yommyuk:The day your "aare" died in jail was the day I stopped respecting your Juju. AK-47 and multipurpose machine gun (MPMG) kept your AWO in jail (Ogboni or no Ogboni) until Ojukwu allowed him to leave Calabar jail. So keep hoping on Juju. If Igbos are scared of your juju there would not be a single Igbo left in Lagos. We dey for your domot! Any day you do fim, you go know say even some of those Alaba Igbo boys na babalawo! |
I don't like this movie already, even one bit! You have a nation that fought a war about 40 years ago, and the issues which triggered the war are still unresolved and hushed up. Someone is here talking about an "Ubreakable nation". Some idiocy. I hope they include the recent MEND activities and the MASSOB. Nigeria is not America (which settled her own civil war issues properly). Nigeria simply swept hers under the carpet with a threat to kill whoever opens the carpet. I bet you the story will still be the same bullshit about why Nigeria must stay one even if tens of thousands die yearly. The lie continues!~ |
yommyuk:Retard! How can a people who avoid war by all means fight anyone ! All the provocation against Yorubaland from Usman dan fodio (who colonized Kwara -Yorubaland till date) to all Nigerian leaders from the north -Tafawa Balewa (who flung your patron Awo's ass in jail and threw away the keys) to Abacha who killed countless Yoruba leaders (other Yorubas ran away) and your Aare Ona Kakanfo (Abiola who was kept in jail till his death) and your weeping "General" -Diya. The same people who only fight and kill themselves (out of cowardice), are the people you expect to fight Igbo people! Your saviors in Nigeria are the Hausa/Fulani. If Nigeria is left to Igbo and Yoruba to duke it out, Igbo would enslave you. Deep down your heart you know that is true. MEND almost exposed your ass before Federal government came to your rescue! Always be greatful to the Hausa for your safety in Nigeria. Though soon even Hausa can't scare the minorities, not to talk of Igbos. The world is changing fast. You are right that the war won't last two weeks because we have about 5 million Igbos in Lagos (and these are ready to fight to defend their properties!). All we need do is arm them! As you can see we already dey for your "oko". The "African things"you brag about and rely on also understand Igbo language, so don't brag as if Igbos are from space. Ewu ofe mmanu! |
@ROSSIKE Much I as might agree with your point about Nigerians fleeing the country in droves, I disagree with the "blame the victim" undertone of the topic. If there is any Nigerian to direct your "get off your ass" reprimand, it is the judges at the law courts who should be putting more politicians like Bode George behind bars without caring whose ox is gored. We still have laws and lawcourts. If all the judges get off their butts, you'd be shocked by the level of transformation that can happen in Nigeria. Bros for real, I'm tired. Do you know I spoke to a couple of Chinese boys today, and they're planning to set up a small solar panel factory in one remote place like this near Lagos. These guys I doubt if they have up to $2000 between them. They learnt how to build the panels on the INTERNET. Yet if you see where they were discussing this thing in their language as if they invented the technology themselves, mapping out their plans etc.The logic of this statement is seriously flawed. With all due respect we are not Chinese and the two countries are like apples and oranges. At least on paper, Nigeria is a mulitparty democracy. Don't try to turn us into mules! BTW I hope someone is keeping a close eye on those Chinese "Solar panel makers". Materials from solar panels are highly dangerous carcinogens (they cause cancer a lot!) and with our low level of environmental control, the Chinese are about to do in Nigeria what they cannot do in China or any other sane country. I am not impressed or amused at all! |
In Nigeria, everything goes under the carpet! How twisted can a people be? These same people would still wonder why Nigerian blood counts for nothing, why people are stealing the nation blind and why everyone tasting the presidential seat wants to die there. In a nation where everything goes under the carpet, anything (evil) is possible. |
