mightyokwy:Tony said he is not going to court, APC as a party says they may go... |
BREAKING: Tony Nwoye Congratulates Obiano, Says APC May Go To Court. The candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC Dr Tony Nwoye has given a a thumbs up to the winner of the just concluded Anambra Gubernatorial election. In his words, I accept the results myself but it may not be the stand of the party. I am sure that INEC really compromised, imagine where the party chairman was arrested on the dawn of the election, party member arrested across the state. According to the party chairman, The party reported massive irregularities and manipulations. The results announced was online as at 4pm yesterday even when collation has not finished. The issues some places were left unattended, card readers didnt work credibly, They just bribed the electoral umpire’s ad-hoc staff and wrote the results on their own. APC PUBLICITY SECRETARY WRITES It has been a hectic contest and INEC declared a winner. However, neither the party ,APC, nor the candidate has had time to review a full compilation of field reports on the election and any congratulatory message by members of our party would be hasty, to avoid being inconsistent. Remember that should the party decide to use the information at its disposal now to press an election tribunal case,an early congratulatory message could be used against you. We used that of Late Dora Akunyili against her in 2011,when she later went to the tribunal. Chukwuma Soludo regretted his early 'gentlemanly' statement in 2010,and could no longer pursue a case when he discovered a basis for doing so in his reports and results. In this election many APC leaders were arrested and some stripped naked. Let's tread with caution ,as yet. Therefore, we can drift into other areas of politics ,or even life, but please allow the party and the candidate be the arrowhead in matters connected to the election. Anambra 2017: Awka Agog, PMB In Anambra For APC Rally - Emeka Ojukwu jnr Dumps APGA For APC. It was indeed the mother of all grand finales today at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Anambra state capital as APC and Dr Tony Nwoye’s national Campaign train for Anambra State Governorship election which comes up on 18th November 2017 hit Awka for their grand finale. The capital city of Anambra state, Awka was agog as APC Anambra state, those who believed in change mantra of APC and Dr Tony Nwoye’s supporters in Anambra state came out in their numbers for the historic event. They also came out to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari, the President Federal Republic Of Nigeria, who graced the event as it was speculated during the preparation that he would come. The grand finale, not only witnessed the presence of Mr President, it also witnessed the presence of 12 state serving State Governors of APC, 18 Ministers of the Federal Republic, 15 former Governors including Sullivan Chime of Enugu state, national Chairman of APC, all APC National working committee members and Principal officers. Meanwhile, the eldest son of late Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, known as Emeka Ojukwu jnr and APGA chieftain dumped APGA today and declared for APC. He was welcomed into his new party, APC by the national Chairman of APC and President Muhammad Buhari at Alex Ekwueme Square. In his remarks after being welcomed into the APC fold, he warned APGA, Gov Willie Obiano and whoever cares to know to stop using his father’s picture in their campaign to deceive the populace. He made it clear to them that APGA is a party formed to enrich few individual. He called them few fishes in a small pond. He asserts that his father on his return from exile joined NPN which was party at the center then, because he understands the need to be in the mainstream of Nigeria politics. However, from what Nigerians witnessed today at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, nobody in Anambra is left behind in the mission of Dr Tony Nwoye and APC to reconnect Anambra to the national grid. Dr Tony Nwoye and APC have conquered Anambra state political atmosphere and it’s now obvious that Anambra is APC and there is no more sentiment of party affiliation, Anambrarians now hunger for connecting to the national grid come 18th November Anambra State Governorship election. ©Sixtus Obadigbo http://www.naaija.com/2017/11/anambra2017-ojukwu-buhari-andy-others-drums-support-for-tony/ Lalasticlala, Mynd44, OAM4J

I was there in the Hotel to see the APC gubernatorial candidate who invited me over on phonecall and WhatsApp message, We were to discuss issues relating to the November 18 election. While I waited, seated at my extreme left were APGA stakeholders, I had thought they were on a separate mission perhaps for someone else who lodged in the place. But, to my surprise, When Dr Tony Nwoye's PA came down the stairs, They all stood and rushed to meet him, eavesdropping would be suspicious, so i relaxed on my seat. When I asked the PA on their mission, He simply said, they simply wanted to identify with the candidate before going for the party's campaign flagoff. Lalasticlala mynd44 OAM4J

