This statement from Senator Uche Chukwumerije seals my understand of PPA and Abia state politics.

Now, the option is there for Abia state citizens to make their choice. I don't really see any big deal about all of these. The only party that will survive the new inferno called "free and fair elections" scheduled for next year are the parties will real ideology, not the cash and carry ones.
Once the elite is toppled (because frankly they make up less than 20% of the Nigerian population undecided), parties like APGA will start to win elections.
Since Jonathan promised free and fair elections next year, APGA stands a chance in Abia more than other parties, because other parties are busy fighting over money. cool
While they are busy fighting and killing themselves over money, APGA will go to poor people and those in the rural areas with their manifesto.

Abia: Chukwumerije Dumps PPA

The crisis plaguing the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) in Abia State deepened as the only senator elected on its platform, Comrade Uche Chukwumerije, yesterday announced his resignation from the party.

His resignation is coming barely forty-eight hours after Governor of the state Theodore Orji quit PPA and headed for the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

Also, the National Publicity Secretary of PPA Chief Ben Onyechere has tendered his letter of resignation, citing irreconcilable differences within the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

Onyechere told THISDAY that he was quitting because it was unfair for the National Chairman of PPA Mr. Larry Esin to unilaterally issue a query to Orji, without discussing it with other members of the party.

Senator Chukwumerije who represents Abia North Senatorial District lamented that despite PPA being registered as a political party, the party is nothing but a family business. The sole shareholders, according to him, are mother of former Governor of the State and PPA Chairman of Board of Trustees, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu and her children while all the members of the party are employees.

The face-off between Kalu and his successor Orji snowballed on Tuesday, resulting in the resignation of the governor from the party. Similarly, Senator Chukwumerije was issued a query on grounds that he encouraged the Abia State governor to leave the party and was discouraging members from paying their dues.

In response, Chukwumerije faulted the use of public query instead of administrative method to resolve a common issue.

“But why the medium of a query? The medium is a perfectly appropriate systemic expression of the organization of PPA. It reflects the character of the proprietary family structure of PPA. Whatever its exterior postures, PPA is not a political party, but a public property. It is a family business in which the sole shareholders are Madam Eunice Uzor Kalu and her children. All the members of the party are employees,” he said.

He suggested that the Kalu family controls the political economy of Abia State through “control over key posts, control over a network of paybacks and tithes, and control over state business.”

Chukwumerije, who said he consulted with his constituency before resigning from PPA, assured that he would contest the 2011 senatorial election on a yet-to-be decided platform.

The face-off between Kalu and his political protégée, Orji, took a new twist when the NWC of the PPA last week read the riot act to the later.

He was ordered to pay salaries to civil servants in the state and allowances of his Deputy, Comrade Akomas. The governor was also ordered to deal with crime in the state and resolve differences with Kalu within one week.

Orji said he was not even given the opportunity to defend himself. He said that upon receiving a letter of summon from the party, he has asked for a two-week grace because he was indisposed. But, he was not given a chance, he said.

But before the expiration of the deadline, Orji joined APGA. Also, the Chief of Staff and Kalu's brother had resigned from his job.
Leader of APGA Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu is expected to receive Orji into the party tomorrow. Previously, Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State was reported to have given his support to the Abia chief executive.

The issue of cross-carpeting is rampant across the states particularly in cases were godsons try to fight back when their godfathers become overbearing.

Police, most corrupt –EFCC, EU reports

Written by Tunde Oyesina, Abuja Friday, 02 July 2010

A business survey on crime and corruption has identified the Nigeria Police as the highest corrupt public official hindering the smooth business operations in the country.

The report, which identified crime and corruption as key obstacles to doing business in Nigeria, also rated the media high in the fight against corruption.

The survey was jointly conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), with the support of European Union (EU) and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

In the report, entitled: NBS/EFCC Business Survey on Crime and Corruption and Awareness of EFCC in Nigeria, 2007, presented on Thursday in Abuja, business executives who were interviewed said crime and corruption constituted obstacles to doing business in Nigeria.

According to the survey, which was based on performance and integrity of such organisations, lowest ratings were attributed to environment agency, political parties and Nigerian Telecommunication Limited (NITEL).

Other institutions that were rated low by the survey were the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN); water board’ revenue officials and customs.

On the other hand, the business world was favourably disposed to the capacity of courts, non-governmental organisations, the media and, especially, the EFCC.

The Executive Secretary, EFCC, Emmanuel Akomaye, said crime and corruption were impediments to security and economic development and lack of a proper stance made it difficult for government to adequately plan for the fight against the menace.

