frankyychiji:Either you're purposefully being obtuse or you're really slow on the uptake. The poster you responded to was pointing out the fact the central claim of Christianity - that Jesus was the son of God who had to become human to die for our sins - is all about human sacrifice. There was nothing relating to tribe in that obviously true claim, but people like you have to inject tribalism into everything, even as you accuse others of the vice you can't free yourselves from. What is the line about "the body of Christ" during the Eucharist if not symbolic cannibalism? |
Seun:What is the significance of the Eucharist in Christianity other than implied human sacrifice? What does Passover signify in Judaism? As long as no actual human sacrifice takes place, to single out African religious traditions on this score is to unthinkingly adhere to prejudices inculcated by European missionaries about how every aspect of African spirituality was "evil". |
themanderon:As if being prejudiced against a people ever prevented some from trying to make money off the people they hate. Isn't that how we've had so many occasions when Chinese or Indian people in Africa treat their staff like animals? That there are tons of Igbos living in the north says absolutely nothing - people tend to behave themselves when they know there can be severe personal consequences for not doing so, as northerners have shown Igbos in particular many times over the last 80 years. What we see on anonymous online forums like this one is a more honest picture of what is truly in people's hearts, and for at least the last 15 years, Igbos have made it crystal clear that they loathe and fear Muslims in general, and northern Muslims in particular. Peter Obi's "all Nigerian churches" campaign tour only reinforced that message, as did all the endless hysterical rantings of his followers about the supposed dangers of a "Muslim Muslim" ticket. Igbo trolls wouldn't have been throwing around terms like "head-slammer" and treating "Yoruba Muslim" like an insult if the general Igbo tendency towards Muslims wasn't one of animosity. |
Chibuzoc:You keep spamming these outrageous claims verbatim, without ever once providing an iota of proof for them. Name a single Igbo who was killed by Yoruba because of these elections, I dare you. Give us the person's name, age, date of death, and where it supposedly happened. Name a single Igbo business that has been burned by Yorubas because of this election, I double dare you. Tell us the names of these businesses, where they were quartered, the names of their proprietors, when they were burned down, who witnessed it, etc. Surely you will have such details readily to hand if it actually happened. All you're doing here is applying the "Big Lie" technique of repeating a falsehood so often you hope it will be mistaken for truth. You're just another shameless, hate-filled liar seeking to stoke the embers of the very kind of tribal hatred you want to portray yourself as being the victim of. It is you and your kind that have heated up suspicions to the point where are now, first by relentlessly shouting up and down about how "superior" you are and how everybody "envies" you, how you were going to "conquer" the Lagos that was "no man's land", how Yorubas had no one to blame for their inevitable subjugation by your "enterprising" people because we were busy selling off our patrimony to "celebrate owambe", etc, etc. After these comments sparked an inevitable backlash - a backlash that was still less bloody than the political killings going on in your own region at the very same time - you now have the cheek to come on here and play the martyr by engaging in more baseless slander. |
wirinet:What nonsense! Where have I ever "worshipped" Tinubu? I neither know the man nor have any business nor familial connections to him, and I have certainly never claimed he was any sort of saint or savior. To be irritated at what has been a clearly tribally-motivated campaign of character assassination directed at the man for several years now is not the same thing as "worshipping" him, unless you've been so blinded by your own monomaniacal hatred of him that you can no longer see the distinction. Now the returnee slaves have as much rights in Lagos to you and morally more rights than Tinubu. They definitely have more rights than an Ambode, Fashola or Gbajabiamila."Now the Igbo migrants to the SS have as much rights in Itsekiriland as you and morally more rights than any of your political leaders. They definitely have more rights than any Itsekiri leader who has ever been elected to high office." How do you like it when your own rhetoric is directed back at you? Do you still think this makes sense and is worthy of serious consideration, or does your blindness to how you come across only work in one direction? To me Tinubu is like an imposter, just like Ptolemy in Egypt, Joseph in the Bible or Alimi in ilorin. He through shear luck, political machinations and collaborators captured power and impose himself on the people.I know it's both fun and convenient to knock down straw men, but the feeling you get from doing is entirely hollow. I have never argued that Tinubu "is responsible for the development of Lagos", and I would never do