Can we please have the full video. Let us also hear what the Chinese official had to say in response to the points raised by the consul general. Let's hear both sides. Apparently, it has to do with quarantine. Could it be that some Nigerians arrived China and wanted to escape quarantine and were sheltered by other Nigerians to evade quarantine? There must be an underlying reason. Those Nigerians have lived in China for years according to the CG. So what changed? Let's be reasonable instead of reacting based on sentiments.

The first thread turned out to be pro American propaganda and anti Chinese. In other words, fake news was pushed to the front page. Seun Lalasticlala

Your post will make any sensible Black man sick.
You're probably a Chinese impostor but shame on you if you're a Black man yet saying all these rubbish!

You must be suffering from Stockholm syndrome!! So, according to you, Seun should be afraid of China or its embassy here in Nigeriahuh

The money that was spent educating you is a total waste!!!
Does it make sense to you that America is sharing aid to Nigerians inside China, at a time China is sending aid to America?

Dont you have sense, Mr Sensible Black Man?

Answer that question.

What we saw are some Igbo men woth Chinese phones staging a campaign that they were asked to leave somewhere. For what reasons, we don't know. And before we knew it, it is an allegation that Chinese government targeting Nigerians. Why would they target Nigerians?

Before we knew it, NMA is issuing statement to reject Chinese medical supplies and Chinese doctors sharing expertise. Are our doctors in Nigeria superior to Italian doctors whom the Chinese shared expertise with?

PDP issued statement against Chinese aid. MASSOB has issued it's own statement.

The question is what is going on. Who is behind this wave of concerted anti Chinese propaganda in Nigeria at this critical time?

Has America sent us one ventilator or one doctor?

America was scheming on how to get a German company move to the US and monopolized a possible vaccine at the expense of the world.

Seun shouldn't be scared of the Chinese. But his forum is being used deliberately to spread propaganda aka fake news. His mod pushed an unverified piece of news without a reliable source to the front page targeting the relations between a major foreign country and Nigeria.

China has sent medical supplies and doctors to Italy and the US.

The virus originated in China and the Chinese have so far successfully beaten the virus.

If these Chinese doctors, with the approval of the Federal Government offer to help Nigeria, I dont see anything wrong.

On whose behest is NMA rejecting the help of the Chinese to offer medical supplies and share expertise? There is a concerted effort to spread anti Chinese propaganda in the last few days and strain relations between Nigeria and China. These reports flying here and there targeting China are not innocent at all and they dont seem unrelated, disconnected and mere coincidence. NMA has made political statements, PDP has issued statement against Chinese assistance...some power that be, within or outside Nigeria is not happy China is gaining ground, and friends and spreading its influence.
Travel › Re: US Shares Relief Materials To Nigerians In China Thrown Into The Streets by Onyocha: 6:26pm On Apr 09, 2020
Why do I feel this is a deliberately targeted propaganda wave targeting China in Nigeria?

The Americans do not have enough materials to help their people in the US. I have not heard of America sending aid to China during this pandemic. Instead, I have heard of China and Russia sending aid and medical materials to both Italy and the US. How can the US go into another country like China and be doing charity? This is fishy.

Seun, your forum is being used to spread anti Chinese propaganda. We have no idea why those Nigerians were driven out of their homes and if government of China was involved or Sahara Reporters are spreading propaganda sources from the people feeding them allegations that they were targeted because they're Nigerians or Blacks. What if they didn't pay house rent? What if they hadn't been tested? So many ifs. Now your moderators are pushing to the front page anti Chinese propaganda. I pray their embassy are following social media so they can hold you accountable.

Further proof that passengers are stranded and need special flights to move back to their countries. Here is neighbouring Bahrain moving its citizens out of Qatar:

"Qatar welcomes Bahrain move to evacuate citizens stuck in Doha"

Thirty-one Bahrainis landed in Qatar on Friday but were left stranded, as Manama does not allow direct flights to Doha.

Politics › The Reason Countries Are Evacuating/repatriating Their Citizens From Nigeria by Onyocha(op): 10:38am On Apr 06, 2020
I found it necessary to create this thread out of necessity due to the ignorance of some or many people and also, the sensationalization of media reports surrounding the countries repatriating their citizens out of Nigeria, as it is also being done elsewhere around the world.

Note that these countries are only providing planes and opening their airports to let their citizens return home. The citizens bear the cost of travel and decision to leave or not to. So these are not obligatory evacuations based on travel advisory or travel warning. The citizens will bear the cost of travel. The government will only ensure airports give access for these flights tagged "emergency" (due to government to government interventions) under strict measures such as testing and social distancing.

