1. King James I was a Christian who wanted the Bible in the hands of the common man. Commissioned the Authorized King James Bible in 1611.

12. He led a chaste life. Sir Henry Wotton (June 1602) said this of King James:

"There appears a certain natural goodness verging on modesty...He wears short hair...among his good qualities none shines more brightly than the chastness of his life, which he has preserved without stain down to the present time. Contrary to the example of almost all his ancestors, who disturbed the kingdom with the great number of bastards which they left."

F.A. Inderwick wrote in 1891:

"James had a reputation for learning, for piety, for good nature, and for liberality."

In 1603, Sir Roger Wilbaham wrote:

"The King is of sharpest wit and invention...of the sweetest most pleasant and best nature that I ever knew, desiring nor affecting anything but true honor."

13. King James loved literature and wrote extensively including the Basilicon Doron which contains instructions to his son on how to live and be a just king. King James' advice to his son concerning chastity:

Why should the one half be clean, and other defiled? Advice to his son on how to treat his wife.

"And for your behavior to your wife, the Scripture can best give you counsel therein. Treat her as your own flesh, command her as her lord, cherish her as your helper, rule her as your pupil, please her in all things reasonable, but teach her not to be curious in things that belong not to her. You are the head, she is your body, it is your office to command and hers to obey, but yet with such a sweet harmony as she should be as ready to obey as you to command, as willing to follow as you to go before, your love being wholly knit unto her, and all her affections lovingly bent to follow your will."

14. King James loved his wife, Queen Anne, and wrote beautifully of her. They had nine children together. Once, while out hunting, Queen Anne mistakenly killed King James' favorite dog. Sir Dudley Carleton wrote in 1613:

Evolution just like Heliocentricity (That the earth moves round the sun) are scientific theories because they have been put through rigorous testing and have always come up to be true. Scientific theories are similiar to what non scientists call "Laws" that is why in scientific circles, it is referred to as the 'Law of Evolution" etc. But scientists need to know every single detail before they tell the general public that something is a law. On that note, till we confirm every existing fossil or find every missing transitional specie, we will still refer to Evolution as a theory. Not because it is not true (modern biology, geology, etc are based on evolution and are doing very well by applying the theory), but because we don't want to stop looking for possible errors in them. The same for Heliocentricity, we know from experiments and observations that the earth goes round the sun, but till we know every detail about the sun or verify if the earth is actually moving around the sun or a point close to the centre of the sun, it will still be referred to as a theory. In both cases, the two theories are true, scientists just want to wait a while longer before telling the public that they are now laws.
And about the first cell, it was simply a combination of the six basic elements that make up life (Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon, Potassium and Sodium) to form a self replicating molecule. This is a process that happens naturally in the universe, but takes millions to billions of years to form. Once it forms, it takes few million years to develop into biological cells and from there through reproduction to advance lifeforms.
And about the big bang, quantum mechanics (the study of very tiny sub atomic particles) indicate that what we perceive as 'nothing' or a 'vacuum' is actually a combination of energy and dark energy cancelling out their effects. This means that 'nothing' is very unstable with matter appearing and disappearing constantly at a sub atomic level. To better understand it, imagine every star in our universe as a quark (smaller that electrons or neutrons or protons) and our universe as a giant nuclear bomb that is still expanding after an explosion. With time the expansion will stop and the particles would come back together on a subatomic scale.

[/b]Suspected Ebola patient causes panic at Lagos airport[b]

Passengers and other users of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos were on Wednesday thrown into panic as a suspected Ebola patient was flown into the country by Royal Air Maroc in the early hours of the day.

The Moroccan airline arrived Lagos from Casablanca at 6am.

The victim, one Theophilus Onnakhinon, a Nigerian, was said to have been flown into the country by the airline, while his younger brother, Chinedu Eroka, absconded from Sierra Leonean authorities.

As at the time of filing this report, it was not clear why Eroka absconded from the Sierra Leone.

A source close to the Port Health Services at the airport, who spoke on condition of anonymity, explained that the passenger had already been treated for the Ebola Virus Disease and declared cured.

The source said the passenger was assisted into the country by a Nigerian consular official, Mrs. T. Mohammed.

According to the source, the consular officer accompanied Onnakhinon into the country in order to avoid stigmatisation by Nigerian health officials and others at the airport.

On arrival, he was immediately handed over to the Port Health officials, who immediately isolated and quarantined him.

As of the time of filing this report, Onnakhinon was still being observed by the Port Health officials.

The source said that the essence of his being quarantined was for the officials to determine his health status and confirm that he was indeed free of the disease before being allowed to integrate into the society.

Not fewer than 17 people have been confirmed killed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Ndongo village of Maffa Local Government Area of Borno State, North-East Nigeria.



The Chairman of Mafa Local Government Area, Shettima Maina, who confirmed the incident to newsmen on Sunday in Maiduguri, said, “Seventeen persons were killed by the attackers after last Thursday’s attack on Ndongo community and the bodies of the victims were buried yesterday in Mafa.”

He revealed said that the sect members also raided villages in Maffa Local Government with the abduction of 30 boys and girls from the ages of 13 and above, adding that the terrorists equally abduct girls from the ages of 11 and take them to their unknown base.

“Based on information available to us, about 30 youths have been abducted in the last couple of days. Once they raid a community, they abduct boys from the age of 13 and above,” the Chairman said.

He appealed to the Federal Government to come to the aid of the community.

“These insurgents are unleashing terror on daily bases in the various communities in our Local Government and beyond and we call on the Federal Government to help save our lives from these merciless rebels.”

A resident of Maffa, who confirmed the killings and abduction to newsmen in Maiduguri, also said that the dreaded sect members went away with many cows belonging to the people of the area.
