PoliticsRe: Yayale To Take Charge : As Jonathan Jets To Us by onyengbu1(m): 10:56am On Apr 12, 2010
Bluetooth can be  very annoying with his blind and baseless arguments.

Even when it has become clear that his argument is empty, he keeps looking for loopholes that are none existent.  Grow up please.

Cant you see how kobojunkie and others silently bowed out when it became clear to them that they are arguing out of context.

The acting president has not HANDED OVER and is not MANDATED to handover because he is going to US. He only DELEGATED power.

The key lies in Section 5, read it again.

I am not surprised that above is all you can quote from that thread but even that one alone is enough before you allege attack on your person.

Now tell us HOW Dora failed in her job (aside website that seem to be your main concern) and how she is bad she has been.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Message To All Dora's Haters Is Simple : You Can All Got To Blazes by onyengbu1(m): 11:20pm On Apr 06, 2010
All of u saying that Dora failed or made mistakes in the past, can you list and itemize Dora's mistakes and failures and explain clearly how they did not fall into what she is supposed to be doing or how they are against wishes of most nigerians.

What you always get to hear on Dora's issues are things like:
her role in this. . .

She failed. . .

and other baseless comments. I need to hear her bad actions and failures and not general unclarified accusations.

Again, it suprises me so much how easily kobonjunkie jumps at every opportunity at bashing Dora or reminding people that they supported Dora.
If you go back to ekiti inec woman thread here on NL, she was everywhere defending dora's comments against the lady.
What a hypocrite!

What people are saying is that people who are fighting (Ife/Modakeke, Ijaw/Itsekiri, Umuleri/Agwuleri, Birom/Fulani) see human lives as nothing. It is not peculiar to a tribe.
Comparing those fightings with what is happening in Jos is quite deceiving to someone who has no idea what those crisis are really for.

Go ahead and compare gangster wars in US.
PoliticsRe: Is Break Up Equal To Civil War? by onyengbu1(op): 9:54am On Mar 15, 2010
If people are arguing against break up on the ground that it is not on the collective interest of all Nigerians then it might make more sense.
However, many nairalanders including the admin seem to be of the opinion that any form of break up call means call for war. That notion makes it difficult for many people who are advocating for break up without war to express their view due to fear of being labelled war mongers.
PoliticsIs Break Up Equal To Civil War? by onyengbu1(op): 7:40am On Mar 15, 2010
I really need to know because any time anyone here on nairaland raises the issue of break up of Nigeria, some people instantly conclude the person is asking for war.

My questions:
1. Cant a country break up without violence?

2. Is it the way the country is structured disproportionately in resources (both human and natural) that made people conclude that some part of the country will fight in order to be in the group.

3. Are some people just imagining war?
ComputersRe: Help, I'm About To Close Down My Cafe by onyengbu1(m): 11:04am On Mar 13, 2010
Some people here are saying cafe business dead because they bought starcomms yesterday. In developed countries where almost everyone owns laptop and internet access is as simple as plugging your laptop in a socket they still have cybercafes.
What is even the ratio of people that need daily internet access and have it in their homes to the ones that need it but dont have it.
Again, Is it everywhere you take your laptop to?

Bottom line. For intending cafe owners, if you dont understand the business, dont go into it.
Many people i know have made and are still making money from cafe yet even more are closing down like our poster friend here.
PoliticsRe: Gowon - My Role In Nigeria-biafra War by onyengbu1(m): 7:03am On Mar 10, 2010
Katsumoto:
War is always a tragedy; all parties to a conflict lose in one way or the other. I empathise with you for your losses, both human and material but that is a consequence of war. Can you think of any war that did not result in the loss of innocent lives. Even the wars of the middle ages that were fought on plains still led to the loss of innocent lives as victorious parties would later raid villages and towns of losing parties looting, despoiling, and killing women and children.

That Biafrans suffered the most casualties does not necessarily imply that Biafran soldiers were not equally guilty of war crimes. If Biafran forces repelled Nigerian attacks and succeeded in launching their own attacks on the Nigerian side, would they have been able to achieve victory without killing civilians?

The tragedy of the war is that Gowon did not offer protection to the Biafrans before the war which consequently led to the secession bid but fought to keep the Biafrans within Nigeria losing many innocent lives in the process.
If biafrans were the ones attacking, we wouldnt have known what woulda happened. We dont reason like them.
An example. That hamas was launching rockets into israeli civillian populace did not make israel to launch their own rockets into palestinian civillian populace. Except for few where hamas launched from under the cover of civillians.

Yea true, innocent people die in war. That still doesnt mean that war cannot be fought responsibly which will only result in minimal loss of civilian lives.
However, when an army goes all out in bombing villages that has no military targets or armed men, what do you call that. War to the federal troops then means killing as many biafrans as possible irrespective of their status. We are not talking of summary executions carried out by murtala and others.
Part of the reason why biafran soldiers were able to withstand them for 30 months was because they werent mainly targetting them. They were busy killing non fighters while biafran soldiers were busy hitting them hard.