I made the below post in the other thread on Egypt and Lebanon sending planes to 'evacuate' their citizens from Nigeria. I find it necessary to create this thread to inform and hightlight the fact that these so called evacuations, are in fact repatriations, for people who otherwise in normal times are frequent travellers or have some urgent reasons to return home. These trips may not entirely be related to the coronavirus pandemic and have more to do with the fact that airports are closed around the world and some people are either stranded or may want to return home for any reason at all.

It doesnt mean all citizens of those countries are leaving. I hope Seun and Lalasticlala would do the needed and take this thread to the front page. And here is an example of this fact with Americans in Nepal:

The U.S. Embassy in Nepal estimates that 3,000 to 4,000 Americans are still in the country but says not all of them are seeking to leave. Plans for future flights to evacuate more of the Americans were unclear."
Source:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/coronavirus-nepal-hundreds-americans-flown-out-locked-down-nepal-today-2020-03-31/

The US is not forcing its citizens to leave other countries:

"We are not forcing anybody. We left the choice to them. If they think that it would be better for them to go back, they will go, and if they think that remaining in Bangladesh will be better for them they can stay,” the Embassy officials said when asked whether going to the US, now considered as the epicenter of corona, would be a wise decision."
https://thefinancialexpress.com.bd/national/us-arranges-special-flight-to-evacuate-nationals-1585480366

Lebanon for instance charged its citizens wanting to leave from Lagos and Abidjan $1,800 for flight ticket, with the national carrier - Middle East Airlines. This is a one way ticket for $1,800. Normally, it is not up to $400 for a one way flight from Lagos to Beirut. The government will take special measures like providing doctors onboard, providing quarantine facilities and testing upon arrival etc.

Even mighty USA arranged Qatar Airways to repatriate Americans at the cost of their citizens and not on government expense:

If these were obligatory evacuations, the governments of other countries would have provided free and compulsory flights back home.

So there is no alarm that these repatriations indicate the virus is going to spread in Nigeria. The right and timely measures need to be followed and things won't get out of hands. There is no need to be alarmist and claim these evacuations or rather, repatriations are done because other countries have info of something sinister about happening in Nigeria. I dont think there is any such thing. These are just needed measures to fill the vacuum left for travellers by the shutdown of airports around the world.

Onyocha:
First of all, many people are ignorant surrounding the purpose of these so called evacuations.

Secondly, the media is sensationalizing the reports.

Most of these countries have shut down their own airports. That means many of their citizens who are aboard, not necessarily resident abroad, may want to return home. They are trapped in other countries, like Nigeria or they have urgency to return home. For example, France could evacuate or repatriate French people who want to leave the USA, and the US may evacuate or repatriate Americans who want to leave France. There is no case of "they know what we dont know of something sinister about to happen in Nigeria ". When airports were not closed, people travelling in and out of Nigeria was routine. If their home countries' airports are closed, then how do they return? Their governments are arranging these flights to assist their people, who may want to return home to do that. It doesnt mean they are obliged to leave or all of them are leaving.

It doesnt mean that the virus is getting out of hand in Nigeria.

It doesnt mean also all citizens of the countries offering flights to their citizens are leaving.

It doesnt mean the coronavirus situation is better in those countries than in Nigeria.

It simply has to do with the fact that airports around the world have been shut down and there are citizens of other countries who may want to return home.

Iran unveils indigenously-developed smart technology capable of diagnosing infection with the new coronavirus with the help of artificial intelligence and use of CT scan.

The technology produced by experts at Iranian science-based enterprises was wheeled in, in the presence of Iran’s Deputy President for Science and Technology, Sourena Sattari, Fars News Agency reported on Saturday.

“A number of the companies managed to introduce a new method for diagnosing coronavirus’ [infection] by resorting to artificial intelligence,” he said, describing the innovation.

He said the new method opens up “a new perspective for high-precision diagnosis of the coronavirus with the use of CT scan.”

The state-of-the-art know-how can now be deployed across many hospitals countrywide, the official announced.

Sattari said such enterprises as the ones, who gave birth to the new method, had made much progress over the recent years and “were [now] on the frontline of the battle [against the infection].

Iran needless of medical imports

According to the official, the level of productivity that has come about across the country since emergence of the outbreak has rendered the Islamic Republic needless of all virus-related medical imports.

