Politics / Zaria Massacre: Lawyer Drags El-Rufai To ICC Over Alleged Genocide by Onyocha: 12:22pm On Apr 16, 2023 |
Shi’ites: Lawyer drags El-Rufai to ICC over alleged genocide by Clement Idoko April 15, 2023Reading Time: 3 mins read An Abuja-based legal practitioner, Bala Dakum, has petitioned the International Criminal Court (ICC), seeking investigation and prosecution of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna over alleged genocide against the Shi’ites Muslim Sect in the state. While addressing newsmen on Saturday in Abuja, Dakum, said a petition has already been written to the ICC to that effect. The lawyer in the petition also urged ICC to investigate and prosecute former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Tukur Buratai (rtd.) and all the commissioners of police who served in Kaduna State from 2015 when El-Rufai assumed office as the state’s governor. Dakum said: “Since his assumption of office as the Executive Governor of Kaduna State in 2015, His Excellency Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has engaged in acts of genocide and crimes against humanity targeted at exterminating our clients (the Shiites Muslim Sect) in Kaduna State. “Our clients have witnessed reigns of terror and unprovoked attacks since the infamous Zaria pogrom wherein about a thousand innocent Shiite Muslims were killed. “Most of them lost their precious lives in the course of exercising their rights to freedom of religion, peaceful assembly and expression which are all guaranteed under Sections 38, 39 and 40 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). The unabated, deliberate and well-calculated machinations by Mallam Nasir El-Rufai to ensure that the Shiite Muslim Sect are extinct in Nigeria, particularly in Kaduna, his home state, compelled us to petition the International Criminal Court (ICC). “The essence of the petition which was submitted this week is to invite ICC to initiate investigations into the atrocious genocide and crimes against humanity committed by Mallam Nasir El-Rufai in the last eight years which looked like eternity on the sight of our clients.” Dakum alleged that Buratai and all police commissioners who had served in the 8-year government of El-Rufai were strongly believed to have aided in committing the crimes under reference. “Our clients are confident that ICC which is empowered under the Rome Statute to initiate investigations and prosecute persons involved in crimes of genocide and against humanity will act expeditiously. “This will help to curtail the excesses of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai which if is not brought under watch will escalate to other states of the federation and egregious atrocities will be committed against our clients,” he said. The lawyer said the call was coming at the tail end of the governor’s administration since he would no longer enjoy the immunity of the office. He, therefore, called on the incoming government not to give El-Rufai any federal appointment just as Buratai was given ambassadorial appointment by the Muhammadu Buhari-led government in order not to portray the country in bad light. https://tribuneonlineng.com/shiites-lawyer-drags-el-rufai-to-icc-over-alleged-genocide/ |

Sports / Should FIFA Investigate Nigeria's Draw Versus Sierra Leone by Onyocha: 10:54am On Nov 14, 2020 |
There is not much to say than to watch the match or even the highlights. From 4-0 before the 30 minutes mark to 4-4 at full time. The fourth goal for Sierra Leone was the most obvious giveaway. The Sierra Leonean striker was cheaply given the ball by the Nigerian defender to equalize. Sierra Leone showed no skills or technical play. They literally were allowed to score 4 goals. What is the role of betting companies in Nigeria in all of this? How much money did they gain from this draw? Nigeria had a 1.16 odd to win against a weak Sierra Leonean team. Did the betting companies in Nigeria have a hand in this? What really happened? Let us not forget that Bonfrere accused Westerhoff of selling the second round 1994 world cup match between Nigeria and Italy for $100,000. Westerhoff went to court to sue Bonfrere to clear his name and deny the accusation. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/07/westerhof-sues-bonfrere-over-allegations-of-match-fixing/ So yes, I think FIFA and CAF should investigate this match. Politics / Re: Why Havent Security Agent Clashed With Suuni Muslims Who Block Road On Fridays? by Onyocha: 5:57am On Sep 06, 2020 |
Oladeligt: This 30 minutes excuse - that Sunnis only block roads every Friday for 30 minutes only is false. They pray on major roads by spreading their mats. They park their cars on the roads and block others from passing. The sermon and the Friday prayer last for 30 minutes. But they normally start trooping in to the mosque and obstructing others before the sermon and prayer commence; that means they would block roads for more than an hour. They also take time before they disperse and clear traffic after the Friday prayer concludes. But even if it is for 5 minutes is that excusable? That still doesnt answer the OP's enquiry. @Seun Then, the Shii'tes would say that they only hold their processions twice in an entire year. On Ashura and on Quds Days. There are at least 52 Fridays in any given year. If Shiites do their processions not more than 3 times in an entire year, that doesnt seem like much. The Shi'ites themselves would argue that they leave space for others to pass and they wont block the entire road. But if Sunnis block roads around the country every Friday for 60 minutes in a year, that is 60 minutes multipled by 52 (weeks). That is 3,120 minutes. If you divide that by 60 minutes, it is 52 hours. So yearly, Sunnis block roads for 52 hours to perform their Friday prayers across Nigeria. That is over 2 days. Now, compare that to a maximum or 2 or 3 days Shiites block roads, if at all (and their processions dont last for more than some hours in any of the two occasions within the year). No much difference, but we see the Sunnis actually block roads across the country more than the Shiites do. Nigeria's issue with its Shiite population is not road blocking. It is far more than that. It is the doctrinal differences with the majority Sunni. When the Nigerian president is Christian, Shiites breath and they are not persecuted as at when the Nigerian president is Sunni Muslim. And among the Sunnis in Nigeria, the Saudi sponsored extremist Wahhabi/Salafist movement has made inroads and invested money in propagating extremist teachings among Nigerian Sunni Muslims. @Seun . And the Wahhabis/Salafists are the ones who regard Shia AKA Shi'ite Muslims as heretics, apostates or unbelievers, and deserve to be killed, just as they see and regard Christians as polyethists who should be killed too. Also, foreign influence contribute to the problem. Shi'ites, particularly the ones with close relations with Iran, the major Shia country in the world, are hated or demonized because they always denounce Saudi Arabia and Israel. And the security agencies in Nigeria have people in them who have sympathies for and relations with other nations, especially Saudi Arabia and Israel. So it is not surprising for clashes with the minority Nigerian Shia to take place. In Jonathan's time, a clash between the an army vehicle and the Shiites took place in Kaduna. The excuse was obstruction of traffic. It is very surprising that everytime and everywhere the Shiites are doing their procession, once or twice a year, there is an army patrol vehicle that is plying that same route. And the Shiites now have mistrust for the army in particular. In that incident in 2014, there is no indication Jonathan ordered any shooting or was aware of the clash before hand. Apparently the decision to confront the Shiites on that day in 2014 was taken locally in Kaduna. 34 Shiites were killed including 3 of Zakzaky's sons. Jonathan then called Zakzaky on phone and apologized. While El Rifai, who was then in opposition was cheering for the Shiites and he even paid a condolence visit to Zakzaky, which more or less was a campaign visit. The same El Rufai that is persecuting the Shiites today. The Saudi influence, which is very anti Shia shouldn't be underestimated in Nigeria, whether among religious groups or even in govt quarters. The question is for how long would Nigerians, who happen to be Shiites be killed extra judicially and brutally on the roads for practicing their faith? This has to stop. Persecution of any religion is not acceptable and will only harden and embolden the adherents and create more problems for all of us. Harmony and tolerance are very much needed. And the bad news is that the Shiites are not going to cease from existing in Nigeria. And they will continue to grow for a simple reason, which if you study their beliefs you would know. The Shiites believe in almost all or everything that the Sunnis believe in. But the Shiites have more beliefs that the Sunnis reject. So the Shiites have extra market to sell to the ordinary Sunni person and attract him over. The main reason why more Sunnis become Shiites and hardly any Shiite would become a Sunni. There is almost nothing, in terms of fundamental doctrines, the Sunni believes in that the Shiite doesnt. But there are things the Shiites hold that Sunnis reject. So once the Shiite can justify those things to the Sunni and is able to convince a Sunni, the convertion takes place. So there must be a way to coexist and tolerate. 1 Like 1 Share |