@Duduknight and texazzpete Have you ever wondered why Germany found it necessary to erect monuments to commemorate the victims of the holocaust? Mind you, they didn't have to do anything! The war happened a loooooooooooooooog time ago, right? Especially in light of the fact that the state of Israel has come to be, and that Jews now have a homeland where they can secure themselves(which is why I am a sworn lifelong defender of Israel!). Germany might still have some Jewish population, but Germany and Israel is not one country. Yet Germans still pay these moral debts and has assisted in arresting and bringing to justice all known participants in the holocaust. They don't have to do these things, but they do! In a sadistic twist, Nigerians who perpetrated similar crimes against "fellow Nigerians" cannot bring themselves to the level of acknowledging their evil past and expiating or paying compensation or taking moral responsibility or taking judicial actions to forestall a repeat (like jailing those responsible). When you look at these things, anyone with any atom of brains would realize the stupidity of the notion of a united Nigeria today. I have often argued that Nigeria's biggest problem is idiocy. |

Let me say this, if Igbos decide today to listen to Ralph Uwechue -the ohanaeze president- to arm up where ever they live in Nigeria, I hope you realize that Nigeria as a whole is the de facto Igbo empire. I say that without shaking! ![]() My natural gift for foresight tells me that a day will come when Yorubas will be begging Igbos to leave Nigeria but it would be too late by then. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that the future of that real estate called Nigeria does not belong to the faint hearted. Thank God Igbos are not faint hearted! ![]() |
No2Atheism:Oh I'm positively shocked you remembered that! ![]() |
@No2Atheism I see you've been defeated hands down by Sonny_bobo ![]() So tell me what next Yorubas are good at -apart from stealing and sitting on the fence like vultures. ![]() |
^^^Unfortunately you don't get it! Your map excludes kingdoms that colonized huge chunks of Yorubaland till date. So keep dreaming ![]() |

Yoruba know how to fight war in the press. That is why instead of lying down (dobale) and begging the Enugu Governor to give them land, they went to the press to complain. It is this same Yoruba Yoruba press that the Yoruba have employed to tell lies and twist facts all these years. Now with the internet and easy news circulation, the whole world knows that Yoruba are nothing but empty-barrelled crooks. They do not even know how to steal, hence they get caught in thousands everyday, with news about them on many international fora. If you are the Gov of Enugu and you receive such news on the internet, will you oblige them any land, even in the desert? Useless people. Na so so mouth and obo ati Oko they get, nothing more. ![]() yommyuk:Ewu Yoruba! ![]() |
I think the bigger coward is the person who cannot face up with his past and either expiate or vow never again. I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed with the madrush mindset to bury the past. That is the typical Nigerian mindset! That is how the country has been bleeding billions of dollars and human blood since 1960. What type of a people are always quick to forget the past Everything goes under the carpet as soon as they happened, only to repeat. Is that how the first world countries developed? These pictures are pretty graphic, but Africans value images more. I've read from people here who talk as if these things happened in Pluto. The fact is they happened in NIGERIA and in not so distant past. Someone suggested for Nigeria to create national memorials and monument sites and mark a special day to remember these innocent victims of a genocide. What is so wrong with that The only mind who could disagree with something so noble is a mind planning a repeat. Shameless idiots! ![]() |

Jakumo:Correction -Akwa Ibom state government (not Cross river). Bro Jakumo take note! ![]() Back to the topic, I had a sweet sensation in my belly (sweet belle) after watching this video! There is something original and good about this airport! Gov, Akpabio should consult with the best managers to design a sustainability plan to make this airport viable. With little clever strategies, we can have a REAL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT in the East. I don't know what killed Calabar. Port Harcourt is not living up to expectation. We need someone to step up in the East to create a real international airport. I'll love to touch down at the new Ibom International airport (love the sound of that!) soon. Kudos to Gov Akpabio and Akwa Ibom. |
This is not meant to insult Yoruba people, but I think that Justice Olubunmi Oyewole is the single most important Yoruba person in Nigeria's post independence history! This judge is making a statement and she is making it loud and clear. Her judgement is of historic proportions and could change the history of that country. It takes a lot of courage to do what she just did. Other judges in Nigeria will likely take a cue from her. Today is 2 years, tomorrow it could be 200 years! A breath of fresh air indeed! |
