Ironsi in his May 24 1966 National Broadcast clearly stated it that the regions were abolished and that Nigeria had ceased to be what is called a federation and had rather become just Republic of Nigeria. Again and quite recently Philip Asiodu, an Igbo man was reported by The Sun Newspaper, an Igbo newspaper, to have revealed the discussion between himself and Ojukwu at those times during which Ojukwu informed him of the plan of him and Ironsi to abolish the regions within six months of illegally taking over power.

Haven't you ever heard about Zik's killing of Awolowo's and Enahoro's secession clause motions which even Arewas declared supported for?
