That is the statement on that story or news.

It thus means, he didn't have a CAUTION SIGN.

Also, look at the POSTERIOR view of those pictures, there is at least 1 to 2 metre space between the edge of the bridge rail and the bus. I can posit that the impact on the bus could not have shifted the bus because it was stationary.

In the same vein, if the bus had stopped around RRS and park, it wouldn't have been an issue. Since the RRS is stationed on both sides of the bridge at a portion known as layby.

Any stopping on the bridge other than on the layby, requires a bright light SIGN to alert oncoming motorists of danger and not one dark colour tyre. In addition, such driver must ensure the car is totally off the road, that is not the case here.

OKADA riders are extremely terrible but the driver has some faults.

The distance between the rail and the bus is much. I am not absolving the Okada rider ( they are terrible riders.), but I think the bus driver should be reprimanded for not using the known Caution Sign and not parking entirely off the road.

Now I am going to use my personal example for the OP. It is your choice. No one can force anyone to do anything except that person has it mind beforehand, (well I recognize that at gun point or blackmail, they can force someone against his/ her wish but I also reckoned that some have maintained their position and died).

There are two Authorities I refer to constantly.
1. The Bible.
2. The Laws of the Land.

Now, I will tell you that both of my Authorities above forbid having sex with someone other than your Spouse.

You may not be bound by my No.1 however, whatever you practice as religion must tell you that when you go contrary to the letters of the law it is a SIN.

Hold on, I know the argument, adultery is not an offence in Southern part of Nigeria, but it is a major ground for granting dissolution of Marriage under the Marriage Act ( that is another story for another day). The fact that it is major ground for dissolution means the law even though silent on it does not except you to get involved in it and if you did it is a SIN.

This is not a sermon, just giving logic as per how law and religion intertwined.

@OP, don't let me waste your precious time.

There are 3 options, each with its own consequence.

A. You do it.
B. You refuse and stay in the marriage.
C. You refuse it and get out of the marriage.

Option C comes in if your spouse strongly aligns with his family that you must have sex with another man.

Adoption has been mentioned above, if they don't mind you sleeping with another man, then they shouldn't mind you adopting.

I once heard a story of someone who was told he would die coz of terminal disease.
The story had it that he went and gathered video of comedy shows, atleast if he would die let him enjoy and die laughing and joyful.
It was said after weeks of doing that he felt better and went for test to find out what happened. Lo, he had laughed away the terminal disease.

There are a million advantages laughter, joy and being free within brings to the body , also there are a million disadvantages being bitter and envious etc brings to the body.

It would appear if blackface sheds his bitterness ( even though he maybe justified being bitter), things would pick up for him.

Chocodaviva is absolutely correct. However if you still want a place secured in quote, consider Banana Island in Lagos. I can gladly help you get a good land there with my legal and real estate experience.

However, let us look at some issues flowing from Chocodaviva's post above.

What if someone has a house in Banana Island and domestic staff kills him/her? This scenario has played out severally in Nigeria. A promising lady was killed in her apartment early this year or late last year in ParkView Ikoyi.

What if someone drives out of the secured environment and gets killed in another environmen?

What about stray bullet? ( by the way I tweeted to any one cares to listen in authority yesterday on the need to begin to use rubber bullets, so we can stop wasting innocent lives from stray bullets).

We can only pray for safety in this society.

BOTTOM LINE.

1. Your ability to get a well secured area is fundamentally dependent on your financial ability!

2. You have to live your life irrespective of the ills of the society around you.

Please note that if you have some good cash, you can get land in some gated communities not to expensive in Lagos.

Let's hope Yakubu's case doesn't go the same way.

I have read the first page and seen countless wise counsel. However, let me add my own little idea.

Your lawyer is doing well.

Also, I want to use this medium to advise us, once a property is sold and you are given 6 months, please gladly take it and use that time to look for new apartment. If the 6 months would expire while your tenancy is still running, it is illegal but please ask for refund for the months beyond the 6 months' notice.

Now let us discuss as friend, from the way the new landlord is behaving, it is likely he wants to use LABSCA or touts to eject you. If he does that, your lawyer can bring contempt proceeding. He could be jailed at the pleasure of the Court. You know a crazy landlord may not mind going to jail for 2 months just so he gets you out.

If a landlord throws your things out illegally, what you would get is damages but you would not be restored to possession.

Bottom line, as the case is on going, do a serious house hunting.

OP, this is your life. So whatever advice anyone gives you, you have the responsibility to and not to.

First and foremost, our lives are denominated in TIME. What you are able to do with time correctly would determine what impact you would make or not make in life.

I will opine that you choose a job that will enable you have time.

Take for example, if you took a job that makes you close between 2-3pm daily. There are still a lot you can do between 3-6pm daily.

You can even use that time to prepare and sit for additional qualification which in turn may fetch you a job in Chevron etc.

Your first job is not going to be your last job, but your first job could make or mar you.

Now (latter part of this thread) we're debating points of law and for that I'm glad.

With regard to superiority of the Constitution this holds when an enabling act runs CONTRARY to provisions in the constitution, at this point the Constitution holds sway. In the case of Section 88/89 this deals clearly with FINANCIAL issues and the power to investigate, the Power & Privileges Act does not deal with financial issues. The point is that the two are not in conflict for if they were then the WHOLE idea of the Power & Privileges act is nullified.

If that is the case, it means, the Senate CANNOT summon anybody at all unless for FINANCIAL oversight when laws are being made or administered.

Thumbs up. I will consider both provisions again on the background of your assertion and make subsequent comments.

OP, the Rule is that where there is a provision on an issue by the Constitution and there is also a provision by another law, the Constitution takes priority. So in the instance, the Constitution provision on the issue applies.