SERAP HAS PUT ITS INTEGRITY AT STAKE LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD Following allegations by Prof Itsay Sagay and a subsequent letter to the Senate President by SERAP, the President of the Senate invited select organizations to lay the entire facts on the table and bury the issue so that frivolous allegations will stop flying in the class of credible persons and organizations. The meeting was without any media presence which by understanding of all parties was to allow discussions to be frank and open. Indeed the meeting was frank and sincere because the true picture of certain persons and organizations were exposed and seen. However, our attention has been drawn to a statement issued by SERAP about the happenings in the meeting and without much ado, we categorically state that the statement by SERAP is not a true representation of what transpired in the meeting. That statement was at best a disappointment and the integrity SERAP postures it possesses on the outside was put at stake and shattered. Mr. Timothy Adewale who identified himself as Deputy ‘Executive’ Director of SERAP and who spoke on behalf of the organization eulogized the person of the Senate President more than any other person in attendance. He praised the Senate President for the changes he has brought to the National Assembly including opening the books of NASS, Public hearing in budgeting, prompt action on the double emolument and other innovations of the Senate President. In fact he clearly stated that staff of SERAP all changed their views and celebrated the Senate President for the actions he took on the double emolument issue. On the particular issue of the salary of the lawmakers, Mr. Timothy stopped short of apologizing to the Senate President after admitting the obvious errors of SERAP when the question was put to him if SERAP made simple calculations of the figures reeled out by Prof Sagay. N29,000,000 (Twenty Nine Million Naira) monthly multiplied by 109 Senators will amount to N3, 161,000,000 (Three Billion One Hundred and Sixty One Million Naira) monthly and N37, 932,000,000 (Thirty Seven Billion Nine Hundred and Thirty Two Million Naira) per annum as salary for the Senate alone and this figure is higher than the entire budgetary allocation to the Senate for the year which is less than N32,000,000,000 (Thirty Two Billion Naira). During the meeting, it was Dr. Otive Igbuzor, CEO Centre LSD, who attended on the invitation of SERAP to actually lead the SERAP position that drew attention of the meeting that the budget of the National Assembly was about 3% of the total annual budget and that it needed to be brought lower to which the Senate President made commitment to more effectively and transparently utilize the allocation of the Senate and also push for better collaboration with Civil Society on how to achieve the goal. The Senate President therefore advocated for a monthly interaction between the Senate committee on NGO’s and Civil Society Organizations to make for proactive engagement on issues and also committed to a quarterly meeting with his office and Civil Society Organizations. Neither SERAP nor any other Organization questioned the Senate President on any issue which was not answered. In fact the meeting rose with the understanding that the issue of salary of lawmakers had been adequately addressed and laid to rest for good. It is unfortunate SERAP has gone into the forest to cut firewood and is now on the road shouting about whoever it was that cut the fire wood. On the issue of Constituency Projects, following allegations by Mr. Eze Onyekpere, the Executive Director Centre for Social Justice that stories from persons high up in the Executive confirm that lawmakers are indulging in fraud by taking monies meant for constituency projects without doing any works, the Senate President was clear that unlike in some foreign countries where money for constituency projects are given cash to the lawmaker, in Nigeria the Executive handles all the money and somebody in the Executive must collude with a lawmaker to commit the crime, hence if the Executive can hold its people and do the right thing, it was impossible for any lawmaker to divert money meant for constituency projects. He went further by asking for Civil Society collaboration to ensure that such ills are eradicated from the system. Has the Executive ever raised any alarm that any lawmaker collected or diverted money meant for constituency project? Also unfortunate is the fact that despite the undertaking of SERAP that they will in future while criticizing the National Assembly cease to ridicule the institution of the Parliament and bring the institution to disrepute, SERAP could not wait 24hours to expose its unholy agenda of their paymasters against the National Assembly in the statement they issued. SERAP by this singular act has shown that it indeed is not a credible organization. SERAP detests the institution of the Parliament and one wonders how an organization that preaches abolition of the Parliament can at the same time preach democracy. Again, the Senate President following the trend of discussions called on Civil Society to avail the Senate of information of any Acts of corruption and indeed encourage Nigerians to report such and at the same time pledged to ensure that all reports are investigated transparently while the check on this will be the monthly and quarterly meetings with CSO’s. For SERAP to allude to that fact that the public may not have trust and confidence to embrace such a move except Nigerians know the salaries of the lawmakers is only the view of a group that has an agenda against the anticorruption war. SERAP should first have tested the water before coming to such conclusion. Does SERAP know the salary of the EFCC Chairman and all staff of EFCC? Does SERAP know the salary of the Chairman of