tony9k: The challenge we have is that the opposition is not any better. Maybe the next discussion is to identify potential credible candidates. Do we have them? The political class in its entirety is primarily concerned with themselves and corruption is a common factor. As an illustration PMB made a big do about public declaration of assets and his action thereafter was nothing to write home about. Not only did he almost didn't want to declare it, the declaration when he did was so shallow saying that he did not know the location of his P H building. Compare this with President Yar'Adua who not only gave a detailed account and value of all his assets but also included that of his wife. He did not make as much fuss about public declaration of assets. While the revelation of wanton stealing that went on under Jonathan is shocking Buhari's treatment of the few corruption cases that inadvertently came to light has been nothing to write home about.
The conclusion is do we want to return the country to PDP the main opposition? Maybe what we should do is to ask questions, serious one at all levels of government. The social media could be a veritable arsenal in this regard. How many people are aware that the LASG is yet to implement the ' Freedom of information' process where government will be mandated to disclose details of government info including financial info on request? Corrected some typo. if PDP is the only opposition that we have I did rather vote for them again sir.. I can't just imagine another 6 years of Buhari..its absolutely scary! |

Pres. Buhari has disclosed that the goodwill he has been enjoying from the masses remains the major factor that keeps him in politics.
The President spoke in a documentary, The Human Side of Pres. Buhari, put together my his media team and was aired on the Nigerian Television Authority on Sunday.
The central theme of the documentary is to provide the human side of Pres. Buhari that is largely unknown to Nigerians.
Vice President, state governors, ministers, presidential aides and leaders of the All Progressives Congress who spoke portrayed the President as a man of impeccable integrity, discipline & humour.
Pres. Buhari himself said his objective was to provide transparent government for Nigerians.
He said, “I pray five times a day thanking God that allows people to understand and believe me.
“This goodwill that I enjoy from the masses is what is keeping me in politics.
“And of course, my central objective is to provide transparency and accountable government.”
He said he had advised his children to study hard in other to be able to be independent because he would not steal the country’s money.
Vice Pres. Osinbajo said Pres. Buhari had turned almost 360 degrees from being a military dictator to being a real democrat.
He said the President was concerned about the constitution’s position before taking any action.
Yemi Osinbajo said, “He believes in the competence of those who work around him.” -----
He added, “He gives you things to do, and leaves you strictly to do those things. No interference at all, once he has confidence in you….And he cracks those jokes, and manages to still keep a straight face,” Osinbajo said.
Nasir el-Rufai, said he had had reason to complain to Pres. Buhari that he had become “excessively democratic.”
The governor said with the traits he had seen in the President, “I will remain with him till the end.”
Ibikunle Amosun, also described the President as a true democrat.
He cited examples of the Council of State’s meetings where he said Buhari always allow everybody to speak.
“He loves Nigeria and love to see that things are done appropriately,” he said.
He added, “I wish I had his patience. He would listen to everybody, and then take a decision. He is a reformed democrat.”
Babatunde Fashola who is The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, said the President gave him a mandate to ensure the completion and repair of the Ilorin-Mokwa-Jebba Road and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
“He asked me to advise him on how he can quickly complete the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. He also said the Second Niger Bridge is his priority,” he said.
The Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh, noted that Buhari was in the habit of formally handing over to his deputy before embarking on medical vacations.
“How more democratic can he be? I know some governors who will hand over to SA or nobody,” he said.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Okechukwu Enelamah, said Pres. Buhari respected the rule of law in fight against corruption, saying that is why the campaign appears slow.

fineboynl: i have notice something about this buhari administration, and one of them is the rapid response to issues that affect the fulani as first priority and next is Sunnis Muslim faith. they distance themselves from Shiite Muslims and treat them more like Christians. they sees others primary problem as not important like as i said here.
more like its their turn, the northerners don't care about the hardship and suffering as long as a Muslim is the president. one of the reason is to join meetings with other Muslim countries as buhari have been doing, and participate in Israel and Palestine votes.
because i non Muslim president will not partake in such things. their body has been itching when Gej was president because they cant wait to see northern president hold meeting with Islamic terrorst and for killing of shiitee.
look at muric for example that claimed to represent Muslim rights, but was silent on the shiite killing.
look as rapid response to cows thief and fulani killing. it all shows we are in trouble in the country. so this fuel scarcity is only affecting Christians? someone just opened "ipob bureau of statistics" thread...you may have a peep... you ipobs are just plain stupid. |
Politics › Re: Tinubu Urges Nigerians To Pray For Buhari by Olril18(m): 3:08am On Dec 25, 2017 |
PenPrince07: The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to back and pray for President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts to make the country better.
He made the call in his Christmas message on Sunday in Lagos.
“Today, Christmas Day, is one of the most precious days of the year for it celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ,” Tinubu said.
“Be you Christian, Muslim or just a human being with a soul that yearns for peace, compassion and hope, Jesus Christ belongs to all of us. His teachings are universal in application and speak of truths eternal.”
Continuing, the former Lagos State governor noted that Jesus, “spread compassion and charity and preached love and justice. There are no finer aims than these and we can do no better than to do all we can to follow his example.
“Let us all embrace and spread the gospel of love, tolerance and forgiveness this season and into the New Year. We must commit ourselves to peace and unity. Let us eschew all bitterness and bigotry.
“The challenges that face the country are difficult ones. But we keep the hope. We must learn from the example of Jesus who faced and overcame the greatest evil. So let us unite to overcome our challenges.
“We must support President Buhari and complement his efforts in his resolve to stimulate the economy and reposition the country.
“The president needs our support, understanding and prayers. We must fully break the terrorism of Boko Haram and completely put down the last vestiges of the terror.”