so, seeing as I know that Lagos was already developing and flourishing before the Saros you champion even started coming there in the 19th century (no Vivour even lived in Lagos before 1870). Go through my entire comment history and show me where I've made any of the straw-men claims you're knocking down here - I'll be waiting... I repeat, you seem to have gone round the bend in your hatred of Tinubu, willing to embrace any crazy theory and insulting claim, no matter the peripheral damage done - it's not the hatred of Tinubu that disturbs me, but the outlandish claims you're willing to back because of it. My forefathers were here in Lagos before any white man or slave "returnee" ever came to the island of Eko, as were the Ijebus and Egbas whose lands are part of the artificial and arbitrary "Lagos state" which was carved out without any consultation by a military dictator. When Oba Akitoye had to flee Lagos due to Kosoko's ambitions, he fled to Abeokuta, and he was backed by an Egba woman named Tinubu, the very woman who made the name famous. Awolowo, the most famous Yoruba leader of all time, was of both Ijebu and Egba descent. Yorubas have never had the artificial borders and distinctions between us that you and the IPOB trolls you emulate seek to impose upon us, and the only effect such "real Lagosian" and "original Lagosian" rhetoric has on us is to harden us in the conviction that all of this is about much more than Tinubu as a politician (whose time in the limelight will inevitably pass), but about a do-or-die ethnic struggle for control, and as we are seeing right now with the governorship elections, that means you are condemning yourself to be perpetually on the losing side, as we won't allow ourselves to be turned into powerless outsiders in our own land, even if that means putting up with machine-politicians like Tinubu for the meantime. I've told you this before, but if you were at all serious about defeating Tinubu politically, the intelligent thing to do would be to show us - and by "us" I mean Yorubas in general, not Igbos who already hate him with scary intensity - that there are better alternatives which won't end up with outsiders giving us marching orders in our own homeland. The worst way to go about it is the one you've chosen: adopting alienating and brazenly dishonest rhetoric insinuating that only some outsider immigrant group like the Saro are "real" and "original" Lagosians, while we Aworis, Ijebus and Egbas are somehow disqualified as being "unreal" since our lands supposedly "belong to the Binis" (by which reasoning, all Itsekiri land still belongs to the British, as they conquered it just as the Binis once conquered Lagos). |
Kimjongun:Israel, where the native Palestinians have now been herded into ever-shrinking Bantustans, as the Israelis settlers gradually steal ever more land. It's to avoid a similar fate that I say let them have their Biafra, so we can end the endless migration from the SE and repatriate most of those already here (especially the poor ones with no particular skills to offer). Anyone who thinks such a thing can't happen is living in self-delusion, especially as Igbos have shown no tendency to give up on their clannish, tribalistic politics (how else can one explain a single party getting 95% of the votes in a region, or the "LP Top to Bottom" and "only our 'Ezi Nwanwa Ndigbo' is a 'real Lagosian'" BS?). Talk of "conquering" Lagos, and "Lagos is a no man's land" shows they have a similar agenda to the pre-1948 Jewish settlers in Palestine, who said all sorts of "liberal" things in public while secretly plotting all the while to steal the land from under the native Arabs - a plot they succeeded at in 1948. |
wirinet:So now you're telling me that the families of returnee slaves are more "original Lagosians" than mine that actually have been ruling Lagos before their slave ancestors were even abducted? In your hatred for Tinubu and the APC, you seem to have gone off the rails, first endorsing the "Amoda Ogunlere" nonsense, and now this ... |
Earthquakes:It's not merely his mother being Igbo that flags him as being of dubious loyalties, and you know it. There's also the fact that 1. As recently as 2019 he was running for office in Lagos as "Chinedu", with the "Gbadebo" nowhere to be seen. 2. He claims his inability to speak Yoruba is because he studied abroad, yet his Igbo happens to be fluent (and many others who have studied abroad for longer than him still managed to learn Yoruba). 3. He's not only half-Igbo, but also married to an Igbo woman. 4. He has spent a lot of time and energy on social media agitating for Biafra. 5. While he was boosting Biafra talking points, he found the time to speak against making Yoruba an official language in Lagos alongside English (maybe he imagines English will also be the sole lingua franca in Biafra). 6. On the same social media where he was pushing Biafran propaganda, he not only called someone else "Afonja" with the mocking goat image used on here by Igbo trolls, but added insult to injury by dismissing someone else as exhibiting "typical Yoruba behavior". Add up all the above, and the evidence is clear as glass: until this guy decided to run for governor of Lagos, nothing in his public life and actions marked him as showing loyalty to anything other than purely Igbo causes. We probably wouldn't even have learned one of his names is "Gbadebo" if he didn't suddenly realise identifying as Yoruba might just be important in a Yoruba state ... |
