge controller if I am using a hybrid inverter...please help clarify.
Lastly, what is the recommended cable size and type for connection from the panels to the inverter....this is so that if I don't get a recommended installer, I can at least monitor the one I can manage to get to ensure a good connection.
Thanks house. |

What's your operating voltage 24V or 48V? If it's 24V 2s 2p ..then all good but if it's 2s 1p then you Sir, fried the AGM Tech. Reason being that you over shot above the max. Capacity of current to be used to charge the battery. In other simpler terms Say I have 200Ah battery / 5 ... i.e 40A max. Charging capacity i.e. Et. Cetera. Now with your setup you have 2200Wp of PV array @ bulk voltage of 28.8Vdc 2200/28.8 = 76.4A of charging current which most have resulted to the bloated attributes. Hope have made this clear enough. iykmon: I need some clarification on why my batteries i have used for two years now are expanding and releasing Hydrogen gas.. i have two Solar charge controller to the batteries. Reason for the two charge controller was limitation to the rating on the charge controller. 40A and i had no fund to buy higher rating then. Battery = 4 batteries Charge controller= 40A each. 8 panels (4 {250w} and 4 {300w} ) |

Is the CC a PWM? Or MPPT And where are you based at in the country? Topmost11: I'm thinking of 2s2p configuration for my panels from the present parallel setup. The CC is 12v/24v and battery 12v. Any comments/suggestions/comments?
This is one of the reasons I'm not too keen on roof work; if I had subscribed to roof work, it means I will look for ladder and maybe an expert o do this 'simple" task. |

The picture should be able, to help better. Sun to battery means Battery is charging via PV And Battery to light means that the DC output i.e the last unused terminal is energized if you need to power something of DC up. Hope this helps. tonididdy: Thanks for this photo but I do have over 13.0v on the CC led screen
Maybe I do not understand where to check this. , am such a novice.
Btw please what's the difference and meaning of this two photos... One has the sun to batt3 and to light sign and the other only has the sun to batt3 sign.
All the time it's always on the sun to batt3 sign only day and night.

As oshomo12 as rightfully said of the state of your battery if it not properly charged. But concerning the bars of battery. I suggest you use this chat in the picture below ..aim for the 60% ... but incase you can't ensure the 50%. Good luck! tonididdy: Hello my friend, thanks for your Swift response. Yes each of the panels are 150w and currently only two charging this set up, no electricity yet.
What effect does this have on the batt3? Any?... Plus I don't know when this is full charged.
The battery sign in the LCD never goes below 3bars before the sun is up in the morning again after a 4pm to 6am usage.
Am asking this becos I can't afford to upgrade her panels now and also I don't want any effects to the battery.

If I may. Connect two of them in series i.e. the positive to the negative of the other and you do the same for the next two then, you connect the two positive ends together and the negatives using a pair of two way MC4 connectors. And you finish the setup using your existing cables before. Cheers solasola: thanks for your response. I have a 1.45kva 24v DSP inverter I bought off an aboki. i tried using it with the fridge,it could not take the surge, but alas this morning,I changed the fuse gauges and it works, but my PV array appears too low for the inverter. hence I just stuck to 12v then.l'll be adding two 300w to my setup then. thanks. but how best can I connect 4 150w/12v to get a 24v output |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 12:32pm On Jan 03, 2020 |
I believe it's most likely a frequency issue, ensure that the speed is reduced to bring the frequency down a little as that may be the problem. Or better still check your manual for the error code. itzmoni: Please my luminous sine wave 900va inverter, keeps showing me this error message each time i charge with my generator...help please. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 12:24pm On Jan 03, 2020 |
Good day tonididdy, If your granny doesn't have like say 4 -6 hours of electricity straight up to charge the batteries, then I will suggest that you add another 300W of panels to your present solar array for uptimal charging. And the panels are best being a 150W panels as this is a 12V installation i.e 4 pieces of each. Hopefully if it's what you have presently. Others are welcome to contribute ideas too. BTW Happy new year folks. tonididdy: Good morning everyone. I have this setup at my grandma's. She has round the clock electricity supply through this (TV 60watts, dstv decoder, random phone charging, led bulbs of 5watts each (at most 3 on at once).
I am worried it only has 300w panels on the roof, I feel she is using more of the battery power during the day and night.
Is it possible to get full charge from these panels and load? Any advice can be given to get better battery life fr the future? |
