millionaireman:Yup, just as I expected, more empty verbiage without even a trace of evidence to back it up. Keep on believing whatever helps you sleep at night, reality will catch up with you soon enough. |
millionaireman:This is just more meaningless bloviation - by your reasoning, Lagos, Kano and Oyo should also have similar vetoes, as all of them are "home to all the ethno-religious groups of people in Nigeria". No amount of pseudo-justification on your part will turn this brazen lie about Abuja into the truth, no matter how repetitively you and your sympathisers post it on here, Twitter or Facebook. Your refusal to face reality will only make your dejection all the more crushing when reality sets in after Obi's case is justifiably tossed out. The harsh reality is that he lost the election as soon as he embraced the IPOB sympathisers and opportunist "pastors" spouting Islamophobic nonsense, a reality that was obvious to many of us on here who said as much at the time, only to be shouted down by brigades of Obi-worshippers unwilling to hear anything going against their fantasies. |
millionaireman:Please provide a link to this alleged court ruling - if the ruling exists, I'm sure you'll easily be able to provide verifiable evidence for it (and by evidence I don't mean screenshots or third-party articles) ... |
millionaireman:Another nonsensical claim born of nothing more than wishful thinking. Why would the constitution privilege Abuja over any of the other states by giving it special consideration? What the constitution actually says is that Abuja is to be treated like any other state when deciding whether the 25% threshold has been reached, not that Abuja alone determines whether a candidate gets to be President. That's the funny thing about you Obidients and your lies - you think that by telling them fervently and often enough, you can magically turn them into reality, and then you act shocked when reality pierces the echo-chamber you build up around yourselves. That's why some nonentity on Twitter can claim that the Igbo tribal champion Obi outright won Ondo, that he got 25% in Oyo state after all his followers insults about "Yoruba Muslims", or that any native of the NW or NE - let alone 25% in any state - would ever support a candidate who openly embraced bigoted paranoia about a "Muslim Muslim ticket" and "Northern domination" ... |
IyaebeTheGreat:How is it a "witch-hunt" to sack an incompetent buffoon who has as much responsibility as Buhari for 8 wasted years of economic stagnation? Emefiele's rank incompetence had been clear for years before the latest debacle, and the fact that reality retained him for a second term only speaks to Buhari's own total incompetence. The best thing Tinubu can do to separate himself from the Buhari/Emefiele legacy of failure is to jettison both Emefiele and his stupid multiple-exchange rate, protectionist policies. A central bank has no business deciding what constitutes an "essential import" or not. |
ceejayluv:All the wailing and moaning about "rigging" would only matter if Peter Obi ever had a chance of winning in any majority-Muslim states, and it should be clear even to the blind that this was never the case. That's what comes of Obi wrapping himself in the flag of Christianity through his church visits and pastoral endorsements, even while his supporters were relentlessly insulting "Yoruba Muslims" and "Abokis" day-in, day-out. Even if the overblown accusations of rigging were true, and Peter Obi had magically swept every single majority-Christian state outside the SW, the very fact that he'd lost the entire core north as while never having a chance in the south-west doomed his campaign from the very outset. |
Kobonaire4:Thank you for articulating what all the sore losers crying about "rigging" and "fraud" seem incapable of grasping. The prevailing poor economic and security conditions were the ideal backdrop for an opposition victory, and had there been a united opposition, the APC would have deservedly lost in a landslide, but the combination of Atiku's greed, Obi's opportunistic party-hopping and Kwankwaso's vanity ensured that the overwhelming opposition to continued APC rule was dissipated in too many directions. There is no need to bring "rigging" or "fraud" in to explain anything we're seeing. The great irony is that many people on this very site were warning last year that Obi's third-party candidacy was actually working towards a Tinubu victory, the very outcome the most zealous of the Obidients hated and feared the most. This is indeed what occurred, as Obi's victory robbed the PDP of all those SS and SE votes they used to be able to count on. This is what comes of runaway tribalism masquerading as championing "youth" (by a 62-year old) and "change" (by a man who was the PDP's VP candidate just 4 years ago). Now all the obsessive Tinubu-bashers on here will have to live with the fact that their fanatical hatred born of tribalism actually worked in his favor ... |
LadyExcellency:How can a moderator be "neutral and sometimes pro-East", unless "neutral" has been redefined to mean "pro-East"? It's clear that what you really want is a moderator who coddles Igbo tribal warriors while banning and censoring anyone with something to say which might be in any way unflattering to Igbos, however grounded in truth what is said might be. I'm sure in your view that would be the epitome of "neutrality" ... |
Freezyhot:So you don't think your mother is worth bowing to when guests come to visit? You don't think your wife is deserving of the same honor? You don't have any sisters, daughters or nieces worth treating in such a manner? In your own words, you stated clearly that your problem with what Tinubu did was that he was bowing before a woman, not that he was doing so to non-royalty. Just come out and admit that you're a typical boorish sexist who thinks women are by definition unworthy of such treatment. |
Winningbot:How does showing a woman respect rob the Ooni of any respect? Or do you think there's some law of nature forcing us to only ever show one person respect? Face the issue, which is the sexism in insisting there's something wrong with Tinubu showing a black woman respect. I don't know about you, but I was born of a black woman and am related to many others, and I see nothing wrong with anyone showing them the sort of respect Tinubu showed to Oriji's mother. It's not as if doing so would prevent Tinubu from bowing before the Ooni when next they meet. |
Winningbot:Stop spouting the same cliched "agbado" rubbish and tell us all what the difference is then? Is it that one is black which makes her undeserving of respect in your eyes? You are as intellectually limited as you are hopelessly chauvinistic. |
Nightwolf1:And what's wrong with that? Are you trying to say women are unworthy of such respect? Here are prime ministers of Great Britain and Canada both bowing before the recently deceased Queen Elizabeth II. I'm sure in your chauvinistic mind this makes them and all the other leaders who did the same "inferior" to your messiah Peter Obi.

