Travel / Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Omoluv5: 10:14pm On Jan 20
Good day everyone!

Please, is there anyone who has gotten a job offer from Nova Scotia Health here before, or you know about how long their recruitment process takes?

I applied for a health support aide role since December which is in progress, just curious as to how long I will have to wait for...

Thank you.

Oh really? Even though we mentioned that the applications are from outside the UK? I never knew about this...
Thank you.

fatima04:

This seems to be the norm with in-country application. They will send an email for IHS top up fund when the application is being evaluated

I'm hopeful they'll see it as an error following the note attached to it as Justwise advised... Thank you

Viruses:

I'm more concerned about the error if the VO will see it as an error or mis-representation.

Thanks so much, note added already, i'm grateful!

justwise:

Regarding the error your husband made.. add a note to the application during appointment to call the ECO attention to it , the IHS will be sorted out by ECO the moment they noticed it and you will be sent a link to make the payment..

Thanks so much for your response...

Ogbaba123:
This is the right thing to do. Ukvi will definitely contact you to get their money. It wasn’t your fault they didn’t request as normal

No idea about that but if you have your appointment date sealed, then go for it and see if it works. The option I thought best to avoid issues is what I've suggested. All the best

Ah! I just saw this now, so this will work? Thank you so much for your response Justwise, it means alot to me, i'm so so relieved cos right now no extra money to pay visa fees...
Thank God!!!
God bless you!!!

justwise:

Yes they will, those people like money too much, go ahead with the application but keep that money aside as you will need to make the payment at some point.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Omoluv5: 9:08am On Dec 15, 2022
We tried to fill a sample form with new details and ticked a different option for the declaration part this morning but another page came up that didn't when he filled the form the last time, but when we got to the IHS payment part it still showed total as 0.0 and we were prompted to continue... now we don't even know where the error was made because obviously it's not even the declaration he earlier made that caused it.

I don't know if it's clear enough, just so confused right now.

Thank you

You said your husband mistakenly declared under 18. Has that mistake been corrected or it does not matter?
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Omoluv5: 5:56am On Dec 15, 2022
Okay, thank you so much for your response...

Meanwhile, someone is advising we go ahead with submitting the biometrics because UKVI will definitely contact us to make the IHS payment before they make decisions. How true please?

bigtt76:
Cancel the application/appointment and re-do it again. Funds may take time to be refunded though so you need to make provision for the extra cash to do this.

Please my people, I need help!!!

What can be done if UK dependents (children only) visa fee was paid and biometrics appointment successfully booked without IHS payment?

While filling the visa application forms, my husband mistakenly declared under 18 (we think that's where the error was made), made payments and booked a date only to realise that he hasn't paid the IHS fee, and the page to do that is no longer coming up. He sent a mail to IHS through the addresses he was able to get online on Sunday, but we haven't heard anything from them since then and the appointment date is next week...

Has anyone experienced this before? Thank you

Crystal clear! Thanks abunch!

giselle237:
someone already responded to you with accurate information. There is no 6 months anything. As long as they get the visas before passport expiry and they successfully travel, then nothing to fear. Remember with renewing here they’ll need NIN and for each child costs 30 pounds but this can be done in Nigeria for free.. so best to get that before coming here.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Omoluv5: 11:11pm On Oct 07, 2022
Okay, but is it true that your passport must have a minimum of 6months validity before you can gain entry into the UK? This is where my confusion lies, if it doesn't matter, then we're better off renewing in the UK...

AlphaUno:

The choice is yours to renew from Nigeria or wait till it expires here, provided that they would be in the UK before May ‘ 23
If you have a sure plug that will assure you b4 application, then I will say sort everything in 9ja

Good day everyone!

Please I need help, we'll submit dependents visa application for our kids in November, but the passports of 2 out of the 3 will be expiring in May 2023, what can we do now to avoid any issues with immigration? Will renewal still be possible?

Thanks for your responses

mohtunrahyor:

Please include your school fees balance in the POF (if you have outstanding), someone shared her story on IG about how her children were denied because UKVI expected them to have included the balance.

Yes, thanks, but going to get them myself when it's time.

Have you checked the airline’s conditions for unaccompanied minor ticket? Most times it’s restricted to kids that are 12 years and above.

Thanks so much for your response.
They're yet to apply though, we'll just go ahead then with the POF account we used initially, and back it up with a consent letter...

AlphaUno:

They already have their visas issued so I don’t see any issue except at the POE (point of entry) where you might be required to access maintenance fund directly on your mobile banking app.
So, any of the parent’s account should do since you guys both wrote UKVI a financial consent letter.

Thanks so much for your input, from my research, Royal airmaroc seem to be the only airline allowing minimum age 2 to travel unaccompanied, though they won't allow kids travel alone on a dependents visa without the main applicant since it is one of the visa requirements. I, being the main applicant will go get them. I appreciate you!

Meanwhile, will it be an issue if the POF is left in my husband's account? We used his account to process our visas when both of us applied in July,
or should we move it to mine since I will have to go for the kids? Will a consent letter from him suffice?

Sorry for the many questions please...

they do take care of them amazingly. I have done this severally for my siblings when I didn't want headache.
They are treated same way as 1st class ticket travellers. They dnt stay on any queue. On their flights, the captain of the flight is made aware of them.
They’ll stay in the first or business class lounge if any transits.. they’ll be taken off the plane by the airline and then taken through all security check points..they dnt stress.. when they reach their destination it’s same thing through customs.. and then onto their luggage. They will wait with them and call the contact information and wont hand them over to anyone else until the assigned pick up person comes.
They never ever go through any process alone.
The airline assigns people to them THROUGH everything from start of trip till end.
My problem is the 3 year old.. tht one is a baby. If you are exploring this option then choose direct flight

I don't know about 3years but my youngest sister travelled so many times with unaccompanied minor to different countries. She was always well taken care of and never had a bad experience....

That been said, since its 3 kids, and the youngest is still so young . I would go bring them if it was me. Especially if it not a direct flight ....

One of you should go and bring those kids. If you had a teenager among them, it would have been a bit easier but they all under 10 years.

Okay, will be extra sure of the cut off age from Royal airmaroc tomorrow, learnt they do 2yrs minimum

Thanks

mizGene:

They do/will.
The idea is a bit uncomfortable but I believe it is doable. What you need to confirm is the cut off age, I didn't know a 3yr old can travel unaccompanied...

Hello everyone!
Please is it advisable to bring kids 7,5&3 from Nigeria to the UK with the unaccompanied minor flight ticket plan? They're coming to join I and my spouse on a dependents visa, I and spouse came in 2months ago, I'm the student, we're trying to cut down on travelling cost...

Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated, thanks as you share.

If you mean airport, Heathrow is good, Gatwick is good, Manchester is also good... Make your choice.

For airline, go for any that suits you. The amount you budgeted for it is the first determinant.

Please which airline is the best to use to Hull via Humberside. Or do you advise Heathrow.

Gloriyah:

I would suggest you go if you want a closer date. Yes, tho your kid won’t do the actual test but asked a few questions and then issued theTB certificate.