'250,000 modern testing kits’

Apart from the companies, the innovative ecosystem contributing to the virus fight also comprises research centers and various universities, which are active in the area of biotechnology, Sattari said.

The cycle of innovation had led to development of modern diagnostic kits, with two of the enterprises producing 250,000 of the devices so far, he added. The companies possess the potential to produce as many as 100,000 of the kits per week, he added.

Iran’s Defense Ministry unveils test kits that can diagnose COVID-19 within three hours.

‘4-fold rise in facemask output’

Production of preventive facemasks has also witnessed a four-fold-plus increase, Sattari noted, but said the production level still had to rise far higher.

Science-based organizations were also heavily engaged in clinical tests on remedial pharmaceutical protocols, an endeavor that has lifted up any need for medicine imports as the country confronts the outbreak, he said.

After emergence, the outbreak created a need for ventilators that can be used to turn a normal hospital bed to an intensive care unit one, the official stated. Two of the scientific companies, therefore, embarked on producing the devices, making up for any shortages that countrywide hospitals faced in the areas, he added.

The novel virus emerged in central China late last year. It can cause a potentially fatal respiratory infection that is called Covid-19.

The pandemic has claimed 61,144 people and infected 1,139,112 others worldwide ever since. In Iran, it has taken the lives of 3,452.

It is very unlikely, in my opinion, the virus would spread in public places in Nigeria like it did in colder regions of the world. The virus can't withstand heat of more than 26 degrees for long.

The more likely way it could spread in Nigeria, or in Africa, is through travellers from infected countries or coming in contact with them. With the closure of the international airports, we should be fine in three to four weeks time in Nigeria. Avoid people who recently returned from affected country or from abroad. Wash your hands regularly, use your face masks and dont get close to people (always maintain 2 to 3 meters). We will be fine, by God's grace.

Panic is not the way forward to defeat this virus. There are measures to be observed.
Politics › Advice To FG: Countries Left Out In Travel List Of Banned Corona Hotspots by Onyocha(op): 7:00pm On Mar 19, 2020
I hope the mods would push this thread to the front page.

There are three countries that are underreporting their cases of corona virus and we have already had carriers from those countries.

The FG should include: Turkey, Egypt and India to the list of banned travel.

Egypt for example has terribly downplayed its numbers of infected cases, some say, so Egypt won't drive tourists away. Underreporting cases is one sure way of spreading the virus. Turkey is the same thing. People only hear of infections from these countries when people leave these countries and arrive in another. Many cases of infections have been reported in other countries of people who were in Egypt and Turkey.

India's case is special. With their congested cities and over a billion people, they are claiming to only have about 200 cases.

Please, the FG should ban travel to and from these three countries in addition to the other 13.

And our immigration should be on high alert for people whose original departure are from the banned countries but travel to Nigeria through transit from an unbanned country. That was the glitch that happened in Italy. They banned travelers from China. But people were still arriving Italy from China through transiting other countries.

Precautions are very necessary at this point to make sure no new cases are imported into the country. The existing cases can easily be contained and treated accordingly.

The season resumption will likely be postponed again. But the good news is that the Euro 2020 has been called off for this year and postponed to next year. That means even if leagues are suspended for a whole two months, they will eventually resume sometime around May/June and will complete by August. Next season would be shifted to sometime in October. This is very likely. But even when/if leagues resume by May/June, there is no guaranty that games would be played with audience. We would still see empty stadiums. Nonetheless, leagues will conclude for this season.

Just for your info, in case you are being ignorant just like the very people you are criticizing for marrying too many wives.

Those people in the north using Islam as an excuse to marry too many wives and give birth to forty and fifty children should ask themselves:

1. How may among those they marry are widows and destitutes like the women the Prophet Muhammad married?

2. Did the Prophet give birth to forty children? He gave birth to less than 5 children. One surviving daughter and two boys that he survived. Three other females regarded as his daughters were said or believed to be his adopted daughters. In total, both biological and those believed to be adopted are 6.

Those in the north camouflaging their lust for p u s s y do not resemble the Prophet of Islam. In fact, the practice of marrying multiple wives and giving birth to tens of children is only happening in northern Nigeria. It isnt happening in other Muslim countries. Islam has made polygamy conditional. You shouldn't marry more than one wife if you can't take care of them. And that includes children that may result from those marriages.

The only crime you cited in your above ranting of Sanusi is the fact that he lived a high life.

