Ngwakwe:
I believe your boss instructed you to convince Nairalanders that President Jonathan's approach to Bokoharam in terms of any ceasefire and bringing back our girls was naïve and preposterous

The disappointing of Nigerian Government and top military brass is a welcome development for you.

I wouldn't forget to use this post to congratulate you and the boss, Bravo Oga Lai Mohammed, so far so good for a valid campaign slogan.

Lai Mohammed and his social media warriors wishing for an unending North East Bokoharam Insurgency till 2015
Aren't you too damn old to be displaying this level of idiocy?? Come on!! Reading your posts make me wonder what on earth S.eun was thinking when he made you a mod!!

There's a difference between being a patriotic citizen and being a foolish yes-man. A patriotic citizen asks questions and hold the government to account, only then does the government stay alive to its responsibility.

Should everyone kowtow to the powers that be, just like yourself, throwing every other narative and idea, but the government's, to the gutter, I can only imagine what a terrible State they'd be forging for their children!!

You should take some time to reflect on what this country desires, what she has, what she is, and what she's supposed to be.

Grow up.

potikum, kogi gombe, mubi..... someone promised to make the country ungovernable for Jonathan.....Jonathan should go get him....
For how long would the president keep making excuseshuh

He sits atop a trillion naira military budget. One wonders how much the terrorists spend.

He has the Police, Army, Navy, Airforce, Civil Defence, Immigration, Costoms, and Niger Delta Militants, all in his pocket, yet he's unable to clip the wings of some ragheads riding roughshod on the country's sovereignty!!

What more does the president need to secure Nigeria and Nigerians that he doesn't have?? If he's overwhelmed by the magnitude of the task, why not simply throw in the towel and let the country move forward??

I've never seen this level of incompetence in my life!!

Then I ask the question, how does not having a foreign bank account and not sending your children abroad to school make you a person of integrity. Integrity comes from well, as the dictionary puts it- the quality of being honest and having good morals. Please can someone ask reno omokri how integrity equates to not having a foreign bank account? That on an aside, I thought Reno was dead and Ruben Abati was the only reigning presidential spin doctor around..

The man from otueke spreading his way of thinking to all Nigerians since the Mantra:"I had no shoes".
Honestly the man is a big joke. Imagine saying Nigerians are not poor because "many people here fly in private jets". What a dunce!!

Boss13:
Abeg go and sit down. Picture or no picture, it does not take away the issue of some nigerians being refugees in their own country. I rebuke you to stop playing down the gravity of this issue. You and you cohorts are responsible for the stupidit...y we are experiencing in this country. Out of your sheer selfishness and wickedness, with a view of keeping your respective jobs, you ignore the enormous pains our northern brothers and sisters are going through. If only they can trade places with you and your wicked lots, would you come up here to say this?

I do not support any political party, both your boss Jonathan has failed us in all respect. He does not need to be the cause of an issue but as president the buck stops at his table. He is responsible for the safety of all Nigerians and even those aboard. In Jonathan, we have witness unprecedented increase in corruption and mismanagement - even Jonathan himself proudly said that public theft or stealing is not corruption.

Jonathan is the most insensitive president, in the plight of issues and also the unresolved kidnap of over 200 young innocent girls, this president continues to pursue his selfish political ambition (wickedness is all I call this). This same man promised us steady power supply, a tall dream yet to materialize. Rather than make significant progress in governance, our president indulges in petty things such as power tussle with governors and other politicians alike e.g. Tambuwal. What a show of shame for a man who calls himself the Nigerian President.

Only wicked souls will say Jonathan is the best we deserve, only wicked and selfish souls like you will continue to sing the praises of an inept president who stumble into Aso rock and power. All we get from this wicked government are terrible lies and deceit, lies from every sector. Lies about the economy, lies about chibok girls, lies about cease fire, lies about boko haram, lies about power, lies about procurement of arms in South Africa e.t.c

Politics › Nothing Should Happen To Speaker- NLC Warns by omenka(op): 7:27am On Nov 03, 2014
The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, on Sunday warned the federal government and security agencies that they must ensure nothing happens to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.

The NLC gave the warning in a statement by its president, Abdulwahid Omar.

Mr. Omar described the withdrawal of Mr. Tambuwal’s security details as “shameful, distasteful, unconstitutional and demonstrates our parochial sense of power and very little knowledge of history.”

The Speaker’s security details were withdrawn by the police because he left Nigeria’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.

Since that decision by the police, ostensibly under the instruction of President Goodluck Jonathan to whom the police chief reports, the government has come under attack by political, labour, and human rightsgroups including the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, and now the NLC.

Read Mr. Omar’s full statement below:

We at the Nigeria Labour Congress are appalled by the
withdrawal of security details of the Speaker of the
House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, ostensibly
because he had decamped to the All Progressives
Congress, APC.

The act is shameful, distasteful, unconstitutional and
demonstrates our parochial sense of power and very
little knowledge of history.

No part of the constitution of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria says the Speaker of the House of Representatives should come from the majority party.

Section 50(1)(b) only says, ” There shall be …a Speaker
and a Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives,
who shall be elected by the members of that House from
among themselves…”

In the Second Republic, the Honourable Speaker of the
House of Representatives, Edwin Ume-Ezeoke, was
elected from the ranks of NPP, not just an opposition
party but the third strong , after UPN and NPN. We
have other precedents across the world.

We find it appropriate to cite the examples of Mimiko
and Ali Modu-Sheriff, governor of Ondo State and
former governor of Borno State respectively. Their
security details were not withdrawn when they decamped
to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It gives us concern that our political leaders are
determined to learn very little about democracy and
always seem too keen to overheat the polity over things
that count for little.

The police and other security agencies complicit in this
disgusting conduct should hold their heads in shame.
Herein lies the essence of strong institutions which we
have always advocated.

For those who take pleasure in converting to personal
use, public/state institutions, today’s men soon become
yesterday’s men. What goes around, comes around.
In light of the foregoing, we demand immediate
restoration of Tambuwal’s security detail and all the
rights and privileges that accrue to the Office of the
Speaker. It is not about Tambuwal, it is about the office
which he holds.

And in any case, only few, arguably will contest that he
has not discharged and acquitted himself as speaker.
We would like to be on record that we will not fold our
hands while little minds threaten our hard-earned
democracy. Nothing should happen to Tambuwal.

Signed
Comrade Abdulwahid Omar
President

“Section 68 of the constitution enumerates the
procedure to be adopted by the National Assembly when a member defects from one party to another.

“Unless and until that procedure is followed and
adopted, Aminu Tambuwal remains speaker of

The most stupid comments I've read on this thread is reading GEJ is a lesser evil. My God are we normal in this country.

Buhari inherited maitastine sect, OBJ had niger delta militants, yaradua had yusuf Mohammed's group to contend with, gowon had the biafran agitation yet none lost territories to the forces the nation was up against.

Sending GEJ out of Aso rock should be a patriotic duty of any right thinking Nigerian. We can't continue along this path.
