na_so: na_so:Why do I feel like saving these statements for later appraisal after the dust settles? I really hope you are right about the north living without power for approaching 20 years (OBJ -8years, UMYA -2+years, GEJ-9 years). The way I see it, unless we are not talking about the northern Nigerians, I will not wave them off like that. The real test is whether GEJ can handle the real heat when it comes. I would not gloat. |
TewMuch:^^ Also tell this goat amingafar that he is not Hausa or even a northerner. If he is a northerner, then I am a Yoruba. ![]() Any goat can create a user account and claim to be from anywhere. |
TewMuch:Dude I just woke up from sleep. You sleep, don't you? Anyway, like I said, I'm not impressed. My heart goes out to Goodluck because I see him as a product of struggle. I put myself in his shoes to feel how far he has come. So, naturally I feel for him. But I'm looking for a leader, and I still don't know if he is that leader. As for the occassion, Obasanjo's absence speaks volumes. I don't buy that his "neutrality" bullcrap. Obasanjo is never neutral. ![]() |
Don't get me wrong. My emotional part goes with Jonathan, after all, that guy might have something special to offer me and my people. But, I have learned through the years never to make decisions based on emotions. Anyway, lets see how the coming weeks will shape up. We need ACTIONS not words. ![]() |
TewMuch:I still am not impressed. |
^ Dude I just woke up from sleep. It is Saturday morning in my part of the world. |
udezue:I say it with every emphasis, we will not leave any LAND or even a hut for anyone to inherit in ANY part of Nigeria, especially the north. |
Abagworo:Look, all I want to establish is that there is a CLAN called Anaedo consisting of four towns. I gave different scenarios in my previous posts about Nnewi north and south. In the Nnewi south, you have the Orsu and Isiama towns there. In the north, you have Nnewi and Ichi. What we have now is a situation whereby Anaedo is split into two LGAs -Nnewi North(Nnewi and Ichi) and Ekwusigo(Oraifite and Ozubulu) LGA. If you want to do things properly, you would not split clans up. ![]() I told you that we have a dialect linking these four towns of Nnewi, Ichi, Oraifite and part of Ozubulu. Nnewi town alone is Anaedo, but so is Ichi, Oraifite and parts of Ozubulu. So there is an Anaedo clan. Period. |
Akin-Egba:Which is why the rumour about Ojukwu visiting Jonathan is idiotic. Never happened. ![]() |
Metalgong.:Nwanne ndi a amaghi ihe ana ako! Ndi "ofe" choro iji aghugho meminaa ndi igbo na obodo anyi. Ha bianu ka anyi na ha kpo n'akpa! ![]() |
I forgot to mention NDLEA which was created by IBB. The truth is that I can't remember all his achievements. |
The IBB's record achievements was when oil was under $20 per barrel and he had limited number of expertize working with him as a military dictator. Now, imagine today with Nigeria awash with money -oil is above $80 per barrel, and you have civilians with limitless expertize. Imagine all the technocrats at his disposal today, and what he can do with them. Babangida has these attributes: courageous (he kept Bakassi and Africa respected us under him), intelligent (well, self explanatory), Charismatic (knows Nigeria in and out and has friends all over Nigeria, he can mobilize Nigerians easily), visionary (most of his inventions in office are still with us -FEPA, NAFDAC, SSS, Option A4, etc). With him in charge, we can tackle almost anything in Nigeria. We can tackle restructuring and true federalism. I don't see any other candidate that can do these. |
Fhemmmy:To refresh your memory, IBB achieved the following in office: The establishment of new Universities and Polytechnics. The movement of Federal Capital from Lagos to Abuja. The reorganization of the Nigeria Police into seven Zonal Operation Areas. The unemployment grant to States for agricultural programmes and vocational skills. Establishment of Mass Mobilization for Self-Reliance Social Justice and Economic Recovery (MAMSER). A 46-member Panel to review the 1979 Constitution. The creation of Akwa Ibom, Katsina, Abia, Anambra, Delta, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kogi, Osun, Yobe and Taraba States and over 136 new Local Government Areas with take off grants. Direct funding of Local Government Areas from the Federal Government to make them autonomous. National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA). National Orientation Agency (NOA) formerly known as the ‘‘Mass Mobilization for Self-Reliance Social Justice and National Directorate of Employment (NDE). Federal Environment Protection Agency (FEPA). Lagos Third Mainland Bridge. Federal Urban Mass Transit programme. The 1991 National Population Census (NPC). National Women Commission. The Directorate of Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructure (DIFRRI). Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). National Housing Fund. Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Aso Rock presidential villa National Assembly complex Option A4 Commission of the Onne Fertilizer Plant in Rivers State. The 260 million dollars Petrol Chemical Plant in Kaduna. Establishment of four (4) bodies in one day National Population Commission, National Revenue Mobilization Commission, Code of Conduct Bureau and Code of Conduct Tribunal. NNPC Escravos- Lagos Gas Pipeline at Egbin, National Electoral Commission (NEC). Elesa Eleme Refinery in River State. Children Trust Fund. Resumed diplomatic relations with Israel Central Bank Autonomy Decree, Others were: NAFDAC; Ecomog; Reduction of import duties on newsprint, etc. |
