NO  MANAGEMENT OF ANY NEWSPAPER WILL AUTHORISE THEIR REPORTERS TO ACCEPT "BROWN ENVELOPES".                                          Though this menace is rampant in Africa, it does not make it legal. The money inside "BROWN ENVELOPE" is not different from the money collected illegally at "ROAD BLOCKS" by bad eggs in uniform.                                                            Those who offer bribes and those who accept bribes are culprits.                                                                     If Saiburi shamelessly announced on This Thread that he gave journalists from  over 6 newspaper houses and 2 TV Stations  "BROWN ENVELOPE" of N4,000 each to publicise his event, what is the assurance that he could  not equally offer "brown envelopes" to  kill any story that favours Comandclem?                                                         May God save us in this country.                                                           ~OMOKEMESI                                                                  .

Nairaland GeneralRe: Minimum Wage Law: Octopus Gabriel Of Nigeria Predicts Unprecedented Sack Of Workers And Close Down O by Omokemesi(op): 11:13am On Jul 19, 2011
I am sad. I am ashamed to go to Octopus Gabriel again. I don't know what else to ask him a year after his "hasty" prediction. And the minimum wage remains un-implemented. Can somebody tell me why it has not been implemented and prove Octopus Gabriel wrong? I heard over the radio this morning that the President allegedly said the minimum wage could not be implemented until next year. Is this report true? I was subsequently forced to rush to Octopus Gabriel if he had any prediction again. Octopus Gabriel retorted: "I have no prediction. The truth is bitter in Nigeria." ~OMOKEMESI

Quotable  Quote                                                  At the 30th Anniversary of his Invention last year, Prof Clement Uwemedimoh declared:                                                               "Thirty years ago, I came up with this invention of the anti-corrosive Special Paints which has changed the face of things in Nigeria and beyond.                                                                   Today, my invention is the by-product of many things in the world, yet I am being denied my rewards, my royalty which I have dedicated to mankind."
Nairaland GeneralRe: Comandclem Patentees Assembly by Omokemesi(op): 1:49pm On Jun 28, 2011
Prof Uwemedimoh deserves recognition for his Anti Corrosion Special paint being used by many oil companies, airlines and others since 1980. This will encourage our young scientists in Nigeria to develop interest in inventions like their counterpaits in advanced countries. It is disheartening that 50 years after independence, Nigeria remains a dumping ground for various products, including those invented or produced by secondary school students in China, Japan and other countries. Must this trend continue for ever in Nigeria? ~OMOKEMESI

The report about Comandclem/MOBIL published by CNN's ireport,   made salient points and allegations relevant to Prof Uwemedimo's case.                                              Up till now, nobody has come out to deny these allegations since they were published by CNN's ireport, almost three years ago.  What is silence?                                                              Anybody is entitled to comment in support, or against the report.                                                           And that was why I asked if the allegations preferred against Mobil in the report were true.  It is not compulsory that CNN must vet it.               There is a column provided by CNN for readers of the report to pass their comments.                                                                 This Thread is not only for collection of royalties.                                                               Lack of a well deserved Recognition and Appreciation of  King Uwemedimo's   invention by the Federal Government, contributed to the ignominious way Mobil has been treating the Nigerian Inventor.                                                                     More

WHAT I STUMBLED UPON "Happy Birthday, Edison! National Inventor’s Day February 11 th is National Inventors’ Day in the United States.  It is celebrated on the birthday of one of the best inventors in the history of the United States: Thomas Alva Edison.  Edison has over 1 ,000 U.S. patents issued in his name, as well as many patents in the United Kingdom, France and Germany. In early 1983 , President of the United States Ronald Reagan proclaimed February 11 , 1983 as National Inventors’ Day.  The words of the Proclamation are just as strong as they were 27 years ago, which read, in part: Almost two hundred years ago, President George Washington recognized that invention and innovation were fundamental to the welfare and strength of the United States. He successfully urged the First Congress to enact a patent statute as expressly authorized by the U.S. Constitution and wisely advised that “there is nothing which can better deserve your patronage than the promotion of science . . .” In 1790 , the first patent statute initiated the transformation of the United States from an importer of technology to a world leader in technological innovation. Today, just as in George Washington’s day, inventors are the keystone of the technological progress that is so vital to the economic, environmental, and social well-being of this country. Individual ingenuity and perseverance, spurred by the incentives of the patent system, begin the process that results in improved standards of living, increased public and private productivity, creation of new industries, improved public services, and enhanced competitiveness of American products in world markets. In Nigeria, the most prominent and acclaimed  leading Inventor in Africa is  King Prof Clement John Uwemedimoh.                                             He is the undisputable and indisputable Inventor of the Anti Corrosive Special Paint  used by Mobil and many other oil companies worldwide, in their oil exploration, since 1980.                                                                       Prof Uwemedimoh has not been paid any royalty by Mobil and others benefiting from the Comandclem's boss invention, till date.                                              But that is not the purpose of this post.                                          It is quite unfortunate that while other  countries have been honouring their inventors by giving them National Awards and declaring Inventors' Days to honour them, nothing seems to be done in Nigeria.                                                                 Last year I initiated a Thread on Nairaland where I asked:                                                      "SHOULD PROF UWEMEDIMOH BE GIVEN NATIONAL AWARD? "                                                               I am happy that the Thread has not been blocked till now, but I am sad that no action has been taken by those in authority till date.                                                                       It is more sad that where a Nigerian Inventor,  who contributed immensely to the growth of the world economy, seemed to be left "un-noticed", musicians, pastors, young politicians and what have you, were given National Awards with fanfare.                                                To be continued                                                ~OMOKEMESI

