Absolutely, but it would be more financially wise to look for one within your area to avoid huge haulage cost.
Where is your location/state sire?

you an have between 120 -200bags or more depending GAP and which state are you based in regards to sourcing of farm land..

Why did you change from vertical trellis of your cucumber to horizontal method which is generally used for tomato.

There's another school of thought that believes sawdust/ wood shavings doesn't cause nitrogen depletion around the root zone of crops.
The nitrogen loss is active only around the few centimetres covered by the sawdust/wood shavings and not in the deeper root zones where major nutrients exchange takes place. You'll just need to augment with little addition of nitrogen fertilizer (not necessary though IMO).

I've been using this method for a while now and I've not noticed any nitrogen loss rather it's great for moisture retention and great weed control.

My observations

Thanks for sharing.

believe me bro, you don't need much paparazzi, irrigate well, plant good seed, stake and make your farm weed free, no how you will profit. Though you cannot compare dry season yield to rain season any day anytime.

Noted. Thanks.

Sawdust is known to zap nitrogen content of surrounding soil.
Using Sawdust as mulch on footpath in-between ridges okay.
But applying around your crop (on ridges ) is not advisable oo as it will extract nitrogen from your soil and plants roots just for its own decomposition. Your plants may suffer it most especially non leguminous crops.
Some Sawdust (wood) even content crazy biochemical residues

Thanks at flowmama scientificmama grin .
I have actually read similar theory about it's usage. I only want to know if anyone has really applied it for real and compared results.

ridges has many benefits, for example it Make root of your crop to spread easily..

I watch your pruning video where you cautioned against over pruning during dry season so that their roots will not be exposed to scotching sun...that's very educative.
What's your take concerning the use of sawdust for mulching cukes roots during dry season?

Great work guys. Please is it compulsory to make ridges when preparing cucumber farmland during the dry season. Or can I just till the ground In form of bed and plant.

Ridges is better but during dry season, don't make it too high.

cassava farmers will still hit it bigger this coming year, the reduction in cassava price is due to glut season, watch out for price shoot up like the inflation of a balloon, you can plant cassava at 1ft within rows and 2ft between rows,by calculation, you have 3600stem cuttings per plot.
1ft within 2 tuber crops? The tubers will jam and lock horns with each other nauh! 1ft is just an avg shoe size of an adult. I plant cassava too for perimeter fencing of my farm.
BTW, i saw your fadama stuff, i wl give u a call .

Cashew is a perennial cash crop , so on 6plots is not an investment you can fall back to, kindly look into planting cassava on 6plots, this can give you about 600k per year if well managed.
How many stem cutting can one plant on one plot?
Cassava farmers hit it big last year, considering the fact that the price has come down a bit, do u think 600k for an acre is still feasible?

I finished service this October and I want to go straight into doing my masters while keeping a cash crop plantation particularly cashew (I'm from ogbomosho and I'll be living there) for future purpose but I have few questions which I'll love to read replies from experienced people here.

Like how much will it take to set up 6plots of land with cashew plantation?

What will the return from 6plots possibly look like?

What is the planting season?

Please, I'll be waiting for important contributions.

Thanks in anticipation

Since you said you are based in Ogbomosho, Hotmass gets you covered. He's based in Ogbomosho, his antecedence and integrity speak for him. Ask any educated farmer about him, they wl direct you to his location or you can search hotmass911 on NL maybe u can still get his contact, he left the forum some years ago.

Please farming experts, is there a pepper I can plant in the southwest (Ibadan) around this time of the year on a 2 acre farmland and get good returns?

If you need good returns on your investment, target your harvest/marketing into the 2nd quarter of the year. At this period, a 50kg sack goes as high as 20k. Meaning you have to do your nursery by late Dec/early Jan. So suspend plan to plant by this time else you will jam 1st quarter of the year glut. Currently, this same sack goes for 3 to 4k!.

Yes.
Thank you for your quick response.
Pls what is the best selective herbicide for.

No selective herbicide for okra. You can spray glyphosate or paraquat few days before you plant or you plant then spray same day.

100kg, 65 mudu, 26 paint rubber
42k

Why is the higher packaging more expensive? Are both of diff quality? If 50kg is 18.5k, i expect 100kg to be 37k or even lesser.

Nice. Hope it won't harm plant like tomatoes, if its transplant immediately after the herbicide is used, or one has to wait for some days before planting?
Make sure u apply on moist soil and u can transplant after 5days. It's not harsh on veggies (like lagoon) if u don't use overdose.

Something should be wrong somewhere...paraquat/glyphosate doesn't stay active in the soil for that long. Maybe u applied excess or animal/bird pick up your seed.

Thanks you are doing great also you have been a great asset here But pls will the manual weeding not be expensive considering the size of farm , what do u think
.

Manual weeding will definitely not be advisable considering the large expanse of the farm and coupled with d way labourers are charging esp in the SW. Apart from the cost implications, i have observed from some of my neighbors' farm(tom and pepper farm) that there is usually disease outbreak immediately they finished manual weeding in their farm. Dangerous micro organisms and spores that are jejely dormant and passive beneath the soil surface are always unleashed in the process of manual weeding.
My method is similar to the advice u gave up there. For crops above a foot tall, i simply put a hood/guard on my nozzle and spray with contact herbicide, weed in close proximity to seedlings are spared, the following day it can be hand picked.

Good job , this water is good to be tested , I replied the email you sent me but didn't get a response again from you
Congrats I will wish to try this but have in mind that if you don't mulch it means you will fall back to hand weeding as no chemical will work here so you may need to consider both options on cost effectiveness
Goodluck

Great job you are doing in your poultry/animal biz/threads. As regards mulching films, it will not be cost effective for okra as okra does not belong to the league of tomato, cucumber etc in terms of ROI. A big basket of watery local tomatoes in my area was sold for 20k today but such is not possible for okra .
