Music/Radio › Re: Nneka Egbuna Wins MOBO Award For 'Best African Act by omar22(m): 11:45pm On Oct 02, 2009
i watched the MOBO'S on BBC3 , hehehehe. i watched her pick up her awards. i liked it the part when she said naija for life.

MOBO'S is nothing but a joke. they always fail to bring in A-list artists. the awards is nothing but a joke. kanya king needs a rethink about the the MOBOS. In the good MOBO'S day's they had people like victoria and david beckham, mel b and destiny child. i think it's all to do wit black artitist, when they are new on the scence they attend the MOBOS', as soon as they start selling millions of  record's  they turn their backs on the MOBO'S. when leona lewis won x factor, she was @ the MOBO'S but she did not turn up the following year despite the fact that she was dominated, when she was announced as the winner, she was boobed which served her right, by the way british people voted for her on x factor so y the hell is she always in LA.  alexandra burke presented an award but she did not sing her new single (bad boys) which i have to say is crap. she can do better than that. beyounce was dominated and won an award, she's on tour. she's bn a no-show for years. sean paul was also dominated and won but was as usual a  no- show. y do d organisers keep giving the no-shows award. tinchy trider has sold over a million singles and 150,000 in album sales, so why did he not win any award. as for kelly roland, she's was apparently acting like a diva all night and had her sunglasses on all night. she should thank her lucky stars her single reached n0 1 thanks to david guetter. her record label dropped her a couple of months because no one was buying her singles and album so shame on her for saying MOBO messed up her sound system. am happy for jls. i hope they are not one hit one wonders because the uk music scene are not very good as managing r & b boybands.
I dont blame the celeb for not showing up, the award show is a joke, I know most of the organisers and if they had their way Africans wont get anything, the award for African music was recently added, now the winner, is a bit head scratching even when I saw the nominee last week was strange, but nobody saw it coming, the reason wwhy it was taken to Scotland is because the knew they wont sell any tickets in London, nobody takes notice of them anymore, Craig David was never recognised but JLS who started 6 months ago got an award, Tim Westwood won FOR WHAT!!!

@the amaka

Its people like you who makes the western world conclude on Nigerians that "when they speak to you, you would feel that they are about to get into a fight with you! You (AMAKA) in general you have been weighed and you have been measured, am sorry you cant handle a challenging conversation, can you imagine YOU sitting down on the Oprah Winfrey show? how long would it take before you blow a gasket or burst a blood vessel because you dont agree with someone else's opinion! well the security guards would do their job to the max!

It shows that since you cant handle a forum online, how would you handle a real life public forum, I guess you would be more suited to the Jerry Springer show!!!

It is very obvious that you are a fool, and until we outcast people like you from the Nigeria and the Nigerian community at large, we will never progress. You are clearly an uncivilized, local, & indecent human being; you are/were probably an unexposed, illiterate house boy/girl. Why does everything have to be abusive? Can't you engage in intellectual discourse without being abusive to another? I guess not. May God help Nigeria on her birthday.

Omar, if Nigerians kept their house in order, will Oprah insult them?. There are other Africans in Canada, US, Uk etc but everytime, it's Nigerians that are being busted in fraud, does that not give you concern?
What are you talking about?

Look I do understand that Nigerians around the world have a bad image but those that mean all Nigerians are fruadstars, They say All terrorist are muslims, but would you say all muslims are terrorist? because the last person who made such sweeping statement live to regret it, Am sorry but Opra is wrong she knows that shes wrong but in order for her to appologise she decided to pull a PR stunt by throwing a banana at us, and guess what?

People are lapping it up like poodle!!! anything for fame! and she picked the perfect person.
Celebrities › Re: Oprah Said The Average Nigerian Makes 400$ A Year by omar22(m): 4:14pm On Sep 30, 2009
i think 400$ is approximately N60000, so what happens to the house rent or the food

this is a little too bogus i think, that means monthly an average Nigerian makes N5000,

anyway am out of words cos with that kind of money how can we survive, what happens to school

cos education is also important, not to talk about transport money and other little things, i like Oprah but i think we Nigerians allow all these rumors people say about us, cos we don't question anything but just accept whatever generalization giving to us
Look all I could say is people talk and talk is cheap, In England or Europe some people talk as if we still live in trees or huts

We are complaining about the negative effect of District 9
So ok to complain about District 9 for presenting a bad image to the world, but suck up to Oprah because of her wealth or she managed to invite a Nollywood star to her sofa, when are you going to past her Wealth,

@spikedcylinder you call Nigeria anything you want, and stand by it! its like me calling you a theif and I still invite you into my house, I believe something is wrong there. I couldnt careless where Genevieve comes from or where she goes! the sky is the limit, but for Nigerians start wetting their beds because Oprah invited her to sit on her sofa then it shows how shallow minded some are.
Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji On Oprah by omar22(m): 12:14pm On Sep 30, 2009
Oprah should apologise to Nigerians for what? You people and the bubble wraps your live in.
In as much as I disgree with Oprah for generalising Nigerians a few years ago, what she said is not very far from the truth. We did that to ourselves and if foreigners call us out on our actions, we deserve it. Have we even started by apologising to ourselves as Nigerians and seeking the best ways forward? NO! And we expect foreigners to respect and apologise to us for calling it out as it is. Absolute tosh.
Its disgusting the way I get treated differently at airports because of my green passport. Asked to step aside, take off my shoes etc. I can only be mad at myself and my country, not at the immigration officials who have learned a thing or two from crooked Nigerians.
So you accept that you are a Crook? as Oprah perfectly put it,  So someone called you a thief, and what do you do! Yes I am a thief!!! Am sorry may be in your own world you could let people like Oprah look down their nose at you, but am sorry am not in that category (its people you Fela sing about) do you honestly belief Oprah would go as far as making a sweeping statement about the Indians in such way? NO because she would feel the impact immediately, but Nigeria! No why because it’s in the DNA,  She insulted the whole nation, and then invited one of the nations “silver jewel” to sit with her, that sound like a hypocrite to me….
Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji On Oprah by omar22(m): 11:11am On Sep 30, 2009
Seriously Omar, you need to quit. It's not that serious Can't you be happy for someone?
@Kech

Look I have no problem with Genevieve, she is a good actress (not my favourite) but that’s not the issue here, Oprah inviting her over to her show has its motive and its got nothing to do with Genevieve achievement, it’s a PR STUNT, she is using it to butter up the Nigerian citizens. Rich people in power do outrageous things just to repair their image most especially if the word “SORRY” feels too heavy to say.
Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji On Oprah by omar22(m): 11:01am On Sep 30, 2009
Which actor/actress in the whole of AFRICA can you mention is more popular than Genevieve IN AFRICA
erm the name Djimon Hounsou sounds familiar to you

he was even invited on the Oprah Show after his performance in AMISTAD (Not to butter up the Naija people) but to talk about how he grew up from the Streets of Cotonou to the streets of Paris to the US and how Spielberg gave him the chance to star in the Blockbuster movie,

Then you didnt see the people of Rep of Benin wetting their beds

Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji On Oprah by omar22(m): 10:26am On Sep 30, 2009
