I'm also seeing the same message that we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements and also background check.

Would it be possible to get medical request without the biometrics ?

Anon123:
You are currently in the eligibility stage where they go through your admission letter ,sop proving if you are genuinely eligible to be consider a student going for studies, acct statements and supporting documents to decide if you are eligible. if you are found worthy , you will get a medical request. So pray

Canada makes huge changes to help international students
Canada will fast-track study permit processing and is introducing a temporary 2-stage study permit process.
July 14, 2020 By Kareem El-Assal

IRCC has just announced several major changes to help international students pursue their education in Canada.

International students offer significant social and economic benefits which is why Canada seeks to attract them to the country. Prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada hosted over 640,000 international students.

In a news release issued today, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) said that it will help international students as follows:

IRCC will prioritize the processing of study permits for students who have submitted a completed application online so that their permits are processed as soon as possible
IRCC is introducing a temporary 2-stage approval process for international students who can not yet submit a completed study permit application and who want to begin their Canadian educational program online. This temporary process is available to students who want to begin their program this fall and who submit their study permit application by September 15, 2020
As previously reported by CIC News in May, IRCC is also enabling students to begin their Canadian studies online while they are still abroad and having that time count towards their Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility so long as they have submitted a study permit application and if at least 50 per cent of the program is completed in Canada.

Why IRCC is helping international students
IRCC says it is rolling out these measures to help students begin their programs in time for the fall 2020 academic year.

IRCC recognizes that the global coronavirus crisis is creating uncertainty for international students. In addition, the pandemic has impacted IRCC’s ability to process study permits.

However these new changes will help students begin their programs online this fall at a Canadian designated learning institution (DLI).

There are numerous benefits to IRCC’s changes.

Benefits to international students
International students can take comfort in being able to start their Canadian program online which will protect their health and safety and enable them to achieve their various study, career, and immigration objectives.

If they wish to begin their Canadian studies this fall, IRCC will do its best to process their study permit as soon as it can. Even if the student is unable to submit a completed study permit application, IRCC will pre-approve them if they meet the conditions outlined below.

Students want to come to Canada due to its high-quality of education. In addition, they are attracted by the opportunities to work in Canada during and after their studies, and potentially obtain permanent residence to become the Canadian citizens of the future.

IRCC’s new policies are meant to help international students pursue such goals.

How to get a pre-approval for a study permit
IRCC will provide an approval-in-principle for study permits if students pass the first stage.

To pass the first stage, study permit applicants must show that:

They have been accepted at a Canadian designated learning institution
Have enough funds to support their education in Canada
Meet all other study permit requirements
After passing this stage, students can begin their studies online while still overseas and still have this period count towards their PGWP eligibility and duration (as long as they eventually obtain a study permit).

To receive a final approval for a study permit, students will need to complete the application process including submitting biometrics and necessary documents such as a medical exam and police certificate.

Upon receiving final approval for their study permit.

Thank you. Some people here got the same request after 4 days of submission, that's why I asked.

quote author=TimAke post=90874404] If you submitted your application and pay the biometric fee, you get a Biometric request within 24hours, this is the normal procedure and not a red flag at all.
@Frankrobbn1 and Justmellow. I submitted my application on the 19th June and got biometrics request 20th June. Is this normal or a red flag ?.

For me I believe it's too sudden.. Just one day

Congrats Boss keep winning.

Frankrobbn1:
Thank boss for the compliments and best wishes. It was indeed a herculean task to find a designated employer that will be ready to sponsor a foreign National through the AIPP route. Almost all the employers I contacted turned down my request. However, my persistence and resilience towards achieving my goal was a no-brainer for me. I thank God it worked and I was able to land a job offer in the Atlantic Province of Newfoundland, Canada. All things being equal, I hope to celebrate soonest.

It will surely end in praise.

All the documents I submitted to IRCC was blur due to compression. It was 6.86 MB after scanning then after compressing, it was 3.50 MB. I am afraid my application might be rejected due to this issue.

What can be the remedy since I already have submitted to IRCC ?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Onweke: 12:03pm On May 26, 2020
Thanks Once again my brother. Remain blessed!

Frankrobbn1:
You don't require any signature for online applications. Upon uploading of documents into its various columns as per the online checklist, you will be promoted to use your full name as written on your passport to electronically sign and transmit the documents to IRCC for due visa processing.

It will end in praise
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Onweke: 2:26pm On May 25, 2020
Thanks for the information Boss.

Frankrobbn1:
Its not possible to receive medicals when you've not completed your biometrics enrollment. As I said before, only the R10 check will be carried out by the Immigration Case Analyst at the High of Commission of Canada while the main immigration officer waits for your biometrics details prior to processing files. Biometrics is very important in the Canadian immigration policy.