Politics › Re: Buhari Winning War Against Corruption – Lai Mohammed by Olril18(m): 3:07am On Dec 25, 2017 |
PenPrince07: Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed says the Federal Government is winning the war against corruption in the country.
He said this on Sunday at the launching of the Anti-Corruption Situation Room in Abuja.
According to him, the ACSR could not have come at a better time, adding that President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s fight against the monster is gaining momentum.
“ACSR could not have come at a better time. The Buhari administration’s fight against corruption is gaining momentum, and government is winning the war,” the minister said.
“But there is a challenge: There seems to be a feeling of numbness among the citizens about the conduct of those whose actions brought us here, those who looted the national treasury dry.
“Suddenly, these same people are engaging in revisionist history and blaming everyone but themselves for the mess their actions put the country into. Those who turned our treasury to their piggy bank are once again presenting themselves as the saviours of the nation.”
He thus called on Nigerians to join the fight against it, describing it as a duty.
Lai said, “the best time for Nigeria was when the proceeds of their corruption subsidized many and gave the illusion of economic boom. They are so emboldened as to say Nigerians are earnestly yearning for them.
“No contrition. No apologies. No shame. Just sheer bravado. Unbridled arrogance. revisionism. The Civil Society, the media and indeed all Nigerians owe it a duty not to allow Nigerians to forget, to say ‘Never Again’ to those who view Nigeria as nothing but a cash cow to be milked to death.”

Ebullience: President Muhammadu Buhari has given Nigerians the assurance that better days are ahead.
The president said this in his Christmas message.
“I am deeply convinced that better days lie ahead for us as a nation as we make progress on all the major fronts where we have set our energies to surmount the challenges,” he said.
He said the government had stepped up efforts to halt the upsurge in illegal trans-border movement.
Buhari said effort is on to “halt this wickedness against the upwardly mobile generation, and have evacuated some of our compatriots stranded abroad”.
“We appeal to them to shun the allure of embarking on such perilous journeys,” he said.
“Lately, we have witnessed an upsurge in the activities of trans-border syndicates who lure our youths to modern slavery through irregular migration.”
He also urged Nigerians to support and pray for soldiers who are engaged in the fight against insurgents and those engaged in bringing peace to the country.
“By the same token, and keeping with the spirit of the season, our gallant troops serving in the frontlines in the fight against insurgency; those wounded, lying in the hospital, as well as civilians who have suffered the brunt of evil and wicked elements these past years, deserve our fervent goodwill and sustained prayers,” he said.
“The personal fortitude of these individuals will continue to inspire us to victory as we turn the tide against the enemy and annihilate those who work against the unity of our nation.
“ As we celebrate this Yuletide season, let us devote some time to pray and appreciate the sacrifices of members of our armed services to keep our nation safe and secure.”
Buhari, who said Christmas is a time for showing love, asked Christians to draw inspiration from teachings of Jesus Christ.
“I felicitate with all Nigerians, particularly our Christian brothers and sisters, on the occasion of this year’s Christmas day celebration.
“The commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ is an important opportunity for us to show love to one another and encourage unity by spending quality time with our friends, families and the less-privileged.
“It is also an occasion to draw inspiration from the exemplary lifestyle and teachings of Jesus Christ, who constantly stood for what is right, true and honest.
“The Holy Book describes Christmas as a festival of peace, joy, healing, hope and fulfilment. It kindles great expectations in the heart, irrespective of the challenges of the moment.
“I wish you all Happy Christmas celebrations.”

Can you not mature and grow into wisdom. I thought your position is that the Igbo brought their misfortune on themselves and you have no hand in it. But you have implied in your post that it was indeed premeditated and built on your intentions of claiming back your region from the Igbo. Yet you can't prove how you were colonized by us. Every claim you will make on this is just the product of a diseased imagination laden with fear. To imagine the damage you people brought on the country as a whole because of your phobia for the Igbo. I know you think very little of the fact that the victims spread evenly across the country irrespective of tribe; I believe that the balance of disadvantage weighs on your side far more than on the side of the target of your hate. Did you also think about what one Nigeria meant when you used it as a mantra to hide your real intentions. One thing I assure you is that you have not seen the end of your insecurities.
