kegikwanu:I think you hit the nail on the head. I really think that the day we Igbos decide to do something like this, the FG has no choice about it. It is in their interest to support something like that or they will have a MASSOB doing something far worse! The fear that accompany a loss of war doesn't last for ever. Soon our people will start asking some hard questions and seeking real remedies for the genocide levied on our people in the name of Nigerian unity. |
THE-AMAKA:Great idea for starters. |
okunoba:People like ndu_chucks think they can mock their way forward in Nigeria and somehow the Igbos will forget Biafra and what they've been through. You can't support people like this slowpoke and still claim to want the Biafran war dead rest in peace. Talk of pure duplicity. |
Give us Biafra first. The rest will take care of themselves. |
morpheus24:It is a known fact (at least by educated people), that the mafia was (is) a happy marriage between the Jews and Italians (Sicilians). The Jews bring the wits (pure intelligence), the Sicilians bring the guts (pure taste for blood). The Igbo share about 99% socio-cultural similarity with the Jews (if you really study it, not just be driven by emotions). That similarity comes with consequences, eg. the Igbos and Jews hardly agree among themselves. There is a saying that for every two Jews, there are three Synagogues, and for every Jew, there are two Synagogues. There are many many other similarities. I personally think that the Jews are Igbos, not the other way round. |
@food4tot Calm down, nobody is colonizing you yet ![]() On a serious note, the new paradigm in global economics de-emphasizes factories and industries, and emphasizes intellectual properties and high skills. You should go and read up on Saskia Sassen, Manuel Castells and Peter Taylor opinions on the "global city" concept. Basically, all they are saying is that the 21st century will operate more on the theory of "space of flows": Nigeria for instance can develop a particular city and equip it with the best of infrastructure. That city will then attract the best service industries: head-quarters of multinational corporations, top research institutes, top financial institutions and other services from all over the world. Those businesses would then manage factories and industries located elsewhere (they can be in any country provided there is comparative advantage in producing from such country). All nations of the world can do this, so I don't understand how it can be termed neo-colonialism. If your leaders understand the stakes of today's global economics, they would quickly fix electricity and other basic infrastructures, and build cute cities which can attract top skills and services from all over the world, and thus prevent Nigeria being the factory or "sweat shop". The problem is that Nigerian leaders have no clue! |
You cannot really know where you are going until you have properly come to terms with your past. Simple logic. It is time we mourn our dead. |
A white friend of mine offered a possible explanation to the unusual high rate of kidnappings and other ills befalling Ndiigbo in Nigeria today. He basically said that Ndiigbo and other Biafrans quickly forgot to honor their dead heroes. He said that Biafra might be the only case in human history where people fought a war and lost huge numbers of people (especially innocent people), and their kith and kin simply carried on as if nothing happened. Soldiers who died fighting in foreign wars are often still honored in their home countries, even if their bodies were never recovered. A complete funeral is conducted. Biafran war dead deserve such honor and must recieve it for Igboland and Nigeria to even be stable talk less of moving forward. A white man told me this! I think it is time Ndiigbo properly honor our fallen heroes and heroines. These were men and women who died fighting for us, fighting to protect us against agents of genocide. We need to pick out a particular week once every year to mourn and eulogize them. In such week of Biafran mourning, all Igbo businesses should close and Biafran flags hoisted on all streets of old eastern region, our radio stations should also play musics and tunes commemorating them. Christian and other religious services should also be conducted on the 7th day (Sunday). Also they must be eulogized with things they stood for (Biafra anthem, songs and memorabilia). This should help to rest the souls of our dead heroes.

