The Oyo State government has reiterated its commitment to leave no stone unturned in harnessing the natural resources at its disposal.

It also vowed to put the resources into effective use in order to expand industrialization potentials for progress and development in the State.

Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye made this known while delivering his keynote address at the quarterly meeting with Oyo State Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OYCCIMA) and other Organised Private Sectors in Oyo State held at the Western Hall, Secretariat, Ibadan .

According to Hon. Olaleye, the purpose of the quarterly meeting is to encourage interaction among relevant stakeholders, interest groups and government with a view to ensuring virile business environment conducive for productive investments in the State.

Russia promised at peace talks on Tuesday to scale down its military operations around Kyiv and northern Ukraine, while Ukraine proposed adopting a neutral status but with international guarantees that it would be protected from attack.

The talks in a palace in Istanbul came as Russia’s invasion has been halted on most fronts by strong resistance, with Ukrainians recapturing territory in counter-attacks, even as civilians are trapped in besieged cities.

“In order to increase mutual trust and create the necessary conditions for further negotiations and achieving the ultimate goal of agreeing and signing (an) agreement, a decision was made to radically, by a large margin, reduce military activity in the Kyiv and Chernihiv directions,” Russian Deputy Defence Minister Alexander Fomin told reporters.

Russia’s General Staff would reveal more detail about those decisions after the Russian delegation returned to Moscow, Fomin added.

The talks held in Istanbul on Tuesday were the first face-to-face meeting between the sides since March 10.

Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, and has failed to capture any major Ukrainian cities after meeting fierce resistance.

Ukraine’s proposals at the talks were the most detailed that either side has aired publicly.

Presidential aspirant and Former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has dumped the People’s Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the 2023 election.
Reports says Kwankwaso will on Wednesday officially join the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

One of the former Governor’s associates made this known saying, “I can inform you that he is heading to the NNPP. His letter of resignation from the PDP was delivered to his ward in Kano today.”

A UNIPORT-Trained Surgeon, Chinelo Killed During Attack On Abuja-Kaduna Train By Terrorist .

Megafu Chinelo, a University of Port Harcourt trained Dental Surgeon, has been identified as one of the passengers shot dead during a terrorist attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday.
According to multiple reports, Dr. Chinelo, who was among the passengers on board the train had twitted after being shot and called for prayers.

Her tweet reads: “I’m on the train. I have been shot, please pray for me”

Two drug traffickers, Elvis Uche Iro, 53 and Uwaezuoke Ikenna Christian, 42, have excreted a total of 165 wraps of cocaine following their arrest at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA for ingesting the illicit drug. They excreted the drugs while under observation in the Agency’s custody.

Speaking with Saturday Beats from his hospital bed, Ibu said, “I just got poisoned again. It seems my enemies are using me to rehearse (their powers). This time, I wasn’t poisoned in the village. I was poisoned in Abuja last week at an entertainment event. I really cannot explain how I was poisoned because it was a gathering of people, though it was not a big event.”

1983 CLASS: ICS GREAT AHIAEKE INAUGURATES NATIONAL EXCO AS BARR. VINCENT DIKE EMERGES AS CHAIRMAN

Former students of Immaculate Conception Seminary, ICS, 1983 Class, Ahiaeke, Umuahia, Abia State, has inaugurated the national executive body as Barrister Vincent Dike emerged the chairman of the association.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the group conducted election via zoom on 18th March, 2022, and the result was announced the following day, 19th  March, 2022, where majority of the members participated and voted their choice candidates under the  electroal committee led by Rev.Fr.  Nath Dike and Chief Chucks Ajaelu as Chief returning officer and Deputy returning officer respectively. 

During the election,  Rev. FrJude Njoku was elected as the vice chairman while Maximus Ahamefula emerged as the General Secretary.

The returning officers, while declaring results stated: “The underlisted  candidates having scored the highest number of votes and having fulfilled the requirements of our Constitution are hereby returned elected”.

The journey to the inauguration of the national executive started through the drafting, reading, amendment and passing of the National Constitution, which took several months before it was  passed as working documents of the association. 
Immaculate Conception Seminary is a minor diocesan seminary founded by the Catholic Diocese of Umuahia in Nigeria. It is a diocesan seminary, which belongs to the Catholic Diocese of Umuahia in Nigeria. The building of the seminary blocks started in 1960 by late Bishop Anthony Nwedo.
Having established a seminary high school—Immaculate Conception Seminary, at Ahiaeke, Umuahia, Nwedo embarked on serious campaigns to attract young boys to the school, which led to the enrollment of great Ahiaeke 83 to the school. 

The school has produced many priests and Bishops including Bishop Michael Ukpon, who is Ahiaeke 83 set,  the Rector of Seat of Wisdom Seminary,  Owerri, Fr  Jude Njoku, Fr  Francis Anozie and others.

The Laity included Barr. Chucks Ajaelu, Chief Cyriacus Izuekwe, Emmanuel Okeke, Kenneth Ohaeri, Bar Ephraim Ikwugbado, Tobias Alaneme Patrick Obiano and many others, who are doing well in various sectors of the society. 
The National chairman, who is also the chairman of ICS Lagos branch, during inauguration stated that it was the school that trained, prepared and  shaped the members on the values to become responsible people in the society and there was need for them to work together and give back to the society through the school. He solicited for the support of the members to move the association to the next level.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc, has reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintain a sustained fight against illegal bunkering, pipeline vandalism, economic saboteurs, and other criminal elements in the country.

This promise came on the heels of the achievements recorded by the Inspector-General of Police Special Task Force on Petroleum/Illegal Bunkering (IGP-STFPIB) which has successfully impounded 41 trucks, 13 other vehicles; arrested 42 suspects out of whom 21 have been charged to court with 17 still under investigations while 4 convictions have been secured in court; pending and final forfeiture of 14 Tankers and 4 Cars to the Federal Government of Nigeria, with 6 cases pending in various Federal High Court branches across the federation. Equally, a total of 1,057,000 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), 30,000 litres of Low Pour Furl Oil (LPFO), 75,000 litres of Crude oil, and 9,900 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) were between 2021 till date.

Men of Ogun state police command on the 20th of March 2022 arrested a housewife and mother of five for pouring petrol on her 20 years old daughter and set her ablaze.

The suspect, Aisha Tijani was arrested following a report lodged at Mowe divisional headquarters by one Moroof Ayinde, who reported that the suspect who lives in the same house with him poured petrol on her little daughter and set her ablaze. He stated further that, the woman got annoyed because the little girl took a phone she seized from one of her children from where she kept it and gave it back to the child whose hand the phone was seized.

With reference to the looming crisis in PDP , It will be recalled that on 12th,March 2022, Gov. Wike had a live broadcast calling the Dept. Governor Of Edo state names that is ridiculing, he also stated that he will raise sanctions against him for giving PDP alternatives.

In reply to the live broadcast, The Governor of Edo state, H.E Godwin Obaseki had put out a befitting reply on 14th March, 2022 which goes thus:

The recent personal attacks by His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Nyesom Wike, against my Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu is, to say the least, most unfortunate and totally uncalled for.

Church General Overseer arrested with drugs at Lagos airport.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested the General Overseer of Christ Living Hope Church, Rev. Ugochukwu Emmanuel Ekwem at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja Lagos while on his way to a three-week crusade in Nairobi, Kenya, with 54 sticks of drugs wrapped around his body.