grandstar:Sadly, it really is as simple as that for those who make the accusation: in their minds, "Northern Muslim" = "Terrorist" by definition. The sad thing is that the very same pushing this bigotry (along with the ridiculous outrage about a "Muslim-Muslim" ticket) are the same people who wail endlessly about the supposedly prejudiced attitude of all other Nigerians towards them ... |
alabo1:Lol, it can't even spell "LinkedIn" properly while making empty boasts. F**k off, loser! |
alabo1:More drivel from an unemployed loser. Your time is clearly worthless, mine isn't. F**k off. |
Truthisunique2:Imagine being so paranoid and bigoted that you think Tinubu's biggest hater is somehow actually working for him in disguise! |
IreneJane:Anytime you see someone on here say "We Yoruba XYZ", that's a straight tipoff that it's a low-IQ Igbo troll in disguise. In all my years on Nairaland I have yet to see a single instance when this hasn't been the case. |
alabo1:Piss off, troll, you're not worth the trouble of responding to. |
alabo1:The above is the last resort of those who can't argue the facts. The very fact that you're getting so worked up over my response says it all above the level of emotional investment you have in a topic I'm only participating in out of boredom. Like I said, this "rivalry" between Apple and Samsung is entirely one-way, with most Apple users simply not giving a damn what you lot have to say. I will never use IOS even if given the latest model. Of course I gave out a 6plus that was also given to me as a gift when it debuted. Each OS has its advantages and disadvantages. It is a matter of choice. Like Messi vs Ronaldo. Get it? I can't stand it when you IOS make claims like your making. Unsubstantiated claims that no truly phonehead will make. You have to be dumber than a rock to accuse me of "unsubstantiated claims" when I've explicitly gone to the trouble of providing you with evidence, and that from an Android website! Or are you suffering from selective blindness? As an aside I for one consider windows OS the best OS ever made. For appearance and build quality Microsoft made some of the most beautiful devices too. For fluidity, ease of use etc you can't even compare your IOS or any other. Too bad poor strategy killer it off. PeaceFact-free opinions like yours are like assh*les - everybody has one, but that doesn't mean they're worth sh*t. Unlike you, I know Windows in as much depth as I do Android and iOS, having written tens of thousands of lines of C#, Kotlin and Swift code in the last few years alone, and still I don't go around randomly spouting my opinions on the web as if that meant anything. You are way, way out of your depth here, so best move it along while you have any pride left to salvage. |
Unbiased1:Here you betray the reality that you are the utterly deluded one. I've been writing code for the Android and iOS SDKs for more than 12 years, and still have never been interested in Android phones in all that time. Not only is Apple's hardware performance lead over the entirety of the Android market gigantic, but the hardware is supported with updates for far longer, the UI is generally more elegant and streamlined, it's easier to get the hardware fixed when needed (just go to an Apple Store anywhere in the world), and the resale value is much higher. Don't believe me? Here's what an Android-focused website has to say about it. https://www.androidauthority.com/ios-vs-android-1068950/ Keep consoling yourself that I and the hundreds of millions of others who prefer Apple's wares are somehow ignorant of what the alternatives are. Some of us place too much value on our time to waste it dealing with Android's many shortcomings, and on Samsung's shovelware in particular. The most a Samsung ad will ever get out of us is a bemused laugh at the inanity and desperation it reveals. |
I think it says something that all the comments on here are about how phones made by Samsung (or LG, or Xiaomi) are sooo much better than Apple's iPhones, yet not a single iPhone user has even bothered to weigh in. Perhaps that's because iPhone buyers know what they're paying for, are content with it, and as such, they are utterly indifferent to what users of other phones may or may not think. A lot of the moaning and groaning about Apple on this thread can simply be translated as "I can't afford a new iPhone", because no iPhone user I know gives a moment's thought to anything Samsung or its fans might have to say about their purchase. |
pinkPUSSY:YOU are the very LAST person in the world to call anyone out as a tribalist! It seems all you do for every minute and hour of every waking day is post outrageous, slanderous lies about Tinubu and Yorubas in general. If slander and inflaming tribal tensions were a crime, you would be serving multiple successive lifetimes in prison for all the dimwitted nonsense you've befouled this forum with. As for your utterly brainless remark about wheelchairs, yes, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was in a wheelchair throughout his 12 years as President of the United States, during which he saw the USA through both the Great Depression and World War 2, so tell me again what your tiresome, įmbecilic pictures have to say about anybody's fitness to rule a country. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paralytic_illness_of_Franklin_D._Roosevelt Only low-IQ tribalistic buffoons like you, with your trashy, illiterate preference for vulgar monikors like "oilP***y", mistake being President with being a championship wrestler or a Mr. GQ competition.
