My thoughts exactly. On the other hand, why should we employ Sophie Okonedo for the role when we already have home based Bimbo Akintola or Genevieve Nnaji?
Well you cant compare!, If you look at Sophie role in Hotel Rwanda you would see that she fits the bill and remember its not a low budget film, you would see that shes a far better actress, she is more experienced, she could handle the pressure that comes with a big project and she could also leave her comfort zone ,

You can do better by doing away with hate and bad belle.
Its not hate or bad belle, people are going to put Miillions of $$$$ up and they would want their movie to be a flop

Look at Hotel Rwanda (2 Oscar nominees)
Look at Last King of Scotland (1 Oscar winner)

am sorry as good as the Nigerian actors are they are better options
TV/Movies › Re: Chimamanda's Book Picked For A Hollywood Movie by omar22(m): 8:04pm On Oct 14, 2009
Look for other actors in Nigeria, I mean real actors. Someone already suggested Yaya Da Costa and Chiwetel Ejiofor which would be good.
It wont happen, may be those who are in the background but the role would go to a hollywood star WHY? because they know how to go from one end to another end when it comes to characters,

Nollywood actors act the same way, they speak the same way despite the roles are for different characters
TV/Movies › Re: Chimamanda's Book Picked For A Hollywood Movie by omar22(m): 7:13pm On Oct 14, 2009
Question for all of you if you were going to finance the movie would you go for a Hollywood star or a Nollywood actor?
TV/Movies › Re: Chimamanda's Book Picked For A Hollywood Movie by omar22(m): 3:55pm On Oct 14, 2009
You still need an African with the accent
EXCUSE ME,  within weeks someone would train themselves to have a Nigerian accent, Didnt Leonardo Di Caprio have an African accent in Blood Diamond

Danny Glover in Mandela or Forest Whitaker in the last King of Scotland, I do rate Olu Jacob but for a leading role, no chance!!!

OMAR 22: It appears intelligent exchanges are beyond your mental capacity. Your baseless mention of AMAA or 'shagging' proves how unaware you really are about the subject that you are talking about, yes how little you must know, even about 'shagging'. Stop talking about things you know nothing about
If am correct, I cant remember talking to you, which part of open forum you dont understand? dont I have the right to have an opinion about someone, do you think this is an extension of Nigeria's constitution where I wont have a voice! if you dont like what I wrote why dont you go and jump into the River Thames, If Genevieve is your family! tough on you, she is in the spot light and she is being a subject of a topic to talk about on this forum! the last time I checked the limitation to freedom of speech does not extend to this forum!!!

No abeg. . .Dont pour sand inside the garri!
We dont want a buncha idiotas under the banner of nollywood please
I understand,  most if not all actors and movie stars act the same way, speak the same way, pose the same way in all of their movies which is a problem,

I am wondering if they will pick Nigerian actors and actresses for the movie.
Hell no, May be (and a big one would be Sophie Okonedo) but the rest would be from Hollywood they might not be house-hold names but definitely from Hollywood or Pinewood in England,

If you look at "Tears of the sun" had hollywood actors/actress as the major cast no Nigerian unless if they are in the background who would seen for a minute or two.
TV/Movies › Re: Nollywood Not Better Than Ghollywood — Yvonne Nelson by omar22(m): 12:24pm On Oct 14, 2009
Ghanaians have got better equipments and setting than Nigeria, but the acting is begging, it could make a cat cry a river!!! I once saw a romantic movie (Ghollywood) its like asking Pa Aluwe and Rita Dominic to play a love scene, all kissing luvy dubby! I felt like vomitting, the sound setting was very good but costume? ha you would think its a Sci fi movie (African style)

I would give it the next person I see on the road!!!!!

My problem is, why did go back to a manager that has failed in the past, even they do warn a successful manager not to go back or else you would tarnish your image and reputation. The reality is the NFA or NFF would not take Amodu serious basically they don’t take the indigenous coaches serious they see them as a figure-head. Before the youth team left for Holland in 2005, Siasia was denied money to fund a training camp in Holland by the NFA, but when a certain state governor wrote him a cheque the NFA were chasing him! Why? The players are the same, they don’t respect the manager, they have the 5 days ruling but you see them getting to the eagles camp a day before the match after all they have been doing where cat-wheels and light running! Am sorry but this is wrong this has been going on since the days of Keshi & Co. can you imagine Jose Mourinho saying your 5 minutes late your place is gone forever! I could remember Mikel Obi arriving late to Cobham, well lets just say his agent Shittu who came to beg Jose.

May be if Nigeria spread their net wider and look at players and give them a chance we wont rely on the lazy bunch of so and so’s

When my favourite black babe is called HALLE BERRY!!! compare a 42 yr old to star to Genevieve!!!! why would I be bitter, I have bumped into her in one of the night clubs in London,  I didnt rush to ask for her autograph or speak to her why? I have seen RMD, he is a humble person and not an arrogant gits like the supposed so and so,

Well why dont you ask Genevieve, she could explain the experience!!!

