I don't agree. The cost of running government is too high. Yes, salary is a recurrent expenditure, but if they show you how much they pay in a month, you will realize it's not big.

The main problem is their own recurrent expenditure. Take for example, why on earth will a common commissioner be going around the town with 5 cars on his convoy? How much is he spending on fuel, tires, servicing, feeding those he goes around with?

And if there are say 30 commissioners, you can imagine how many cars and humans they are spending on.

How about SSG? Deputy Gov? Gov himself?

In addition to how much they are looting through inflation of contract, security vote?

Then imagine those in the federal setup, ministers, both Junior and senior, SGF, vp, president, chief of staff.

Then you think about the state legislatures, LG chairman, Federal legislators, senators?

Salary or minimum wage is not had to pay. But these people are so used to these opulent lifestyle that they wouldn't sacrifice it for anything.

Why the heck do we have both the senate and the house of reps?

I still maintain that our cost of governance is too much. That's why we can build roads, hospitals, schools, railways, or pay salaries.

the problem is not Tinubu, the problem is the party rank and file. THEY are the ones against Anbode because of the way he treated them. Tinubu cannot take panadol for another mans headache because if Tinubu defies the rank and file, they will turn against him. They have told him this in no uncertain terms. A good leader understands the pulse of his followers and does not go against it.

Glad to meet someone at last with a Rational mind like yours. These days it seems like supporting Buhari is synonymous with Not wanting the country to progress. But as a Rational true Progressive, one should be able to see that Nigeria as a country is very Ethnically Divided, and so that means Competence comes second to ethnic background when the nation is selecting its leader, a sad reality. Since then the southerners are usually more progressive minded than the North, i have decided to place my stakes on a southern presidency as the 'closest' path to us getting someone with a progressive and 21st century mindset as president. And so to achieve this goal, The current president should be allowed to have his time, paving way for the two parties to be able to present different candidates from different parts of the South(either SW/SE/SS) for us to choose from.. thereby greatly increasing the chance that we might pick someone with the mental capacity and competence to engineer a real positive change in this country. You are asking too much bro. NYSC is not a stepping stone to privileges. If your request was tenable and do-able, no Corps member would ever be unemployed during and after national service.

Some people just walked into privileges while some work for privileges. Life is a risk, go out there and take it as a man. Don't wait to be shown life. Brilliantly worded.