Wizpa:Ah yes, we are "the most tribalistic", yet we elected Peter Obi in Lagos while you gave 97% of votes to your kinsman throughout the SE, as if you were North Koreans "voting" for Kim Jong Un! We are "the most tribalistic", yet you are the ones on here responding to the OP with comments like "scratch face", "Yáriba", blaming "Yoruba muslims", etc. We Yorubas are so tribalistic that not once in the last 100 years have we turned the Igbos amongst us into suya, as has happened in the north in 1945 and 1966 (amongst many occasions). We "the most tribalistic" people produced the likes of Wole Soyinka (who went to prison for the Biafran cause) and Victor Banjo (who volunteered to fight for Biafra only to be repaid with death at the hands of Ojukwu) - where are the Igbo men who can claim to have done anything of the like for anyone outside your group? Yorubas are only "the most tribalistic" if you've twisted the term to mean its literal opposite, as all the facts show that you and your kinsmen are by far the most clannish, insular, tribalistic, parochial, narrow-minded, mean-spirited bigots within Nigeria's borders, quick to shower others with insults and chest-beating arrogance, and just as quick to play the victims when your hubris stirs in your hosts the expected backlash. Every claim you make about others is actually a confession about you and your own kinsmen - you are envious, covetous and burdened by a deep inferiority complex, which is why you spend so much time and energy fixating on Lagos, even as your home region is turned into a war-zone by the "unknown gunmen" you egged on in you short-sightedness. |
DeLaRue:You are giving too much credit to whoever put out this story. Even assuming it's true that a student was sent home for turning a schoolbook into a campaign prop, where's the evidence that the "principal's note" is genuine? Anyone could have written that note and stuck it in the hands of a child before taking a photo, and it's not as if Obi-supporters are known for their unwillingness to lie. |
Tzar:Since when have schools become campaign grounds? Aren't they supposed to be places where pupils learn? Why do you think school children are made to wear uniforms in the first place, if not to reduce the scope for unnecessary distractions from their educational mission? This is a ridiculous non-story of dubious veracity: it's doubtful even the most tribalistic teacher would be stupid enough to put down said tribalism in writing, and it's just as doubtful that any children would have come up on their own with the idea of wrapping schoolbooks in the posters of a 62-year old politician. At most all I see here is a parent setting out on purpose to try to provoke school authorities, all in order to play the victim and fleece publicity and cash from "Obi supporters" who have proven their gullibilty again and again. |
Omodua:Look at this ignoramus, spouting rubbish. As a direct descendant of Oba Akitoye (who I bet you've never even heard of) I am far more of an "Omo Eko" than your trojan horse will ever be. Having one Saro ancestor (while having an Igbo mother and an Igbo wife, and speaking Igbo fluently while ignorant of Yoruba) doesn't make your Johnny-come-lately candidate some "super Lagosian", and even a Yoruba man from Dahomey will have a far greater claim to eventually earning "Lagosian" status than the uncouth likes of you ever will. |
Omodua:It's incredible how you fail to see the brazen hypocrisy in your argument. Why is it a problem for someone to be "from one of those rustic villages in Yoruba land" if you think all non-indigenes of Lagos have a claim on the place? If someone from a "rustic Yoruba village" has no right to make claims about a Yoruba state, where do the likes of you get to have any standing whatsoever? Your position is like a total stranger saying a man's nephew has no rights to claims on his uncle's estate while asking for the whole thing to be diverted to the stranger the man never even laid eyes on. It is the height of cheek and effrontery. |
If this Igodye character really wants to be taken seriously, why doesn't he get his own people to lead by example, instead of only conveniently making this kind of argument when it comes to Igbos in Lagos State? Where are all the non-indigenes holding high office in Igboland? And how is it that a single party can get more than 95% of the votes in a state, let alone an entire region, if not for extreme tribalism and/or massive rigging? It certainly isn't because Peter Obi is a paragon of virtue (Pandora Papers, using state money to prop up his family's brewery, caught red handed with N250million in security vote cash), or because Obi has new and unique ideas (he had to be forced to issue a manifesto), or because Obi is an "outsider" (he was the PDP VP candidate just 4 years ago). We're supposed to believe that voting for an utterly inexperienced, financially illiterate candidate like GRV, an "Omoluabi" who can't even speak Yoruba, is somehow about "detribalisation", even as the loudest supporters