True!!!

He should be FIRED

If the boys are playing well who gets the glory? Coachito of course and when the boys bleeps up whose head is supposed to go under the AXE? Coachito of course. So what else are we talking about?
SPOT ON!!!

The buck stops at the top!!!

he looks like a Nigerian version of Avram Grant!!! no spark, no motivation, no respect,

Look at when Fabio Capello took over England, he told everyone one of them that they would be dressing like school boys with tie,

Naija players would get to camp when they feel like

When Capello stand on the touchline, its like have Idi Amin watching the team with different types of guns pointing at the players,

but Amodu he looks like his is somewhere else, Osaze (God bless him) was directing instruction, its like watchin Steven Gerrard taking the game by the scruff of the neck!!!

You sound like someone who grew up on cow milk, Yes Amodu is a "YES MAN" actually he is a "hand puppet! Amodu could dismiss the fans because they didnt put him there in his role. Tell me why would they bring back a man who has failed twice in the past? why dont you engage your brain first before you sprout rubbish

You keep throwing blind accusations at will, how pathetic. So because he has been brought back, that is your proof he is a yesman. That is your logic level?

He failed? He failed by rescuing us from Bonfrere's disastrous start to qualify for the WC? Can you stop talking from your arse?

Olofinjana attacking midfielder!!! wow!!! clap for yourself!!! being an attacking Midfielder is difference from a holding player trying to attack. Get your facts right. You could defend "coco the clown" as long as you want, to me the Nigerian National team is not a job for the likes of Amodu, may be the Somalian U21 team if hes lucky

So I take it you do not know that Olofinjanas normal position in Wolves, Stoke City and Hull is mostly offensive midfield and, secondarily, central midfield?

If you know nothing about football, stop commenting on it.
Well listening you is like listening to a Scratched Bonny M CD
Politics › Re: Do We Need Another International Airport In Lagos ? by omar22(m): 9:43am On Oct 12, 2009
There is no need to build another airport. People hardly visit Nigeria except Nigerians that live in abroad. Nigeria has close to 170 million and Lagos airport, it hardly have 4 million a year. What is it the point of new airport when foreign plane hardly come to Nigeria or they come and they do not stay more than 3 or 4 hours and just one plane from other country is pathetic. Use that money to develop a better living for those that live the country. New airport will not give food to common man, children and woman on the street food.
Can you tell the busiest route in the world after London - New Yorkhuh

She said wait that in 2 years or so, sony will do something nice to nigerians and so many nigerians will be on there side. LMFAO.
Similar to how some Nigerians were insulting Oprah and then she did something nice for us and you see the outcome.
You know!!! May be Sony would invite , let me see Genevieve to England to receive the Sony Award, You could already feel the ooh aah going on on Nairaland

Stop chatting rubbish! Yesman to who? Where have ever seen Amodu being a yesman. The man does not take rubbish, evident when he was sacked from taking us to ANC.

Stop throwing blind accusations.

What did you expect him to do? Ask for special permission to use 5 substitutes? OR you did not know Olofinjana is also an Attacking midfielder?

People that know nothing about football all want to be experts.
You sound like someone who grew up on cow milk,  Yes Amodu is a "YES MAN" actually he is a "hand puppet! Amodu could dismiss the fans because they didnt put him there in his role. Is it always the fault of the coach when the players are not performing? At times the best thing to do is by sacking the players instead. When the coach has given his instructions will you blame him when the players can't position their legs properly to hit a well targeted shot at the net?
Yes

(1) He doesnt inspire or oozes confidence (he looks like Coco the clown)
(2) He is clueless!! 15 minutes to go we are going for burst, but we still had a back 4 and 2 holding midfielders when we needed a goal so badly
(3) The players dont respect him.
(4) He is a yes man!!!

Politics › Re: Do We Need Another International Airport In Lagos ? by omar22(m): 9:56pm On Oct 11, 2009
MM International Airport is old and somewhat outdated. Many international flights circle the air for minutes before landing because of the airport's limited capacity.  A modern international airport on the peninsular is a welcomed development.
I do support a new international airport, but not at lekki, MMA is too small, they could build a new terminal next it the old one or a new run way but lekki naa!!!

Looking at  the formation that Amodu is playing today you definitely know that this man lack ambition. Why play Olofinjana and Ayinla in the same team, this guys are both defensive midfielder.
Spot on, but hey Obi gets blamed for everything

The recruiting policy has to be changed

We should start looking at players that were born in Europe and didnt play in the Nigerian League, because theirs a lot of players all over Europe that would show more commitment than these "jigaboo" we call players
