Politics / Re: Labour Union And Deregulation by omofineboy(m): 5:08pm On Oct 30, 2009
Must Nigeria import petroleum products?. Stop importation and build/repair refineries to full capacities. I am sure there wont be anything to subsidize again. All these deregulation stories are lies. Yaradua should fix PHCN, RAILWAY and Roads. chikena
Politics / Re: MEND Say No More Ceasefire: by omofineboy(m): 7:02pm On Oct 17, 2009
Futhermore, Lagos is run mainly by the Easterners and the Niger Deltans. Indigenous Lagosians are mainly blue collar workers building bricks, selling Akara and hawking orange. Easterners run the entire commercial landscape in Lagos. Niger Deltans run the banks and the Media. Just one state in the Niger Delta(Delta State) had six out of 24 of the Bank MDs Before Sanusi's palaver.
Infact half of all the banks in the country were run by Niger Deltans. The remaining half are shared amongst the the remaining southern regions with the easterners taking the bulk.

The three main media houses in the country, Guardian, Vanguard and Thisday all belong to people from just Delta State alone. Channels TV, Silverbird TV and AIT all belong to people from the Niger Delta. The list is endless.

Also, who told you that Fashola is the only performing Governor. Please do take a trip to Delta state or Rivers State and see for yourself services the residents enjoy that Lagosians can only dream about. You cannot compare the standard of living in Lagos to that of say Delta state. The only place in Nigeria(outside the ND) that compares favorably is Abuja.

PAPABROWN,

First I dont like those Nigerians who are tribalistic, tribalism is a vehicle of destruction and violence. Lagos is home for all. You said Lagos is being run by Niger-Deltans, they should please go back to their home State and develop it. I respect arguements based on facts. can you prove it that Lagos collects oil revenue than Rivers? what is population of Rivers? and what are the infrastructural development for the last two years to compare it to Lagos?

I appreciate your listing of outfits controlled by people from ND even the banks you said, may be that was why most of them were near collapse before the CBN came to the rescue. Lets be factual and honest at analysing issues.

Everyone has a blame on the problems of ND, with ND elites taking the largest share of the blame.
Politics / Re: Obasanjo spent Only $3.08 Billion For Power Projects by omofineboy(m): 10:01pm On Mar 16, 2009
na wa oo some people still believe there was no stealing of public funds in the power project when it was discovered that most contractors collected money without executing the projects some even collected as much as 75% mob fees, which of the extant rules says govt should pay 75% mob fee? when the procurement act itself specifies 15%, stealing is not about how much that was involved even if it is N1m must they steal? in the name of executing public projects? whether it is 16b or 2b, govt funds should be judiciously utilised for the benefit of the people.

Politics / Re: Governor Gbenga Should Repair All Ogun State Commercial Roads by omofineboy(m): 7:49pm On Dec 17, 2008
am suprised some nairalanders said they are abeokuta residents and were praising ogd, let them comment on these roads: what happens to ago ka - saje road road, okesokori - totoro road, adatan - asero road, kuto- isabo road, okeyeke - Nawarudeen road, Ijaiye - idiaba road, all the mentioned roads are bad. The only road that OGD rehabilitated well is Lalubu Road and after the repair works, he named it after himself. LALUBU ROAD IS NOW GBENGA DANIEL ROAD check the fact.

Gbenga Daniel is intolerant and too fearful, he shakes at the slightest talk of the opponents. Abeokuta is the worst State capital in the Southwest even ekiti is better check the fact.

Politics / Re: Would MKO Abiola Have Made A Good President? by omofineboy(m): 12:03am On Jan 07, 2008
May be u dont know, Abiola made a first in his class at University of Glasgow check this fact. My friend, you and no one else confuse yourself check what you wrote earlier and what you just wrote now and the subject matter. Name Three top Civilian Millionaires who made money without the military boys? may be you are too far away to know the happenings here. Anyway you are entitled to your opinion. why dont you read article in print and not online. Its bad to castigate the dead.

Bank Habib Bank which later merged with Platinum Bank was owned by MKO and Late Yaradua and still have Kola Abiola as the chairman of Board.

