It's overheating that's why it shuts down .. Check the environment you play the game. I bet you place the laptop on the sofa?

Then check the system requirements to see if your system qualifies.

why would you charge the laptop after water had gotten into itt... angry

Best thing is do not charge or connect it to the power source again. Also remove the battery. And next take it to an engineer.I hope you have not short circuited the motherboard with you charing the system.

nolly042: onegig and co pls help. My system is not booting telling me sorry for the inconvinience for not shutting down properly. It suggested safe mode, normal etc. I have tried all that yet it is not booting. Tried repair but d system is not seeing d cd bootable. What do i do?

First what is the operating system you are using and whats the laptop model?

1. Your cd not been recognized at startup is a function of you not selecting the cd as the first under the boot order.
when your system is starting up..click anything that will take you to the bios setup. i.e f2, f10, delete, Esc.

Find the setting for boot order and change your cd rom to be the first thing that boots.

If you use an hp...you can press f12 or f9 to display boot locations when starting up and can easily select cd rom.

About a mini been sold for 38k...I guesss that's true based on market feedbacks i have got but 320gb , 2gb ram...I hope say no be chinko...Least i have seen is 1gb ram, 160-250gb for 45K.

bong4: That is the message that comes up each time i try to boot up the system. It displays, "Power on Password", as in requesting for a password before it continues booting. This is not the users password. Thanks for your response.

you have got the bios password set to on...can you remember what you used?

Olamlag: Pls I need help from the gurus in the house Hello, my laptop is
HP G50 with 2G ram and 220 hard disk.
I was using it to play game yesterday when it frooze and all I did was to press the power button and it switched off, when I was to swicth it on back it shows the hp logo and and the bottom "press esc to start up menu after which it shows blank screen and the fan continues to run, I was able to go to bios to test the hard disk and ram all the test are passed, but I cudnt figure out what else is happening to it , pls help!

Good for you to have bricked your system. We keep telling you guys to be cautious when using systems which are of meant for playing games to play games. What you get is overheating and thus freezing the system. I you do an impproper shut down you might damage the motherboard, or even hard disk.

Since you have run the hdd and memory test What i suggest is for you to move on and remove any hardware you have connected to the system like flash or joy stick.

adewasco2k: try this im sure it will work.

remove it from power
remove the battery
hold down the power button for not less than 1 minute
replace back the battery
power on and see

ATX reset wont work for the laptop ade... cool

LEDs blink 5 times System board General system board failure. Thats from the Compaq website.

I guess he has to take it to a technician unless he's good technically i maybe be able to help out from here by giving descriptions on what he can do.
