The State Secretary of CAN, Reverend Sunday Ibrahim told Saturday Sun that the governor’s decision to shut down the affected churches was a relief to the association.
also this from one of the feuding parties
According to Reverend Simon Jimoh of Assemblies of God Church, Saminaka, “What the governor did was good because every government wants peace in the State. It was a crisis that erupted, from the national body down to the district, here in Saminaka.
Anyways, I think i'll believe you were just being sarcastic He wasn't being sarcastic oo. EdCure is a progressive that dislikes Islam. I don't know about others, but never a day in my church has my pastor ever advised us to hate a people for any reason. He always does what he can to promote love, unity, tolerance and accommodation. But just like Edcure, I reserve the right to love and hate whoever I chose to- but I can't hate someone for reason of their religious or cultural persuasion. God help us. |

Politics › Re: American Bancorp Bank Writes To Buhari, Plans To Return Amaechi’s Loot by omenka(m): 9:35am On Sep 19, 2015 |
mediachirps: According To Hope for Nigeria, Former Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has written to Bancorp Bank in Minnesota in the United States that the alleged $757 million Dollars domiciled in an account in his name; was authorized by him in error; from a Rivers State Government Account with Access Bank Plc.
The Nigerian most corrupt governor according to CNN letter reveals that a similar letter was also written to a bank in Switzerland; stating that a similar authorization was made in error.
The letter stated that the said transfers to both banks were for the purchase of security Helicopters, payments to a foreign company to combat malaria in Rivers state by using helicopters to spray mosquito insecticides, and for the purchase of an official residence for Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, in America.
The letter further explains that, the payments for the security helicopters, and mosquito insecticides to fight malaria were made through other sources, after the funds had already been transferred abroad. He reminded the bank that the Rivers state law on his severance package, provides for an official residence for a former governor; of which he chose to have his residence in America.
Amaechi said that, this law was later amended to have his official residence built in Nigeria, after the funds had already been transferred to Bancorp/Minnesota Account. Mr. Amaechi said these changes were the reasons he communicated the consultants for purchase of security helicopters, his official residence in the U.S and the Insecticide companies not to access the funds; since they have been paid through other sources.
On receipt of the governor’s letter by the Bancorp Bank, the bank has written to the Federal Government of Nigeria to repatriate the said funds to Rivers State treasury. Investigations further revealed that President Buhari is not disposed to this request to repatriate the said funds without a trial of the former governor; to ascertain the governor’s alleged errors in these transactions.
“Why would it take Christiane Amanpour of CNN, to remind Amaechi of such errors of over N80 billion Naira public funds in two different countries, and why in his name?” queried the Presidency.
It could be recalled that Christiane Amanpour accused the former governor of Rivers State; Mr. Rotimi Amaechi of stacking the sum of $757 million dollars (N80 billion Naira) in Bancorp Bank in Minnesota in the United State.

Some political neophytes just don't get it- the Nigerian constitution is fashioned in such a manner it is practically impossible to remove a sitting president through a legislative action. Ask Robert Clerk.
Besides, who are the Senators that would sign up for the impeachment process- the legislators from the North?? Are you kidding me?? Those guys wouldn't dare, just as much as the South Southern legislators wouldn't have supported a move to impeach Jonathan, and without their support, where would the Senate get the numbers to even begin the process knowing the Northerners constitute the majority of the occupants of the green and red chambers?

Let me brush ma teeth.. Brb.
Back to the matter...
Sometimes when I read stuffs like this, I just wanna feel sorry for the guy Jonathan. Jonathan was such a "happy-go-lucky" dude he was a hazard to himself. He had this inferiority complex that made him unable to question the choices of folks like Diezani, NOI, and the service chiefs. They knew this and used it against him. They preyed on him to the very end.
We said it several times in the past that the reason Boko Haram flourished was because some military top dogs and politicians were making way too much blood money they got addicted to the inflow. The mandate to extinguish the horror rested on their shoulders but given what they stood to gain by ensuring the battle never ended they were sufficiently motivated not to slay the goose that lay their golden eggs- Boko Haram.
Imagine the scenario of the cars donated by the Bornu state government and the subsequent release by the FG of funds to purchase same, and the blasted bastards pocketed the cash with no questions asked. Even the mere physique of the then Service Chiefs spoke volumes of what their primary concern was- their stomachs.
When they were asked to relocate down to the epicentre of the crisis as a show of force and a morale booster for the boys at the frontline, they never did, rather they simply left Abuja to stay somewhere in the North way beyond the range of enemy missiles (possibly with a retinue of broads imported from Brazil) - Jonathan knew this but never asked any questions.
It would have amounted to a mistake of biblical proportions had Nigerians not made the right choice this time. Today we know BH's capability has been depleted to such level as never before since the beginning of their campaign of terror. What more is there to thank than the strategy adopted by this admin which has been proven to be effective the world over- starve your enemies of supplies and see them die naturally.
We've seen and heard several accounts of supplies, from food, fuel, IED materials, etc intercepted by the army. One can't fight a war on empty stomach and can't ride horses to a 21st Century battle front and expect victory, and that thankfully is the situation of things with the terrorists at the moment. I have this queer feeling Boko Haram even got direct supply of these items from the topmost hierarchy of the Nigerian Army to sustain their campaign in order to keep the defence budget high and keep monies flowing into bottomless pockets!
We heard several accounts of military facilities overran by the terrorists as soldiers flee leaving the terrorists to loot the armoury- could all these have been deliberate??
One thing is clear, Boko Haram survives today because those who were meant to ensure their death did all they could to make sure they never died.
God bless the Nigerian Army.
God bless Buhari.
God bless PYO.
And God bless Midolian. |

