TheBizGenius:Brainstorming doesn't work because the people with all the cards (running the industry) don't care. So you and your ideas will be ignored, unless you have skin in the game. Anakle Studios, Niyi Akinfolayan and some other young directors are trying to push for better productions but scripts are still lacking and every BBNaija star wants to become an actor, talent be damned. When Afrobeats was hot, Nigerian Ministry of Culture should have been so aggressive in organizing guest spots, concerts, throw money at movie studios, music directors, musicians, performance, offered full support to concert organisers in every state, paid influencers to attend our concerts and pushed us ahead. Give them grants to offset these bills and make sure they produce content and push it everywhere. Now Afrobeats is cooling down, Tyla has become its face and they're going to head to SA. Nothing in Nigeria works because everyone wants to do their own thing and everyone wants flashy over substance. We used to have really good production crews trained by the BBC. I'm sorry but Nigeria is regressing so badly it's sad. I'm tired of saying "we used to have..." in every industry. Look at NTA, we went from having local television stations to relying on foreign content save for news and how many people watch Channels and Arise? What happened to all the other TV stations? We have no indigenous children's content anymore Abeg I don tire |
GloriousGbola:Lighting chop heavy electricity and we are limited in what we can do (special effects will be very limited). Another problem, like someone rightly said in this topic, is that he wants a loan but doesn't want to give equity in his studio. Nigerians don't know how to collaborate with each other. So everyone prefers to do one-man business. If he's willing to sell stake in his studios, I'm sure he'll find investors. |
KobolanderSegun:Over 20 years ago, my family home was used for Nollywood movies. Over 10 years ago, I worked with Kunle Afolayan and several big productions crews that aren't affiliated to him. I'm also lucky to have in my family someone (not Nigerian) who has worked with so many big Hollywood stars and has gotten production credits on movies you've downloade and made box office numbers. I assure you, the reason nobody takes Nigerian movies seriously and invests in them (Netflix has pulled out even) is because of our poor scripts and poor production. Even when Netflix gave our studios money, they spent on production value, still did rubbish and chopped the money. Netflix was thinking we would be the next South Korea Hallyu, because everyone was loving Afrobeats. We've squandered that chance and hundreds of thousands of jobs and economic growth. You can have an average script, some big names with average talent and quality supporting actors and great productiom values and make bank. Examples include Fast&Furious franchise. Nobody went to watch them for the plot, they went to watch them because they were throwing a vehicle through a building. That's great production value. If you're going to shoot a whole movie on a single camera (your movie-in-a-room), better get the level of script that wins Oscars and a Director like Scorsese and talent like Kaluuya. Not Adesuwa Etomi, Toby from Big Brother and Funke Akindele. Only the old Nollywood guard from Theatre backgrounds can act. Nigeria can keep half-arsing it and hoping to dominate via numbers. One day, Rwanda will get enough. Foreign staff to train their local staff and they'll take over (they're already catching up for Education Tech and they were chasing Film Festivals a few years ago). Then we'll be left in the dust. cc The BizGenius |
KobolanderSegun:You can't build Studios for shooting film and tv with large windows. The offices themselves may have windows but the actual sets cannot have big windows. 1. It would be hard to control lighting and lighting is everything in film making. Imagine trying to shoot bright sunny day during rainy season and dark clouds, you'll have to keep postponing until you can see sunshine. 2. It would be hard to control sound. Every plane that flies over, danfos and horns in traffic honking will drown out your ambient sounds. Which means you'll pay extra to re-shoot or have the actors come in another day and do voice work in a sound studio. All these cost production money, as you have to pay crew and cast so they don't leave the set until your production is done. Sets are usually like warehouses, so no windows o |
Precious201010:Thanks for this. I guess I thought Redmi would be equal to a cheaper Samsung |
Precious201010:Please how much is screen repair? Because that's how phone repairers use it to gather their rent money |
Please recommend abeg: I need one with a very good camera, rugged and good battery life. I use it for work so I run apps like Canva, CamScanner and other apps, as well as social media apps. Budget N250,000 plus or minus Thank you |
GloriousGbola:That's the right thing to do. However, we Nigerians must be ready to support her to the last so she doesn't get retribution on her house. And that will be impossible because if she's not Yoruba, some people will immediately attack her. And with time, Nigerians with their fickle attention span will forget and her leave her to suffer alone for doing the right thing. That's why it's so hard to get justice here: you must be like Sowore and be ready to go down fighting, alone. |
