With deep pains in my heart i announce the death of my dog. He has been ill through last week and i sought advice from the house on what to do via this thread: www.nairaland.com/2674129/dog-dyingSaying i feel somuch pain and anger is an understatement. That dog was much more to me than you imagine. From Bruno's death i learnt the following 1) Never ever go to the wrong hands/ semi-trained/inexperienced doctors (Both for your personal health and your pets). If you want to treat your pet or yourself, do the best you can in the best possible place. Life is just once... I'll give anything to have my dog back 2) Ask questions on time about issues as much as you can. I learnt alot from the thread i opened but before i could apply them it was too late 3) Be observant on issues that concerns health. Whether for yourself, your kids or even your pets To the vet Doctor who didn't even know what was wrong with Bruno but started pumping antibiotics in his system, i say God bless you richly. Am pained!!! Lalasticlala

adahogwuche: I wish i had responded to this earlier.i didnt see this post. What you described seems serious. The ideal thing would be to do an ultrasound to determine what the matter could be. The first impression would be some form of gastric poisoning, maybe from your dogs scavenging or some form of gastrointestinal irritation or trauma causing gastric haemorrhage. In both case, your vets hands might be tied so he would easily resort to antibiotics alone. I would however, urge him to administer gastric protectants and maybe consider trying to administer something to stop haemorhage and clot the blood. This should be accompanied by a lot of TLC and improved diet for self support. Since its an ongoing problem and not acute, you just have to pray and believe it should sort out soon. If you stay in a town with an improved vet clinic or a university with vet medicine, pls visit them and use their ultra sound facility or tell your vet to take you to any human diagnostic imaging center and use their ultra sound machine if this condition persist. You cannot rule out a hard matter and in which case you might need a surgery to remove it. I hope your dog gets better. And pls feel free to contact me directly. I would be available to give you professional advice. Thank you Thanks, I really appreciate.... I'll PM You now!! |

Raymie: Reading many comments here shows how shallow, puerile and hard hearted the average Nigerian is. Making mockery of someone's misery? I have no words.
Anyways OP, yhur dog shows symptoms of Melena, which is not a disease per sé but a symptom of a range of disease and causative like diet, gastrointestinal ulcers, toxicity and even kidney failure. Treatment should start from the underlying disease and the Melena would go away. In the absence of any vet at the moment, I'd recommend using red oil to keep him/her alive till when the vets can come in. (dunno of the charcoal solution though). Also try keeping the dog lubricated as s/he tends to lose electrolytes as s/he vomits/stools. Yhu may need to personally feed since s/he won't have the strength to lap liquids. Sincerely wish yhu the best. Hope yhur dog makes it alive.
Cc Oooops Thanks boss.... met with the vets today.... He made mention that the dog might have had kidney issues and all that cos he was vomiting bloodlike substance, though the dog was finally put on drips. Hmmmmm |

naijainfogalery: First of all , u mean alsatian dog
One of the most important thing towards your dogs survival is absolute care. And you need to change your vet ASAP. We would appreciate if you can upload pics of the dog, when was the last time it was vacinnated, We always vaccinate it every month. His last was about two weeks ago. I just dropped him with the Vet doctor this evening and drips were fixed on him. Am so confused! He hasn't eating for over two days. I prepared chicken and meat and he ate none. He is at d vets now. tho i hv pictures of him when he was much younger.... i can get his pica tomoro when i go check on him. But this was then he was younger

Please someone should help me. My dog is dying. His stools is very black and he is vomiting something i think its blood. He isn't eating nor drinking. I've taking him to the veteran doctors severally who keep saying nothing is wrong, they say we should keep giving him antibiotics which we have been doing but yet he isn't getting better... Am tired. By the way he's an Essential dog! (or what is the spelling again) pls dog lovers help!!

Currently a woman has been seriously wounded and finally fainted and has been rushed to the hospital where doctors are battling to save her after a fight with another woman in the same neighborhood. This is currently happening at Amedokhian, Esan North East Local government in Uromi area of Edo state.
The fight resulted from a minor misunderstanding of kitchen use. This woman normally called mrs Ose, was complaining the other woman doesn't sweep the Kitchen properly and it didn't go down well with the other. Thy started exchanging words which resulted in struggling and the later pushing the victims who fell down with blocks falling on her.
Below are pics after the cut. Enjoy