This is very worrying for the fact that there are people who are willing to issue forged negative results for a deadly virus. It could mean too that people are being issued test results in Nigeria without even being tested. This should be investigated IMHO. |

lastempero: You are judging them based on the way they are dressed in that video. Likely, they shot that video when not on duty. We really cant say for sure what their positions are in that company. But I find it hard to believe a company in Nigeria would import labourers. In that case, it means the owner of the company feels like dashing money to his people or wasting money since he can source the same employees locally. He is turning his company into a charity for his people. |

You are screaming why arent Nigerians given the jobs. If they employ you that is screaming, can you build a refinery? Likely, they are employed in high technical positions, possibly alongside Nigerians. If only Nigerians can fill those jobs for less, I believe a greedy Indian capitalist or any capitalist management for that matter would not import workers. It would be less expensive to employ labor from the locality they're situated in. |

This goes to show that Indian companies dont care whether you are black, Nigerian, indian or pumpkin colour. All they care about is money. They will overuse you to do their work. It is pure evil of the capitalist system and mechanization of man. If they can do this to their own people, they can do it to anyone irrespective of race. All employers only have profit as their goal. |

Some Nigerians are already celebrating cruelty and claiming that these employees are getting a taste of their medicine. These are not company owners, but likely technical staff building a refinery for an Indian company contracted by Dangote. Indian vs Indian. |

fairfora: Uncle, if someone tests negative and you end up in 14 days quarantine and you still come into contact with someone who tests positive or exposed to positive people, you are still at risk of infection and spreading the virus. There was a restaurant owner who tested positive and the restaurant was frequented by Nigerians. This is the reason coronavirus is not like HIV. If you test negative for HIV after the window period and you dont stick your organ into the wrong place without protection, you have no reason to assume you may be HIV positive. But with coronavirus it is not the same thing. Corona is spread through droplets in the air. Apparently, there are details we dont know. When the videos started circulating, I felt there was more than the claims being made of racism. The incident was sad but it relates to quarantine. For a country devastated by a pandemic, it makes sense they will put in place strict measures to avoid another wave of infections. |

Chosen1984: Read the article to finish before commenting. The article is about videos circulating on social media showing Nigerians and Africans evicted from shelters in China. The ambassador said some Nigerians had tested positive and didn't want to be quarantined for 14 days. Also, a Nigerian restaurant owner tester positive and people were still patronizing the restaurant. And the eviction and victimization was due to poor communication and not racism. He further stated that China is fighting the virus and not fighting Nigerians. |

The most unfortunate thing for any responsible person to do is to have unprotected sex with a random sex partner. However, since your first test came out negative, it is very likely you dont have HIV. What you are suffering are some symptoms and effects of anxiety. Anxiety symptoms are similar to those of HIV. Next time, dont f u c k without covering your dick. And best, look for a faithful partner, and if you have doubts, still use condom. You are still worried that the window period isnt over and you may still test positive subsequently. So those are the symptoms of anxiety you are experiencing while hoping the first negative test is confirmed by a second negative. |
