I want to test a 48V inverter a guy in my area wants to sell.
Thanks.

I just need to test it for

Sorry mate, i apologize for not replying on time.
I was quite busy at the time of your @message.

I haven't really used the fine braided lines before but have always gone with flurocarbon lines.

They are tough and don't break easily but abrasion and weather aint friend with it.

But things you need to note and watch out for are.
* Know the fish your targeting.
* Re-tie your nuts after couple of fishing trip.
* If you targeting big game .. Up your line.

I can't remember how many tackles have lost due to the above, or fish that i have too.

I realize minnow works best... Found out last harmattan or winter to you.
My nephew kept disturbing to try it out and it was a blast.

Those cats love it.

I catch fish at almost every cast. grin
Update on your adventure.
And regards to the family from Africa with love.
Cheers.

Hello! I've just recently started to get involved in fishing. I was with my father on a fishing trip and caught some not too big soms smiley I really want to catch something huge! I now study many sites with fishing equipment, now I am looking a good fishing line for myself. Could you advise me something? I have found a site about fishing that could help me make the right choice for the best braided fishing line. What do you think?

Thanks for the quick response Mr Chris,
am just being a cheapskate here, trying to bypass getting a generator cabling to the inverter and using the output of both PHCN and GEN after the changeover and in the sequence of Line one for the AC1 Input and Line two as AC 2Input.
Guess its a NO GOOD Area with my diagram.

You need three inverters to make it happen. Each inverter will represent a phase.

Good Morning Everyone, Please there is this issue i can;t understand ........ am a Physics B.Sc Holder and i can't seem to find a place/position to choose.
I tried the Corps assitant CAII CONPASS 04 ..... and though advert says "medical" and the position is for O'Level applicant.
am just so confused on what to do.
please i need guidance.
Thanks everyone.

hi Ola,

you're looking at something like this... the two separate battery banks can be independently charged with inverter or solar...

please, ensure you use a quality Change over switch. I used 100A A&Bt brand ... or you look for MG brand. confirm the thickness of the current-carrying part...

Hope this helps

cheers

good evening everyone and @Olaolu11,

I believe and suggest that your multiple panels could be an issue here, they are all not in sync i.e. from a single manufacturer ..... meaning they will work at the power and current of the least in the parallel connection and also note name plate dont mean it say what is written, shady business of wrongfully stating a panel to be higher than what its suppose to be could have happen. but the weather might have also caused the drop in amps.

and even if the above was to be overlooked, the 10AWG - ~6mm2 cable that you have would make your voltage and usable amps to go to waste, so i'd suggest that you if you want to keep the panels and enjoy better amperage input, then wiring those panels in series would do you solid big time, a 30A Epever MPPT would be great .... but maybe after you might have settled down from the cable commitment you recently did.

school go soon resume, eh! grin grin

and lastly you need some serious cable management skills, check "cable porn" on Reddit .... sure you gonna be inspired.

check the chart i made a while back for the AWG-metric conversion
NB: with MPPT you'd get to keep your 6mm cables.

Good evening house,
Please i need urgent help.
My office intends to install a solar system.
The installer gave a very questionable quotation.

Below is a brief summary of the installers spec
30kw 3 phase inverter,
100 units of 300w solar panels (24v)
60 units of 12v 200AH SMF

Duh its not in my department but my colleague asked me to help him since i have solar system in my house.

I made a few calls but it seems 40 kva inverters are not too common.

Based on some research i came up with a
40kva Inverter (360v)
105nr of 340w mono panels in 15S 7P arrangement
60nr of 12v 200Ah batteries in 30S 2P arrangement

Please
1. What brand of 40kva can be recommended ( if possible capable of custom setting for lithium battery cahrging )
2. Are there lithium batteries that can be connected in series to achieve 360v.
Good evening hardywaltz,

so i will try as much as possible to take your request line by line.

For a start am not too sure that there is a 30KW 3 phase par say, NB: 1KVA = 0.8KW
but if judging by the 40KVA in your third paragraph, then that's a 32KW system, again not sure of its existence but eh! I.D.K.I.A
So I guess the installer has an indian inverter type in mind.
¬
For the panels Not bad the solar panels are good but i would do things differently.

60 units of 200Ah - to me is a bit much, if right he'd like to do a parallel string of 360V x 200Ah x 2 = 144,000Wh
[
i'd say from your findings you've things right, vaguely.
but charge controllers determine solar panels used and loads and charge time affect it all.

On the battery too, i'd say spot on.

since Lithium battery is newer to this hemisphere, I’d proceed with caution to play safe.

BUT

I would have done things differently to achieved a more simple and efficient system.

I will choose a 48V system, eh! I don’t want to die of high voltage while connecting my batteries due to a cut in my safety gloves.

Now that am certain of my system voltage, i will proceed to get premium product to cover my huge investment.

For the Inverter
Since this is a 3 Phase installation I will go with a Victron Quattro inverters/charger of 10Kva, paired to work in synergy of three phase [R,Y,B]
this way I’av bypassed high voltage and still end up with an equivalent power, even better with 1.0 pF [power factor].

Overview
I will make use of an AC - DC coupled system, so that my loads will run off my PV - inverter during when the sun is up and my DC charge controllers will charge the batteries and still be able to provide more in case of more power needs and the wake up the installation in case of battery too low to get inverter systems up when low.

So i will go with a PV Inverter of around 25KW which should be sufficient to power load when needed and especially at full power and a solar charge controller of high Voc that can charge my battery when PV inverter covers my loads.

i.e.
92 nos of 300W canadian solar panel to a 25KW PV - inverter [ allows oversizing]
and
18 nos of 300W canadian solar panel to a smart charge controller

in total 110 nos of 300W panel equivalent to 33KWp.

For Batteries
Concerning the batterries
I will go for Hoppecke batteries, of 2V ~1500Ah nominal @ 72KWh or 2900Ah Max. @ 139.2KWh

this means that
I won’t change my batteries in the next two - three years soon but more of five to seven years, and making sure that ROI [ return on investment] is guaranteed.

With a easy to understand system.

durumibaka:
Gud day, pls i need a clarification on this, 20a 12v/24v charge controller and 300w×3 mono crystaline solar panel, can it work together..
Last i checked.
20A SCC PWM types
have 260W max. PV power @12V
and 520W Max. PV power @24V
if manufacturer didn't state Oversizing is not issue ... then i'd suggest you stay within the spec sheet.

My POV is that those 300W solar panels will waste away on a 12V config. i.e. the higher voltage of Vmp will not be efficient.
except on a 24V config.

i'd suggest you try 150W panels instead as its Vmp is within 18V . .... will work better if stacked in parallel, to its 300W equivalent.

i'd suggest you get a 60A PWM charge controller i.e. 780W max @ 12V and 1560W @ 24V.
... In short ... e no fit work except tweaking around it ....