Hahaha.
When we were growing up, we were told elders are always truthful, just, wise, and must be respected and obeyed no matter what- that was because they were almost always right, they were like saints meant to illuminate our path to a glorious future. What they see sitting down, you can't see standing on a radio mast. The more time you spend with elders, the more likely it is you would wind up much better than your peers.
But today, the story is completely different- they rape little kids, they cheat, they steal and they lie with reckless abandon. What they can't see while standing on the top of a radio mast, I am seeing lying in my bed. Alams is one of such elders that have brought shame and reproach to this once revered class of people. Imagine this nonsense.
I bet if mr Jonathan intends to run in 2019, his slogan would be I have no money!! It is no longer about shoes. Smh. |

Politics › Re: Saraki: Nigerians Actually Love Corruption But Pretend To Hate It by omenka(m): 4:14pm On Sep 18, 2015 |
Eziachi: Nigerians are their own worst enemies especially the so called masses who are supposed to be the main victims of corruption by politicians and civil servants.
You now have a government through their actions and body language has empowered all agencies of the State to do what the law has empowered them to do but all you get was negative comments riddled with innuendos, conspiracy theories and abject stupidity. Why would I care if Saraki is being witchhunted for being corrupt? I said the same during OBJs period that if you don't want to be witchhunted, please keep your nose clean and there will be nothing to witch hunt you with.
The very first place a witch hunted victim want to be is the court. So how can you be running away from the court and also screaming witch hunting too? Innocent man supposed to love the court and not using court to prevent self going to another court to defend yourself.
In true democratic climate, people willingly resign from their position, so as to have all the time in the world to clear their name. If Saraki is using a corrupt court injunction to stop self appearing before a court of law, what right has he got making laws and for him? What again is the job the court, if not to punish the guilty and set the innocent free? The judges the issues this injunctions stopping courts, politics and other agencies from doing their job deserve to be stoned. Bill Clinton was a sitting president when prosecutor Kenneth Starr questioned him over Monica Lewinsky to established if he had prejured himself. He did say am the president, I got immunity or approach so corrupt judges to issue immunity from being questioned.
What moral has Saraki got now asking any person or bodies to appear before any Senate investigative committee to answer questions? My worst anger are reserved for the idiotic conspiracy theorists going on about APC or Tinubu. When does the two controls the judiciary or the anti corrupt agencies? Wasn't Tinubu himself docked for operating a foreign account which he appeared and defended himself and the case was struck out for lack of merit? Why didn't Tinubu use his supposed almighty power then to prevent his own trial? Or use it to prevent Saraki being the Senate president? How can anyone be so daft and bereft?
Some idiots are shouting "why now"? So why not now? Does crime has expiring date? 70 years after the 2nd world war Nazi criminals are still being persecuted for their crimes, so why should a crime committed few years ago be declared as expired because everything in Nigeria is political black and white? Haha!!
What does you Nigerians want? Do you love corruption or just pretend to hate it? If you hate corruption why do you always make excuses for criminals irrespective of their positions; they equally stole through all sorts of electoral malpractices? No one has ever said that a robber was being witch hunted by the police or his robbery crime has expired and asking police "why now". How many of you will support a robber that got injunction preventing the police from questioning or arrest him? Or even preventing the court for summoning him for trial? But these guys are worse than normal armed robbers.
What a country and what a people!! A crooked and cursed people!!. I feel your anger bro. It is really a pity how the suffering masses that have over the years borne the brunt of executive profligacy and corruption form the first line of defence against anything that would put these criminals where they belong- in jail. Talk about a classic case of Stockholm syndrome. I always care less when these men fight dirty especially when it comes to who stole what- hell why should I care?? I've never been a beneficiary of their sleaze and will surely not throw my weight behind any of those greaseballs when they are caught with all five fingers in the cookie jar. To most of those faulting what is going on, it is simply about resisting anything that has the backing of the government/Buhari- it doesn't matter to whose benefit such actions would be- that, to them, is what opposition entails. Like I always say, anything short of Buhari's head on a spike would fall short of ap appeasing them. Too bad that wouldn't be happening anytime soon. Lalasticlala, you might wanna give this writeup a wider coverage. Thanks. |