yommyuk:Biggest lie of the year! I think it's more like the opposite. Biafra gives sleepless nights to Nigerians outside of the East. Who cares about what Afenifere thinks ![]() |
mekuslogan:Omnious list ![]() |
I really wonder why people are mischieviously accusing Ojukwu of dictatorship during the war. Can anyone show me any country that fought a war of survival (I mean fighting against invading forces) without declaring marshal law? Even the most democratic countries declare marshal law and suspend the constitution to enable the state mobilize resources quickly enough to fend off the invaders. So why should Biafra be different? There is no democracy when fighting off invading forces, period! This is part of why I'm disappointed in Uwechues public repremand of Ojukwu. Does anyone think that Gowon would have remained charitable if Biafran forces made serious inroads into Nigeria? We can only speculate now, but I wouldn't be shocked if Gowon turned more dictatorial than Ojkwu in the event that Biafran forces captured key cities in Nigeria. Like I said in earlier post, Ojukwu had his faults. He did his best and meant well for Biafra (which is why Nigeria hasn't faired any better 40 years after the war). For that he will remain our hero, not matter what revisionists say! Ndigbo and our Eastern neighbors are learning the real lessons of the war. If you don't try out an idea, how can you know which is bad and which is good? In trying, we discovered the wrong way to secede from Nigeria. We won't repeat that wrong way! |
Pro Anti:Ol'boy that one na voodoo maths o! ![]() |
If Nigeria is generating something within the bounds of sanity, say about 10,000 -20,000MW, it is easy to excuse, afterall Nigeria is a developing country, right? That is far from the case. We currently generate about 1400MW! To generate anything under 10,000MW for a country of 155 million is criminal and atrocious. I cannot find the words to qualify the current electricity generation levels! |
Total power generation by country: USA Population: 307 million Electricity generation: 995,000MW China Population: 1.2 billion Electricity generation: 713,000MW United Kingdom Population:62 million Electricity generation: 74,000MW South Africa Population: 49 million Electricity generation: 36,000MW Egypt Population: 77 million Electricity generation: 23,000MW Nigeria Population: 155 million Electricity generation: 4,500MW (current electricity generating strength is below 1,400MW ) How can one explain this disparity to a non-Nigerian ![]() Pray how can anyone go to sleep with this gigantic millstone of national shame around his/her neck? If you plotted the graph of the six countries, Nigeria is the clear outlier. If there are no other black African countries generating adequate electricity for local consumption, a mischievious racist could surmise that blacks lack basic intelligence. Thank God that is not the case! So, the problem must be Nigerian. ![]() http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/editorial_opinion/article02//indexn2_html?pdate=271009&ptitle=Electrical power capacity in Nigeria |
@yommyuk I'm shocked you said you never heard about Yorubas living in Igboland until today! And you believe you are informed enough to comment on this thread !Chei, naija get problem o! |
sjeezy8:Ol'boy you don go AWOL? Come stay yarn na! |
This quote from Julius Nyerere on the Nigeria/ Biafra war captures the whole truth of the situation then and even today: “I still believe that they (Nigerian officials) are capable of recognizing the tragedy which has caused one part of the federation to break away, and of acknowledging that very different tactics are necessary if the old Nigeria is ever to be recreated. For surely they could decide to leave the Biafrans to go their own way and, by the kind of Nigeria which they create, to show the Biafrans what they are losing by remaining separated from their brethren. For if the other peoples of Nigeria decide to work together, they will continue to be a strong and powerful force in Africa; they really have the opportunity to build a good nation of which every Nigerian –indeed every African – can be proud. Then it may be that at some time in the future the Biafrans will wish to rejoin the peoples from whom they now wish to part; if this happens, it will be the accession of a free people to a large and free political will.” I have great respect for Nyerere, and the above quote tells me that the Ex-Tanzanian leader and statesman understood Nigeria and her problems far more than the so-called Nigerian statesmen. |
