@ jamace
OP
I don't see your confusion here. 3 days is correct - Friday(died and buried)- 1 day,Saturdy (still in the grave)- 2nd day, and Sunday (rose from death)-3rd day. Hope you are not calculating 24 hours per day? Please don't allow too much arithematic to muddle a simple fact.

Shalom.
Mar 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

with this verse how did you do your calculations?

Lev 19:7 And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.
Lev 19:8 Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Lev 19:9 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
Lev 19:10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
Lev 19:12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
Lev 19:13 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
Lev 19:14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.
Lev 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
Lev 19:16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.
Lev 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
Lev 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
Lev 19:19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
Lev 19:20 And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

Lev 19:22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.
Lev 19:23 And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.
Lev 19:24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.
Lev 19:25 And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.
Lev 19:27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
Lev 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
Lev 19:29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a LovePeddler; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
Lev 19:30 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.
Lev 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.
Lev 19:33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.
Lev 19:34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
Lev 19:36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Lev 19:37 Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.

If Jesus actually died on a Friday as believed by many people then He couldn't have risen on Sunday morning if He did spend three days in the grave!!!

Did Jesus actually die on a Friday or the day imposed on believers?

I think Jesus died on a Wednesday then it should be called a good Wednesday undecided undecided undecided

the bomb was actually detected before it went off, so none of the church members was hurt, i think only the houses close to the bomb were wounded before they could get away.

@ mantote
If it's true, then there is problem.I work and live in minna,Niger state.I have not been to church this year cos no one knows the next church and target. And its not funny at all cos the respected pastors in the country are not openly challenging the Goverment to improve security and unemployment in the country.I only go to church whenever am in abuja on weekend visits.God help us.
and you think you are wise by staying away from church but you move around and go to your office? your protection is not in staying away but should be in God. no church member was injured in the blast. but dude, be very careful cos it can come anywhere anytime.

When will our people (especially) churches learn that they deface our streets with their postals.

Please see these:

See what a bus stop been turned into!!!

Another basterdised bus stop in Abj.

This is a newly built bridge along Airport road Abj already defaced with postals.

I think our churches should stop the incessant use of postals on our streets, they are not good for us.

Christianity Etc › Re: Can A Born Again Be A Politician In Nigeria? by oloriooko(m): 2:31pm On Feb 13, 2012
Why are many Christians so scared of being part of the polity? So what are they useful for if they think they are so vital and important in this world? if Christians (i mean the real ones) cannot use whatever power they have to make things better for the populace then they are of no use here, they should just get born again and go to heaven. Daniel and the 3 Hebrew guys were very relevant to the power of his day and you are here telling me that bla bla old testament bla bla gentile era bla bla.

you should know that your use as Christians in this world should go beyond the four walls of your churches, you guys should wake up to your responsibilities rather than hiding behind one excuse or the other. Christians have failed in their responsibilities in keeping this world steered in the right direction. How can one say Christians are not the salt or light of the world cos they are scared of politics. If you claim to be as powerful as you say, then if they run politics using juju, you should run it using the power of the Almighty (if you truly possess it!).

Better wake up guys!

The best gift you can give to a child is his/her independence especially through education (all forms).
very true.

Properties and wills tend to create a lot of issues for the children after their parents are gone and it sometimes breaks the bond between siblings.
i have witnessed this cause serious crack in a family one thought was tightly bonded.

what i am saying is that let your kids work to earn what they have instead of relying on the inheritance. its obvious that these kids have no value for what their parents left behind and i think the parents too denied themselves of many things never thinking death could come so early.

so whatever you have now enjoy it but you can give your kids a good headstart in life and do not give them any impression that you have something in the waiting for them.
Family › Will You Leave Anything For Your Kids After Dying? by oloriooko(op): 1:20pm On Feb 03, 2012
Are you planning to leave stuff for your kids after you die? i ask this cos i witnessed a pathetic case.

this modest family has 4 kids but the parents died within 2 years internal with the first born at 28yrs. meanwhile, the parents left behind properties which these kids lavished without being able to account for anything. the threw parties which had never been done before in their lives, they bought expensive furniture, renovated the house at exhorbitant price, stopped cooking and started eating out which eventually made them broke.

these kids could not handle the wealth apparently, so what is the essense of leaving stuff for the kids. i think one should take care of oneself, take vacations, enjoy yourself with your family instead of stacking stuff for some kids that can change to become something else.

i think life is meant for enjoyment.

i even heard that some people go as far as Kutonu Benin republic to get female house helps. i know of someone who had such but she did not stay more than 6 months cos she was home sick, although her pay was good enough. i think we should put our hearts together to have a standard nanny homes where they are registered and tutored. the issue of using relatives as house helps is gradually fading away cos everyone is becoming enlightened which is good for our nation.
but what is the government doing to help working mothers huh

@ 2good
Why will someone that was born thesame way as you were born claim to be superior to you through religion and you believe?
stop deceiving yourself and stop displaying your ignorance. if you are not born again, i think you need to do that right now cos the path your are on is very dangerous.

All you need to be successful is hard work with a little bit of luck.
are you? and what is your definition of success? very pathetic!
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Also, why is religion only based on money, money, money, money and money?
what do you know about something you do not subscribe to? what do you know about christianity?

people are suffering so your preaching should rather be give your excess money to your neighbour in need and not some con pastor that will use the money to buy exquisite cars, jets and properties all in his name.
what do you know? stop talking like a baby.

so why do many people who call themselves pastors force their members to give in their churches?

i believe in giving and i do give but i think giving should be done willingly and not being talked into it.

i agree with your post and i say thanks for the info.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Some Find It Difficult To Give? by oloriooko(m): 2:59pm On Jan 25, 2012
@ poster.

i think giving is a grace that many christians should crave for even though every christian is a giver but there is room for improvement. giving is more of who you are than what you have; there are many examples in the bible that supports this.
How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. 2Co 8:2 KJV
Although they were going through hard times and were very poor, they were glad to give generously. 2Co 8:2 Contemporary English Version
on the other hand, many so called pastors take undue advantage of this giving nature in every christian and muzzle their members to give. i think irrespective of what these so called pastors do with whatever is given, God will still bless the giver but deal with the pastor that misappropriates the churchs' funds.

many christians are very careful in giving today cos there are many thieves in the name of pastors out there but as a christian you cannot stop giving!
