Almighty El-Rufai, I just pity him, there is nothing we do in life that is beyond God's immutable laws, the holy book says do unto others as you want others to do to you. He will surely be paid back, There are thousands of people rendered homeless by his ignoble acts, even when they are not yet ready to erect structures in areas like Lugbe, Kushingoro etc, the wickedness of this man pushes him to demolish and he takes pride and joy in seeing people homeless, all in the name of abuja master plan. We are not saying abuja should not be designed according to original plans, but a responsible government will provide alternatives for her citizens who are affected, this is a wicked man, satanic and devilish, he will never go unpunished, he has inflicted pains on so many people, some are dead some are in ruins. How I wish he or his comrades in crime against humanity will read this post, it is not too late for him to repent, surely one day we will all (including him) , give account of all we did while here. There are no basis for comparison in d first case. Go and read the law setting up a university and that of a polytechnic, you will know that they are quite different so also the products. Also I was fortunate to pass through both, and I can tell you confidently that in engineering and technology,you do not compare i.e ask whoever , , what mathematical courses he/she did and you will see the difference. In accountancy/accounting as mentiioned by Ismael there is a meeting point thats why it seems there is no difference and that deceives you to think HND is better, the meeting point is ICAN it is who passes it that u give it to, even at that if both HND and Bsc graduates passed it and they are to choose without any fear of contradiction the latter will be chosen. In Engineering no meeting point, try and get copy of COREN guideliness for registration, it further explained that. In conclusion, the personnel/faculty differs greatly, there are polytechnics in this country whose Rectors only possess Msc., I doubt if there is any Nigerian University whose VC is a Prof of 5 years standing, infact some Registrars are even PHd holders. If you are talking about white collar jobs it will be difficult for a third class graduate, nonetheless everyone has hope. I disagree with some posting here that condemned third class graduates, it all depends on d circumstances you find yourself why in d university, some sponsored themselves throughout, why some are just not talented. There are many of such graduates that are far better than 2-1 graduates, not to talk of nowadays where anything goes, people buy their degrees, exam is not the true test of knowledge. I have a friend who graduated with third class under harsh conditions, hes among the best lawyers we have in d country today, Gani Fawehinmi graduated with a third class, Bola Ige of blessed memory graduated with third class, Prof soyinka didnt perfom well while in Nigeria before he went out, all these people are authorities in their fields so please don't crucify third class graduates.