|
Papasmal:Their hate for Yorubas in general (and Tinubu in particular) is far stronger than any "love" they feel for Obi, which is why they can't restrain themselves even if it means sabotaging the candidate they claim to support. I've lost count of how many times on here these "Zombidiots" have resorted to slurs like "ewedu guzzlers" and "coneheads" even in threads where the main topic is a Yoruba man claiming to support Obi. They clearly take idealistic Yorubas for fools, otherwise they wouldn't go out of their way to antagonise them for no good reason (other than the sick pleasure they take from spewing insults). I don't know who I'll be voting for in 2023, but I know who I won't back under any circumstance: the man acting as a figurehead for what is clearly a movement driven by the worst kind of Igbo tribalism. |
The man is clearly delusional and living in his own alternative reality. That's what you get when you surround yourself with sycophants and isolate yourself in Aso Rock. |
Alawode01:And why is that a bad thing? It seems to work well enough for all the OECD countries where government parastatals don't own and run everything. How well has Nigeria's "non-capitalist" status quo been working for you so far? |
To all those asking where he's going to get the funds from, it should be obvious if you understand what the meaning of "privatization" is - from the proceeds of selling off all those loss-making parastatals. Privatization has two benefits for a government: it removes liabilities from the government's balance sheet, and provides income from sale of those liabilities. Besides those two benefits, there are also the gains from competition and innovation once politics-driven organizations are turned into profit-seeking firms directly accountable to their shareholders. Atiku may be a crook, but what he has laid out here is an extremely clear, constructive, pro-growth agenda for the future, not just some vague statements about "change" or "youth" of the kind that are Peter Obi's stock-in-trade. Instead of the usual barrage of insults you Obi supporters can't seem to help engaging in, why not push your candidate to propose something similarly clear, so we can compare platforms and engage in politics about actual policies, not the usual mud-slinging, rumor-mongering and recycling of doctored photos you mistake for campaigning. |
kingyakos:Fine, Donald Duke did lots of wonderful things for Calabar when he was governor, but that is not the question I was asking. What I would like to know is how Donald Duke would have dealt with an influx of 1 million new residents every year, most of whom have no assets, no savings, no skills and little education. Where would he put them all, and how would he find the funds to provide all these newcomers with trash collection, street lights, new roads, drainage, etc., given that none of this 1 million annual arrivals pay a single kobo into the state's coffers. Even 1st world cities like London and New York struggle to house and care for much lower numbers of immigrants, yet somehow Lagos is expected to achieve far more than much richer places can manage. I fail to see how Donald Duke or anyone else could resolve the issue without clamping down on the rate of new arrivals, yet when Fashola tried something much more modest (by repatriating beggars to their states of origin), Igbo voices were the loudest in complaining about "discrimination", the same Igbo voices that take such joy in bashing Lagos under Tinubu and his successors. |
Ddokie:Yes, I agree - you are the proverbial empty vessel making a loud noise and signifying nothing. |
kingyakos:What magic would Donald Duke have worked to accommodate the 1 million impoverished and under-educated migrants who flock to Lagos every single year? |
alizma:The worst thing about this attitude is that a lot of the reason why Lagos has slums is because of uncontrolled migration from elsewhere, much of it from the SE. No matter what new infrastructure is built in Lagos, it quickly becomes overwhelmed by the mass of indigent newcomers who see it as a Shangri-la where they can improve their personal prospects. If Lagos had China-style "internal passports" and mass deportations to keep out penniless migrants, it would look much more impressive, but the very same people mocking the city now would be the ones moaning the loudest about how the place should be a "no man's land" to which all Nigerians should be free to move. |
Ddokie:https://pmnewsnigeria.com/2022/09/12/peter-obis-new-dangerous-lie-cracked/ So now that I've debunked your lies about low productivity in the SS ports, you revert to type by hurling insults? I don't have to prove a damn thing to you, it's you and the liar you worship who have a reckoning awaiting you at the polls, as you are revealed for the mendacious tribalists you really are. |
