Sure you can, a week or two before the interview will still suffice....so you're good to go...the most important thing is that it's recent

Good day Everyone..Testimony time. Sorry this is coming late.

Visa Approved
19th June 2019
7:30am appointment
Abuja.

That fateful day, I got to the embassy at 6am my interview was for 7:30am..waited outside for about an hour in my taxi..About 7:03am people started lining up at the front of the embassy, I ran to join the queue. I

was among the first 25 people. The normal process started, all the different check points passed it was now time for the interviews. So it was just three people conducting the interviews on windows 6,7 and 8. Window 6 was a white lady in a late 40s I think, the lady was drilling people Seriously (asking where you worked, what you earn, when will you graduate, how much is the tuition and all the normal stuff)and dashing out rejections. Window 7 with a white man in his late 30s ,he was a bit more lenient, gave rejections too buh better than window 6. Then window 8 a white old man in his 60s if not older, the man was slow buh he was given approval to everyone going to him. That was the window I was praying to go to...

It was now my turn, I got interviewed by the white guy at window 7

Vo:Good Morning ( as if he was rushing to say it first)
Me: Good morning (smiling)

Vo: please pass me your i20 and your passport
Me: did so
Vo: thank you for passing me your documents (weird)

Vo: After looking at the i20 for a few seconds...Have you been to the US before?
Me: No, I have not had a reason to

Vo: looking at his Computer and typing...Why University of Central Missouri
Me: I chose the University of central Missouri because the school offers...(he cuts me off)

Vo: How many schools did you apply to
Me : 3 schools, University of central Missouri, University of Maryland, University of Idaho

Vo: Any other admit?
Me yea University of Maryland

Vo: so why not Maryland?
Me: Because they came me admission for MS Telecommunications (because he could ask another question I explained further) So I applied for Ms Computer Science and months later I got an email that the competition for MS Computer Science was tough that they will not be given me admission BUT I can transfer my admission to MS Telecommunications if I want to without having to pay for another application fee..that I did but they is not what I want.

Vo: ok (nodding and typing) who is sponsoring for this?
Me: Family....my brother in law

Vo: Was he part of your undergraduate education?
Me : Yes

Vo: What does he do?
Me : He is a successful businessman. He has( he cuts me off again)

Vo: do you have any proof to sure like bank statement or..
Me: I have his bank statement

Vo: can I have it?
Me: passed it to him

Vo: after looking at the bank statement for a few secs..Who is Mr Tola *****
Me: My Brother in law

Vo: I'll will put you on administrative processing..we will check to make sure the bank statement are authentic and if it's not you will be banned from the US.. Do you still want to proceed ?
Me: yes please
Vo: hands over the yellow paper and the white paper and said have a great stay..
Me: smiling my 32 teeth...thank you very much

My bank statement had about 7 million plus in it. My tuition and living expenses is $18,547. I went home rejoicing because I know my bank statement was real so there was no cause for alarm. I went online to check my status on Tuesday the 25th of June to see that my Visa has be issued..

I want to thank God for the smooth interview. And also everyone on this forum.the advice, the transcripts, everything here was really helpful. Thanks guys I appreciate .Also Mr H, he helped a lot, conducting mock interviews for me, advising me on how to go about answering interviews.Your testimony is on the way.Thank you very much

A few advice I would give is firstly smile..it helps and also be confident (it's ok to be scared but don't let them see it)...do your homework( research, know everything you need to know) A girl before me that was interviewed was asked when she would graduate ( she was going for MS ) and she said 2020(next year?) The Vo was even asking her is it 2020 or 2021 ..she still said 2020..and the next thing was rejection.

Now to my questions...
1. Please is there anybody that is going to Missouri this August.PM please
2. Or maybe you know somebody that is already in University of central Missouri..to assist me with accommodation I would really appreciate
3: what is the cheapest way to get to Missouri( which flights would you suggest..
Thank you...

Hello everyone.

I'm having my interview in three weeks. I have filled and submitted my DS-160. However, I would like to edit some things in it (work history, to be precise).

Can I do this without it having any effect on the already scheduled appointment?

If yes, please how do I go about it?

Thanks in advance.

if you have not submitted the DS 160, you can always edit, but if you have, you can fill a new DS 160 form, and make sure u update the confirmation number on ur visa appointment profile so it matches...

To be honest, i have learnt from @brown2green on this thread, well, I'm not here to cast you as such, just a piece of advice, I've always tried to contact him, and though, he has given me some advice, i asked you for mock, and you said i have to give u like 5k, not free, and i once called u, u shouted at me that u dont like people calling u, just chat, so if you really want to assist people, stop charging, let them appreciate you out of their own free will, and God will reward you...that's it

It just occurred to me and I'm just suggesting.

Is Ikorodu, Lagos the address on the SOA? Cause it carries the address of the account owner and maybe we give full answers when asked any question. Perhaps that caused the denial..

What do you think Gurus

i really dont think it should matter, for instance, i put his work address in the DS 160, different from the one on the bank statement, so i put the name of his company as address, then the location as city, so if I'm asked, I'll mention where he lives, and also location of his company. Location of sponsor can't be the cause of the denial

So everyone should try to avoid it.