Chukwumerije, Onyechere quit PPA

From AMOS DUNIA, Abuja
Friday, July 02, 2010

Senator Uche Chukwumerije representing Abia North Senatorial District yesterday in Abuja announced the withdrawal of his membership from the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA). The National Publicity Secretary of the PPA, Ben Onyechere also announced his resignation in a letter sent to the National Chairman, Mr. Larry Esin.

This was even as the national headquarters of the party expressed disappointment at the action of Senator Chukwumerije. Mr. Esin, told Daily Sun in an interview that the party had succeeded in sending a strong message that it had reinforced discipline within the party, stressing that he had no regret whatsoever over the letter he wrote to Governor Theodore Orji, Senator Chukwumerije and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Orji Kalu bordering on matters that affect the people of Abia State.

Esin further said contrary to the allegation by Senator Chukwumerije to the effect that he was dictated to by the chairman of Board of Trustees to issue him with a query, he did not issue any query but wrote the affected elected officers and the BoT chairman the same letter of invitation as a party, urging them to clear some grey areas.

According to Mr. Esin; “When the chairman of our Board of Trustees got his own letter, he was initially annoyed over it and called me to withdraw it and I said that I would rather resign than to withdraw the letters and he later accepted and appeared before the National Working Committee of the party.

“Senator Chukwumerije did the same and I don’t know why he is complaining now. Chukwumerije that we know is not a democrat. He believes only in his own point of view and does not believe in what is called superior argument.
The party cannot continue to have people that think they are too big to be talked to or bigger than the party.”

The PPA national chairman further said if he had wanted, he could have kept quiet over happenings in Abia State and only go to the governor every month to get patronage but he chose to respond to the cries of the people who were suffering from non-payment of salaries, decayed infrastructure and serious security crisis that was getting out of hand.

The PPA national chairman further said it was appalling for the same people, who benefitted from the struggle embarked upon by the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party to continue to make unfounded allegations of interference in the affairs of the party and the government of Abia State, adding that those allegations were put before Dr. Kalu who urged anyone with proof of his interference in the government of Governor Orji to come out and prove such.

“As a party, Dr. Orji Kalu does not interfere in our activities. He challenged the Abia governor to come out and tell the world if he (Dr. Kalu) had interest in any of the companies doing business with the state government and yet no one had said anything towards that except unfounded rumours.”

However, Senator Chukwumerije who is the only Senator on the platform of the PPA attributed his decision to quit the party to the recent travails that led to his being issued a query by the party’s national leadership.
Senator Chukwumerije explained that the detonator to his resignation from the PPA was the “proconsular issue of a query” and the reading of riot act to Abia State governor, which, he noted, was purportedly by PPA’s national chairman.

He noted that the choice of medium used and the query issued him was in itself a most eloquent comment on the quality of democratic spirit and level of interaction in a body that prides itself as a political party. According to Senator Chukwumerije; “It must be an interesting subject of study to students of Nigeria’s political parties that the long smouldering tension in the gilded cage described as PPA has escalated to the point of explosion.”

He further described the query by the national chairman of PPA as a perfect case of teleguide, adding that the decoy of including two others, the chairman of Board of Trustees of the party and himself, in the firing range of the volley of queries was to give an impression of even handed approach to party problems, saying, however, that the thin disguise was unhelpful.

The Abia State senator also noted that the query (to him) was, orchestrated by some unnamed owners of the PPA, who are re-positioning the party for the forthcoming elections, adding that the query was the first step calculated, to apportion blame and nail him for the real and imagined failures of PPA Abia State Government.
Senator Chukwumerije, who said he was leaving the PPA out of disillusionment, explained that his next political move would be subjected to the views of his constituents.

Crisis: PPA Publicity Secretary resigns

OWERRI— MISTER Ben Onyechere, National Publicity Secretary of Progressive Peoples Party, PPA, has resigned his position from the party. In a statement in Owerri, yesterday, the former party scribe said: ” In view of prevailing circumstances in the party where opinions no longer counts except that of the chairman, I regret to inform you that I can no longer cope and, therefore, tender my resignation.

“It is unbearable for me and disheartening that somebody just jumped in few months ago to destroy what we have laboured to build over the years, particularly, that I have been the image maker and mouth-piece of this party and, as such, have become vulnerable to attacks and other difficulties which I will not mention here.