sbeezy8:For now, I'm with IBB. Abiola mob can't shout me down. |
udezue:We don't know that yet bro Udezue. How many Nigerians are on facebook? A day in politics is like a lifetime. |
sbeezy8:Dude calm down! I know you are a cowardly @$$ but try not to assume everyone is like you. ![]() So, who told you that Ndigbo will ever leave those properties again? Dude, what are you smoking these days? ![]() The day Aboki go hear nwi be the day he tries his usual nonsense again. This time, we will drive them to Niger republic and close the border. ![]() Ndigbo are a war hardened people. Aboki is still living in the past. We are waiting for them to try sheet. ![]() |
udezue: ![]() Bros, is Jega contesting? Jonathan azikiwe sef. . ![]() |
Abagworo:Nobody knows! Digbo is like Oduduwa. Some accounts even say he fell down from heaven. One thing I know is that if I speak CORE NNEWI/ANAEDO dialect, only someone from Nnewi, Ichi, Oraifite and Ozubulu will understand me. That is a fact. If you want to identify people, you do so properly. |
Abagworo:Like I told you before, YOU ARE WRONG. Anaedo is a subgroup (if not a whole different group altogether). You cannot come from your state and town to tell me about mine. If you notice I never argued about parts of Imo or Abia. I wonder why all these expertise on Nnewi. A native is telling you but you still arrogate yourself with expertise on my town and group. |
Obiagu1:Where are you from, frankly? If you don't know please why are you muddling the information? All you need to do is ask. If you have never heard of Anaedo, then, ask someone from there. ![]() Nnewis do not trace their lineage to Nri. We have an ancestor whose name is Digbo. Of course we acknowledge the Nri priesthood in certain ceremony like Ichi ozo. But that is it. We have a powerful unifying kingship system dating back to 14th century, and a local deity called Edo (a goddess). What I can tell you (this is no brainer) is that you cannot call Nnewi Nri. And yes, there is Anaedo. Ask anyone from Nnewi, Ichi, Orifite and part of Ozubulu. In Anambra state, Nnewi is among the most traditional. And it is centered around Edo. I'm still wondering the motive of this ignorance about Nnewi on this thread. Its giving me cause to pause. ![]() |
sbeezy8:Then get ready to be whipped back in line. As long as the north remains one and as long as Ndigbo maintain an accord with the north, you and yours can do shiot. I don't need to tell you that. |
sbeezy8:My friend sharap and sit down dia! Talk is cheap. What will you do when we have another northern president? Nonsense! |
amingafar:I don't know which tribe you are, but I AM SURE you are not Hausa or Fulani. You are too stoopid to notice that not all Nigerians here are fuuls. When you are ready to talk the truth, you will first remove your masquerade. Only then can anyone take your seriously. |
dayokanu:Keep trying to dodge the issues. I just won't bite it! In the north and west, neighbors woke up to hack down their neighbors for no reason other than that they were Igbo. Soldiers were busy killing Igbo soldiers, but that can be called a coup. How you do explain that your uncle in Ogbomoso killed his Igbo neighbor as part of a lynching mob? |
udezue:That's what I talking about Udezue! Thanks! I adopted that philosophy at a very young age and I am waxing stronger each day. It makes every sense. Take a look at Israel. If Israelis are not as militant as they are, do you think they will still be in Palestine? Of course not! I never understood why Israel would for instance kill 100 Palestinians for a single dead Israeli until I applied it to Hausa and Igbo issues. It then became as clear as day. So, the question is, do you want to survive or not? Period. |
dayokanu:First of all, you cannot morph everything together. The Biafran expeditionary forces did not hunt down innocent civilians. Secondly, the Igbos who were massacred in the north were killed by their neighbors and other civilians of the north. So don't try to muddle the waters. It is clear enough. |
amingafar:No, I asked you whether you believe in ONE Nigeria or not. If you do, how come you have a problem with people not being Muslim. Why do you ask Igbos to become Muslims in the north? Do we ask you to become Christians as a pass for safety in Igbo land? |