ICPC and all his staff? Does SERAP know the salary of the Inspector General of Police, Director General of State Security Service and indeed all other personnel of all the ant-corruption agencies? Do Nigerians know these salaries? How then could SERAP have come to the opinion that Nigerians will not trust the Senate because they don’t know their salary? Even after the meeting, some organizations had left and only later heard that SERAP representatives went back to the Office of the Senate President for a group photograph. Maybe the grouse here is that the Senate President did not offer any brown envelope to SERAP hence the need to push him further by issuing such warped statement to extort money which by the body language of the Senate President was not a consideration on the table. SERAP is clearly over rated and this act of blackmail against the person and office of the Senate President if it is their mode of operation will not be allowed to stand. Not in this meeting that we attended. The founder of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and top leaders of his group have gone into hiding following Friday’s declaration by the Nigerian Army that IPOB and other Pro-Biafran groups were terrorists organisations. Investigations revealed that Kanu and his top lieutenants had ‘disappeared’ from his country home in Afaraukwu near Umuahia and other places he frequently visited. His father, Eze Israel Kanu, is the traditional ruler of the town. Some IPOB members, who spoke on conditions of anonymity explained that Kanu and others were advised to go underground following the declaration by the Army and the decision of the South-East governors to proscribe activities of pro-Biafra agitators in the region. An IPOB member said, “We have to apply wisdom to whatever we are doing. We have realised that there is a grand conspiracy against Kanu and other top leaders of our group. “Just imagine barely few hours after the Nigerian military declared members of IPOB and other pro-Biafran groups as terrorists, our own governors came up with their own outright ban of our activities. “This definitely will give the soldiers and other security agencies the opportunity to arrest our leader and mount a deadly clampdown on all IPOB members. So, it is better to operate from a hideout for now.” I can’t disclose my brother’s location — Kanu’s brother When contacted on phone on Saturday, Kanu’s younger brother simply identified as Fine Boy, refused to tell anyone where his brother was, adding that only the IPOB leader could disclose his hiding place. He said, “Only my brother can tell Nigerians where he is, I can’t. I don’t know why the Army should call IPOB a terrorist organisation, it is out of their desperation to arrest Nnamdi and frustrate the Biafran struggle. We have petitioned the United Nations and the European Union. “The world knows that IPOB is a non-violent organisation, we don’t carry arms, we don’t kill, and we believe violence can never solve any problem. “Nnamdi will soon disclose his current location and IPOB will also react to the proscription of the group by the South-East governors’ forum.” Security agencies comb South-East for Kanu, others Investigations on Saturday also showed that security agencies were combing the South-East region in search of Kanu. Findings by one of our correspondents in Abuja showed that the security agencies had been directed to arrest Kanu and other leaders of his group. The directive to arrest the IPOB leaders was said to have been communicated to the leaders of the security agencies deployed in the region. The security agencies that were given the directive, according to investigations, include the military, the police and the Department of State Services. It was gathered that the government felt that it could be dangerous to leave Kanu a free man till the next adjourned date when his case would come up at an Abuja Federal High Court. His case is said to be coming up later in October. A top security sources said, “We are seriously looking for him. He has a lot of things to explain to the government concerning his statements, actions and activities. “We can’t sit by and allow the security situation in the country to be compromised to the extent that an individual will be challenging the Federal Government. “Government has to do something about an individual that is recruiting young people, giving them uniforms, arming them and referring to them as a secret service. “We have been seizing arms and ammunitions at the ports; we also need to know what they were meant for. “This is someone who unilaterally said there would be no election in Anambra State and some people want us to allow him continue with his activities? No, we need to grow above our ethnic and tribal sentiments.” |
CP Anthony Ogbizi, the new commissioner of Abia State Police has seriously warned that anybody found with the Biafra flag will be arrested. Mr Ogbizi further stated that anyone seen with the Biafra emblem will be arrested and charged to court. He made this statement while parading seven suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra. He said it has become illegal for anyone to operate under the IPOB which was declared a terrorist organization by the Nigerian military or adorn its emblems. The police commissioner also disclosed that one of the injured officers, an assistant superintendent of police has died from injuries sustained during the crisis between suspected IPOB members and security operatives in Ariaria police state, Aba.