“I joined PPA with lots of enthusiasm to build a veritable platform for the emancipation of the deprived but unfortunately, what I am seeing currently overwhelms such belief and, as such, I leave with a greater belief that God will fashion a way out for the future.”

Rumbles in PPA: As party loses Governor Orji to APGA

By Anayo Okoli

It was like it will never happen. That Governor Theodore Orji of  Abia State will never ever part ways with his party, the Progressive Peoples Alliance [PPA], and by extension his political mentor and the founder and BOT chairman of the party, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu. They were seen as being too close, having worked closely for long and shared a lot of confidence.

The young party won two states of Abia and Imo states at the 2007 elections. But sometime last year, the Imo State governor,  Chief Ikedi Ohakim left  the party and joined PDP, an action which pitched him against the BOT chairman, leading to long exchange of allegations and counter allegations. But the party has lost Imo state.  With lost of Imo, Abia basically remained the only state controlled by the party.

But the rumbles in the party have prompted Abia governor to quit the party, an action which may leave the party’s  faith hanging in the balance as funding will definitely be a herculean task. In fact his resignation has brought serious confusion in the party.

The relationship between the governor, his party and the party’s BOT chairman, Kalu had been very cordial till sometime last year when some political groups emerged within the party, clamouring for the governor’s second term bid. This did not go down well with the party and the BOT chairman. In fact, this led to the unceremonious removal of the former chairman of the party, Chief Kalu Eke Kalu and its replacement with the current chairman, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha.

The groups were seen then as trying to shore the governor’s popularity and giving leverage to be independent. The matter was however resolved and the relationship continued but on shaky ground. However, both parties had consistently denied that any rift exists, especially between the governor and his political mentor, Chief  Kalu.

But the public started noticing some clear rift following some level of mistrust between the governor and his deputy, Comrade Chris Akomas believed to be very close to the BOT chairman. First was when the deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya, a kinsman of the governor who works with the deputy governor, was said to have reduced the security personnel attached to the deputy governor, an action said to be beyond his power. Reason was that it was speculated that Akomas was nursing the ambition to contest the 2011. This was said to have been resolved but it was never as sweet as before.

However, Akomas in an interview never said he was running or not. He said that the structure that brought them to power, that is the PPA would say who would contest. This interview generated a lot of tension among the governor’s supporters and aides who  interpreted it to mean that the deputy governor was preparing to contest perhaps against his boss.

And the current crisis between the governor and the party and the BOT chairman is basically traceable to the 2011 race. While the governor had been denying ever having any problem with the former governor, it was glaringly clear that he was not in control. For example, of the 16 council chairmen that were elected in  January 2008, the governor did not have any of them as his candidate.

And it was alleged that these council chairmen accumulated a debt profile of about N2 billion being arrears of salary owed council workers, which the government had cleared, leaving an outstanding of about N400 million. There  were other allegations of interference in the day to day running of the government. However, Kalu, the former governor had consistently denied any interference, saying that since he left office in 2007 he had never stepped into the Government House, Umuahia.

But the last straw that broke the camel’s back was last two week’s query issued to the governor which was quickly followed by an ultimatum to the governor to clear workers’ salary, release allocations to deputy governor, and fight the  insecurity in the state, among others. He was summoned by the National Working Committee [ NWC] of the party to appear before it. Orji did not however go because of ill-health and he asked that another opportunity be given him.

But the strange thing about the summon to the governor was that it was shrouded in secrecy. Sources close to the governor said that when he visited Abuja  the National Chairman of the party, Larry Esin, paid him a visit, but never mentioned this query to the governor. But  30 minutes after he left the governor, he was said to have  sent him a text messaget asking if he had received a letter from the party letter to which the governor replied in the negative, not knowing that they had kept the parcel at the gate. The governor was said to have sent for the parcel but did not open it immediately.

Later that evening the governor visited the BOT chairman in his Abuja residence. The BOT chairman was said to have charged at the governor raging that a petition had been written against him and submitted to the party. He was said to have lashed at the governor telling him  that it was his actions in the state that caused it. The governor was said to have informed the BOT chairman that he had an envelope in his house, saying perhaps it could be the same thing. When he got back, he opened the envelope and discovered that it contain grevious allegations, 10 in all.

He was said to have called the BOT chairman and informed him that he had a more serious allegations. As they were talking he asked the governor to drop the phone that he would call him later. But till date he never return the call. This perhaps convinced the governor that there was complicity between the party chairman and the BOT chairman and he knew that the battle line has been drawn.

