There has been a recent controversy on whether a course like 'comedy' should be included in our nigerian universities courses to enable interested students study.

What do you think about this and whats the reason?

Sincerely speaking, nature abhors vaccum. And in this part of the world, the reality is that we are a spiritual people either through christianity, islam or trado (cultism) so no one here can stay without being one. That is the honest reality. U just need a form of spiritual power to survive here however u look at it. Lets continue to go to Chapel pls...we are best safe there.

how about building a chapel, mosque and shrine, then ask students to compulsorily choose one out of the three. That sounds more tolerant than forcing everybody to the chapel.

i truly prefer religion but they don't really have to force anyone to go to chapel and all.

NOT going to chapel doesn't neccessarily mean they're cultists, we have muslims, we also have atheists.

Interesting. However, if you know you can't conform, don't go to such schools. I as a Christian will not go to a school where the hijab is enforced, and I'm sure the vice versa pertains to the muslims.

If you can't conform, find an alternative because most private schools in Nigeria are built on the foundation of their own unique ideologies.

errm, what if there are other admirable features of the school like standard facilities of which other schools don't have.

Would you because of this not go to such schools?

When you see all these schools forcing people to go to chapel and all, you'll begin to wonder if there's an interpretation to the expression, 'every citizen is entitled to freedom of religion'.

New reports reaching CAMPUS DAILIES has it that the Akwa ibom state government led by Mr Udom Emmanuel is owing a 16month old salary still yet to be paid at the time of this report.

The victims of this unfortunate incident are the 279 staffs which were employed by the Akwa ibom state university.

These staffs have expressed their displeasure at the incident through series of tweets(@aksu2014staff) aimed at the Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel.

They also alleged that the state govrnment has resorted to issuing threats instead of paying them their dues. The forms of threats are not known to us.

Some of the tweets read;

1)'Udom Emmanuel is speaking of creating new jobs for over 5000 youths when the existent ones are not being paid. #hypocrisy'

2)'imagine that staffs ask for their rights and the government turn around to threaten, now they have all cowed due to threats'

3)'we state categorically... AKSG owes staff in Akwa ibom state for over 16 months and rather than pay it issues threats'.
