I'm yoruba but I don't see it that way. we need to know our true history as a people. I never knew that the minorities of our defunct Western region suffered under our people. Again, I use to believe that it was the Ibos who cheated the minorities only to discover there was level playing ground in their defunct Eastern region.

Ironically many itshekiri people I have met do not welcome the idea of oodua republic. They believe in forming a country with Edo or at worst join Biafra rather than joining us in Odua republic. Except their opinion changes, it's obvious they'll go where Edo goes.

If the list is anything to go by then the Yoruba race needs to sit up. Only Ogun made it to top ten. Lagos is somewhat no-man's-land not populated by us alone while other Ibo states except ebonyi are in top ten.

Bro that's not true. I say our people because many of our people are obsessed with fairness but the Ibos are not much so. we run after Ibo girls foreigners and even Fulani girls. Have you ever seen those Ibos run after Fulani talk more of Somali girls?

It has never been disputed that various Yoruba groups migrated at different periods but we are one race. Awujale said Ijebus are from Waddai, we have Yoruba from Mecca, from Canaan, from Egypt, from Yemen....even as far away as Oman.

Britain colonized America. Is every white man in America a British? No! You have settlements populated by Dutch, others by Polish, you have Irish, German, French, Spanish......but they are all Europeans!

There is no such tie-link between Ikwerre or Ika and Ibo.

Our problem in SW is we try to downplay these things and don't take them serious but those Ijebus always insist they are not one of us. Some of them are openly saying that the rest of we Yoruba's are dirty, ugly and smelly, when they are infact not different from the rest of us. Imagine the disgrace of Oba of Lagos saying his people are not Yoruba's that we the Yoruba people constitute nuisance in Lagos. same with with our revered awujale affirming they are Sudan and never Yoruba. Pls let's spend more time in fighting to unite our Yoruba fold instead of speaking of wigwe, elumelu and Jim okechukwu ovia or whatever who all have never denied being ibos.