On return from Abuja and after analyzing the happenings, the governor and his supporters came to the inevitable conclusion that PPA was no longer a conducive home for them. He quickly dissolved the cabinet which was believed to have been populated by the candidates of the former governor and his mother. He also dissolved all the market unions. Followed quickly were rallies by his supporters who urged him to leave the PPA and joined another party.

In response to the pressure Orji resigned from PPA and officially declared for All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] and will be formally welcomed to the party  today when Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Chief Victor Umeh, the National chairman of the party and Governor Peter Obi, as well as top officers of the party will storm Umuahia.

However, the governor’s exit from the party may have divided the party as the National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ben Onyechere who even announced the summon and charges against the governor has made a bolt face, and criticized the action of the party, saying that it was a decision of only the national chairman.

In a statement in Owerri, Onyechere said: “In the first place if you read the summons addressed to the governor, it was an entirely personal letter from the chairman to the governor which he had sent out before consulting the members of NWC.

“We are not in support of his attitude and that is not the concept on which PPA was built. It is a bad way of managing crisis in a terrain surrounded by political opponents. I can assure you that nobody for now knows the chairman’s mission in attacking the respected party chieftains.

The Abia governor is somebody that deserves everybody’s respect and support particularly with what he is going through in a state stifled by the PDP controlled federal government”.

How far the unfolding events will go is what days and weeks ahead will tell. Bit for now tension is building in the state for the imminent clash of the governor and his now estranged political mentor.

Nigeria is too big to be one nation in a third world environment and that principle goes right down to the security.  Each segment of Nigeria has a different attitude to life. What is the concern of a katsina born local D.P.O posted to a village in Abia about crime rate in Abia? Absolutely nothing! Those doing this robbery and kidnapping are not ghost, they are some ones brother, father, uncle and cousins, so when you have local police, it become easy to report crime or tackle the person directly by those that are related to him, than when the police is a foreigner and you report to him and he will go behind your back and tell the criminal and watch as you both kill each other, and tomorrow he will move on to another part of Nigeria.
All the bolded above capture the gist of my point. So before all these "Biafra-makes-me-lose-my-senses" fear mongers post anything here, they should read this first.

And by the way, one of the leading candidates for next year's presidential elections is already calling for state police. Revealed: Control of Abia LGs tears Gov Orji, Kalu apart

Written by Biola Azeez, Umuahia Thursday, 01 July 2010

The real reasons that made the only remaining governor of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State, to fall apart with the chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), who is also the immediate past governor of the state, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, have been revealed.

A competent source in Government House, Umuahia, told the Nigerian Tribune that Chief Kalu, who is also the founder of the party, was not happy with the stand of the governor not to constitute local government caretaker committees after the expiration of the tenure of the elected council chairmen in the 17 local government councils of the state few months ago.

The source, who said the former governor and his political group, called Reality Organisation, had been in firm control of the local government administration and finances, including the appointment of council heads since the inception of the present administration in the state, added that Governor Orji had never had any influence in the appointment and control in the council administration.

He recalled that the former governor and his political group could not intervene in the indebtedness as related to workers’ salary in the councils by the immediate past chairmen, which he said ran into about N4.9 billion until Governor Orji reduced the debt to about N400 million at present.

The source also said that part of the grouse was the appointment of commissioners and other aides of Governor Orji, which he said was allegedly done majorly by the former governor and key stakeholders of the Reality Organ-isation, stressing that most of the governor’s aides were only introduced to governor for him to appoint.

He said that the PPA leadership decided to show Governor Orji the way out of the party when they saw that he was no longer ready to be dictated to unduly.

The source, who said the government had paid N1.2 billion, which he said was what the state government paid for teachers salary every month, added that the government was not owing teachers in the state.

Gov Orji joins APGA

Jun 30, 2010

By Anayo Okoli

Umuahia— Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State has joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

This comes as the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, in Abia State has hailed his resignation from the Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Print Media, Mr. Joshua Ogbonna, who made the announcement in Umuahia while briefing newsmen on the political future of the Governor yesterday, said Orji had lost confidence in the PPA which brought him to power.

“I have the mandate of Governor Theodore Orji to inform you that he has joined APGA because the party has shown that it is disciplined and focused than the rest of the parties in the country,” he said.

Ogbonna added that APGA was more progressive, hence Orji’s decision to join the party.

He said that Orji decided to leave PPA due to the activities of its National Chairman, Larry Esin, who, he said, had shown that he was not conversant with the happenings in the state and had summoned the governor to explain an issue that the party was “not even sure of.”