It will end in praise.

Impossible... unless the person has done biometrics in the last 10yrs..other than that, it's not possible to get medical request without a biometrics. Without a biometrics, your application won't be attended to

If that is the case matured married applicant without children for now can certainly be self sponsored with how much in account for POF?. 3 -5 million naira okay for one year program?

Frankrobbn1:
March applicants have started receiving updates on their applications.

Matured married applicant can certainly be self-sponsored. That's even the most ideal way of proving to the visa officer that you're well-established in your home country and undoubtedly would return home after studies.

It will end in praise.

Please what's the required IMM forms for study visa?
I know about this ones

IMM 5873

Any other IMM forms ?.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Onweke: 8:33pm On Apr 10, 2020
Frankrobbn1:
You can use your mom's pension SOA as an auxiliary to her main account statement for your Visa application. I wouldn't advice that you should submit only her pension as the primary POF because funds in pension account has restriction and can't be accessible in full during your studies in Canada.

Documents to show transfer of ownership should be titled Deed of Gift.

It will end in praise.
Thanks boss @ Frankrobbn

Please remember today is friday. I sent you an email.

Kindly assist. God bless !!

Good day great people.

Will visa officer accepts my mum's pension account of 10 million for purpose of settlement fund?
I already have paid my school fees. Should i add my cousin's (same surname) statement of account as co sponsor ( 5 million) ?

I need your kindest advice.

Okay thank you.

quote author=JustMellow post=86589318]

Hello Onweke,

The fund is insufficient, look for a more reliable sponsor. If you have a work experience or still working, its best advised to include one. You should try to get at least your LE in it.

All the best.
mcobex:
The 5 million will be for what and what? Explain to us what you intend to cover with that amount. Is the sponsor giving you the whole 5 million or what is the plan?
N.B: You can't pay your tuition and living expenses by just showing your lands/properties
I have already paid my school fees last year december just for student visa/permit application.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Onweke: 2:25pm On Feb 12, 2020
Please can I present only my sponsors (cousin with the same surname) statement of account like 5 million naira?
I don't intend to present my own statement since there is no fund in my account now. I will also attach my lands and house documents as evidence too.

I got my admission letter Nov 30, 2019 for sept 2020 intake. I paid my tuition fee Dec2019 since then I have lost interest in applying for the student visa because of high rate of visa refusal. I always look for other options to enter Canada or any other country. I cannot take the shock of being rejected atall. I don't need any sponsor how much is expected to be in my account as settlement fund ?.

Napolitano2012:
APL will be out SOON as the GMD said.. but before then, let me drop an info I learnt about recently from my HR Source.. it has nothing to do with the release but rather with a very weird method applied in correcting the first list..

She claimed that a first list was submitted sometime in October but it was met with disapproval from Top Guns in government causing the initial delays and rancours.. mostly because it was claimed to favour more of the west and south and not enough of the north... According to her, on that day she informed us that the GMD called a very short emergency meeting after the Quiz Event, it was resolved that the list should be modified after which online documentation should follow..

.. she said they (HR DEPARTMENT) consequently proceeded to remove some names from some states in order to balance it by adding some names in order states.. NOW the weird gist is, CAN u imagine the method they applied in choosing the new names that were added... she said that in order to be fast with the selection and to make it fair, they logged into the dashboards of the candidates with high scores that were not selected before, then they checked the number of times each candidate had logged in since the interview and the regularity with which they logged in and from there, they selected over hundreds of new names based purely on how often they frequented their dashboard. when my boss asked her why,, she said since the candidates in question all had the necessary high score, they couldn't pick all, they needed a particular number and so it was down to luck... and for the method, she said the logic was that those who were continually checking their dashboard showed that they were really interested in the job and were eager to know if their status had changed but those who didn't log in oftenly might not care much bout the job..

mehn, I was shocked dat day.. that is how many of us here would be called by luck.. from dat day, I began to believe more in prayers ... people who were not in the original list, see how Fate turned tins around for their favour...... just with a weird reason of logging in to ur dashboard oftenly.. that's it... we wait.
What kind of blind or deaf talk is this huh

Thank you Sir Frankrobbn . Noted.

Frankrobbn1:
It's better you silence the banking experience and focus on getting letters that would show you're still in the same geo-information discipline/field. To me and in the sight of the visa officer, this shows a logical procession between your passion, your previous studies, your current employment and intended program.

In order not to detail the thread with constant repetitive answers please check my post earlier this year forTHE LIST OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR A SUCCESSFUL STUDY VISA APPLICATION.
