Politics › Re: Uniform: Buhari May Back Customs Boss Against Senate by omogidi234(m): 9:33am On Mar 19, 2017 |
freeze001: Very funny. Who came up with that crap that the senate can make law but not enforce it? Does that dolt understand the letter n spirit of the law? So if the enforcer who happensto be the executive refuses to do his duty what happens? We sit n watch impotently? How can Malami come up with such harebrained interpretation of the law?
No wonder they pick n choose what court orders to obey because they will also say the court can give judgment but has no power to implement or enforce same. Oh Abasi! Nigeria is in the clutches of the worst combination of ignorance and arrogance! The legislature are not law enforcers, if they have any issue with the executive on the issue of enforcement, they should go to the Judiciary. That is the principle. |

omenkaLives: I have said it and will continue to say it, the Senate, currently constituted, can never work for the good of the people. All that crap about Ali wearing uniform at all cost is but just a smokescreen to conceal their real intent of edging him out of the office because of his dogged insistence of doing the right thing.
We always knew that once we scratch a little below the surface, the truth would come gushing out like blood out of a severed vein.
The free meals these guys are accustomed to aren't forth coming no more hence their frustrations with fellas like Ali and Magu.
It is incumbent on all well meaning Nigerians to lend their unalloyed support to those two. The Senate doesn't mean well for us, and discerning Nigerians can see right through their gimmicks. I am waiting for SR to open their yansh on why they have consistently refused Magu. |
Politics › Re: I Was Not Employed To Wear Uniforms – Customs CG Ali Replies Senate by omogidi234(m): 3:39am On Mar 11, 2017 |
I think the National Assembly should amend the Custom' Act, so that its boss can be answerable to it, like it has been amending some Agency's Act recently.
A lot of our comments are centred on whether Ali should wear uniform, if he can disobey the Senate and so on. Some of us even have personal beef for him.
But I think the Big Issue is whether the Senate has right to summon heads of agency at will under the guise of oversight function or also giving them instructions to stop an action. Like telling JAMB to cancel UME.
I think the Senate is overreaching itself and if Ali does not appear in uniform or not appear at all, it seems to me that the best they can do is to issue summon to the IG, what if the President says the IG should not carry out the Summons?
Let us see how it would all play out. |

Ioannes: Welcome Mr president. It's obvious from his hair that he underwent chemotherapy. God grant you healing. If I were him i'd resign. But what do I know, right? Kudos, I saw your post after I have made comment. Anyone who knows Chemo and sees Baba back hair would know. The truth is CHEMO doesn't resolve cancer. I will tell you sir, that whoever is close to Baba on this forum, should tell them to stop that Chemo, it wont help. Let them put him on Natural Food, like fresh leaves, fresh tomato, fresh lettuce, Orange, in fact he should not touch anything artificial or cooked for the next one year. Now the final killer of Cancer is carrot, let Baba eat carrot as long as he has appetite, let them also juice it for him and let him drink everyday. That is the secret oh, all these Chemo stuffs "na" waste of time and waste of money. May God heal Baba. |

Look at the first picture very well, at the back of his head, it looks as if he is loosing hair. (Chemo), they should have allowed him to stay back in the UK and get the best medical facility (even though that is undesired), life is more important that any position. |

MMMscam: Captain Chinyere Kalu, first female pilot in Nigeria. The specifics of "commercial airline" was included to correct the erroneous info in the article that she was the first female fighter pilot. Nigerian airways was a commercial airline but not the only commercial airline. So just because Hadiza was the first female pilot to fly a Nigerian airways plane doesn't mean she was the first female to fly a plane in Nigeria. Do you understand now? Hadiza was still student in school when Captain Chinyere Kalu had been flying planes as a licensed commercial pilot. Good response and Many thanks. I never knew Captain Kalu had been licenced then. All we heard then from the news was that Hadiza was the first. Kudos. |

MMMscam: She's the first Nigerian female commercial pilot and not the first Nigerian female combat pilot (armed forces) - BIG difference!
The first female combat pilot is a hausa girl; the first female Nigerian airways pilot is a hausa girl; the first female helicopter pilot is a Yoruba girl. So nothing spectacular here. The tribe factor doesn't come into play. Rather, it was just a matter of OPPORTUNITY in these cases. Sir, who among these women flew an aircraft first in Nigeria? Let us abrogate the dicotomy as to commercial flight, military flight, helicopter and Nigerian Airways. By the way, was Nigerian Airways not a commercial flight moving people outside of Nigeria or within Nigeria? |

VastfinderBlog: Captain Chinyere Kalu was born in 1970. She is the first female pilot in Nigeria. A woman grew up in a very supportive big family. She decided to begin her career in Aviation because of her adventurous aunt. Her aunt was well famous for traveling abroad a lot of times. They had the matriarch in their family, so her aunt approved Chinyere’s decision and so a lady began her career into aviation.
The first female Nigerian pilot is Chinyere Kalu, who studied in Anglican Girls Grammar School, which is in Yaba, in Lagos. Then she was trained as a Commercial and Private Pilot. She also took a few aviation courses in Zaria, UK, and the USA.
Chinyere Kalu always wanted to travel the world and have an adventurous lifestyle. So she decided to take up the truly male dominated and very difficult career in order to become the first female pilot in Nigeria.
Nigeria first female fighter pilot is married to Mr. Okoli Kali and has children. 6 years ago President Goodluck Jonathan proclaimed her the Chief Executive and Rector of Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (which is mostly known as NCAT) - which is the biggest aviation training institute in the whole continent.
Before that, Chinyere Kalu was leading the College’s Flying School. There Chinyere Kalu worked as a contractual instructor.
Source: https://vastfinder..com/2017/03/captain-chinyere-kalu-meet-first.html Thanks for a job well done, congratulations to the pilot as well. Whether female or male, that job is not a job I envy. Very technical and brain tasking. However, I don't think this woman is/ has always been the first Female Pilot in Nigeria. I have seen this caption several times but I do not have enough facts to counter it. There was a female Pilot that was murdered by her driver and house boy either 15 or 20 years ago in Lagos. Her body was dumped in the soak away pit or something. It was neighbours who she was nice to, who felt they haven't seen her for days couple with the fact that stench was coming out of her apartment that alerted the Police. The guys were arrested and the news was all over the dailies. We really need to keep records in our Obodo Naija. |