ndu_chucks:Wetin you de yarn na? Eziachi was right. Dis ewu ugwu! You want start your divide and rule. dis one na crude one. ok come up with another Igbo proverb with direct relevance to the topic. |
Anyway, the devil quotes the bible too ![]() |
ndu_chucks: ![]() dis guy sef! who de teach you all these classical Igbo wey you de yarn sef! Who taught you classical Igbo? Ewu ugwu! ![]() |
SEFAGO:Ol' boy speak for yourself. I'm certainly not jobless like you. Don't worry though, you'll have a job soon -picking up the pieces of your contraption! ![]() |
^^^^ And here comes the defenders of the cesspit! ![]() |
You can't even get a reliable data on Nigeria. I say tier down the cesspit! |
“This Nigeria is built on defective foundation, with defective blocks. Whilst we still have the time, let us not be dumb and timid enough, not to pull it down, build a new foundation and raise it with appropriate blocks to avoid the damnation of the coming generations,” Akinrinade said. Acknowledging the shortcomings of a cesspit. ![]() |
Gen. Alani Akinrinade, has declared that Nigeria is built on a defective foundation and challenged all patriotic minds to summon enough courage to pull it down, with the determination to build a new one. http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=160246 The truth is finally out and gathering momentum! |
Then I stand corrected on that point. Thanks! ![]() |
@Katsumoto, You still didn't answer my question, I'm still waiting and I don't want this thread derailed until you answer my question. In fact I dare you to. Don't forget to give reasons why you support or oppose the poster. Thanks. |
tpia.:Now, that's a first consensus. About the genocide, oh it is bound to happen. Just wait for another moslem bullshit anywhere in the world and then wait for the news from Nigeria. We cannot change inate tendencies of people. We can only protect ourselves against them. |
tpia.:If I understand the guy well, he says that Igbos should drop the agitation for a separate country, but should instead embrace Nigeria viciously like others do. He argues we should simply prepare to fight anyone who plans genocide against us in the future. I believe he has some strong points. If we can't leave, then we should then STAY. |
Katsumoto:@ Katsumoto What do you think about the posted topic anyway? Do you support this guy or do you oppose him? ![]() Time to tell us where you stand! |
There is a Yoruba activist on NL called SEFAGO. You would do well to read his rants first before exonerating your people. I have never seen an Igbo advocate killing of Yorubas for wanting to leave Nigeria. Which is why I'm responding to this thread because the guy thinks Igbos should just stay in Nigeria and fight whoever attacks their assets or try to secede. |
Katsumoto:Dude, history teaches me otherwise. We remember one Awolowo who claimed that the Yorubas would simply leave too if Igbos left. Guess what, they didn't. Instead, they led the campaign to wipe Igbos out. Igbos have learned from that experience and believe you me ,it will never happen again. |
tpia.:Anyway the evidence is there for all to see, even here on NL, some Yorubas are even threatening a repeat of the genocide if igbos try to secede again. The ones who support Igbo secession are not willing to fight for it, but the ones who oppose it are. So, if you were me, you would understand why I'm only interested in the ones who oppose secession. They were the ones who starved 2 million of my people to death. |
I would have asked the moderator to put up a poll here so we can find out how many Yorubas would support Igbo leaving Nigeria, but the problem with that is that Yorubas cannot be counted upon to say their minds for real. They would vote yes here and join the Hausa tomorrow to fight Igbos' quest to leave Nigeria. So that is our problem with those claiming that times have changed. |
MASSOB has even advanced to the stage of forming a government in exile, why not stop hounding their members then, if times have changed. How I wish times have truly changed! |
tpia.:So who ordered the shooting of MASSOB members in 2005, 2006, and 2007? I will tell you -Olusegun Obasanjo. MASSOB is non-violent, so why were they shot dead if times have changed? ![]() |
How I wish Igbos will be allowed to just pack up and leave Nigeria, all these talk of protecting Igbo lives would not come up. |
~Bluetooth: ![]() ~Bluetooth:I know about 3 Yorubas (Awolowo, Obasanjo and Adekunle) who waged a scorched earth campaign against Igbos leaving Nigeria. Even here on NL, overwhelming majority of Yorubas are opposed to Igbo leaving Nigeria. So, here we go again with the denials. You can't even acknowledge something so glaring and self evident. |
@Katsumoto This your post: The easiest thing that people like this can do, is to stay in the east. Afterall, their enemies do not abound in great numbers in the east like they abound in the north and in the west. Chosen04 and her kind continue to complain about their enemies; why not live your enemies land if you do not feel welcome? Why do you persist in setting up home in Kano, Kaduna, etc when you don't feel welcomed? You would think that after the regrettable events of the 1960s, Igbo people would not settle in the north. Yet, some do, and I think Nigeria needs that but some of this Biafrans (notice I didn't say Igbo) continue to reside in the North and the west and then become part-time cyber-warriors, clamouring for their own country. You see my friend that is the problem! To you, the only option left for the Igbo is to confine themselves in the east so as not to get attacked. This is a wicked heart of the worst kind. Instead of you peope -who are advocating one Nigeria- to condemn the evils of genocide by host communities, you want the Igbo to simply return to the east and stay there. FUNNY NIGERIANS! I think this poster actually has some points. He thinks that some Nigerians want the Igbo to stay according to the oppressors' whims and caprices. Well, Katsumoto my friend, it will not work like that. You either accept Igbo as full and free Nigerians (living freely in all parts of Nigeria and protecting themselves there) or let them leave peacefully and form Biafra or any other country they choose. The last time we tried, 2 million of our people were starved to death. That is a historical fact. So, for you to make statements alluding that no one is stopping Igbos from leaving is the same twisted, sick and sadistic mindset dictating the terms of Igbo citizenship in Nigeria. I still will prefer that we leave Nigeria peacefully, else, maybe this OP has some points. The OP is not even a Biafran from his line of thinking. He is more interested in playing the Nigerian game safely. Like I said he definitely has some solid points. |
