The Nigerian Communications Commission on Tuesday said that telecoms network operators carried out a total of 30,876 mobile number porting activities in the month of April. This was contained in the ”Incoming and Outgoing Porting Activities of Mobile Network Operators” report, obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos. The report showed that there was an increase of 764 in the Mobile Number Portability activities in the month of April, as against the 30,112 activities in March. It said that out of the 30,876 porting activities in April, about 15,519 were incoming porting activities, while 15,357 were outgoing activities. The report revealed that in the outgoing table, telecommunications giant, MTN Nigeria, lost a total of 8,161 subscribers to other networks through the MNP activities in April. According to the report, MTN is the worst hit during the exercise, followed by Airtel Nigeria, which lost 3,381 customers in the month under review. The report said Globacom lost a total of 2,038 subscribers, while 1,777 customers of Etisalat Nigeria ported to other networks at the same period. Moreso, in the incoming table, the report said Etisalat enjoyed the exercise the most, as it led with an additional 9,875 customers on its network in April. Airtel came second on the gainers’ list, as it added 2,933 subscribers to its customer strength. Also on the gainers’ list, 1,717 subscribers moved into the Globacom network, while MTN Nigeria gained 994 customers as at April. NAN reports that the exercise was flagged off on April 22, 2013 by the NCC, with the aim of deepening competition in the industry. By Obinna Chima The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) sold $80 million to bureaux de change (BDC) operators on Wednesday at N197 to a dollar. This helped to strengthen the nation's currency on the parallel market, the president of the association of forex dealers said. The naira was quoted at N221 on the parallel market, up 1.36 per cent on the day, after dollar liquidity rose, traders said. On the interbank market, the naira ended at the bank's pegged rate of N197 to the dollar. President of the Association of Bureaux de Change Operators of Nigeria, Aminu Gwadabe, told Reuters that the central bank commenced the sale of dollars twice weekly to BDCs since last week. Meanwhile, the Committee of e-Banking Industry Heads (CeBIH) said its attention had been drawn to the confusion created in the public domain as regards the imposition of limits on cash withdrawals from ATM terminal across the country. The Chairman, CeBIH, Tunde Kuponiyi, explained that the newly introduced limits by the CBN was applicable only to holders of naira denominated cards who use their cards for cash withdrawals abroad. For such customers, the CBN has imposed a limit of $300 per day and an annual limit of $50,000 on such customers. The directive was contained in a circular issued recently by the CBN. "It should be noted that this limit does not apply to the withdrawal of Naira from ATMs within the country. The limit for withdrawal of naira is set by the individual banks in line with the bank’s corporate operative procedure. It is also to be noted that the limits are not applicable to POS and online purchases. Customers are hereby enjoined to confirm what the limits are in their various banks," he added. http://nigeriamasterweb.com/paperfrmes.html |

Truckpusher:which parent would give such freedom to a 15 years girl to move wherever she wishes to without parental guidance. which peer groups? at 15 i was not allowed to paint my nails and paint my face until i was done with secondary school. I so much looked forward to it back then. all this rubbish that i am seeing where parents allow their 12. 13 to 14 years girls to start dressing like adult is very bad. why wont he child rebel against you when she decide to stretch are luck further by going out for an all night party at 15 , why wont she slam the door on you just because you are telling her what is right...goodness. I still treasure our mothers days of parenting and not all the parenting i am seeing these days. |
There no automatic update.Even my IT guy checked it today nothing like that, he also told me how a man was making trouble at thier office for a 95,000 plan he subscribe to for two years finished far far before the due date . no one is using up our data because we are able to see the number of pc that is utilizing the data plan on our swift setting. |
Guys two month ago my office with only two systerms change from MTN to SWIFT because we were told by someone that SWIFT network offer 7000 for just 14 GB....the first two month we were able to use it for almost a month as it expired before the due date as it appears we must have ove used up our plans. we renewed again....and the whole 14GB finished less than a week...... we reported the case in thier office and they made us to understand that we only got charged for what we browed.I only only opened my webmail and my outlook all day and nairaland , then check face book for emails and shut it down while my colleague accoding to his computer history only opens his outlook, face book and nairaland......this is not enough to consume 14GB.we change password thinking DAT someone might have been tapping from our data but its kept on reading 5 times faster the its suppose to read.We made purchase again and its only left with 1GB. I have been browsing the same pages for the last three years with MTN and it has not eaten up my Data the way SWIFT is doing.they are deceitful by coming up with robust GB only to over charge thier customers180MB For webmail and outlook with a space of 10 minute. Pls web masters in the house can only webmail, outloook, Facebook and Nairaland consume 14GB for 2 systems within a space of 8 days?. |
