Beeni ooo. Make i tell you something bro.

I was looking at my parents pictures smiling the other day when i saw twood comment about "nigerians are as dishonest and fraudulent". I looked at my parents picture again and this thought came saying if what your parents you adore so much are as dishonest and fraudulent? The thought just flashed through my mind.

That is to show you how words can go a long way but then i remembered he's also nigerian with family and i concluded in my heart that then " His family are also as dishonest and fraudulent" if what he's saying about Nigerians are true

You are such a confusionist and one of the problems we have as a nation. Infact you should be ashamed of your self for blaming TWoods for the way you think. Is he responsible for the way you translate his advise into your own thoughts or has he in anyway mentioned your parents? People like you are the major problems we have as a country! I can only feel so sorry for you. Is this the kind of mentality you want to use to raise your own kids? You really have a long way to go

My destiny or my blessings are not in the hands of man. Twood or no Twood I am born to succeed.

I would advise you to eradicate this usual “I no send” “abegi” mentality and try to always pick out the truth in every harsh words to work better on yourself. Why should you be worried about what someone said as long as you pick a point out of it. This is a faceless forum and if I were you, I’ll just extract the facts in the rankings and leave the rest for the thread.

they were not coming with me, the question was will they be coming with you? Not will they ever join you during your program

Just have them apply for visiting visa after you get settled in the US. The F2 is already cast according to the reason you have earlier

Good day all, my wife and daughter F2 visa delayed at Abuja this morning majorly because I stated during my own interview they were not coming with me which was true at the time.
Please any helpful advice? And when is the next available date in Abuja? I am so devastated right now.

So you still want to go ahead to reschedule another interview after getting the reason they were denied at first? Well, this is one of the things TWoods keeps scolding people on, but because of the fact that we fail to adhere to our reality, you get to see people of like minds attacking the dude for giving the bitter truth! I can only wish you all the best bro, but believe me the VO has recorded every details so regardless how many times you reapply, the next VO would see the details on their system!

Good morning house! Had my Visa interview this morning and was placed on AP. After tapping the keyboard for ages and telling me " just a minute" like a 100 times,The VO went thus " I will be keeping your passport but something is not coming up in my system so I will be placing you on Administrative process " asterisk "Administratover process " in the white paper and hand it to me. i will communicate to you through e mail on your status. No documents asked for both during and after the interview. So what are my chances. People around was telling congratulations. Please what should i do.

Just relax! If everything you filled on your DS160 is real, you’ll be fine. Since no document was asked, they might want to call your workplace or something. They’ll verify something somehow and issue your visa. You might want to post your transcripts for gurus’ perusal

Congrats in advance

What exactly is the purpose of the horrifying pictures? it doesn't honor the victims at all. it dehumanizes them. So what it the purpose of those threads on the home page? it is still morning and so much bad news on the home page.

We need to do better collectively.

Well, that is what Nairaland has become now! Well, the US is a very organized society and its not something like the typical Nigerian System. You can do or become whatever you want, but don’t toy with their law! They won’t forgive you, they are not emotional when it comes to breaking laws. It’s like their Holy Grail! The best we can do here is to advise people. No one is here to intimidate you.

I will advice you get at least a year's school fees even if you want to go and hustle when you get to school. You can do your best to be an outstanding student in your first year as this will give you chances of getting funding. Although you can get there and defer admission by maximum of a year, I know a friend who did that.

This is a completely WRONG information. There is no way in the world you can defer an admission or semester for a year in the US as an international student. Defeating one single semester is enough to knock you off status because your school would report you to DHS and your sevis could get terminated. Your friend is lying to you. He has probably fallen off status to become an illegal immigrant!

Really bad advice... did you read his post at all?

What you ask to do is impossible... regardless of how long you pray. Your stay in the US is only legal so long as you are maintaining full time attendance at the school listed on your visa. Should you "defer" your admission, your school is required by law to report to the USCIS, which then considers your visa at that point to no longer be valid. Your proposed stay in the US for 1 year then becomes illegal. Once you've overstayed a visa, you cannot adjust status back to F1 within the US. You will have to come back to Nigeria to obtain another F1 visa. Since you would have overstayed your visa by longer than 6 months, you can be rest assured of a lengthy ban from obtaining another US visa.