of his candidacy are the ones spouting nonsense about "no man's land" and how "lazy" Yorubas are supposedly to blame for selling off their land to "host owambe parties". We're supposed to buy this nonsense as they push a candidate whose promises will turn Lagos into a basket-case worse than Venezuela, a prospect which doesn't bother the GRV-backers at all long as it achieves their desired goal of wrecking Tinubu. Who can see all this and not regard it as motivated by the intense tribal hatred and envy which is actually behind it? As the saying goes, "you can't fool all the people all the time", and it's cheap talk to ask of others a "detribalisation" your own people have never displayed themselves. The worst part of all this hypocritical nonsense is that these are the exact same set of people who are babbling nonsense about Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu not being "real Lagosians", as if they had some special right to tell us who and who isn't a "real Lagosian". If being from Iragbiji means one isn't a "real Lagosian", how on earth can someone from Onitsha or Enugu ever qualify? Their lack of consistency is maddening. |
I dont know a single igbo person who claims Lagos is no mans land. I believe APC people on the internet are the ones saying it so that Igbo people get criticized for it.Either you're blind or a wilful liar, as this happens on here every single day, often by Igbo tribal champions so notorious no one in their right mind would doubt they are Igbo. It's a cheap attempt at deflection to blame it on "APC people" without a shred of evidence - these are your kinsmen, and they've been doing this sort of thing since the 1950s. But regardless I dont even care. Now you are telling the truth. You don't see anything wrong with insulting people and making threatening claims, but are puzzled that they end up despising you for your actions. paxx:Right after I point out the nonsensical nature of your claim, you repeat it to me almost verbatim. Enough with your ridiculous persecution complex! If it were up to me you'd have Biafra this very minute, and you'd be mandatorily repatriated there with immediate haste, so the endless alternation of boasts and insults with posturing as victims could be ended once and for all. Good fences make good neighbors, after all. Sadly, and AS YOU WELL KNOW, it isn't up to me or to any of the people you blame in your paranoid rantings. It's up to the NASS, and in particular to YOUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES, not one of whom has ever proposed a referendum bill on secession, even after all the wahala from Nnamdi Kanu and his followers. That you and your ilk aren't bothered by this only goes to show YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS about wanting to leave Nigeria, just as your insistence on living right amongst the very people you claim "hate" you until the moment you are "granted" Biafra like manna from heaven shows you obviously prefer life amongst your "haters" than you do with your own kinsmen. You are all a bunch of empty barrels thinking you can scream, insult and blackmail your way into power by playing a Biafra card you lack the conviction to back with action. No one is holding a gun to your heads to live amongst your "haters", but for some reason you refuse to go back to your south-eastern paradise instead of endlessly screaming about (purely imaginary) "persecution". |
paxx:Here you go again with yet another bunch of those strawmen you people love knocking down so much. 1. Who are these people who "dont want igbos to live in Lagos"? Are you trying to pretend that feeling insulted by ridiculous claims that Lagos "is a no man's land" is the same as saying Igbos should leave Lagos? 2. Who has said they " dont want Igbos to be in goverment"? Are you saying that expecting Igbos to compete for votes like everyone else - by making alliances and winning others over instead of insulting and threatening them - is somehow equivalent to wanting Igbos out of government? 3. Where have any of the people mentioned in the 2 points above ever said they "dont want Igbos to separate from Nigeria"? It seems in your own eyes all non-Igbos are just one single hive-mind, and different people can't have different opinions. How do you know the "One Nigeria" people are exactly the same set as those you accuse of wanting Igbos to "leave Lagos" and "out of government"? Where's your evidence? 4. In light of the preceding, the claim that If you think that Nigeria would be better without them, why are you so hell bent in being in the same country as them?is purely a product of your fantasy. To the extent that Yorubas resent Igbo arrogance and insulting claims about Lagos, they would like nothing more than to see Nigeria split up so that uncontrolled immigration from Igboland can be stopped, nipping in the bud all the stupid boasts that "we developed Lagos" and "we own Lagos". The only reason you don't see more of such opinion on here is because Seun has made clear he doesn't tolerate secessionism, not because large numbers of Yorubas are "Igbo-haters" who love "One Nigeria". That contradiction is what you wish were true, but the opposite is closer to the truth. |