Gowon and his men committed a lot of war crimes and im more than ever before certain that he is not getting enough sleep due to that. If not what else explains his unwarranted war role explanations.

I am not an Obasanjo fan but all he did was bring the war to an end. He wasn't at Enugu, Asaba, or Onitsha. He advanced on Owerri to end the war.
was he the only person i mentioned?
Again, wasnt he like others shelling villages on his way to 'end the war'?
People like you might never understand why igbos will never 4get the war so easily.
I lost my maternal uncle in that war.
My home town is about 9km from önitsha/asaba but my dad's old house which is still standing till today still has a huge hole opened from the roof thru the ceiling to the floor. It missed my grandmother by a couple of feet. Effect of shellings from murtala and his men fired all the way from asaba and onitsha. Thousands of such landed in my hometown killing people in their homes and bunkers.
What kind of military strategy is that if not a deliberate act of genocide.
Yet someone like gowon will come out today to lie about their actions.
He aint seen nothing yet!

All you people saying that it will never happen in ibadan should think again.
Ten years ago, nobody would have imagined that it can happen in jos.
It is never goin to be yoruba xtians and muslims against each other. They will simply import their brothers from up north.

I wonder why the guy that issued that threat should not be arrested now. Also, even though i dont know why a muslim should be watching or be concerned by what is done in a xtian movie, i still do not see why dat church will choose 'castigating' islam as their form of evangelisation even though they are aware of the mixed nature of ibadan religiously. There are tons of other effective means to spread their gospel. I am not sure dat xtians in iraq were converted by movies made against islam. Anyone who tried it would not have lived to see his/her converts.

from the very beginning -

the coup plotters failed to anticipate the reaction of the northerners . for whatever reason, they assumed that the northerners would take the assassination of key figures in their polity stoically.

they assumed that they could secede bloodlessly from nigeria

they assumed they would get international support.

they probably like so many nairalanders - assumed that northerners were dumb gworo chewing eejits who were better suited to herding cattle than fighting wars
Why  are you guys hell bent on distorting history?

What made you say that the coup plotters were carrying out biafran agenda?, or that it was their plan to secede or every other allegation you are heaping on them.

It is a bit pardonable to label that coup 'a coup plotted by igbo people' but it isn't when you guys keep making it a coup plotted for igbo people.

Until  guys like you accept that the coup plotters were not carrying out igbo agenda and make attempts to address the injustices meted out on ndi igbo under that assumption, Nigeria will never work?

And if you cannot tell us the reason why Ojukwu was growing fat while all the other Ibos where suffering starvation under the blockade, then tell me you're ignorant of it, or tell me maybe it was the divine air he was breathing which his father left for him then I'll make it my duty to tell you the truth that Ojukwu was enjoying sumptuous meals while men, women, children and babies were dying of starvation.

Do you even know that more Ibos were killed by Ojukwu's starvation spree than were shot or bombed by the Federal Government? Ojukwu killed more Ibo civilians than the Federal Government killed Biafran soldiers.
Answer these questions:

Must Ojukwu grow thin? Did they tell you that every biafra grew thin during the war? Why are you always foolishly harping on this growing fat thing?
Even if I have to accept that starvation killed more than the soldiers did, is not the ultimate ploy of the federal government to use starvation as a tool?
Are you telling me that you are not aware that your brother awolowo told the whole world that starvation is a valid tool of warfare?
Do you not know that federal government insisted they will be incharge of supplying food for the people they are fighting? Instead of Aid organizations?
What was their motive?

I wont blame biafran leaders for trusting gowon, awolo and others.

My Nnewi folks say that "o bu mmadu si ka edo nwere nkwo, a si ya ka onwere eke, o ya aju" translated -it is the masses that says that Edo (the chief deity or goddess in Nnewi) should own the Nkwo Nnewi market, if she (Edo) is told by the same masses to move to Eke market, she has no choice but to obey!

PDP is only as powerful as people like you give it powers. Anambra people proved that.

We can dismantle the PDP evil stronghold if we want, YES WE CAN.
Dig up my posts and you will see that I have not only supported Soludo but also Ngige.
I was trumpeting for anybody but Peter Obi. Not because he is APGA but because he is performing below expectation.

I still maintain that whether PDP or APGA or AC, they are all the same thing.

adigun101:
The problem with Nigeria is not only PDP but our ruling class.
What you guys are clamouring for have been experienced in the SW.
Ask what happened to AD.
The fact that they were a regional party did not make the governors perform.
Obi of APGA has so far not performed !
He has been outperformed by Chime and Uduaghan of PDP in neighboring states.
Even the likes of Amaechi and Donald duke are all PDP.
You guys need to ask serious questions instead of being carried away by sentiments.
I have always believed in voting for individuals and not party. Obi performed below expectation in anambra but people were willing to forget about all that as long as PDP or AC is not there. How has that helped anyone.

Unless he suddenly develops a change of mind, anambra will be in the frozen developmental mode till the next 4 years.