Majority of us here just talked. I advise that some of us should go and read his biography before we talk. It is very bad and ignoble to call a MKO a criminal, it will be good if we are a bit courteous and careful too.How many Nigerian billionaires living or dead made their money without the military boys? or better still without the oil money I doubt if we can find one. Why don't you let us concentrate on the living and leave the dead alone. To me the fact that we still write lots on MKO today speaks volume about him. As for me and many who knew MKO's contributions to education and sports will live to thank him. He alone donated to all Nigerian higher Institutions in 1991 sum of 1m each, I doubt if any billionaire had done such since then. NO Nigerian students as at that time would say he/she didnt benefit from that largesse. In some schools the money was used to equip library and Health Centers.

In academics I doubt if most of us castigating him could march his rare intelligence. Besides some of us who aleged that he stole money can u prove your allegations. Obasanjo is alive today he did nothing to alleviate the sufferings of the masses despite the fact that he stole billions some of us blaming MKO are stunt supporter cum defender of OBJ, What a tragedy.

Anyway I advise that we leave the dead alone and if anyone of us has proof as to fraudulent activities of MKO please forward your petition to EFCC.
Politics / Re: Ribadu Fired! by omofineboy(m): 5:37pm On Dec 28, 2007
dont forget ribadu is a police man, he still collects his salary from the police he only collects allowances at efcc, so the igp is still his boss, if administrative instructions are to be given to him as regards his police profession it must pass through the igp.
Politics / Re: Ribadu Fired! by omofineboy(m): 5:27pm On Dec 28, 2007
IGP was only carrying out President's instruction being Ribadu's boss. Public Trust -I dont think is in Ribadu I do know my trust is not in him at all. I respect him for what he has done for the country and I think history will be kind to him if he has done all he did honestly. The trust you talk about may be in the institution called EFCC. It is still alive and I think we will get there. I advice that we should be patient a bit to know the reasons why Ribadu is being shown the way out, we may be suprised after all.
Politics / Re: Ribadu Fired! by omofineboy(m): 4:46pm On Dec 28, 2007
Some of us missed the point about TENURE even if u have 10 year tenure of office, the person that appointed you has the exclusive right to remove you. whether he/she has a good reason to do that is another story. Yaradua has the right to remove whoever he appointed or as the act establishing EFCC may stipulates, but I am still of the opinion that there are many Nigerians who will perform better than Ribadu at least he has laid a foundation.
Politics / Re: Ribadu Fired! by omofineboy(m): 4:29pm On Dec 28, 2007
Ribadu no doubt has contributed in no small means to the fight against corruption in Nigeria, by so doing he has written his name in gold. I do know that whoever that will occupy his seat wont do less. I wonder why we try to insinuate that its only Ribadu and noo one else can can fight corruption in Nigeria. There are many people in Nigeria, able bodied young men, who will perform better. Nobody knows Ribadu before he was made the Chairman of the EFCC I know there are many credible Nigerians that can do the job. what of if Ribadu has been made the IG what would have become of EFCC. For God's sake EFCC is an institution of govt and not a private company.

As regards Yaradua from my own assessment Yaradua in terms of FIGHTING Corruption has performed credibly well than Obasanjo. let those accusing him make honest comparision.

I beg to disagree with them. if it were Obasanjo Ibori wont be arrested, remember Bode George's case under Obasanjo, it was OBJ's power that gave him the guts to go to court now he must be regreting it.

Yaradua to me is better of.

Education / Re: Universities Try To Increase Tuition Fees by omofineboy(m): 7:17pm On Dec 23, 2007
Its unfortunate that LAUTECH is contending with hike in fees. So unfortunate. I commend the efforts of the students that protested against it, God be with you all.

I remembered I graduated paying N2750 as my fees. I also remembered the then VC Prof. A.M. Salau tried to increase the fee but could not, that was when we had the most vibrant and militant Union. We fought oppression and the likes we resisted it in whatever form it came that time. I know if I am still School no one will increase the fee to more than N10,000.

All I will say is that Students should also comport themselves. They should shun cultisim and stand on truth. Poverty has destroyed the psyche and Conscience of almost every Nigerian. Dont be suprised that the union may be fully part of the increament. We all need to be progressively minded. When I was in skool even if fees were increased to 100k I think I can still afford it but how many of my friends who are even more brilliant than myself could? so many students are from poor background and you discovered that they are the most brilliant.

Any sensible Nigerian should not discourage the poor students from going to skool, I am sure Prof Adeleke or whats his name called must have studied on a scholarship, fed and catered for .

