OlawaleSmarter0:You are the first to mention "Yoruba" not me. |
OlawaleSmarter0:I deserve a ban for having a differing view about us? ahh! pls let love and truth lead. |
seems ibos are not much in that team 'cos they are the ones who bring us glory. The team lacks character. #saynototribalism# |
Nonsense...what of snake? |
BBC weather forecast kept on saying "southern Nigeria" to experience heavy showers. |
Ibos and domination. |
Bad news |
Why don't you report "final year student found dead" ? did you assist in the suicide? |
having a group like this in the west will be a dream come true and a major turning point in our Yoruba nationalism. but when? |
AroOkigbo:assembling is part of manufacturing but manufacturing is not part of assembling. both terms cant interchange. |
pcicero:go and find ibos and argue with them. I'm talking about we yorubas |
Hatred and bitterness is our biggest undoing as a people. most of the people calling IVM an assembler are from our region the West. when Clinton extolled Emeagwali, we criticized him. when nnaji girl made a breakthrough with Lionheart, many of my people who can't even afford to feed criticized her. Now some of us are hating on innoson- a brand being patrionized by African countries, A brand that has brought pride to the country we claim to love. we have allowed Hypocrisy and hate to be deeply rooted in our sub conscious . we hate and can't help our selves yet we hate on others and claim to love ourselves. I find this distasteful. |
rusher14:if he does any of these tests will you be able to recognize them? |
propaganda will never help us in the west. my state osun started this joke of inflating our igr but we know how it ended.if rivers state didn't come to our rescue our state would have collapsed totally. our region should hold our leaders to account instead of getting excited by the fake igr they brandish yet can't pay minimum wage. |
BuhariAdvocate:That's your opinion not fact. Ibos have a pattern of writing and telling their stories that fascinates others and arrests their readers. The writing of Achebe and Adichie and some other IBO writers tell a story about a definite period in the IBO socio-political history. Things fall apart exposes the true IBO perception of colonialism, same as joy of motherhood by emecheta. Also adichie half of a yellow can be used to understand how the common IBO man felt the civil war. This is what make works great. Great works expresse both in pattern, story and language, the life of an epoch or era. this is what make sheakespere, Charles dicken, and hemingway's farewell to arms stand out. but here in west we are not very creative, yet abstract. imagine the lion and the jewel what story does it tell? abeg we need to emulate them. |
BuhariAdvocate:every writer wants his/her work to be popular and known across the world. I lied you said? is it a lie that Mandela stated Achebe's work gave inspiration in prison? is it lie that out of Obama 5 favourite African authors, Achebe and Adichie were the two Nigerians? Is it also lie that during the 2014 centenary banquet, foreign diplomats who poured inconium on Nigeria's achievement at 100 consistently mentioned Achebe, Emecheta and Adichie alongside our nollywood industry fewer of them mentioned our son Soyinka? it seem tribal lenses have beclouded your comprehension, the same reason we now trail ibos in every education index. |
Jealousy hatred and wickedness have become the hallmark of our contemporary relationship with other ethnic groups. we cant make osofisan popular by mentioning along achebe cos he is not near the class. if I wasn't a Yoruba I would have found it difficult knowing him. last I checked, the only two Nigerian authors mentioned by Obama were Achebe and adichie, as a part of 5 best African authors. I bet if he were to expand it, butchi emecheta would have joined the list. During our centenary celebration, diplomats who hailed our country's achievement consistently stated that Nigeria is made popular on the account of the works of Achebe adichie and buchi emecheta, only few mentioned our dear soyinka. The problem with us is that we are too academical with work as against ibos who are dynamic, pragmatic and practical. hence ibos do well in prose poetry and drama while the few ones we have only did well in drama. They even have upcoming ones like Chibundu, okafor etc but we still bask in anachronistic glory. instead of bitterness that will do us no good, we should find ways of carefully studying their pattern of hardwork and success and replicate it in our everyday life. it is well. |
is it Ibadan? |
Pointguardusa:bro let's appreciate good things irrespective of tribe. |
where are the omoluabis in all this? we dominate UK in numbers but we live mostly in low-hood areas of every city, allowing Ibos and other tribes take control of the corridors of power. i keep repeating that unbridled hate and jealously that our present generation is known for won't do the job rather, hardwork will. |
meaning? |
What have we done as a people to emulate them and integrate their model into our traditional economic system. it's not just shouting "wise Igbo are making money instead of joining Biafra" We southwesterners have to relieve our mind from the grip of hate and jealousy if we must progress. |
seems we underestimated this guy |
Demonizing her is not the solution. |
we continue opening business centers all over. that's why I don't blame kanu when he takes on oyedepo kumuyi adeboye etc pastor Chris inspired the likes of sinach, frank edward, Ada, Buchi, Chinwo Assemblies of God have David Ekene Daniel . Even dunamis have Prospa Ochimana an Nwachukwu. Can one tell any gospel singer adeboye oyedepo and kumuyi raised?. that will tell you that they are more of tribal business centers than Church. truth must be told, being a Yoruba not withstanding. |
our people should also stop coming to churchill's defence. it all began when we celebrated an Ibo reject cos he married our brother. we should manage this well. |
Despite being yoruba, I think it isn't out of place to admit that most men in this part of our country like Churchill fall under "one minute man" category. Hence I wasn't fast in celebrating Churchill because he married an IBO girl cos I knew it would backfire. our people should acknowledge this peculiar reproductive health issue and become less boastful of our non existent sexual exploit as that is usually an evidence of deep-seated complex issues. |
and my people on death row in same Saudi Arabia will be beheaded? Yoruba ronu! |
I hate to say this but Nigeria is gone. |