Kanwulia, the video GloriousGbola posted had some answers. Men who run off and leave their families for another woman usually have some specific traits Selfishness, Cowardliness, Insecurities, lack of with women, especially when they were younger What they didn't get to do as young men, they have a glow-up (money, looks, Chris Watts was both), women start flocking to them, they believe they're now one of the Cool Guys/Bad Guys instead of being "Nice Guys" (who were getting walked over) and fall prey to manipulative, damaged women. Women who other men had discarded and can smell his insecurities a mile away. I remember this IG video of a hot white (blonde, young, pretty) female bartender and she used to pay her bills with these guys. She said she never went after the married men hitting on her (lion pursuing lion) but would go after the quiet guys wearing their wedding rings complaining about their wives (lion hunting deer). The quiet ones usually get carried away with their emotions and think what is an infatuation is great love. They also don't want wahala (too cowardly to admit they want to cheat), plus they don't want to look like bad guys, so they make up stories: "my wife was a narcissist, abusive, hated my family, never gave me peace" The Manipulative Other Woman will give them ultimatums to leave their wives (remember, she's a damaged person and her ego is soothed by having that much control over a man, after more experienced men have dealt with her). So they'll leave their wives and then find out the hard way what they've done. And pushed to the wall, the deeply disturbed ones become Chriss Watts. It always ends in regrets. |
Kanwulia:I know Nigerian men who have done almost similar. Stopping just short of killing their families because they believe they're in love with another woman. They're so infatuated but then start seeing the setbacks (less money, people judging their decision, the stress and toll of divorce) and want to start afresh with their newfound love. So they're ready to destroy anything in their way to protect the new love. It is really crazy when you listen to them, the utter deep hatred for their wives because of an infatuation, there's no even "my 1st wife wasn't all bad", it goes to "that demonic wife nearly ended my life! I'm so in love now and saved by my new peace of mind!". And the new found love never lasts or never works out well. My relative saw his wife who just gave birth bleeding out in the hospital and cruelly said "you're still here?". On top of another woman who he married as 2nd wife. Years later, full regret. Pastor Christy Bature's father slapped and nearly destroyed her mum, because of another woman. 7 yrs later, 2nd marriage packed up and he moved to the village and did 3rd marriage. Never found happiness again and only her mum mourned him when he died And when their eyes clear, the men never admit how badly they messed up. They just hope everything will be silently resolved, they will be given grace and forgiveness and nobody should bring up the past. And of course, it was all the fault of the jezebel who tempted them, nothing is their fault. The way this Chris Watts side chic denied him after he got arrested was bad. I wonder how that made him feel. I read an article that said he eventually admitted he regretted it all, but it is all the fault of his mistress for deceiving him. |
She's saying marrying an Igbo man is already a lot, then refusing to agree on where the kids will attend? Firstly, I'm not a fan of all this "you must attend my church or na die". Both churches are Christian-based churches. But if it's important to you and if it's important to her and both of you can't agree...maybe take a break and decide? Like a poster said earlier, "neither of you is in agreement" and you should be. Marriage is really hard, even with people who attend the same church and are from the same tribe. If these are big issues to you two...maybe have a rethink? And either agree on what you will both do and then stick to the plan (no changing mind years later unless willingly) or gently let each other go. |
Ittakescourage, please be careful to ignore every poster above mine (trust me on this). Now uhmmm, The first year of Separation is usually the worst. The emotional fallout and craziness is enough for both of you to go full America vs Iran and be throwing bombs at each other in hatred. Nobody cares about the welfare of the kids. Not even you (and I'll tell you why later). So here's what to do: 1. Breathe and start praying about your healing. Don't think of anything else except forgiving that man, I didn't say reconcile, I am very clear: FORGIVE HIM. It is for your own sake and your own peace of mind (because I know you feel relief but the pain is enormous and you have to put a brave face on. Even women that their husbands beat them, they still grieved over what could have been). 2. He's in a lot of pain. Yes, I know he's acting like an arsehole, but trust me: that man is missing his boys and he is blaming you for "ruining his life". He's not ready to take accountability for his own actions and the only thing that makes him feel better is hating you and attacking you. Even if he's dating another woman, it will be a rebound because he spent all his time talking about how evil you are and how you stole his boys. 3. Call his family and your family and put them on the same WhatsApp call. Now, Babe, listen up: BE VERY RESPECTFUL AND POLITE ON THAT CALL. KILL YOUR EMOTIONS, DIE THEM, BURY THEM. You need to calmly tell them what he's doing, that he's hurting the kids and they should rein their son in. That will be a hard pill for his family to swallow, they can get defensive. Which is why you're going to be polite like you're speaking to Dangote or Tinubu. Give them no ammunition. Tell them that boys need their father, so please anytime he wants to