EVarn:well Evans...Nigeria have known about Homosexuals and their activities for a long time...we have been hearing of their action though they have always done it very quiety and behind close door....there was even a Gay bar in Lagos then...specially for gay people though it was never publicize. we knew about them but we decided to turn our face to the other side and pretend we don't know they exist...this problem started when this Movement of GAY right , ...more like a wild fire spreading from Europe , America, and some part of Asia as well as South Africa...the movement was supported by powerful forces to compel Africans to legalize it in their society....wont it have been better if they had allowed these gays in Nigeria to leave their life quietly without anyone raising an eye brow? I have never head where man to man marry in Africa...Africa has always been a kingdom made up of a nuclear and mostly polygamous family unit that the society uphold...never in history except the history that the white man fabricated, where Africans practice homosexuality...if they do then it must have been a closed on.just the way people do some act in some immoral ways..though they know it is bad but they cant help it and would seriously hide it from public eye to avoid being ridiculed. Oga..just the way America cannot legalize polygamy and see such as a sacrilege that is how we Africans see homosexuality. Alot of homosexual if you ask them, must have been molested by man when they were very young and vulnerable...and they started having that sexual urge to meet their own kind.and you call that normal.it is not. |
Most Nigerians; especially Lagosians are Psychologically imbalance,it could come in form of being very aggressive over issues that can resolve amicably...then the fact that we are impatient especially while driving on the road... consciously blocking a T-junction during traffic hour..knowing fully well that it will prevent other motorist from passing through on the opposite direction..thereby making the traffic more intense... |
Happiness87:that does not make it right. you are saying Homosexualism has been there since in the 70's. that also goes for Pedophiles, Incest (father to daughter and sister to brother sexual relationships) that does not make it right. These act is offensive and changes the very foundation upon which a healthy society is built on. If homosexuality is allowed in Nigeria then men can now dress like women and paint their lips and some times even start kissing in the street...this is pure rubbish and disgusting..you guys should stop equating gay right to Human right.Goodness. America is an advance country with a seek society |
EVarn:your comparison of the slave trade era( of course which was a major human right issue at that time) amazes me. This is what America have used in blocking your sense of logic.Let me let you know that Homosexualism is an abominable act to the african culture and society.I am not a religious person so please just cut the crap of me being an hypocrite of whatever name you and your gay chooses to call me. Your sexual behavior will distroy the very fabric upon which the society is built on. Our children would no longer understand that a family is made up off, Man, woman and child but rather Father and Father and an adopted child from heterosexuals. you can imagine the damage homosexuals has done to the psych of young children growing up in America. We have more problems on our hand...please and please carry your homosexuality outside our country and if you are an American then continue bleeping your fellow men with STRONG asses because that is the only thing you guys are known for...insatiable sexual morons. African was never capture and sent into slavery rather they were the once rounding up people that must have been capture from wars from distance villages instead of killing then....please read up about the trans Atlantic Slave Trade....and learn more about history... there was never a time when the dignity of the African people within Africa was rubbished....rather the Europeans used what we called diplomacy.. and indirect rule to govern different countries in Africa for the main purpose of economic benefit but they still retain their various kings/leaders to continue governing their people because they know if they use force it would cause crisis. SO TELLING ME I WOULD STILL HAVE BEEN A SLAVE DOES NOT HOLD WATERS HERE IN AFRICA , BECAUSE MY ANCESTORS WERE NEVER SHIPPED OFF TO AMERICA.I AM SURE YOU CAN TELL THAT TO THE BLACKS IN THE WESTERN WORLD. |
EVarn:If you are Gay..abeg park your load go USA..ooo. Nija no go contain your abominable act... bleeping another man's ASS. tufuakwa!!! |
I heard this morning that the present Oni of Ife is Dead...May his soul RIP. |
PMB, stop talking and start acting...haba..since you came into office all your time has been use in discrediting the last administration. |
Married women men and women..do you agree with this article? We may hold back farting in front of our girlfriends, or even strangers in the public restroom, but marriage is different. A solid marriage needs to be a safe place, a cozy spot of acceptance, honesty, and truth. Cherish that freedom and be yourself. Even after being married for over twenty years, my husband still remembers the first time I ever farted in front of him. It changed our relationship. He retells the story of that moment with vigor, excitement, and untamed joy saying, "The second you farted in front of me was the first time I thought, 'Yes! I want to marry this woman!'" Seriously, it meant that much to him. I only recall this milestone because of his memory; however, I know that it had to be an accidental fart because I'd certainly been holding back any poofs in our earliest courting days. As soon as I crossed the Toot-Line, that non-deliberate fart gave him permission to fart in front of me as well. This could be seen as a deterrent, arguing against my assertion that you should fart in front of your husband, but a solid marriage needs to be a safe place, a cozy spot of acceptance, honesty, and truth. Where else in the world can you be totally, unconditionally, wholly you? Cherish that freedom and the license to be