Instead of holding those in executive positions accountable, you are instead asking a monarch to be charitable and criticizing him for not throwing crumbs at people who give birth and throw their children in the streets.

The government has responsibility to take care of its subjects. Just the way the government has flexed its muscles to sack a monarch and make him appear like a nobody, they can flex their muscles and fix education, poverty and health in the North. You can't expect a monarch who was sacked by a governor to outdo the governor in performance.

Iranian Vice President for women and family affairs Masoumeh Ebtekar has tested positive for coronavirus, the state-run daily IRAN reported.

Ebtekar is the first member of President Hassan Rouahni’s cabinet to be infected with the novel coronavirus.

Earlier today, the chairman of the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign affairs committee Mojtaba Zolnour announced in a video that he had also been infected with the coronavirus.

Two other Iranian officials – MP Mahmoud Sadeghi and deputy health minister Iraj Harirchi – have also previously confirmed that they have been infected with the disease.

State media also reported on Thursday that Iranian cleric Hadi Khosroshahi died from coronavirus in Qom.

Khosroshahi served as Iran’s ambassador to the Vatican following the 1979 revolution.

US troops were injured in Iran missile attack despite Pentagon initially saying there were no casualties

(CNN)Several US service members were injured during last week's Iranian missile attack on Al-Asad airbase in Iraq despite the Pentagon initially saying that no casualties had taken place.

"While no U.S. service members were killed in the Jan. 8 Iranian attack on Al Asad Air base, several were treated for concussion symptoms from the blast and are still being assessed," the US-led military coalition fighting ISIS in Iraq and Syria said in a statement Thursday.

A US military official told CNN that 11 service members had been injured in the attack, which was launched in retaliation for the US airstrikes that had killed Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani the previous week. Defense One was first to report on the injured service members.

Following the attack the Pentagon said that no casualties had resulted from the 16 missiles fired by Iran. The US military defines a casualty as either an injury or fatality involving personnel.

Asked about the apparent discrepancy, a Defense official told CNN, "That was the commander's assessment at the time. Symptoms emerged days after the fact, and they were treated out of an abundance of caution."

Iran Jet Disaster Setup

22:05 13.01.2020 (updated 13:45 14.01.2020)

by Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich, Finian Cunningham

The 19-second video published by the New York Times last week showing the moment an Iranian missile hit a passenger jet has prompted much social media skepticism.

Questions arise about the improbable timing and circumstances of recording the precise moment when the plane was hit.

The newspaper ran the splash story on January 9, the day after a Ukrainian airliner was brought down near Tehran. It was headlined: ‘Video Shows Ukrainian Plane Being Hit Over Iran’. All 176 people onboard were killed. Two days later, the Iranian military admitted that one of its air defense units had fired at the plane in the mistaken belief that it was an incoming enemy cruise missile.

“A smoking gun” was how NY Times’ journalist Christiaan Triebert described the video in a tweet. Triebert works in the visual investigations team at the paper. In the same tweet, he thanked – “a very big shout out” – to an Iranian national by the name of Nariman Gharib “who provided it [the video] to the NY Times, and the videographer, who would like to remain anonymous”.

The anonymous videographer is the person who caught the 19-second clip which shows a missile striking Flight PS752 shortly after take-off from Tehran’s Imam Khomenei airport at around 6.15 am. This person, who remains silent during the filming while smoking a cigarette (the smoke briefly wafts over the screen), is standing in the suburb of Parand looking northwest. His location was verified by the NY Times using satellite data. The rapid way the newspaper’s technical resources were marshaled raises a curious question about how a seemingly random video submission was afforded such punctilious attention.

But the big question which many people on social media are asking is: why was this “videographer” standing in a derelict industrial area outside Tehran at around six o’clock in the morning with a mobile phone camera training on a fixed angle to the darkened sky? The airliner is barely visible, yet the sky-watching person has the camera pointed and ready to film a most dramatic event, seconds before it happened. That strongly suggests, foreknowledge.

Given that something awful has just been witnessed it is all the more strange that the person holding the camera remains calm and unshaken. There is no audible expression of shock or even the slightest disquiet.

Turns out that Nariman Gharib, the guy who received the video and credited by the NY Times for submitting it, is a vociferous anti-Iranian government dissident who does not live in Iran. He ardently promotes regime change in his social media posts.

