Yorubas: Cowardly beyond measure Wicked beyond measure Treacherous beyond measure Soul-less beyond measure The same man that released their cowardly leader Awolowo from prison in Calabar is the man they chose to ridicule and mock in his hour of sickness. What these guys can't understand (out of wickedness and darkness of soul) is that Yoruba had NO leader fit enough to carry Ojukwu's shoes. If you doubt me, show me ONE Yoruba leader that never stole from the public coffers or that never sold out. All of them are for sale for the right price. If it was them against Nigeria in 1966-70, their "Ojukwu" would have collected money and lie flat to Gowon. Awo did that till IBB showed up and wanted to throw his wrinkled @55 in jail. He cowardly committed suicide before he could return to jail. Pathetic group of people! Tufia! |
And this is the point I exit the thread until intelligent folks show up again. Signing off. Yours truly, Onlytruth ![]() |
Posted by: logica I am Ekiti but I was born in Lagos; yet I have no political aspirations in Lagos. If I want to jump into the pigsty we call politics in Nigeria, I will go back to my roots in Ekiti state to contest. Yet I am Yoruba. So exactly what is the point of this "Igbo Lagos Governor" campaign? If an Igbo governor can be better for Lagos, we would have seen the signs in the East already. I don't see it, but maybe someone smoking crack sees it.Have you not heard that current Lagos governor Raji Fashola is from Ekiti too? So if you won't aspire to become governor in Lagos, should you stop other Ekiti folks from wanting to. Please don't assume that everyone is as unambitious and cowardly. Your yardstick is suspect. |
Posted by: 2mch Oh shut up. Igbo's are very good with propaganda. There maybe 10 Igbo's in one place, but the way they will shout you will think there are 10,000. If you are so passionate about Lagos, why do you go back to your state during holidays? There is still a connection to the east not so? Why not develop your state? One cannot have loyalty to both places. Pick one and change ethnicity otherwise, this is just lala land. A Yoruba can never be Ggovernor of an Igbo state, they will even be killed for suggesting such. Likewise, Yoruba will never let it happen. This is Nigeria afterall.Tewmuch, You are one of the goats I ignore in nairaland because of your orang otan IQ levels, but I would respond this once to you. If a Yoruba does not become governor or any other thing in Igboland, it would be because he NEVER had the numbers to back him up. There is a general agreement that Igbo are the next largest population in Lagos after Yoruba. So, they would get their interest taken care of as part stakeholders in the progress of Lagos state. BTW Lagos was a federal capital territory, hence it attracted other Nigerian groups, Igbo included. Igbo did not go to Abeokuta or Ibadan or Ogbomosho. |
As for boycotting Igbo business in Lagos, you should be careful about that because it will backfire. Moreover, majority of those who make the difference as Igbo costumers are mainly from outside Lagos and SW. Infact a lot of their customers are from the East, North and OUTSIDE Nigeria (Africa). The type of money they control cannot be from locals. Understand that well. And even if they don't do business, Lagos state loses tax money and infrastructure development would grind to a halt. Talk of one shooting himself in the foot. |
Posted by: okunoba At the end of the day there is nothing wrong with an Igbo person ruling Lagos as long as he can do a good job and loves the state as he would love his home, but if the idea is to rule so we can be told how much smarter and that you are better than every other ethnic group in Nigeria then no one will want an Igbo as Governor of Lagos or even as President of Nigeria. At last someone with some sense. Personally, I don't think that Igbo in Lagos is out to "rule Yoruba" or any other group. They are simply there as Nigerians, and are exercising their constitutional right as Nigerians to aspire to political offices in their area of domicile. And if Nigeria continues to be one, they would do the same in ALL parts of Nigeria were they have the numbers. That is what One Nigeria is about. I lament the fact that some of your fathers fought against these same people you are scheming to oust from Lagos. When they wanted to go, your fathers refused and a WAR ensued which claimed the lives of 2 million innocent people. Now they are in Nigeria going about their legal affairs and folks are here fuming. I also believe that Nigeria has not moved an inch forward since 1970 (everybody knows this). I believe it is because the winners of the war kept Igbo from Nigerian presidency. You may not agree with me about that, but is it evident that NOTHING has worked since then. So I wonder who loses from that. |
Some of you keep mixing up the Abiola riot incident with real war. You expect Igboman to help you fight Abacha? After your years of treachery? You would know the difference when it becomes clear to us that you have declared war on our people and their assets in Lagos. |
^^ You are funny because you keep bringing up one incident where Fulani thieves raped local villagers and escaped. Armed robbers have been raping and killing Nigerians for decades and they are mainly based in lagos/West. The Fulani took over your land and converted about 40% of your population to Islam. Till date, your tribe is seriously mixed up with hausa/fulani from hundreds of years of f0rking your women. Your IQ is too low to even comprehend my points. |