MrBlock:Everything you've said is true and should be obvious to any thinking person with experience of governance in Nigeria. The alternative to Alpha Beta isn't some imaginary corps of incorruptible, highly professional civil servants, but the very same crooked, indolent public employees whose constant demands for bribes will put the supposed "corruption" of Alpha Beta to shame. All one has to do is look at Lagos before Alpha Beta, or any of the other states not using the services of firms like it, to see that this is indeed the case. The thing is, though, that most of the people criticising Alpha Beta aren't doing so out of any real concern about good governance, but out of hatred of Tinubu, who they are accustomed to blaming for any and everything that goes wrong in their lives. As far as these people are concerned, a candidate who destroys Tinubu's power-base is worth championing, even if the cost of doing so is wrecking the finances and livability of Lagos - especially as so many of them on here don't even live in Lagos in the first place, and will therefore never have to bear any of the consequences. That's why they are happy to spout nonsense about how the imaginary "N5bn a month" being "stolen" by Alpha Beta will somehow pay for all the extravagant spending promises being made by GRV - they don't care whether it's true or not, only that it fools enough voters to give their stalking horse a victory. |
missade:Both of your suggestions are excellent, and it's incredible that they never occurred to a candidate who has made so much of his supposed urban planning experience. This only goes to show that it would have been easy for the LP to come up with a much stronger challenger if they had bothered to hold open primaries rather than allowing Obi to coronate someone who has nothing to offer beyond financially-illiterate populism. |
sheungeek:All I see here is the same old populist-socialistic wishful thinking that has landed places like Venezuela in financial disarray. He's basically promising to explode the state's expenditures even as he destroys the most effective means by which the state raises revenues! I'll give the guy credit for at least having the courage to put forward a concrete manifesto with detailed points that can be criticised, but all I see here is that he couples his evident lack of governmental experience with a non-existent understanding of economics and public finance. It's not enough to cry "youth" and "change" if the end result is to turn Lagos into a dysfunctional basketcase, which is all this political programme could ever hope to achieve. It all makes me wonder: why did Peter Obi hand-select this guy to be the LP candidate in Lagos, rather than holding a proper primary where rival programs and track-records could be scrutinised, and someone with actual experience and understanding of the real world could have won out? Either Obi has little understanding of economics and finance himself, or (more likely) he didn't have enough respect for voters to consider that they might actually care about such matters, and simply opted for the candidate he felt most personally comfortable with ... |
PrinceOfLagos:You are one of the greatest comedians of our time, albeit unintentionally. Your constant buffoonery on this site always leaves me rolling in laughter. What could be funnier than an Igbo man calling himself "Prince of Lagos" and daring to tell actual Yoruba people who is and isn't an "indigine" [sic], as if you knew anything about Yoruba history and culture whatsoever? Una wan kill person with laff! ![]() |
rippa:But there are plenty of Igbos who support Tinubu and other APC candidates without causing any fuss. The funny thing is, when such Igbos are then rewarded with positions, they are treated in the exact same manner as you describe - isn't that why people call Joe Igbokwe "Yorubakwe"? Isn't that why there were so many threats flying around about anyone in the SE daring to vote APC? It's only natural that those of us looking at such behaviour - as well as the 95% votes for Peter Obi in the SE (which can only be due to either runaway tribalism or mass rigging) - and think that voting for any candidate backed by people with such an attitude would be a bad idea. |
flokii:The mistake you are making in responding to the OP is in assuming that he is acting in good faith and out of ignorance. In reality, the OP is nothing but a tribalistic troll with no interest in what is or isn't true, just a desire to antagonise Yoruba people so he can feel important for a moment or two. These ridiculous posts about Lagos not being part of Yorubaland are all borne out of a deep-seated feeling of inferiority by a certain group who everyone can identify even without being explicitly named. |
BeardedmeatR:Their excess is the cheek of daring to say "they prosper wherever they go to the chagrin of the lazy indigenous peoples", and then acting surprised and playing the victim when the very indigenes they've insulted decide they've had enough of their arrogant guests. That's the problem with you people: you have zero regard for anyone else, no sense of empathy whatsoever, and yet you wildly overrate yourselves. |