Any VC that needed money should go to Convenant or the likes, the Constitution spelt out the responsibility of the govt as regards education, some of them should go and read it. One of the paraameters of development is education, every one should have access to affordable education.

I was suprised to read your post, calling obasanjo's family a noble family is a misuse of word you can check the meaning of noble again so that you will in the future use it appropriately.

Most times we respond to post out of ignorance. Drs. Abdulahi, Abalaka and Ojei are known for their scientific exploits. One thing that is certain is that Government is not serious and there is high powered politics as regards this dreaded disease. I believe there is a cure. I know of a friend that was treated by Dr. Abdulahi and till now hes HIV negative. It would be okay if we only say what we know. I do know too that ARV is a killer drug, it is simply as Dr. Abdulahi explained it. I pray that God h elps us.
Politics / Re: Federal Attorney General, Micheal Aondoakaa, May Mess Up Yar Adua by omofineboy(m): 1:06pm On Sep 15, 2007
There were times in the past that we posted so many topics on the lawlessness of efcc, the issue is not about whether kalu stole or not, but that due process should be followed, why are we in ahurry pls? let efcc obey court orders whether it favours them or not. I think thats what the AGF is saying, to me he hasnt done anything wrong. Yaradua has said severally that he would run a government based on rule of law.
Politics / Re: Obj Offered Kalu N5billion? by omofineboy(m): 7:14pm On Aug 21, 2007
Whether Kalu is a thief or not isnt the issue. Kalu in 1999 was richer than Obasanjo, he said he gave 1m dollars to him for his campaign and most things Kalu said have not been denied by Obasanjo. When they were after him over the foreign account saga, they even took him to Code of conduct Bureau, the only thing Kalu did was to give out an account that was owned by OBJ and they left him alone.

Whatever Kalu says about Obsanjo to me will be a fact and I believe he knows the man more than himself, he once told us that he haas the picture of Ota farm of 1999 and that people should go to Ota farm now and compare. Kalu may be a thief but Obasanjo is a bigger thief. I laughed when people ask of evidences against Obasanjo, The fraud in NNPC when Obasanjo was Minister of Petroleum cum President was unprecedented, he was just looting the treasury until the final whistle on May 29. Dariye once said that the money they accused him of was donated to PDP, They initially denied it until when he threatened to release the payment cheque, this was coroborated when Atiku was defending himself that he is a smaller thief compared to Obasanjo. Turaki has said the same thing. Anyway the Judgement of God is coming upon OBASANJO very soon. we even learnt he went to Redeem Church and he was booed that was how popular a former president is, have you seen his picture on TV recently, you will surely pity him. God will surely punish him.

Education / Re: Lautech Gals by omofineboy(m): 11:23am On Aug 19, 2007
I am a Ladokite, known and respected I wont disclose my identity here please. But what I know is that Gals everywhere are the same. Most students in LAUTECH are from Lagos, Osogbo, Ibadan and other cities. I believe the socialization depends on the environments you came from and you can trust gals from Lagos or what do you expect? hope you guys are enjoying yourselves but keep off cultism.

Religion / Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by omofineboy(m): 10:50am On Aug 19, 2007
Tunde Bakare is about the only vocal man of God we have in this country, wether you agree or not doesnt matter. His prophecies are very accurate and timely, it depends on the spirit you carry with you or your understanding of prophecies before you know whether hes right or worng. Virtually all he said have come to pass and records are there, Pastor Bakare is not an hungry pastor people should read his background, the person that called him activist may be right he has always been, dont forget he was a former student union leader of his university.

Before you take a critical look at someone you must know the person better, the problem is that most of us just say something. I have listened severally to Pastor Bakare severally on tapes and TV and how I wish we have five of such men of God in this Country to teach the word of God as it is. He speaks truth not minding whatever happens, and dont forget he has a record.

When God says something it may be to warn of impending calamity, read Sodom and Gomorah and so many others in the bible. The bible says foolishness is the words of the cross to those who are perishing; the ways of God is so complex that we cant know it.

Remember what killed Jonah simply becuase God planned destroying Nineveh and God later changed his mind, so Jonah was disappointed and he felt that his efforts were wasted. so if God sends Pastor Tunde to say something its not Pastor Tunde's business to make it happen rather God decides what He (God) does. Asides let's assume Pastor has been lieing all along he will one day face the judgement of God and not ours.

We all need to know that our opinions on spritual matters do not count at all. Truth is always constant.