I'm laughing at a lot of goats on this thread walahi. Most are foaming in the mouth without a simple logic, as if anyone is interested in their rants. While you are yapping, just bear one thing in mind: Igbo proverb say that "osisi nuru na aga egbu ya, we kwuru ofu ebe", - only a tree gets the news that it is about to be cut down and still stood in one location doing nothing. I'll warn you though not to mess with Nigerians going about their normal business in Lagos. They are (according to your fathers who fought the war against them) Nigerians, and are free to aspire to any office in their area of domicile. Just remember that you have never seen REAL war in Yorubaland before. You used intimidation to subdue whoever you could in the olden days, and call that war. IT AIN'T. Nobody intimidates Igbo man. Don't stir the hornets nest. Nuff said. |
I stopped buying First Bank shares after Sanusi stepped in and started his mago mago "ekwuonomics". When he became the CBN governor, I was one of those that lamented that the man was about to set us backwards. He was desperate to prove that Soludo was wrong, but all he ended up proving is that Soludo had been right. In fact he masked his true mission until he unveiled the Islamic banking. Difference between a genius and a pretender: Soludo: Wanted to re-denominate the Naira and re-engineer it into being the currency of reference in Africa, meaning making the Nigerian banks the pillars of Africa's finance. He figured that one of the ways to achieve that was to grow the Nigerian banks to be big enough to fund development. The man had dreams of how to make Nigeria great. Sanusi: A former risk manager at First bank wants to (according to him) safeguard depositors funds by constantly questioning the basis of a banks profit, hence unwittingly casting doubts on these banks and scaring away investors. And when he was done "cleaning" the banks, he launched the real thing -Islamic banking! To those who are still ascribing greatness to this malam in our chinashop CBN, I ask you: WHAT IS HIS VISION FOR THE NIGERIAN BANKS IN AFRICA? WHAT IS HIS VISION FOR THE NAIRA? If you can't answer these, then, you are a partly responsible for the systematic emasculation of the Nigerian economy, all in the name of Islam. |
She may be Chinese, Vietnanese or whatever, but she spoke better Igbo than Igbo people born outside Igboland. That babe grew up in Onitsha. Anyone familiar with Onitsha would know that there are almost EVERY Igbo group represented in that town, hence the Igbo dialect from it is unique and versatile. Listen to her carefully; you would hear bits and parts of different Igbo dialects in her Igbo. Pure Onitsha babe! hahaha! ![]() |
Another example To Conspire or Strategize -> Nkonuko ![]() |
In developing Igbo language, let us please minimize the use of double words in place of single ones in English. Example: Dictionary -> Okaasusu, instead of Oka asusu That way the language is improved and made easier for those who want to learn it. I believe that German and Dutch are like that. Great thread! ![]() |
Basic logic question for ileke-Idi: Which is the easier alphabet to remember; A or B? ileke-Idi answer: C na so we dey argue am for nairaland. I don talk am say we need IQ test here for nairaland. On a serious note, the owner of nairaland should embed an IQ test application to political section. Only those who pass a set threshold should be allowed to comment on issues. ![]() |
First, WELCOME BACK BEAF! ![]() Next, walahi Nigerians are killing me on this thread! So una nor want development again? Abeg site the tin for Aso rock sef! ![]() |
How can a country with the largest gas deposit in Africa even be talking about this? And by the Russians? You see why some of us have called for the dismantling of the Nigerian contraption. It does not make good decisions. |
So, of all juicy federal infrastructure in Nigeria usually sited in other zones, it is this Russian contraption with a REAL potential for mass murder that you are wishing on us? |
al harem, how many identities do you have here? Anyway I saw your father and he says hi.
|
^^ So why do you think the middle belt and east is the best location? |
And I'm saying this because I know that a nuclear accident anywhere in Nigeria would affect the whole country. It may even affect the entire West African subregion. I ask again, who is making this re-tarded decision? ![]() |
Posted by: alj harem ajaokuta problem started from the british and not russiansThey would not do the job in a way that would benefit Nigeria either in present or future. They are the most evil international operators. The old Soviet Union was better. This Russia is a red herring in technology and strategic help. They should build it near the Kremlin. ![]() |
In my book, Russia is the worst country on earth to trust with an infrastructure with a strategic potential. What happened to Ajaokuta steel ![]() |
Just when you think you've heard the worst possible news out of Nigeria, you get more! Are there any educated man or woman among the leadership of Nigeria? RUSSIA of all countries? If Russia builds it for free, I won't touch it with a long pole. Who made this retarded decision for heaven's sake? ![]() |