yourself right down to the littlest details. Marriage is unlike other relationships. We all have our bestest girl friends, sisters, cousins, aunts, and mothers, but we hold it in for them. I don't know of any woman who farts around her girlfriends. We're even shy about passing gas in a public restroom if there's anyone else in the room, aren't we? Women in book clubs or on school committees don't flatulate around each other. Even women living as college roommates or best friends on a road trip don't intentionally fart together. Women hide it with others. We hold it, we wait, we excuse ourselves to be alone. But, with our husbands, we should go for it! Let her rip! Farting is natural and healthy, and it's not natural or healthy in a strong union to ignore or hide a part of who you are. You share your intimate personal story, home, coffee, body, and toothpaste with your man -- why not share breaking wind, too? It's as normal as tears, laughter, and turning your head at a chirp from your phone. Biologically speaking, Dr. Oz says that it's not dangerous to hold in your poots, but it can cause abdominal pains, bloating, and cramps - all for no good reason. It's a scientific fact that women and men pass the same amount of gas in a day - almost a half a liter. (It's going to have to come out sometime.) Plus, if the guy's going to see you give birth and have your boobs leak, he better be able to embrace a little puffer. Or a big one. In a way, farting in front of someone is a test of how far the relationship will go. Are you able to be 100% who you are, stinks and all? My husband says of my first fart, "I loved that you let me into a different personal space. When you have to hold it in, it hurts, and when you're sharing your life with someone, share it all. You don't want it to hurt." See why I'm married to him? For better for worse, in sickness and in health, we vowed to stick together through the tough stuff along with the happy times. Marriages survive unimaginable losses and staggering pains, and struggle through illnesses and disasters. Make your marriage enduring and steady by being completely and honestly you. Give of yourself freely, and welcome all of your husband generously, to build and grow a worthy foundation. Farting in front of your husband is a way of demonstrating your closeness and your intimate connection. Besides, farts are just plain funny. Couples who fart together, laugh together, and if you can laugh together, you've got the stuff of a great relationship. Share your farting tales. Do you remember the first time you farted in front of your husband? How did he react? Are you still holding them in? |
After President Barack Obama, among other top ranking United States officials lavished praise on President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigeria for three days during his US visit, the Nigerian president returned home this morning without securing an arms deal with America to help him prosecute the war against Boko Haram. Since Buhari assumed office on May 29, Boko Haram has increased its attacks in the North-east and is reported to have occupied five local government councils in Yobe and Borno States, in addition to killing over 600 people. The Nigerian military under former President Goodluck Jonathan, with the assistance of the armies of Chad, Niger and Cameroun, had successfully dislodged the terrorists from territories that they had previously occupied. The US government told the Nigerian leader that its hands were tied by the Leahy Act, which prevents it from selling arms to countries with human rights abuse records. Buhari “departs with little practical military assistance in his battle against the Islamist militants who have turned the North-east of his country into a bloody war zone”, the Associated Press (AP) reported on Wednesday. A displeased Buhari told the US government that the refusal by America to arm Nigerian troops because of “so-called human rights violations” and “unproven allegations,” would only help Boko Haram. “Regrettably, the blanket application of the Leahy Law by the United States on the grounds of unproven allegations of human rights violations levelled against our forces has denied us access to appropriate strategic weapons to prosecute the war,” Buhari said. Addressing an audience of policy-makers, activists and academics in Washington, Buhari complained that Nigerian forces had been left “largely impotent” in the face of Boko Haram’s campaign of kidnapping and bombings. “They do not possess the appropriate weapons and technology which we could have had if the so-called human rights violations had not been an obstacle,” he said. “Unwittingly, and I dare say unintentionally, the application of the Leahy Law Amendment by the United States government has aided and abetted the Boko Haram terrorists.” He appealed to both the White House and the US Congress to find a way around the law — introduced by Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont in 1997 — and to supply Nigerian troops with high-tech weapons under a deal “with minimal strings”. In June, rights watchdog Amnesty International (AI) said there was sufficient evidence to launch an investigation into senior Nigerian officers for war crimes. In a 133-page report, the group blamed the army for the extrajudicial execution of 1,200 people and the torture or arbitrary detention of thousands more. Buhari has insisted that the charges are not proven, but he has replaced his senior military commanders and has promised to investigate the allegations. The Leahy Law was the primary reason the US government refused to sell weapons to the Nigerian Army last year when Jonathan was in power, and even blocked attempts by Israel to sell Cobra helicopters to Nigeria. Other than Nigeria, other countries that have been stopped from receiving assistance by the US under the Leahy Law are: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Turkey, Indonesia and Pakistan. http://nigeriamasterweb.com/paperfrmes.html |
