Fact is, Trump does not need to ask people to contribute. No law stops him from using his money with no limit for campaign or fund election lawsuits so far he reports it.

Bloomberg used hundreds of millions of his money to fund his campaign because he really has it.

Trump is simply not that rich to risk hundreds of millions of his money on his own campaign.
