A one way ticket is most times expensive than a round trip stfadaanthony: Thanks to everyone here. Asking this question out of curiosity. If I am to book my flight as a visitor to Canada, is it a must to book my return ticket too? Or simply tell the boarder officer you will be booking after the conference. Saying this to safe cost. |

Kash Baba🙌🏽🙌🏽 OyoTunjiUSA: Hey 🤠
If you attend your visa interview with your present mindset your visa might be denied . You do not have to work in oil company or bank or MTN before you can secure a US visa. Even if you re a roadside Vulganizer your intention and genuineness of purpose as well as proof of financial ability to fund your trip is what the US embassy look out for.
1. In your DS 160 indicate that you are Self -employed /Business man or Importer & Exporter.
2. Your family back home as well as your house in Abuja and other businesses you do are enough home ties for you to return to , therefore you do not have any fear to fear on home ties .
3. Big questions you should prepare to answer are :
** Why are you going to the USA ?
** Will the wedding not take place if you did not attend ?
*** Who will fund your trip ?
*** Have you traveled out of Nigeria before ?
Best Wishes 🙏 |

Will she be applying alone this time? Has there been any significant change in her/their lives between the last application and now? Any travel history? vinci500: Hey guys I have two questions, any tips and advice will be greatly appreciated.
Question 1: I am attempting to apply for a visit visa for my sister and her family (husband and one daughter). She has been denied twice.
First time: She went with her daughter, they were both denied. (Invitation was for my graduation in 2019). Interview was at the consulate in Abuja
Second time: She went with her kid and husband, they were all denied. Interview was in Lagos. (2022)
I want her to apply again, as I think she was ill prepared both times based on my conversations with her after both interviews. I haven't seen them in about 6 years, and I'd love to have them visit for a few weeks as I recently just became a PR via Eb visa. What would you suggest we do differently this time? I want to be more involved and precise in the application process this time to avoid repeating the same mistake and will gladly welcome any advice or scrutiny you may have. I still believe it's possible for them to get a visit visa, so I don't want to lose hope.
Question 2: What are the current timelines for getting an interview date, and are there any legitimate ways to secure a date in 2024 without negatively impacting their immigration aspirations?
Thank you in advance for your contributions, grateful for a platform such as this. |

No. I wasn’t asked to show any cash. It’s advisable to have money on your card/acc and to be able to show it if required. Also, it’s more of a cashless society. collarfreak: Thanks for the insightful explanation. Were you asked to show them the cash you have at hand for PTA at the point of entry? Thanks so much |

1. You have a limited time to submit your passport, what’s the guarantee that your new passport would come out within that time? Also, four years is a long time, I doubt the passport office would be willing to renew unless you’ve maxed out all the pages. 2. Your approved visa information should be on your tracker under (document status), and your visa expiry date would be there already. I doubt getting another passport would make any difference. Emma549: Hello Guys, Please can one submit a new passport different from the one you applied it. I applied with a passport with 4 years validity and got PPR. Before i submit passport for visa stamping, i will like to quickly go do another new passport that will be 10years. When I submit this new 10years passport Will the visa carry this 10years validity or not? |

There's no way to apply under the Can+ program, each application is reviewed and processed under that category provided it qualifies for it. Judging from this application's timeline, they were processed under the can+ program even though they had an expired US Visa. mojisolani: Pls did you applied for them under Can+ with an expired us visa or is the us visa still valid ? |

The 2024 on the birth certificate is the ISSUANCE Date, not the DOB. It cannot be a typo because it was indeed issued in 2024 although the baby was born in 2020. NPC will not backdate the issuance date. Poster should explain circumstances surrounding the loss and provide stuff to confirm they’re indeed the parent. Like I said, it’s not hard at all. Seen it plenty times on the student thread. MrSoftlife: The issue now is that UKVI sent a message recently asking why a kid that was giving birthday to over 4yrs ago is having date of 2024 on birth the certificate which is the date the birth certificate was issued. Also to explain the document i submitted to obtain this new birth certificate.
I think from his explanation it is straightforward that it was a typo from NPC/hospital and asking whoever issued that document to issue the right one. Yes, he can add a court affidavit that the first document was misplaced to backup his claims.
PS: They already queried his application and doubting his intention that it was a fake document that was submitted. Someone has to take the blame for it. |