Christiaan Triebert, the NY Times’ video expert, who collaborated closely with Gharib to get the story out within hours of the incident, previously worked as a senior investigator at Bellingcat. Bellingcat calls itself an independent online investigative journalism project, but numerous critics accuse it of being a media adjunct to Western military intelligence. Bellingcat has been a big proponent of media narratives smearing the Russian and Syrian governments over the MH17 shoot-down in Ukraine in 2014 and chemical weapons attacks.

In the latest shoot-down of the airliner above Tehran, the tight liaison between a suspiciously placed anonymous videographer on the ground and an expatriate Iranian dissident who then gets the prompt and generous technical attention of the NY Times suggests a level of orchestration, not, as we are led to believe, a random happenstance submission. More sinisterly, the fateful incident was a setup.

It seems reasonable to speculate that in the early hours of January 8 a calamitous incident was contrived to happen. The shoot-down occurred only four hours after Iran attacked two US military bases in Iraq. Those attacks were in revenge for the American drone assassination on January 3 of Iran’s top military commander, Maj. General Qassem Soleimani.

Subsequently, Iranian air-defense systems were on high alert for a possible counter-strike by US forces. Several reports indicate that the Iranian defense radars were detecting warnings of incoming enemy warplanes and cruise missiles on the morning of 8 January. It does seem odd why the Iranian authorities did not cancel all commercial flights out of Tehran during that period. Perhaps because civilian airliners can normally be differentiated by radar and other signals from military objects.

However, with the electronic warfare (EW) technology that the United States has developed in recent years it is entirely feasible for enemy military radars to be “spoofed” by phantom objects. One such EW developed by the Pentagon is Miniature Air-Launched Decoy (MALD) which can create deceptive signals on enemy radar systems of incoming warheads.

What we contend therefore is this: the Americans exploited a brink-of-war scenario in which they anticipated Iranian air-defense systems to be on a hair-trigger. Add to this tension an assault by electronic warfare on Iranian military radars in which it would be technically feasible to distort a civilian airliner’s data as an offensive target. The Iranian military has claimed this was the nature of the shoot-down error. It seems plausible given the existing electronic warfare used by the Pentagon.

It’s a fair, albeit nefarious, bet that the flight paths out of Tehran were deliberately put in an extremely dangerous position by the malicious assault from American electronic warfare. A guy placed on the ground scoping the outward flight paths – times known by publicly available schedules – would be thus on hand to catch the provoked errant missile shot.

The shoot-down setup would explain why Western intelligence were so quick to confidently assert what happened, contradicting Iran’s initial claims of a technical onboard plane failure.

The disaster has gravely undermined the Iranian government, both at home and around the world. Protests have erupted in Iran denouncing the authorities and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp for “lying” about the crash. Most of the 176 victims were Iranian nationals. The anger on the streets is being fueled by the public comments of Western leaders like Donald Trump, who no doubt see the clamor and recriminations as an opportunity to push harder for regime change in Iran.

NOT MINDING HOW I LOVE AMERICA, THIS IS THE REASON THE USA WON'T BE ABLE TO DEFEAT IRAN IN A FULL BLOWN WAR

This is also the reason why a full blown war between the two nations may lead to the end of the world.

Let me define Iran a bit, Iran is not a country that just appeared today, Iran is the same as ancient Persia where Israel once stayed in captivity...

Persia (Iran) was still the same country that defeated Babylon (Iraq) in the Bible days...

Iran has a strong place in Bible history and this makes it the most sophisticated Arabian nation till date that can stand a fight with Israel or the Western powers, been that Iran is in possession of few Nuclear war heads... Ex Presd. Obama was unguided to have aided Iran in her nuclear program...
Mr Pastor, or Mr I Too Know,

Iran is not an Arabian/Arabic/Arab nation or country.

Iranians belong to a number of ethnicities and primarily to the Persian ethnicity. They mostly speak Farsi (Persian language).

On july third 1988, a US guided missile cruiser USS Vincennes in the gulfshot down an Iranian passenger plane killing all 290 aboard, US never appologized
On 4 october 2001, Ukraine shot down a russian passenger plane killing all on 78 aboard. They appologized like tgis and apaid the families of the victims a sum of $15 million.
Nairaland idiots won't see the above post and learn some history before running their mouths on issues they know little about and which doesn't concern them in the first place.

Most people commenting here and shouting about irresponsibility and Iran and shouting about incompetence and disarm Iran, they dont know simple history.

The US itself has once shot down an Iranian passenger plane carrying 290 people over the Persian Gulf in 1988. The US said it was a mistake. All 290 people onboard perished.