How about going with both the personal and business accounts?. shouldn't be a bad idea i guess

wow things have really changed since I got my F1 visa almost 20 years ago...

thank you so much to everyone that contributes on here. I used a lot of the information from this thread to prepare my sister for her interview. she has been visiting the US almost every year since she was a handheld baby. I will try to give as much of a transcript as possible to give back in my little way.

background: undergraduate, sponsored by parents who live in Nigeria. i20 deficit - $18,200, SOA belonging to our dad: around $40k for the past 6 months

greetings and passed VO her i20
VO: Why did you choose business administration?
A: she gave her reasons and said she will be focusing in Human Resources
VO: when last did you visit the US and for how long
A: last year and for two months
VO: Why did you stay for two months
A: for Christmas and to see sister (me) who had a baby
*tried to give documentation for birth of her niece and the VO pushed it back*
VO: what does she do
A: gave answer
VO: what company
A: forgot and hesitated
VO: what are your plans after graduation
A: to return to Nigeria and work for a few years before getting MBA
VO: unfortunately you don't qualify for the visa

To applicants:
If you have any immediate family member here, please remember all their basic info, where they work, how many kids, address, immigration status and how they got it, etc.

If you are planning to come and study and have all your money, please apply to schools in Canada as backup so these people don't delay your life.

If you have no travel history, fear not, because as you can see travel history doesn't equal visa.

He didn't collect any document from her apart from i20 and seemed to be hung up on the fact that she spent 2 months here on holiday when she was given a two year visa and has been to the US at least 15 times, as well as other countries. If they are discriminating against non-STEM degrees, well that's just hilarious. We won't be reapplying and will try the more peaceful, serene and happy Canada. grin

Good luck to all and thank you for sharing all your experiences.

It is well, but spending 2 months na issue again? did the VO expect her to just spend 2 weeks ni....well, God will make a way!

Thank you. You’ve candidly expressed my concern. It’s not uncommon here to see people praying for grace and calling on “glory” when they paid bribes to expedite their passports, are presenting false SOAs and clearly lying at their interview. I’m not sure how we got to the point where we treat our faith as a buffet.

If we did things right in the first place, it’s not out of reason to think we may even get to a point where, like citizens of other countries, traveling the world does not require a 7-day dry fasting and prayer... just a passport and a ticket.

well, my point is it isn't wrong to pray, as long as you are obeying visa rules, not using fake documents like statements which you pointed out, and my point remains that while i understand what you're saying, you shouldn't generalise like everyone is like that,
you can't use a fake bank statement and be praying for Grace, God cannot be mocked....cheers!

Your tone basically exposes you. Emergency “Christians”. Galatians 5:20 would be a good start.

Your invocation of “god” is no better than Aladdin’s lamp and his genie.

You sound bitter, I’m not. Simply making an observation which obviously hit you the wrong way hence the overly aggressive response from you.

All it takes is one post to remove the mask of false religion, to reveal your true nature. God isn’t impressed.

There would be no need to “render assistance” on visa transcripts if indeed our professed faith on here is who we truly are... that we are honest, faithful and truth seekers. Germans don’t need visa transcripts, yet we who call on “god” the most do. Think on it.

it's your headache, keep ranting about people involving God in their process, since you obviously are the only one here with "Christ's nature".

The obsequiously religious nature of posts here never stops puzzling me. It’s almost as if every Nigerian suddenly finds “god” when it comes to visa applications. You can barely read 2-3 consecutive posts without running into gushy phrases like “it shall end in praise”, “glory”... what in the world is an “angel of visa approval”? In all my years of reading the Bible, I never thought His glory was limited to granting Nigerians exit visas from the hell on earth they created for themselves, despite all the massive churches they’ve built.

I've never seen you here rendering assistance on various visa transcripts being posted here, you only come here looking for one sort of fault or another when it comes to people's acknowledgment of God in their visa process. no matter the preparation one does, there's always a place for acknowledging God, and seeking for his grace,

I was thinking not to share a ‘delayed’ visa transcript Incase anything goes wrong (coz of shame lol) but after a deep thought, I realized people learn from both approved and delayed transcript!

My transcript yesterday 14-06-2019 at Abuja Embassy (2nd attempt) first was in Lagos, December 4th 2018 (am always meeting a man as Vo lol)

N.B: these are just what I can remember (95% but not 100% )

Vo- good morning and how are you?
Me- am fine, thank you and happy America’s flag day
Vo- oooook (looking suprised) thank you.
Why are you going to Troy ?
Me- to pursue my second bachelors degree in computer and information science
Vo- (stoped typing and focused on me, looking straight into my eyes) why second bachelor?
Me- Firstly, passion and choice; unlike my first degree that happened by chance and not by choice; I have enormous passion for computer and info science . Secondly, job opportunity; you see sir, this program already guarante me a job opportunity with the EFCC through my uncle working at their operation department in lagos.
Vo: (looking satisfied and going back to his typing) Why did you choose Troy ?
Me- apart from the partial scholarship given to me and the academic excellence Troy is known for, I chose Troy coz their course structure is more flexible and their curriculum perfectly suit my study plan .
Vo- (also looking satisfied) ooook!
Vo- what othe school did you choose ?
Me - Minot State University
Vo- who is your sponsor ?
Me - (although I filled my step father in my ds160)
My mother and my step father
Vo- do you have any proof of your mother sponsoring you ?
Me- I only have my step father’s here
Vo- pls gv it to me (opened the first page and start doing some calculations)
Vo- I regret to inform you bla bla bla ....

NB: Deficits was 7.6M and the account balance was 12.4M (the account was very legit, not fake, I just don’t know what happened, only God knows )

I just want to thank everyone contributing to this thread one way or the other, I pray God be with you and may you always see his favor too. I learnt a lot here tho .

And to @fairheart, God bless you for conducting mock for me a night to my interview (even tho you were angry that I was jus asking for a mock a night to lol) am deeply grateful.

I think it’s time to let go of America’s dream lol
Money no too dey for now again lol

Thanks once again everyone
Regards!

i really think you should be going for a Masters degree , not another BSc, and you mentioned passion and choice as a reason for going for another degree, i really don't think that's convincing at all....don't give up, try and go for a MSc and prepare better