Bede2u:Oh come on! Several have said these very things in this very thread! Are you blind or something? The very last person I responded to before you was openly boasting about how Saturday would supposedly usher in the inevitable Igbo domination of Lagos. When you start hating igbos for living in lagos and not voting your party, you will definitely get a reaction.GTFO with this self-pitying rubbish. There are more than 200 other ethnic groups living in Lagos, and no one cares how any of them vote. No one would care how Igbos vote either, if their vote wasn't clearly motivated by the tribal animus, arrogance and hubris that is on display online on a daily, hourly and minute-by-minute basis. Your kinsmen are busy bashing out boastful, antagonistic nonsense by the dozen at this very moment, on this very website, even as you sit here pretending that Yorubas just woke up one day and decided to hate you for how you vote (as if anyone would even know with a secret ballot). It is the mark of insanity to go out of your way to antagonise and alienate others through abuse, insult and arrogance, and then suddenly start playing the victim when your behaviour reaps the expected result. It's Psychology 101- if you don't want to be hated, don't act in a manner that breeds hatred. Why you and your kinsmen seem incapable of grasping that is a mystery. The fault lies entirely with yorubas, igbos are very large in abuja too and vote their party without harassment from abuja indigenesBecause you haven't started telling them how "Abuja is a no man's land", how "native Abujans are just lazy and envious", how "Igbos own and developed Abuja", how "Abuja was originally a Tuareg settlement" and all the other nonsense you lot like to peddle. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before you do go down that route, though, at which point I expect you to revive your familiar lamentations about how the people of Abuja hate you "for no reason" ... |
Hellonearth:Thank you for being honest about your desires, unlike all the rest of your fellow sympathisers who want to pretend that this is all about "good government" while pushing a candidate who has zero governmental experience. |
Bede2u:How many Yorubas have you seen jubilating over her election being "proof" that Abuja is a "no man's land"? How many have you seen claiming the indigenes of Abuja are lazy, and that they have sold their lands off to hold "owambe" parties, as has happened in this very thread? How many Yorubas have you seen anywhere boasting that they now (or will soon) outnumber the indigenes of any non-Yoruba region or city? How many Yorubas have you seen stating that the "true owners" of some region aren't the ones everyone thinks they are, but are actually the indigenes of some other entirely separate region? Let's face facts: there is only one group that Yorubas have this sort of problem with. It's the very same group that has had similar problems everywhere else they've settled in large numbers, for the very same reasons - arrogance, boastfulness, rudeness, overweening ambition, hubris, delusions of grandeur, false notions of "superiority" ... |
Buikechukwu35:No, I'm saying he's blindly recirculating propaganda created by IPOB sympathisers. If you can't see the distinction, the "chains" you're talking about are on your own mind and no one else's. |
Cantonese:Are you so lazy you can't do a quick Google search to receive the answers you pretend to seek? Go ahead and keep waiting for his adoption papers to be waved in your face - I'm sure that will happen right after you personally receive Obama's long-form birth certificate ... |
phorget:How fortunate that we poor misguided Yorubas have you here to decide for us who is an authentic Lagosian and who isn't! |
It's quite amusing to see the same people who insist that Lagos is a "no man's land" now trying so hard to convince the same people the call "Yaribas", "Afonjas" and worse that Chinedu Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivor is the very epitome of an "omoluabi". If Lagos is the "no man's land" you insist it is, why does Rhodes-Vivor's ancestry suddenly matter? And if his somehow being "more Lagosian" in his ancestry makes him preferable to the incumbent, doesn't that put the lie to the "no man's land" line of argument? You people are shameless in your brazen inconsistency, willing to tell any lie and embrace any sudden about-turn in your eagerness to grab political power. |
RZArecta:That is utterly irrelevent as long as he was formally adopted into the family whose name he bears. Your obsession with "blood" says a lot more about your own Nazi-like fixations than it does about Bola Ahmed Tinubu's right to bear the name he does. |
thebosstrevor1:Exactly - and this is something anyone could easily verify by looking it up in a Portuguese-English dictionary. Besides, even if it were true, so what? Does the fact that English-speakers use the word "Germany" to refer to Deutschland now mean that Germany belongs to the British? Or does "Sverige" being called "Sweden" mean the Swedes are living on UK soil? A place having different names in different languages says absolutely nothing about who its indigenous inhabitants are or how it was founded. Seun Kuti is just revealing his own ignorance and laziness by circulating this ridiculous, low-IQ piece of propaganda born of some semi-literate IPOB sympathiser. |