I’ve seen stories like this on the student section. You could ask there and I’m sure you’d get help. Your case is pretty straightforward tho. People misplace their BC every time since there’s no digital record or storage. An affidavit should help. But then, telling them why you had to get a new one and adding proof that shows you’re indeed the parents works too. mrnatural: Thanks but I intend getting an affidavit from high court and also a police report to back it up. But I’m already here in the UK |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Opeyemi007: 7:16pm On Jan 16, 2024 |
At all. The complicates it more. Why would NPC make that kinda mistake. The best thing is to say they lost the original BC and had to get a replacement from NPC. They could supply pictures from the naming ceremony, pictures from Preggy days with dates showing that period. MrSoftlife: Simply reply it is a typo error from NPC or the hospital and attach the right certificate. |

I’m sorry for your refusal. Did you submit a corporate account statement for the application? talentarena: So let me make this easy I did everything, I dedicated an account for this porpose, I handle all my visa my self and I know all that is required, its my 3rd application to the uk, and i have followed all the rejection letter to try to fix the issues they complain, I think this time was my tax cos I put everything I stated right, and i am not even trying to brag about my trip I am a tourist I mean like it's what I do, so I think the only issue was my tax, but I don't entend to try again, atleast my other visas can take me to every other country except the uk, so let's say I never got to visit the uk but I got to see every other dream country, except in the future if I can i invite I could try again but now, I guve up |

If we're being honest, no one would feel comfortable posting their employer on NL TeeD: Congrats.
Guys, let's provide more critical information as that's the purpose for posting here. Stuff like, what you do for work, what took you to those countries (eg school,) how old are those other visas, etc are what helped your application significantly, and not disclosing them is not that helpful for those here. Try to be as descriptive as possible without doxxing yourself.
"Me and friend are planning to visit Niagara Falls... my friend's house in New York" will weaken the average person's visa application, but not for a profile like yours, hence the importance of those.
Note how the VO went further to ask for your old passport and verify your travel history, it meant they were still undecided until they saw the history, age, and status of those visas, and could as well have denied your visa application if you didn't have your old passport with you. Therefore, your interview wasn't that great, your travel history 'saved' you. Average folks with no travel history should not "visit a friend and 9/11 memorial" not gonna work, just saying.
PS: A friend's visa success didn't make sense to me until I found out they were born in the UK (shown on passport) and it obviously played a huge part. |

It'll be for Visa Free Nationals sha Ajalalomo: UK Airports May No Longer Require Travelers to Show Their Passports.
The next time you fly to the United Kingdom, you might be able to leave your passport safely tucked away in your bag. The nation’s airports will reportedly begin testing new facial recognition technology at “eGates” for arriving passengers, which would replace border control's standard physical passport check.

Seems like you’re projecting Egbon. You don’t know the circumstances surrounding the poster’s family. Your group appointment advise is spot on tho. Bigkenny: Once each French visa application has been completed for the 3 applicants, go to the TLScontact website to schedule a group appointment. Because of your travel history, you, your fiancee, and your fiancee's mom all qualify as frequent travelers by making one group appointment together.
Also, it will be nice to take one of your family members (especially your mom) along with you and don't be like my older brother, who doesn't think anything in life is important other than his wife, and his wife's parents.
His mother-in-law has visited Canada more than five times since he married his wife six years ago. He brought his wife to Canada through the student route and helped his wife's parents get a visa to attend his wedding in Canada, but he abandoned his own parents.
Now my mom is in the US for the past 2 months to visit my sister, but my brother has been crying like a little bitch because he asked my mom a question ''do you want to visit me in Canada'', my mom said no and told him to call his wife's parent to visit him. |