udezue:The innate inability to harm innocent people remains Igboman's weakest attribute. Virtually every other tribe in Nigeria can do that except the Igbo. Have you noticed that whenever a Hausaman is fighting with a non Hausa, if a second Hausaman is passing by, he joins the fight IMMEDIATELY on his brothers side without even asking any questions? If you want to understand the essence of this behavior more, go to the animals channel on cable TV and take a close look at how lions hunt. They can kill ANY animal in the jungle. I've seen them take down elephants, hippos, crocodiles, giant snakes, just name any animal. Watch how they do it. In that hunt, there are no males or females; every member of the lion pack joins the fray without asking questions. That is what make them the most powerful beasts in the jungle. Now, revert to Igbo. Good luck with convincing your friend (never mind a stranger ) to help you deal with a person (even if that person's tribe is the biggest anti Igbo tribe on earth ). That is the only reason why I don't do the "Igbo enwe eze" thing. I simply don't because I don't see how it helps us to survive in the jungle that is Nigeria. It may have helped us in the olden days when we were protected by the jungle, but it cannot work today. Simple. We need to act together, without asking questions. If a lion sits out a hunt, do you think the rest of the pack will allow him to eat the game? HELL NO! So, Ojukwu acted like a typical Igbo man at the time. "Oh these are innocent people, and they have nothing to do with the kiling of Igbos in the north". But, one would be like "duh" but Igbos being killed in the north are innocents! So, you may have to adopt my philosophy of "fight first, ask questions later". |
amingafar:When did that happen, and under what situation? What Igbos opposed is Sharia (like other non-northerners). You can marry 1000 wives if you have the libido, what's our business with that ?You can also marry 9 year olds provided they are not IGBO girls who should otherwise be in school. Duh! ![]() As for state of origin, if you allow FULL federalism and resource control, we will not oppose state of origin, because then we can stay in our states and thrive there. That is why I ask you whether you want one Nigeria or not. |
shakara4u:"In the country of the blind, one-eyed man is the king", so says the great Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Why did I start with this quote? In the history of Nigerian nationhood, we have never had what I would classify as a superlative leader. By this I mean transformative leaders like Mahatir Muhammed of Malaysia, Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore, Jerry Rawlings of Ghana, and maybe Nelson Mandela of South Africa. Since the failed January 1966 coup, all has not been the same in Nigeria. So, we have to make do with what ill fated history as burdened to us. Looking back through our history, one is compelled to compare all our previous leaders and match their records one by one. So far, IBB's record of achievements trumps the rest. If Abacha were still alive, maybe he would have achieved more, 'cos frankly, inspite of his dictatorship, Abacha was headed somewhere. Under him, we had security and Naira was very stable at $84/$. Therefore IBB is that one eyed man in this country of the blind. ![]() Now, having said that, does that mean we may never find a man with full 20-20 eyesight to lead Nigeria? NO. What it means is that those who are jostling to rule Nigeria must demonstrate with whatever opportunity they have, their leadership abilities. That is why someone like Jonathan is not really impressing me much, because he is there and have not really done anything transformative since he was acting, and then became the substantive president. We wouldn't be arguing this if we no longer have kidnappings, or we have 24 hrs electricity, or that all the thieves of public office are behind bars. . .you know, something powerfully new and refreshing. His government is too much like Obasanjo and yar adua combined. You need some earth shaking policy changes in Nigeria to move us forcefully forward |
amingafar:The sooner you decide whether you want Igbos in Nigeria or not the better for you. I would not waste my time telling you what an Igbo president will or not do. There has been at least three Nigerian presidents that are Christians and yet they were fine with you. When it comes to Igbo, you will start cooking up all the lies to give yourselves a heart attack. All these "Igbo own 73% of Abuja" bullcrap is hypocritical. So, here is my question: DO YOU WANT ONE NIGERIA OR NOT? ![]() Any answer is perfect with me, provided you are sincere with yourself about the consequences of your choice. ![]() |
~Bluetooth:Well, the man developed it and introduced it to us, didn't he? That Abiola's election was canceled cannot change that fact. We can still use the system today. In fact people are clamouring for it. Meanwhile what did Obasanjo invent in 8 years of democracy? WHOLESALE ELECTORAL GRAND THEFT. The worst elections in the world. So, you should be grateful for what IBB did to give us a chance to choose our leaders even though he was a military man. Abiola's enemies (some of whom are Yorubas) connived to cancel the elections. If you want the truth, be bold enough to look at all facts. |