visit or call, he should do so. But he shouldn't let his emotions destroy his relationship with his sons. Tell them that you're never going to poison your sons' minds against their dad, but his behaviors may do so. Children should never be used to fight the other spouse but it happens a lot because 2 adults are hurting and fighting like elephants and children are the grass. After that call, start sending him weekly updates on the kids. Send their exam results for this term to him, in April. Even if he's not paying schoolfees, still send it. Marriage may be over, but you and that man are joined till the day you die, he dies or those boys die. Repeat that to yourself everything you wanna lose your shi.t over something he's doing. Your husband cannot remember that right now but I pray he will one day. By the way, you cannot file in Nigeria until one more year. You can find some unscrupulous lawyer to help you concoct something to file, but know that it will have a full custody battle in Magistrate Court and they will have to send Child Welfare officers (whom you'll foot the bill for) to visit your home and the kids school. Also know that Magistrates will not be lenient if they think you're using the kids against them. Which is why I'm asking you to do these things and document it all, with witnesses And Divorce is filed in a different court, before a Judge. Better ask that man calmly for money, before you kill yourself with stress or he foolishly decides to remarry one chick so he can get custody and then watch her deal with him and his sons. What do you think you're trying to prove, doing Superwoman, do you want to die of HBP ![]() Breathe. Calm down. Get on your knees in prayer. And don't ask God to punish him , leave it to the Lord, both of you messed up and you never know how your story will end. |
victoryenergy:All they can do is sue for fraud, nothing more. It's because Nigerians don't follow the law and act with impunity that you see all sorts. The boy wasn't born posthumously, so these shenanigans are unnecessary. If the boy is biologically Mohbad's, his Grandfather will start insisting on taking custody from Wunmi and next thing you'll be hearing she does drugs and sleeps around. None of this is about the child or late son's welfare, it's all about greed. |
It is an absolute waste of money. They should have picked 1 in Nigeria, 1 in UK max. How much money does the father think will be left after this? Does he have any idea what type of music deal the late singer signed? Most don't see any money until years after and it isn't like his career had taken off bigly. And if after all this, the 3 tests prove the boy is biologically belonging to Mohbad, the widow should sue the late father for everything he has, to cover her legal fees. People in our society need to learn the consequences of greed. |
chatinent:😂😂😭😭 Stop watching so many TV shows abeg Jokes apart, she must have been in a very emotionally fragile state when she was with that guy |
Gerrard59:Just heard of another brilliant Nigerian Mathematician: Professor Monsur Akangbe Kenku, he's late now. Nigerians of nowadays don't realize how many Ivy League-educated Nigerians came back to serve their Motherland and were dealt with. We had scientists and economists leaving jobs at NASA and London Exchange eagerly for Nigeria and they all regretted it. And now look at the current generation... Private Universities started so well but majority of them don't seem to have a focus other than make profits and graduate kids without strike. CU used to poach the best lecturers from public universities and bring out the most polished grads but I'm no longer sure. Where did we as a country get it so wrong? |
This was over 10 years ago, is he still in Nigeria? A serious private university should have approached him and offered him millions to tenure with them. Build their department of Mathematics, pump out top-notch students and start placing in international spots (through the right networking). Then use that as a selling point to prospective parents and students: "our school hires the best and produces the best". |
Good job on this 👏 Let's keep pushing for fully Nigerian research that is done completely in Nigeria. We need more laboratories and research facilities. |
obi4eze:So the curriculum never changes? Weird. At least some of the Science questions should have changed a bit. And they can update the Math questions as well. OP FreddyDaniel this is a good analysis |
folake4u:Nigerians are like turkeys, always voting for Christmas and never realizing that means they will be the main course on the menu. |
Update on my Speedaf order: I found someone who used to work for them. He called some of their people and they sIs they would retrieve my package from Alaba...for a fee. So I agreed on payment when received. Before payment, however, Alaba sent back my package to their distribution center, that it was wrongly sent to them. Now the Distribution center has sent it to the right Speedaf office and I should hopefully get it soon. And I didn't have to pay 💃 |