Some egistered Patentees probably did not know by asking me to be silent would give the usurpers who are here with a mission, ample chance to  render Comandclem "financially impotent" so that the Company would not have the wherewithal to continue the case.                                                 What Mobil is doing here is not peculiar to Nigeria.                                                                  Many multinational Companies deliberately infringed on the Patent Right of individual inventors in the past, because they knew that individuals found it extremely difficult to source fund for prosecution of their cases.                                                        In America, for instance, it costs as much as three million dollars (about 450 million naira)  to prosecute patent right infringement which is a "chicken change" to the multi-national companies.                                                           More later

It was GODSAYES as shown above."                                                                    saibuhari, as a master of English Language, are you saying that "President Goodluck Jonathan IS CAPABLE ENOUGH TO ORDER MOBIL TO PAY", as posted by GODPAYES, the same as "JONATHAN HAS ORDERED MOBIL TO PAY", as alleged by you?  Poor you!  You have, indeed,  become a confused man!                                                   ~OMOKEMESI                                                         @   What saibuhari posted earlier in order to disgrace me:                                                       "But  was it not in the  forum  that omokemesi  gleefully  announced that  Jonathan  has ordered  mobil to pay."                                                        " If   indeed Jonathan ordered   mobil to pay as announced by Omokemesi, why is   comandclem now going to  supreme court as reported here today by Banjo?"

@ umehemeka, I was told you could get the Liberation Newspaper for this week from vendors or through the Comandclem offices in Nigeria.

@ fyneguy, thanks immensely for the story you culled from SaharaReporters of New York. God bless you real good.                                                        QUOTABLE QUOTE  FOR THE ATTENTION OF SAI BUHARI                                                        "The Nigerian  Environmental Rights  Action group has issued a  demand for $100  Million from  ExxonMobil in Nigeria for  their failure to  compensate fishermen  within the coastal areas  who suffered devastating  losses due to the oil  company’s exploration  activities and major oil  spills last year which was  revealed by  SaharaReporters in a  series of exposes. The fisherman of Akwa  Ibom State received  nothing from ExxonMobil  for spills dating back to  1998  in the Qua Iboe oil  fields"                                                             @ saibuhari. What is your expert and humanitarian advice to President Jonathan on the above case which is very similar to that  between President Obama and BP?  THANK YOU.                                                    ~omokemesi

QUOTABLE QUOTE OF SAIBUHARI's WICKED LIE In his deliberate bid to destroy my integrity in his post, notorious saibuhari declared: "But was it not in the forum that omokemesi gleefully announced that Jonathan has ordered mobil to pay." " If indeed Jonathan ordered mobil to pay as announced by Omokemesi, why is comandclem now going to supreme court as reported here today by Banjo?" Braggart saibuhari, in order to convince VIEWERS and prove that you are reasonable, reliable, responsible, dependable and sane, please QUOTE ME where I "announced" that President Jonathan had ordered Mobil to pay royalty to Comandclem as "gleefully" claimed in your post. If you cannot point out anywhere in this Assembly where I published what you accused me of, you should bury your head in shame! Saibuhari is resolutely after me while the Almighty God is definitely behind me. I pray that God will not let you run mad in your desperate and wicked bid to run me down in this Assembly. ~OMOKEMESI

A  DISGRACE TO NIGERIA                                                                 Where Inventors are celebrated annually by Governments/ Nationals in other countries, such as United States and  Argentina, see the way "yahoo boys" are recklessly debasing and disgracing our own Inventor  on this Thread!                                                                    The fact that Prof Clement Uwemedimoh has not been paid his royalty by Mobil has not robbed him of the Patent right granted him by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 1999.                                                     I don't think Mobil has contested the ownership of the invention of the Special paint after the Appeal Court judgement of 2009.                                               I am wondering why this unfortunate posts should be allowed to continue.                                            I am sorry for this country where talents are not commensurately recognized, and elders are not given due respect.                                                                     ~OMOKEMESI

@ saibuhari, I have noticed that you have threatened several times to order Seun to close this Thread. If I may ask, is saibuhari the REAL OWNER of Nairaland Forum? Are you merely using Seun as a Front? Or you have the demonic power to hypnotize Seun, the owner of Nairaland, to dance to your whims and caprices? Saibuhari! Will you TAKE OVER the entire Nairaland Forum if Seun disobeys your order to close Comandclem Patentees Assembly? You better rush to the hospital and check your BP. I want you to realize that well meaning and very intelligent Nigerians include those viewing this Thread. They have discovered the type of person you are through your useless posts exhibiting your "empty" knowledge of the genesis of the Comandclem/Mobil case. You want me to publish the FULL TEXT of Court of Appeal judgement in this Assembly as if you are the owner of Nairaland. If you were Seun, you would not have asked me to use the space such judgement will occupy here for nothing.

@ thank you fyneguy. Please do not release or publish any document until you seek clearance from Comandclem.  This is in order not to act against the law since it appears the Supreme Court is likely to be the next place to "visit". I am not trying to gag you. If you have a lawyer as a friend, you can seek advice from him or her too. We need to be extra careful on this Thread now as far  the law of contempt of the court is concerned.                                                            Saibuhari has no facts or materials to defend Mobil or defeat Comandclem in this "kangaroo" People's Appeal Court.  So  we have nothing to worry about.                                                    What he has in his brief case is just a voluminous                   "Dictionary of abusive words and meanings".                                                          Courts deal with FACTS  and responsible Viewers would like both of us to place  FACTS before the JUDGES who are viewers.                                                               It reminds me of a court session I attended about 35 years ago, where a Judge shook his head and told a University don:  "IT IS ONE THING TO BE AN INTELLECTUAL, IT IS ANOTHER THING TO BE AN INTELLIGENT INTELLECTUAL" !                                                    ~OMOKEMESI
