The management of the university of ilorin has denied sending some girls back during the just concluded post utme examination for indecent dressing.

The deputy vice chancellor Prof.(mrs) N.Y.S. Ijaiya stated that candidates were already aware of the school's dress code and regulations through its website and had no reason to be sent back. She also said that those who dressed indecently through wearing of short skirts were only counselled and emphasized that they were never sent back.

Recall that the school was reported to have sent back about four post utme candidates due to indecent dressing.

New facts have emerged concerning the cause of the indefinite strike which the Alvan Ikoku University of Education has recently embarked upon.

Speaking to a comrade in the university, he confirmed to CAMPUS DAILIES that the real reason why the school was on strike was because of selfish lecturers who didn't want their juniors to rise above them. Some lecturers have just been promoted to professors and their counterparts which are still having their P.hd and happened to be superior to the aforementioned before their promotion are not happy with it.

These newly promoted lecturers are alleged to be behind the banner at the school gate which reads that they want a vice-chancellor and not a provost. The reason for this is that 'only professors become vice-chancellors' but p.hd holders can be provosts. This explains why the p.hd holders are kicking against it, they do not want to be excluded in the leadership tussle.

CAMPUS DAILIES has also gathered that the former provost 'Dr(mrs) B.C. Ijeoma' is strongly opposing this move as she is not yet a professor.

The school has therefore gone on an indefinite strike and we do hope this is resolved as soon as possible to enable students come back and continue their primary duties.
