Studying abroad give our graduates a competitive edge. They can stay abreast of global information which can in turn help the country and the student.

Unis in Jand also encourage term abroads, I'm sure that you went on a term abroad session during your school year. (well those who could afford it went)

This is all i wanted answered. Oka let me say this. For me to live there will be difficult. For one thing im not used to the environment. I have lived aboard all my life that is a drastic change. I can visit and help out my country but for me to just pack up and leave is out of the question.

You can contribute as an exec, worker, business owner, every one needs  to do something to make the country go on to the next level.
But no one is willing to initiate this kind of change or "reorientation" as someone put it.

The way yal are going about it is not very convincing. Yal are over here pounding down on me for choosing to stay where i am. Don't i have that right? Of course i will visit, send money, help build churches, schools, hospitals, so on and so forth. But for you to tell me to give up my life here and all that i have sacrificed for, achieved, earned just like that is outrageous.

I do believe that there is hope for Nigeria, but what good is it for us who have already established lives aboard to come back.
Instead of trying to get all those who have made lives outside the country, why not fix the country so that the ones who are living there will STAY?

I lived in the UK and studied for a Master's degree in one of the leading UK universities - Edinburgh precisely - but i choose to come back home to my country. Suffer? Majority of Nigerians abroad are in the medical field so they have NOTHING to offer the country at this point. So the likes of you can stay  abroad.  

Ha ha this is so hilarious. We have nothing to offer abi? This is truly a quote to remember. I wonder since we have nothing to offer, people beg these people to help them fund hospitals. In fact, one group contacted my father to help them rebuild their hospital and supply equipment. And he and his co workers, helped rebuild that hospital, supply equipment, and then some. I guess that makes us real use less. Thanks for clearing that up sha.

Well medicine is kind of tricky but there are a few people with successful hospitals.

However, many Nigerians who can afford it would rather send their people abroad than let them stay in Nigeria becuase of the lack of neccesary equipments.

So then what do you think will happen when Nigeria is over flooded with Nurses, Doctors, Surgeons? Will there be enough equipment to go round? Will there be enough PAY to go round? Will there be enough room?

Its really been a long time since u've been to Nigeria. People  in CERTAIN fields get paid more than people abroad. In fact, people get paid in dollars or pounds . Depends on how you negotiate.
In Nigeria
You get company house
company car
allowance on basic necessities
salary (if well negotiated, it can be in dollars or pounds)
_{the only thing you should worrry about is theives unfortunately}  
Private companies are what have helped employees cope thus far

Well this is all nice to here but majority of the people aboard don't work in the business profession. Most of us work in the medical profession. And dont even try to tell me that they pay more there than they do here. I will laugh like no tomorrow.

for the people outside to call it laughable and frustrating to live in Nigeria, is the same thing for people who have tasted the two sides to call it laughable for them to decide to stay and live there,.

You were the lucky one. Both of my parents slaved hours to work to pay for school here. Both had a Master's and Bachelor's degree. When they went back to your beloved home, no one will hire them. Nothing, nada, zipo. So they came back to the states, went back to school. Change their major, and are now success stories. So tell me my brotha, you gonna tell them to pack their things and come back just like that?