Ogbonna said chieftains of APGA, including Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State and the two factional chairmen of the party at the national level would be in the state on Friday to formally welcome the governor to the party.

Mr Emeka Nwachukwu, APGA state Chairman, said that the party was a better political platform for the governor to realise his ambition of moving the state forward.

“The Governor’s ideologies fall within the ambits of what APGA represents,” he added.

Nwachukwu said in an interview that the governor, by his action of dumping the crisis-ridden PPA, had made himself a political bride who was sought after by political parties.

This discussion is not about fraud, prostitution and other vices but its specifically about violent crime of armed robbery and kidnapping, as I have said before I tried to draw a line between what a happened after the war when Biafra soldier left with their weapons and what happen after the militant were disbanded as regards to explosion in kidnapping rate in the East today.
Then you jumped in and told me that my argument is flawed, by telling me that Nigeria army conscripted civilian, which based on my first hand experience is not true and I told you that if ever that happened, those they conscripted will likely remain in the army or their weapons will be accounted for as they fought for an organised nation’s army, unlike the Biafra’s where 99% of their army are civilians that went back to their former lives after the war. That is not condescending, it is stating the fact based on firsthand experience, but if you see that way, you are entitled to it.
If you are telling me that there is no connection between the disbandment of militancy in the Niger Delta and the sudden explosion of kidnapping in Igbo land, then tell me what is behind it, as this crime is unknown in Igbo land even a year ago.
Normally, facts like these should be obvious to everyone, but some Nigerians are ever afraid of the name Biafra, and are willing to even fight the air rather than face any truth that in any way mentions Biafra.
Just allow the guy to believe whatever he wants.

My concern is what we should be doing to stop this. Are we doing those things?

Or are we letting our enemies define us?

I would say this again, GIVE US LOCAL POLICE.

Nigerian police is part of the problem.

I used to think so, but now, I dont think it should be encouraged.

But it shouldnt be prevented. Whatever floats your boat, I say.

Inter-tribal marriage should be discouragingly encouraged.

Normally this shouldn't be a problem (happens easily in other countries). With Nigeria's history, I would thread softly.

You claim Chris Uba kidnapped Ngige, please tell us how this compares to the relationship between Orji Kalu and TA's relationship?
Well, Orji Uzor Kalu wants to remove Gov T.A Orji and replace him with his (Uzor Kalu's) younger brother as the PPA governor next year. He wants to do that using the party machinery which he practically owns.
How else would a normal human being react? Only a tree hears that it is about being removed and still stays put.  A human being takes counter measures. My prayer is that Abia state transforms for the better because of this. Anambra did.

Is it clear enough now?  undecided

Are you sure we have seen it before, or out of desperation, you are trying to make it seem that way? May I suggest you go back and check your records again. Comparing Ngige to Orji is like comparing  . . . in fact, no. Just tell us how you arrived at that sef.
So you do not recall how Chris Uba used to rule Anambra state? It was Emeka Offor before him using Gov Mbadinuju for 4 years. Ngige was single handedly made the governor by Chris Uba (using Obasanjos federal police and electoral officials). Ngige swore at the Okija shrine to abide by the ignoble agreement of opening Anambra state coffers to Chris Uba such that Anambra was basically grounded - no worker paid, teachers strikes, insecurity, Onitsha became a huge refuse bin, no road constructed, virtually nothing done. Until one day when Chris Uba kidnapped Ngige and wanted to depose him, replacing him with his deputy. Ngige survived through the grace of God and Atiku (then VP).
That was the day of liberation in Anambra state. Nothing has ever being the same.

Orji Kalu wanted to do the same thing to T.A Orji, and the latter is fighting for his political life.

If he survives, no one can be sure of how he would perform. I am not part of the leadership of APGA (will join them soon though). They must know something I don't know to allow Orji come in (if he goes there).
PoliticsRe: Is Goodluck Jonathan A Megalomaniac: Bans Super Eagles For 2 Years! by Onlytruth(m): 6:37pm On Jun 30, 2010
Jonathan must go one step further to ensure that never again would thieves seize our football.
He must ensure that all the current NFF officials are thoroughly investigated by the EFCC.
Anyone found wanting must be jailed. If we jail Sanni Lulu and his gang of thieves, no thief would ever come near NFF again.
This move should ensure that we don't need this ever again.

I have said it before and I will say it again; Igbos are the architect of their woes - no single voice grin grin grin grin

The lost generation of Isreal
Every Igbo reading the bolded must from henceforth understand that that is the rallying war cry of our enemies.