2mch:Thank you! I'm so tired of seeing men repeat the same mistake then expect that their case will be different "My happiness! My mental health! My peace of mind!". Nonsense and ingredients, selfishness, lust and infatuation masking as Love. My mum is almost 80, she always laughs when she hears those words and says "the love go finish one day nau, we will be here to see what happens next". There's nothing she hasn't seen. Once kids are involved, stay with that woman. You think God will watch you hurt His most innocent human creation and let you enjoy? The Lord of mercy AND justice? He even ignored his kids for 4 years to placate his wife and she's still not happy. Because from the get-go he made it clear she was more important than his own flesh-and-blood, now he's acting shocked that she is demanding he continues what he started. Men, your children come first before any new woman. From the first date, tell the new babe: "You are getting a package deal with me and my kids. I fully expect you to be pounding yam for my kids, I expect you to shop for birthday gifts for them without me asking you to, prepare to be doing homework with them and if none of this is acceptable to you, please let me know so we end things before it goes too far" |
Naya261:Why pick UK? There's no benefit there because you're not going to get citizenship and even Permanent Residency will be harder than usual. Why not Australia? |
Omo mehnnnn See, Nigeria is not a country built on Love. We don't love ourselves in any way, we're not a community, we can be laughing with you and deceiving you, we no dey forgive, we will steal from you even when not necessary, we are not compassionate. It is hard for most people growing up in such a society to step-parent a child. Then add that your wife has no kids of her own, now you brought another woman's own for her. She's pouring out her sorrows and rage upon that child. And I'm sure when you two were courting, one or 2 signs were there that this would happen (there are always signs). Don't marry anyone who has even 1% skoin skoin towards kids that aren't hers. She's never going to change. Worse, your baby mama has remarried. Which means you can't relocate her and your daughters from an unsafe environment because you're no longer the Head of that family (Hindsight is always 20:20, you probably didn't factor complications such as these when you chose to have 2 kids outside and not marry the Mother. Once children are involved, please stay with the mother and leave your happiness on your back pocket, don't be selfish, because someone must pay the price for your "happiness" ). You're not overreacting, you gave your wife ample time to prepare. You have to make a painful decision. Either pick your kids or your wife. Your wife needs counselling, to understand her grief at her infertility and to learn how to accept your girls. Her pain is destroying everything she's touching Your case is hard, but start praying seriously to Our Lord for wisdom and patience. And start asking God to work on you. Yes, you. |
Let me make everyone laugh: My order was 2 packages, this one I'm chasing around came a week before the 2nd one. As of this evening, the 2nd package was not only seamlessly sent to the right Speedaf office near my house, it was delivered this evening. The Alaba2 one, I'm still pursuing 😮💨 just praying it comes tomorrow. The delivery man said it's computer sorting that determines which package goes where, they have no control over it. Which means that they can give your package to a logistics person somewhat far from you and it would be hassle for them to deliver just your package so the logistics company can decide to wait and pile up more packages going to your location or do the delivery at their own convenience. Which is why you suddenly start seeing that you "changed the delivery day" or "were unreachable", they have to give Speedaf an excuse for why they didn't deliver. |
Noah13:Na wa I just got a text that another package I was expecting has been sent to the right Speedaf office near me. I'm just tired. When I first started ordering last year, everything went so smoothly, I was hyping them everywhere. Now see😭 |
Engrduke:Building and maintenance of public toilets is a major inadequacy. It's why Nigeria is seen as a dirty country and we Nigerians are called unhygienic. It also shows a lack of poor public health and safety measures. And public toilets is under Governor ald LG Chairman's purview |
Noah13:At all. My last package came on Saturday, February 14th. Through a weird route also: last year my packages would go to Speedaf Festac office and then this year, they went to Ajao estate allegedly and then got sent to me. Speedaf Festac were the ones tracking it for me yesterday evening and all of sudden, this morning their website says the package was sent back to the Distribution center 2 days ago, when yesterday by 4.32pm, it was showing that the package was at Alaba2. There's nothing hard about the address either All I can hope for is that either Speedaf website is wrong or their 3rd party courier decided to send it back to be picked up by Speedaf Festac. |
noobody:I just checked now: Before, they took it to Alaba 2 (which is Ajangbadi and after Festac). Now they've updated that it has left Alaba2 and gone to another Distribution Center. I'm so confused. Why didn't they just sent it to Festac, which is close to my location? What is odd is that it has been at Alaba2, even yesterday evening (a staff checked), now Speedaf website is saying it left Alaba on the 16th. |
please does anyone know the address or number of Speedaf office, Alaba Lagos? I know they use 3rd party vendors. They updated my order that I requested for a change in delivery time. I did no such thing, I never even heard from them because I have no idea their contact. I've googled and there's no information, only Festac office. I called Speedaf and they don't pick their phones. Abeg help ![]() |
Please what is the love of Nigerians for titles? When did Local Government Chairman start calling themselves "Executive Chairman"? This is the 2nd time I've seen it in a week. ![]() |

, leave it to the Lord, both of you messed up and you never know how your story will end.