Did Uwechue say anything new? I really don't think so! And I wonder what the whole hullabaloo is about. The new thing is the method Uwechue chose to communicate his feelings. I am disappointed with Uwechue and here's why: Uwechue spoke as if those problems of Ndigbo in Nigeria have been finally resolved, and therefore he is at liberty to peddle his opinions about our past leader. For heavens sake he is the Ohanaeze President and didn't need to educate the whole world about Ojukwu's faults as a leader. He has the ears of all Igbo chieftains and all Igbo. His Job is to work to unite Ndigbo in all parts of Nigeria. He is not doing that. If he thinks that the tendency to repeat the past mistakes still exist (which I strongly doubt), pray whose job is it to fix it? Is he fixing it by launching attacks on the one individual that strikes fear in the enemy of Ndigbo? So he should communicate those things through the channels of Ime-Obi or Aka Ikenga. He is free to speak as an Igbo person after he resigned his position. It was irresponsible of him to make those statements concerning Ojukwu's personality. Igbo people say that "E Ji egbe mgbo di na nke mgbo adighi we chupu onye iro" (You use both loaded and unloaded guns to drive out the enemy!) Afterall only you know which of your guns are loaded! I'm disappointed in these statements. I am far younger than the Ohanaeze chieftain but I wouldn't make those statements! Uwechue should wait until his term is over before making any similar statements. The Ohanaeze chieftain may not know it, but Igbo have since learned all the lessons necessary from our war experience, which is why Igbo approach to Nigeria and Biafra today is markedly different than what happened in the past. |
I still don't believe that the resultant scenario would be this grim throughout Nigeria. May be so in the core north, and some middle belts areas if other areas (East or West) don't quickly absorb them. Look, I don't believe there would be war anywhere in the East or South. These areas can easily negotiate a nation from the pieces of Nigeria. No one would lord it over the other in the old East. The trouble would start by including the Yoruba in the new south/eastern nation. I even see a possibility of forming a nation comprising the old East and the Mid-west, and even up to Benue, and here is why: These areas share some deep sets of values. For instance, if there is a need to form the type of a nation where people can seek and obtain employment in all parts of the nation, all these areas could easily adapt to such values except the Yoruba. A Yoruba would vote for and give employment to another Yoruba many times over before considering a non-Yoruba, and that is a fact. The other point is acting on deep convictions without unnecessary suspicion. For instance, if the new south/eastern nation is attacked by a foreign country, I see the Igbo, Ibibio, Ijaw, Isoko, Edo, Tiv, Idoma pick up arms to fight the foreigner almost without asking questions. The Yoruba would demure a little and would need some special treatment before agreeing to go to war. And if woe betides the new nation and the leader happens to be Igbo or Ijaw, the Yoruba can even tell the foreign enemy that the problem is with the tribe of the new leader. Something like "Igbo ah, they are so aggressive!". They would say the same of the Ijaw too. There has been instances in a foreign country where Nigerians of Yoruba extraction were telling the host nation that the criminals in their country were mainly Igbos! Pray how can a foreign country understand that, and what do you hope to achieve by singling out fellow Nigerians for special attention and censure? So, a new nation in the south is possible minus the Yoruba. This is just the sad truth. I could be wrong, and I welcome corrections. |
one mopol:Your point is plausible and well noted, but I would respectfully disagree with the logic behind it. No rational person sets out to plan his/her future simply on luck, chance or happenstance. Progress must be planned and methodically implemented. There is an electoral reform bill which was prepared and written by men who wish Nigeria well. But guess what, it is being systematically sabotaged by the beneficiaries of the system. It may never see the light of day! A unitarist, non-performing and corrupt political party is scheming to retain power for 60 years. Keep your eyes on INEC and Iwu. Until there is a change there, all we are doing is hope that chance would throw up characters like Fashola and Ngige. "Hope is not a strategy" - Kevin Madden |
@Poster At least you admit that Ngige built only roads! If Obi built only hospitals, don't you think that Anambra would have the best hospitals in Nigeria? Show me one thing Obi can be remembered for. You can't simply bury our money in the ground and call that development. Ngige can be remembered for roads. A great leader sets one goal at a time and makes a superlative impact on that goal. Ngige did just that. |