Best and only advice anyone can give you - if you cannot afford to school in the United States, then stay in Nigeria or find another school that will offer you funding. Being illegal in the US is worse than living in Nigeria. Anyone who tells you that you can work under the table and afford school fees in the thousands of dollars is lying to you... once you get here, those same people will abandon you to your fate.

Gbakam!!! Nukka killed it, nailed the coffin and buried it! shocked abeg make I go sleep first grin

Nigerians love "solutions", that is why the country has the largest churches on earth and yet is one of the most corrupt and poor... all seeking for "solutions" without realizing that they are the problem. Cutting corners, laissez faire attitudes to legitimate laws, lack of integrity, lax principles [even when they all claim to be "godly"], THESE are the problems with Nigeria... the solution is to change your attitude, not run away to other countries built on the firm foundations of honesty, morality and the rule of law.

But wait oo been trying to figure out something in my head since morning and can't think straight maybe people with travel experience and those in America can help me sad

So one of my brother friend travel to America ( his mom have been living there for more than 20yrs now) he just Army and like play like play 3months later dude drives a Benz of 43million naira ...another one travel and before anybody will say 7months dude was telling us how he does little things with maunul labor ( he looks like hulk anyways grin) he says he can now say he's worth $153k cash no assest as at November this year shocked

Question: how did some Nigerian get over there and 1,2 they are making million some Nigerian are still ok but not that financial ok and some American ( yes citizen ) can't hit their chest of owning even $2k and yet they work
I remember talking to a lady in America I think in her late 40s she had an Arab buyer for Nigeria ginger that was how we started talking one conversation to another and she said she haven't had $5k cash of hers before shocked abeg shey some people hustle pass some people abi na wetin??

My people abeg the matter don tire me pls explain people that live there.

Cc blowjobs,sirhamilton,manoftheyear,error404

Lol... Your guy that joined army probably got his green card with that. You can drive any car of your choice in America if you have a good job that pays you monthly! You don’t have to put down full cash to get a car except you actually have that much money, but most people buy cars or houses on mortgage, all the bank does is to take out the monthly payment from your checks for whatever years it takes to complete the payment. It all depends on having a good job to show and America is ready to give you credit.

Your other guy with $153k might be working 3 jobs together maybe at construction site or something, but believe me he must be working super hard and spending super less to take that much up in 7 months. Bills alone in America is enough to keep you stuck in the middle class, most Americans don’t have savings because they live on credit, but then there are actually people who got money too. So it’s a two way thing! If you are smart, you’ll live comfortably and not worry about taking up billions.... at the end of the day, both the rich and poor lives comfortably in America, the only difference is that the rich pay up their cars and houses at once while the other ones get theirs on credit and have to keep paying it from their pay check till whenever they complete payment which solves the reason why most Americans don’t have savings cuz they are paying bills, mortgages, car loans and whatever loans they are on.

You get the picture now?

I don’t see a lot of knowledge sharing from you either. There is this warped mentality that “sharing knowledge” means spoon feeding you so you can simply come here and crib what I did without having to do any thinking of your own. I am here to have a good time until work starts up next week. I have zero obligations to you.

Sharing knowledge to me means giving you the tips that helped me to succeed, like adequate time to plan, thinking about costs of living with respect to your eventual choice of school, places to go for better information etc. anything else is a waste of time.

And then zero chill was given cheesy

I will weigh that with how much it costs to live outside of the dorms. Jersey city has the third highest rent in the US. Average rent here is $2700/month. Assume that is shared by 3 people at worst, that is still $900/month. Add $100/month for feeding (i'm trying to be really cheap here), $200/month for gas, electric and internet (again i want to be very cheap) and that brings you to $1200/month. At the end of the day, you pick your poison. If i had a choice, i would never go to school in a place like NYC or Jersey city when there are places like NM, Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas etc.

You can consider living outside jersey city if you can get cheaper rent but that is canceled out by transportation costs so you're back to square one.

I lived off campus all through graduate school, but i was being paid $18,500/year living expenses by the school, which was more than enough to cover the costs.

Hehe! Why person no go blast GPA naw!
