Nice list...omeruo is still a problem there...
that dude was someone I looked up to several years ago....to become the chief super eagles defense minister....
I will even prefer efe ambrose to him..presently....base on club form...afterall...efe rarely makes silly mistakes..like omeruo...
I won't want any rookie in his place....

the young ones that wanna play for us should await after the world cup...
If I remember correctly , it was baba Icons that said that most cadet players dont end up becoming what was anticipated of them and rightly so this has manifested and kept going. In the case of Omeruo, this guy was like a rock and great ball player during the U20 world cup that had Ajagun,Musa,Azeez, Kayode and co in the team and though we have finally found Uche Okechukwu replacement but lo and behold I watch Omeruo depreciated and was playing like grandpa. I think he is picking up his pieces and hopefully he makes the team.

You're yet to answer my questions. undecided
You meant the origin of boubou which your tribe named agbada and the Igbos konkosa? Bros, I know your people wish to claim that one but it has root in ancient Malian empires when the griots entertained Mansa Musa with the KORA.

Well, a boubou (or bubu, or grand boubou, or grand bubu) is an African garment worn by men and women in much of West Africa, and parts of Central Africa. ... Its name comes from the wolof 'mbubb', which made it into French, as boubou.Apr 12, 2013

I got that part but this is slight deviation from the agbada thing.

Kindly explain those two pictures(Bàtá drummers) I posted & their connection with Senegalese agbada?

You also need to let us know what the Yorubas had before their own agbada... simple?
I bet that picture of drummers were not taken in 12th century...lol. You funny die. Why are you showing me pictures taken in '70s.

In essence the red colour is only peculiar to the Igbos but not the cap itself.

Interesting! cool
Let me make it easier, Igbos didnt make that cap, the Igala merchants sold it to Aguleri chiefs who has nze na ozo in the 18th century to compliment their status.

omooba969:
Kindly shed light on this explaining its origin?

And don't forget that hat that complements the agbada?
Shed which light? The agbada you wear originated from the northern sahara, period. No more lights to be shed....Just like words like sariki, wahala, alafia etc were borrowed from the hausa.

The agbada = west african attire

But the red cap = ibo cap,

Why is it not West African cap? grin

I clearly understand your sentiment, no shaking. grin

You need to let us know what the Yorubas had before their agbada quoting the time/age/centuries?

Because in Nigeria the red cap is only consistent with Igbos. The Igala and the Housa wear a version of it but that very particular color and its variants are strictly Igbo and it comes with responsibility. Its an nze na ozo cap and not for fashion. However, today, every Igbo person find in convenient to wear it, but in Anambra only ndi nze na ozo wears it. They even have a female wearing okpu nze which is why Anambra people look down on a lot of Igbos because they have no respect for our culture

Ayam waiting. cool

Sogrin you sef notice am, our Yoruba agbada with their red capcheesy.

The two don't even match. cool

Omo Òodúà tòotó nimí ! cool
just like yorubas borrowed Islam from the north boubou which yorubas call agbada was borrowed from your housa neighbors to your north. you didnt invent agbada.....The Igbos borrowed it from our Igala neighbors.

Stop embarrassing yourself and your ethnic group.

For those who doesnt know what is OBU/OBI/IBA its a titled man (NZE NA OZO) chamber where he receives visitors, prays to his chi/guardian spirit and his wife is not allowed to stay there because of mensuration which can defile the man's prayers and codes. Great Igbos like Zik, Emeka Anyaoku, Ojukwu, Akweke Orizu, Chuba Okadigbo etc all had Iba as we call it in Idenmili and Onicha areas.

Christiana Adelana, née Egbo. Always have been beautiful, always a drama queen.

I remember that day, when she was rude to a teacher and he gave her a portion of grass to cut on the school field as punishment. She had barely spent five minutes on the field when she dramatically 'fainted' like an ogbanje having a seizure, only this wasn't a seizure but a gimmick to avoid cutting the grass. Of course the whole school erupted because the 'mighty' Christiana Egbo had fainted.

She was rushed out of the field to the sick bay while the teacher who gave her the punishment looked on with bemusement (he knew she was pretending). After 5 minutes she was 'revived' and told to 'rest' for the remaining part of the day.

Yeyenatu cheesy

Good to see her doing well for herself. Another bun is also in the oven after a long while. Thank Jesus! cheesy
You went to same school with this lady ?
She is actually a good actress.

Chairman Enomakos, I salute you like a young German soldier. Longest time, sir.

Yes, between 1990 and 2000s they were floating between mid table and top but Julius berger was never a force just like Udoji and jasper never was. The argument was whether Julius Berger was one of the best club in the land and not whether they once won something nor were good.

because this French coach don't have any utter regard for him and musa.....
the man is blind to nancho abilities and same wit musa....

any club coach...like westham, Bournemouth, Brighton etc will play him....but this very coach have no regard for him....

let's be optimistic...Leicester was never the best option for him....their style of play never suits him........