There is this friend of mine from Abia state - a man who has done well for himself in life-  who tow this line anytime we engage in argument over Igbo affairs. The guy says that almost everywhere and I often marveled at how someone can be so dumb. In fact he is my final proof that being rich and being intelligent don't always run in the same direction.

The same guy will come to me to complain about how 15 of his containers were detained unnecessarily by a Yoruba or Hausa customs officer even while turning a blind eye to similar containers from other Nigerians. He would complain seriously about abuse and deprivation he suffers in the hands of other Nigerians.

Each time he complains, I look at him as if something is wrong with his brain.

How can you sow the wind and become baffled when you start ripping whirlwind?

There is power in spoken word and he lives his word.

The Igbo is the heart beat of Nigeria -FACT.

Remove Igbos from Nigeria, the place turns into a desert.  cool

Since when did multiparty democracy become this? Since when did it become the case that a thief and inept leader can be cleansed of his ills by simply jumping over to a party with an ideology seen as better than even that which he subscribes to as a person? Na wa ooo!!

So, you admit it is virtually impossible but you still fee this thief will be cleansed by his bearing the banner of a new party? ** scratching head on this one***pull back please . . .  so, the way Abia can benefit is for the Abian thief to jump to the APGA party? Somehow that is supposed to save Abia state?
Look, I have already explained this several times. I really doubt that APGA would touch T.A Orji unless there is something positive from him. I doubt that a thief would enhance APGA image in the south east. So, if Orji ends up in APGA, I have to assume he is willing to transform.
We have seen it before in Anambra state where a governor who went to swear at the Okija shrine and was working with a known thief to pillage our coffers, woke up one day to say enough.
T.A Orji mirrors Ngige in almost every way. If you told anyone in Anambra state in 2003 that Ngige would become one the BEST (if not the very best) governor in Anambra state history, no one would have believed you. They'd laugh in your face in 2003.
We now know better, and the rest is history.

Again, the question of if the man is good or bad does not come up at all. So why are you going on about him being good and all? He is not Gani or Soyinka . . .he is a politician and like most every politician out there, he plays it safe. Did you ever read anywhere of the Fashola administration publicly criticizing or bringing down the yar adua administration? I bet that never happened because the man knows he is a politician first.
Let me help you explain this to onye_ngbu.

Chief Vincent Ogbulafor (the ex-PDP Chairman) said exactly the same thing (like a Gani or Soyinka), where is he today? I know you'd say that Ogbulafor was corrupt, but the question is did he speak the truth on this? Which politician is not corrupt anyway? There is at least one bone in EVERY politician's cupboard (my own quote cool).

So what has being a good or bad man got to do with this? Did he say the truth or not? That is the question, and I'll guess the answer is YES.

However, my take is that Nigerians (particularly northerners) killed the spirit of agreements in 1966.
So, Jonathan is free to do whatever he deems fit with Nigeria.

Wetin concern Mr President with Super Eagles?

We told him to let EFCC loose on the corrupt mafia in NFF. . . . . nobody asked him to ban the team from all competitions. . . . this one na sign of megalomania o!
Look at it this way, any form of government interference in soccer is strictly prohibited by FIFA and usually attracts FIFA ban up to 2 years.
So Jona is only preempting FIFA ban. grin grin

There is no other way of cleansing and reorganizing the NFF without this outcome.

Good move. cool
PoliticsRe: Abia State Governor (T.A Orji) Finally Joins A P G A by Onlytruth(op): 5:31pm On Jun 30, 2010
My support for Orji to move to APGA is predicated on the assumption that he would be transformed into a real prudent and performing governor, not a puppet of the Kalu family, or a PDP mole in Igboland. APGA openly canvass Igbo interest, and stealing Abia state blind is NOT in Igbo interest.

So now the Party makes the Man? WOW!!!
In essense, yes the party makes the man! cool
That is what multiparty democracy is about isn't it? huh
How can a thief bear the banner of an honest and prudent party? huh
It is virtually impossible especially when you have characters like the great Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu as the party leader. The example APGA has shown in Anambra state is a good one. The governor may not be a trailblazer but he is one of the most prudent governors in Nigeria. No doubt about that. Abia state can benefit from APGA manifesto because frankly APGA has a manifesto -an ideological one too.
If Orji is irredeemable, he will not stay in APGA. He may not even make it to APGA because I doubt they would bend the rules for him.