I understand a better world cup performance will push his stock....but he need to be playing competitively until then...
Frankly speaking I dont think Iheanacho will thrive in a fast pace setting with intense football like Premiership but is it not beginning to look like we are making excuses for him. However, Iheanacho's biggest challenge is not pace but simple and elementary ball control! Iheanacho need to stop running and face the music...How many years is it gonna take him to fix his miserable first touch. People are here blaming the coach but just the other day Iheanacho gave away a pass that resulted to a goal against his team. I swear , if I was his coach I will turn him to a ball boy...which kind thing be this ?

He need to buy a personal trainer to work on his first touch.

Yes, they were there as one of the clubs sweating to stay afloat just like Jasper United, Gabros and Udoji but these teams did not measure up to 3SC, Enugu Rangers, Stationary Stores, Spartans later renamed Iwuanyanwy Nationale exploits nor Enyimba fc ,of recent , which is he most successful club in the land.

realpoacher:
He was one of our creative playmaker as you rightly said, or so I thought, until we met a formidable team and unfortunately he couldn't measure up. Obviously as a player he is below average.

On his chapter, I am forced to want to agree with @komern that levels exist in football. And that is why a player playing and performing in top leagues (which translates as top level) is far better than a player in lower/poor leagues (low level).

I watched Imoh Ezekiel run rings at the earlier stages of the Olympics and was in complete awe of his performance. His runs, dribbles, cutt ins, and decisive crosses into the box was an art to watch. I daresay that most of our wins were inspired by him, he tormented the oppositions 2 and 3 no matter where he played between 7 or 11. He was a joy to watch, several times he left the defenders panting after turning them inside out coupled with his pace.

But there was a big BUT!.. When he jam him level in Germany, he himself know how far. Dude couldn't complete one successful dribble. Heck! I could count the number of times he was allowed to control the passes that came his way. All he could do was to pass sideways or backwards all through the semifinals against Germany.

I was slighted, what the hell. We were 1/2 goals down and each time Imoh Ezekiel got the ball, he lost it, he couldn't even beat anyone of his German marker.

That match confirmed my research postulations about football that "once you no reach, you no reach" there is absolutely nothing you can do once you are not good enough against your opponent.

Eg: Chances are that arsenal will lose 8 times out of 10 to Barcelona, why?.. Because against Barcelona, Arsenal no reach! Simples.

The truth is that the teams we played against enroute the semifinal were wacky, and when we came up against a better side in Germany, Imoh Ezekiel entered "ghost mode", not just him but many of the them that day including Nura Abdullahi who was faced one on one with the German keeper but fumbled.

Now going into the world cup, we are going to be facing top sides right from match day one, do you honestly think that Imoh Ezekiel can deliver better than what we have on ground presently?... The current players delivering for us are at best average. Imoh Ezekiel to me is not even average but below average, especially considering his current form. Canvassing for such a player right now is a disservice to football as a whole.

At this stage of our preparations towards the world cup, if you must suggest a player be sure that such a player is above average atleast before we can start even analyzing who he is going to displace from the current team.
Firstly, this writer started with pouring encomium on Imo Ezekiel and ended with condemning the guy to eternal mediocrity.
Next is Moses Simon , he was raise his game and start playing with purpose else he will soon be forgotten.

Oga icon4s pls do not justify Ezenwa invitation, it was pure injustice for a second keeper in domestic league making national team and Dosu Joseph was never a bench warmer talkless of third keeper as at 93-96 in any club sides in Nigeria.
You guys dont understand this, Ezenwa was not invited based on his current form as at when he was invited rather based on confidence inherited from previous performances. And I know you will ask are there not other goalkeepers doing well, well , there were but the goalkeeping job is a little different than outfield players. Keepers are mostly invited based on previous performances which usually means they have experience which translates into confidence and a crucial game like the one against Cameroon and Zambia is not an ideal occasion to try news hands.Ezenwa heroic performance at previous CHAN was still following him and lets be honest, my nigga rose to the occasion when he was needed.

Thats probably why Julius Berger sucked so badly. If a basket like Joseph Dosu was your best choice then you must really suck.

Those 'Agali reports' were false. Agali himself said that he did not give interviews to the press.

There have been recent reports in Tunisia that Sokari has been called by Rohr for the March friendly. That is what started the discussion on Sokari.
So, nothing has been heard about Joel Obi as regards his invitation ?
Secondly, is Sokari a natural attacking midfielder? Is he a suitable replacement for Mikel? I remember he was once dubbed the little "Messi" but I dont have a good assessment of him.
